Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend was a good story. Oliver has come to an end in his modeling career & decides to open a Book Boyfriend business for lonely ladies. Skye has been Oliver's best friend but isn't too sure about his new business. Bailey is the city manager who uses Oliver's business. Bailey's husband turns up dead during all of this too. Throw in some twists & you have the story. It was a good story but a little slow in some spots.
This book is absolutely amazing! I couldn't stop reading it. The idea of forming to fit every womens fantasy is intriguing and kept me reading.
I wanted to like this story, but in the end there were a few things that just didn't add up for me.
The story is told from Oliver's point of view. I like that the author chose to tell it from the hero's perspective, but I had a hard time connecting with him. It felt like he was playing a bunch of different parts just like the book boyfriends he would pretend to be.
Also, while I totally understood the instant and memorable attraction he had to the heroine of the book, nothing in their interactions led me to believe they had connected on such a deep level that he would act the way he did. Maybe if the book wasn't novella length their connection could have been better established. This is really a personal preference, though, as. I am generally not a fan of insta-love in books.
The blurb really gives away the plot of the whole book, including the fact that Bailey cheats on her husband with Oliver. While I understand her husband isn't a stand up guy, the circumstances still don't feel super great for the beginning of a new relationship/love.
Highly entertaining, emotionally thrilling and sweetly sexy romantic journey filled with hard to make life altering decisions, secret agendas, fierce loyalty and exciting newly found passion..... I just adored Oliver from the beginning and fell hard the more romantic and charming he was. All the very interesting and relatable charters just made this a story I could not put down. A Great Misadventure!
I wasn't that impressed with this story, honestly. The premise was a unique one, but the business was turned into something not quite honorable and slightly sleazy. The rest of the story was all over the map and very confusing! I got mixed signals from the best friend, felt that the heroine was using the hero, and the silent partner was angling for control. I think it was trying to be more than what it was! Thankfully, it was a quick read, but not a very enjoyable one!
So, anyone who reads romance has one or more book boyfriends, right? And, who wouldn't want to spend just one night with him … have all that alpha attention, romance and maybe a hot time in bed with him? Fantasies are wonderful until you fall for that fantasy and it becomes real.
Welcome to Book Boyfriend Inc. where fantasies come to life one book at a time.
Oliver had a great idea until it was pointed out to him that he is practically a prostitute. He had to change that and quick. No way would he hurt Skye's political aspirations like that. He may hate the man that she works for but he loves the woman that is like a sister to him. So, with the help of a new friend, he turns his little venture into a true dating site. But, before that happens, he happens to grow extremely infatuated with his first date and can't get her off his mind. When she shows up a second time, all bets are off. Until that fatal phone call comes and everything comes crashing down.
Melanie, Bailey had problems of her own. An unsatisfying marriage, a husband who always had a piece on the side and she was a pro at putting on the mask of the devoted politician's wife. Until she found the ad for Book Boyfriend Inc. and her life seemed to be taking a turn for the better. Until that fatal phone call comes and everything comes crashing down.
That phone call also gives both Oliver and Bailey a chance at possibly finding love. But, there is one little problem and Oliver has some major decisions to make. When he decides he's more important than Skye, she doesn't take it very well and things get even more complicated. But, his decision is made and it's his happiness that he chooses.
Victoria Blue wrote a cute and sassy story. It was fun and interesting. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the chemistry between Oliver and Bailey. Just couldn't get into them as a couple. Maybe it was the way Bailey was written or her coming off as aloof. But, all in all, I really enjoyed the fresh and new premise of this story. Good for Victoria Blue for listening to Romanlandia and writing a fun story about something we all fantasize about. And I loved how the story wasn't just fluff but ran the gamut on a whole bunch of emotions.
This was a cute book about a model who is hitting the age of too old for book covers. He then starts a business that becomes every readers dream. A date with your book boyfriend. What reader would not want that. It was a fun book to read.

I had a hard time finishing this book, because I did not like the characters. I was actually cheering against this couple and hoping he’d end up with one of his female friends instead. I felt no connection between them.
The plot was interesting, but lost focus with too much going on, there was never a focus on the relationship. There was his business, Skye, his neighbors, Baileys husbands death, politics, and a big corruption scandal. It was just too much in this tiny book. The book was also completely told in first person by the hero, and he didn’t seem mature enough to be in a relationship in my opinion. No one was likable.
I love this series, but this book just wasn’t for me.
Note: He is a prostitute and she commits adultery, so that may not appeal to some.
Once I started, I couldn’t stop. This romance has everything I absolutely love in a book - sizzling chemistry, playful banter, a plot that kept me smiling throughout the book. I honestly loved this book. Absolutely recommend

Opinions expressed are my own ...
Oliver Connelly at 27 considers himself a washed up - has been of a model..
Currently living with his roommate Skye - not able to make rent & no job prospects in site - -he needs something for work & FAST
Oliver’s sitting out by the pool at the condo listening to a group of women talking around him although he is trying to ignore their conversation ( ear buds in anyone ?? ) The ladies are talking romance novels & why can’t guys in real life be like their much loved book boyfriends & why is that you might ask ...” because we’re all suckers for for love. It keeps hope alive and passion burning strong. It’s at the root of almost every other emotion “ LOVE THESE LINES !
Oliver comes up with an idea for a new business venture - Book Boyfriend Inc where he can be whoever the client wants & treat her that way - 🤠 Cowboy - The Mob Boss - The Billionaire 💰- Alpha Male - Sports Star ...
He comes up with a business profile - gets a quick add out on the web advertising his services & just like that gets his first interested client.
This book is so refreshing - laugh out loud funny - super sizzling sexy 🔥 angst - and some real pull at your heartstring moments !! There are some super funny lines one of my favorite conversations this comes a little later in the book “ Are you sure u can be there - It’s @ 10:15 sharp- you can’t be late ... you might want to be there early - can you be there early ? Oliver’s response OMG WOMAN - how many cups of coffee ☕️ did you have this morning !! 😂Reminds me of some conversations I’ve had with my husband ...
Same client telling Oliver about her fantasy that involves him & in his mind he is thinking this “BOOM - Hiroshima! Peal Harbor - & Nagasaki all at the same time!!
If you have had the opportunity to read any of the books in the “Misadventures Series “ they are great reads but this one for me is an absolute FAVORITE !!
Highly recommend this book & author !
Skye and Oliver have been best friends for years. That is; until he starts his own business. Book Boyfriend Inc becomes the drawcard between friendship and eventually love.
Bailey is a client of BBI and also is known to Skye through politics. These three together make quite a tangle but all truths are shown and cards on the table at the end.
Misadventures with a book boyfriend was on my TBR and unfortunately let me down. I found the book a tad slow; thus it took me longer to read.
I was a bit torn on this book because I generally enjoy the Misadventure series. It took me a couple of days to figure out why I was bothered by this one. With this series, I don't always read the blurb since the title tends to hint at what the book will be about. So, when we first meet our Hero, Oliver and his interaction with his female roommate, Skye, I thought she might be the heroine. Then, we meet Janine and her "older" romance novel-loving friends at the pool, and I thought maybe he's after the Cougar? Turns out Janine will become the adviser in his new business, Book Boyfriends Inc., which is how he ultimately meets our heroine, Melanie/Bailey. He hits it off so well with her, that he ends up sleeping with her. But wait, if she's the heroine, will he sleep with other clients too, thus cheating on her?
Unlike the other Misadventure stories, we have a clear-cut couple. In this one, I originally thought the author was going to keep us guessing until the end who he would end up with, but then doubts were formed in my head about whether I trusted the heroine. I kind of had an inkling about how the story was going to play out, but in the end, the book was just ok for me.
A very quick read!
Oliver is a model, but as he gets older (27) the jobs are becoming fewer. Because he didn't save any of the money he made when he was in his prime, he is forced to look for work. One day at the pool, the ladies give him the idea of becoming a Book Boyfriend. Women hire him to make their fantasies come true. But his very first customer steals his heart. Bailey was tired of her husband ignoring her, so she hires Oliver to give her one night of fantasies ... but will one night be enough?
This book has a good storyline, but I just found that things happened too quickly ... and I know that happens when it's a short book, but I think that in this case it hurt the overall story. I loved Oliver ... he just seemed like he was a good guy, not that smart but good. But I couldn't get into Bailey's character ... maybe that's because I never got her POV - we only got Oliver's POV.

OMG!!!! Loved this story!! Oliver is the perfect man, has manners, looks and great in bed. When his current job as a model isn't fulfilling and happening, He becomes what every women wants a book boyfriend. Can he be the perfect BBF and not have feelings ? Will he find his mate or will money win? Read this great book from a great author ♡Victoria Blue♡. Well written!!
Any lady that loves romances has definitely dreamed of meeting their favorite book boyfriends and in this book they made it a reality. Oliver is the perfect male specimen. He is sexy, smart, loyal and he is full of love. When his modeling career becomes almost nonexistent he has to think outside the box and find another career. I truly thought Oliver was perfect. I was kinda disappointed in the leading lady but who knows maybe im just jealous. I love all the misadventures books because they all offer something different. I definitely recommend this book
Another great steamy romance book from the Misadventures series. I love love love these books. Great characters that makes you fall in love with them and their stories. Relatable characters with amazing story line. Well done
Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of this Misadventures book. I read some previous Misadventure books, and enjoyed them. However, in this case, I really didn’t like Oliver and the story is written solely from his point of view. I found Oliver to be whiny and I really hated that he didn’t support the 2 most important women in his life. Perhaps it was just my expectations vs. This book’s reality...
If you haven't read any of the books in the Misadventures series, then you are seriously missing out! I've read most of the books in the series so far, and not a single one disappoints!
Male model, Oliver Connely used to be in huge demand. Nowadays though, not so much – at the ripe old age of 27, job offers are few and far between. With very little savings, and barely enough money to pay the rent, Oliver comes up with the genius idea of becoming a real life book boyfriend! The ladies LOVE it (duh!) - and before he knows it, Oliver’s making a pile of cash!
It's through this line of work that he meets Bailey Hardin – a woman he finds very hard to resist, and vice versa! Dating other women could become a bit of a problem! Lol!
This misadventure is definitely one to add to your collection! It's very well written, with an ending I didn't expect. A hot 5 star read!
Interesting premise
Sadly Victoria Blue’s Misadventures of a Book Boyfriend just didn’t move me.
The premise was great, loved the title but just found Oliver a little whiny and self absorbed especially at the beginning. Too I didn’t like that Bailey was a married woman(sadly hadn’t noticed that in the book blurb). Add in the extra drama with his roommate Skye and just didn’t live up to my expectations.
I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.
I was really excited about this book just from the title and the synopsis. However, I’m not so sure Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend was really the book for me.
I didn’t like that the hook up was with a married woman, even though her marriage wasn’t typically a marriage, Victoria Blue is still an awesome writer and storyteller. I just don’t think this was for me.
