There's a part where Presley shows Dixie how beautiful she is in front of a mirror that made me shiver. I loved reading, Cowboy Charming, so much!

Cowboy Charming is the third book in the Holiday, Texas series by Dylann Crush, and follows the romantic path of Presley Walker, the town Casanova, and Dixie King, a preacher’s daughter with far too many responsibilities to have her own life! But as with the previous stories, there are many people more than happy to butt in and help you find your way. Family, friends, quirky, small town antics, and some flirty dialogue, all combine to make this a fun, heart-warming, thoroughly enjoyable and feel good read. I’m hoping there’s more to come in the Holiday, Texas world, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Cowboy Charming is a fitting capper to Dylann Crush’s stories about the extremely quirky town of Holiday, Texas. At turns extremely funny and filled with rip-roaring action, there’s a loose-limbed feeling to the whole enterprise that’s extremely appealing.

Preacher’s daughter Dixie King is spending her life slinging beer to cowboys and their cowgirls at the Rambling Rose. Presley Walker knows how to make her yearn for more, but Dixie’s decided she won’t go there – he only sees her as a friend, and he’s an impossible pain in the butt.

Then opportunity rears its head. Her boss puts her in charge of the Rose for a few weeks after a road accident, a runaway pig and injured family require his presence elsewhere. But Dixie can handle it – and running the Rose’s first ever chili cook-off and all of its attendant festivities – all by herself. Yet this will mean working directly with Presley, who uses the chance to flirt with her shamelessly while trying to care for an ornery pig named Ham Bone, the latest addition to the Rambling Rose’s coterie of porcine boarders.

Presley has always enjoyed winding Dixie up – which is why an unexpected kiss between them shocks him from the top of his head to the tips of his cowboy boots. Oh no – he enjoys teasing her until her cheeks turn red, but doesn’t expect her to give him the tingles in return! When Dixie turns to him for help learning the art of seduction so she can use it to charm a California-based land developer out of information about his plans for a plot of land next to the Rose, all bets are suddenly off. Can Dixie talk the investor into moving elsewhere and save the Rose, or will they need divine intervention?

Cowboy Charming is definitely a rib-tickling comedy first and foremost, though its sparky, sassy romance is definitely going to be a solid crowd pleaser for lovers of western romance. It’s fast-paced and stuffed with silliness and action - I really enjoyed how out there it got, and how it played with southern romance tropes while having a ton of great time on its own.

Dixie and Presley are both a lot of fun. While Dixie seems like a good girl, she’s got her wild streak – and she’s smart and ambitious to boot. Presley is a rogue but the kind of rogue who’s caring and quick on his feet. They’re delightful together, one heck of a pairing.

I have to give Dylann Crush a lot of credit – she knows how to blend humor and sentiment very well. The chili cook-off portions of the book are hilarious and she has a real verve for the small-town, somewhat redneck-y feeling of southern life that really works for the series and provides belly laughs for the reader. I loved the subplot with Dixie trying to reel in her outrageous grandmother, and anything having to do with Presley’s book-long struggle with Ham Bone. There are some engaging characters to be found – like toad-obsessed Kermit, who becomes involved with Dixie’s Gram. The problem’s solved in an amusing way that employs classic southern tropes – and a climactic poker game!

Overall, Cowboy Charming is a fun, big-hearted romance that’s a really great little romp. Readers should dig its wacky hometown feel, and come back for seconds –or thirds

It’s been quite a bit since I’ve reviewed an ARC here, but when I got the opportunity to read the latest in Dylann Crush’s Holiday, Texas series, I nearly jumped for joy. Before I even started this novel, I went back and revisited one of my favorite fictional towns by picking up All-American Cowboy (Charlie and Beck) and Cowboy Christmas Jubilee (Jinx and Cash). I couldn’t wait to mentally walk through the doors of the Ramblin’ Rose, grab a Lone Star, and stay a spell for Cowboy Charming.

I was especially excited to find that quirky, sassy Dixie and the charismatic prankster aka Presley were to be the featured match in this book. Unfortunately, it felt like Dixie lost a little too much of her redheaded temper; and poor old Pres lost a bit of his edge as well. I mean what happened to the guy who put a rubber snake in Cash’s Christmas tree, or stole a replacement decoration from the local liquor store? Yeah, we all eventually grow up, but I didn’t expect both of these characters to lose their spunk.

Slightly disheartened, I pushed through only to find that the plot was a little too simple for my taste. No interfering townsfolk abducting a hero, or pig and pup almost knocking out Christmas can be found in this one. In a lot of ways, the Holiday hijinks were missing from this novel. Dixie and Presley spent so much time in their own heads, the romance between Gram and Kermit became more fun to follow. Heck, even Ham Bone and Pork Chop seemed to have a more exciting tale.

Overall, I’m giving this book three stars. While this venture isn’t my favorite in the series, I’ll be back to see what happens to Statler, Strait, and Dwight?!? – I mean who doesn’t want to see what kind of trouble the town mechanic can find in his own story. Editing gets an A- (but there was a note that formatting and typos would be fixed before the final publication). Though not overused, the sheer existence of F-bombs could potentially turn readers away (I’m looking at you, mom). If I purchase this book, it’ll most likely be because I don’t want to have a gap in my collection of the series. Like I said earlier, Charming’s not for me, but I’ll be ready for the next trip to Holiday. ;-)

I received a copy of Cowboy Charming by Dylann Crush via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Dixie is the sweetheart of Holiday, Texas. She is the town preacher’s good daughter, and has never said an unkind word about anyone. Presley is everyone’s favorite bad boy in Holiday, Texas. If his cavalier attitude and prowess with women is almost legendary, Why has he been feeling that something is missing in his life. Dixie and Presley are thrown together to run the local honkey tonk when its owners are out of town. Can two opposites work together toward a common goal? And if they do, will magic happen?

Throw in a few crazy senior citizens and you never know what will happen. This is the latest installment in the Holiday, Texas series, and it’s full of fun!

Book 3, but could be read alone. This is Dixie, a preacher's daughter and Presley, the wild man-whore story. I enjoyed this one, and of course the pet pigs are a blast. Would have preferred without the evil land grab people, but other than that enjoyed the story. Would recommend, a good summer read.

This is Dixie and Presley‘s book, it’s the third book in the Holiday Texas series. Dixie is a small-town preachers daughter she’s used to having a lot on her plate and keeping tabs on her flighty grandmother! She is set to handle the honky-tonks first ever chili cook off! Presley is holidays cowboy Casanova, he’s perfect to tutor the local good girl to learn how to go bad! Now he said to help the local chili cook off so nothing goes wrong! Presley and Dixie work together to save their hometown and keep the chili cook off to go smooth, if only they can learn to trust each other enough to fall in love! I was definitely surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this book! It Definitely had some steam to it it was really funny and her grandmother was a hoot! I highly recommend reading this one it’s definitely worth the read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
