I can fully admit I was not that big a fan of the first book in this series so I waited quite a while to pick up this second book in the series, skeptical that it would be worth my time. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed this story and Colt and Belle were characters I found myself liking a lot as I read their story of tragedy and trauma and watched them fall in love. This series is one with a rather unique premise on the story of shifters and their interactions with vampires. Mortal enemies doesn’t even begin to cover it in my opinion as the vampires are actively seeking ways to bring the death of every shifter they come across. Additionally this idea of huge packs of shifters living on ranches in the west is intriguing as the packs are insulated and very against “rogue” shifters coming into their territory, when most of the rogues aren’t such by choice. There seemed to be a bit of a political statement buried in there but I like the premise all the same. Belle is just one such rogue wolf, she is on the run from the packs that want to hold her accountable for crimes she didn’t commit, just because she was in the vicinity by unfortunate circumstance, but when one passionate encounter with the Grey Wolf high commander changes her life, she has to decide if she is willing to change her wolf identity to have a future with the man she is beginning to think might be integral to her happiness. Colt has lived with secrets his whole life, ones that have left him alone most of his life, even surrounded by friends and family in his pack, but when he meets Belle he finds himself instantly drawn to the sexy she-wolf until he learns her true identity. The consequences of their time together are long reaching, and when she returns to Wolf Pack Run, risking her freedom and safety, in order to update him on those facts, Belle and Colt have to decide if a future together is worth risking everything to be together. I loved Bell’s character. Even when she was terrified and backed into a corner she never lost her sass or fire for life and freedom, fighting back every step of the way. She is passionate about her calling in life, determined to do what’s right no matter the cost, protective of those she loves, and sweet to those that earn her devotion. I really liked her with Colt and it was obvious from the beginning that he admired and desire him as much as she feared him. Colt was an enigma for sure, but his strength and sweetness with Belle and those that he considered weaker than him was admirable. He was the kind of kickass, large-than-life, and dangerous male that every woman wants and their back—and in their bed—and that no man wants as their enemy. The heat between these two was evident from the first moment, even when they were caught in the middle of battle, but their quieter moments as they got to know one another were what made me really believe their love story. I am looking forward to more in this series now and really getting into this interesting and unique concept to be sure. Maybe another author to add to my favorites list too.

Colt Cavanaugh has grown up in the Grey Wolf pack. He has worked his way up in their army and currently holds the title of high commander. However, he’s living a lie. He wasn’t born a Grey Wolf, but was sired by one of the members or an enemy pack, The Wild Eight. The previous packmaster found Colt when he was a child grieving over his dead mother and took him in. James claimed Colt was his son from a previous affair and Colt swore he’d never let anybody know the truth. If his pack ever found out he could lose everything he holds dear.
Belle Beaumont was born a rogue and has always longed for a family and pack. That desire led her to being tricked into becoming a part of the Wild Eight and being shackled to an abusive alpha wolf. There is a price on her head and she’s on the run, but during her escape she runs into Commander Cavanaugh. He ends up saving her from a group of vampires while suffering great injury to himself. She can’t just leave him there, so she takes him to a nearby rogue house to give him the treatment he needs.
While trying to flee Belle overheard the vampires discussing their plans to abduct Colt. Colt insists that Belle come back with him to tell the others what she heard. He offers to clear her name and get the price removed from her head so she can finally be free. The only catch is that she’ll be going with the appearance of being Colt’s prisoner!
Colt and Belle have an instant attraction to one another. Colt doesn’t do relationships, but offers a night of passionate sex. One night together pushes both of their boundaries and changes everything. Belle would do anything to have a pack of her own, but giving in to the feelings he has for Belle, could cause Colt to lose his!
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was just in the mood for a werewolf shifter story. I found the start of the book to be rather slow, but once things started heating up between Belle and Colt I didn’t want to put the book down!
I enjoyed Colt which shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody who knows me or follows my reviews because I’ve said it numerous times: I love the cocky male leads in my books! Colt did have morals though and a soft side to boot.
Belle was a tough character as well. She’s been through a lot in her life and Colt definitely put her through things as well!
This book has some great secondary characters who I look forward to getting to know in the future. I loved the banter between them all. You can see how much of a family the Grey Wolves truly are with how they interact with one another.
This was a really enjoyable read and I didn’t feel I was missing anything by not having read book one of the series. I hope to continue this series in the future and get to know these cowboy soldiers even more!

It's a great book !
Kait Ballenger continues her Seven Range Shifters in this second book in the series. Colt and Belle were great characters. Colt was the high commander for the Grey wolf pack and extremely loyal to his leader. Belle was considered an outsider to the packs. The chemistry was off the charts hot but the star crossed couple had a rough road to travel for their happy ending.
I love the paranormal world building of this series. It is original and a much needed breath of freshness to this reader. The characters are endearing and strongly written. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I have mixed emotions on this book. I enjoyed the characters and the majority of the plot, however I felt like I was missing pieces. I will try the next book in the series.

A four star for my first read from this author.
Not a big fan of paranormal romance genre, but I can enjoy Sherrilyn Kenyon or JR Ward's.
First of all, so sorry if I got the wrong terms in my review. One thing that always put me in trouble with this particular genre is their specific terms that contemporary romance don't have.
A high commander in the wolf pack, Colt is aproud man. His pack is his live. His people is the one thing he give his loyalty fully. Until one female wolf.
Bella is a rogue. A wolf without a pack. A criminal for her connection to the rogue pack as their resident doctor.
Two wolf
Two secrets
Would they be one?
Or their secrets be to great to overcome?
First part where Colt and his men on the hunt for the vampire, it was exciting. The hunt, the action part, I can just see it in big screen. It's gonna be a great action scene.
For the romance part, I'll say it's slow burn. The lust is fast and hard. The steamy scene, is hot. But for the romance... Too much self doubt they should be able to talk about as adult but yeah... Too slow for me.
The ending is predictable.

Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is the 2nd book in Kait Ballenger’s Seven Range Shifters’ series which stars a new couple- Colt and Belle.
Take a hot tempered wolf shifter that's known there as the Commander, add a feisty rogue wolf shifter doctor, then throw into the mix red-hot action, chemistry and lies plus secrets...then a cast of supporting secondary characters which makes for a good read. It got the drama, angst, twists, turns, paranormal romance, family, and romance. Good job on the secrets that play out in the story and the romance between Colt and Belle.
My Rating: 4.1 stars ******

The second book in the Seven Range Shifters series. I didn’t read the first book in the series and while i was able to follow the story I did feel I missed some background.
It was my first book by this author, but I will read more of her books.
There was plenty of action is this book, a lot of interaction between the characters and a lot of sexual tension. I did wanted to slap Colt on his head a few times for being so stubborn. I loved how smart and sassy Belle was.

I liked this book and thought the concept behind the series was intriguing. I had not read book one of this series and it is my feeling that this did detract from my enjoyment. I did feel that I was a little out of the loop and that there were things that I should know and didn't. I'm assuming if I had read book one that would not have been the case. Still, I did enjoy this romance. Belle and Colt were complex characters and I really liked them together. The storyline provides plenty of tension, drama, danger, humor, heat and romance. I will definately be checking out more books from this series.

“Who doesn’t love werewolves plus if they’re cowboys? Yes, so appealing! Cowboy’s in Wolf’s Clothing was like freshen air to me. I’m so used to werewolves books because I love them and this one was different in a perfect way!
A story about loyalty, family and bonding with the perfect mix of romance. You will fall in love with the characters. Supportive and kind of funny in their own style. I cannot wait to find out more about this series.
An amazing story that I highly recommend it you!”

COWBOY IN WOLF'S CLOTHING is the second book in Kait Ballenger’s Seven Range paranormal series about cowboy wolf shifters. Even though this book is part of a series, I think readers new to the series will still be able to follow along and enjoy this second installment without having read the previous book. Grey Wolf High Commander Colt Cavanaugh is a hard man – mainly because he has to be. As the guy in charge of the Grey Wolf armies, he must be mentally tough as well as physically tough. Any emotional attachment can be exploited by his enemy and used against him. Colt’s also a man of secrets, and the fewer people who are privy to them the better. Dr. Belle Beaumont is a she-wolf with closely guarded secrets of her own. Fate places these two in the same place at the same time and gives them a very inauspicious first meeting.
Even though this is a paranormal tale with werewolves and vampires, Kait Ballenger includes many elements of a classic Western. These cowboys are just as likely to use their claws and brute strength to defeat their enemies as well as a pistol or any other weapon at hand. They also many to fit in all the usual ranch chores in between unraveling the plots of evil vampires and rogue werewolves. With everything on his plate – as a cowboy and as a supernatural warrior – it’s difficult for Colt to drop his guard with Belle and figure out how she would factor in his life in a permanent capacity. Belle’s strength and intelligence tip the scales, in addition to the overpowering physical attraction he has toward her. Kait Ballenger tells this story from alternating perspectives, thus giving readers a better understanding of this complex hero and heroine. Belle yearns for a sense of family and belonging after experiencing everything in her past. She knows that Colt is not the type of man who wants the same things in life she does, so she tries to resist her attraction to him. Kait Ballenger does a wonderful job of conveying the inner torment and conflicted emotions of the two main characters, well also telling a thrilling story and making the romance between them believable.
COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is a sensual story about a battle-hardened werewolf cowboy and the woman who loves him. Several of the supporting characters have intriguing stories that I can’t wait to read about in future books to see how they end. I look forward to reading Kait Ballenger’s next Seven Range romance.

The Story in 4 Sentences or Less: Colt Cavanaugh has always been to defend his pack from its enemies, as High Commander of the Grey Wolf pack it’s his job to make sure that things run as smoothly as possible. So when Colt catches wanted woman Belle Beaumont trying to run away, Colt has no choice but to capture her and bring her in. Doesn’t matter if there’s a strong attraction between them and Belle’s presence soothes Colt in ways he’s never felt before, he’s got a terrible secret that could destroy his life if anyone found out.
Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? Kait Ballenger’s got a good thing going with her Seven Range Shifter series, there’s lots of fast paced action coupled (See what I did there?) with seriously sexy chemistry between characters.
Case in point, Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing ‘s two leads, Colt Cavanagh and Belle Beaumont. There’s a star crossed lovers element going on that made their romance richer to me, Colt comes from the Grey Wolf pack while Belle is a Rogue, a wolf without a pack of her own. Like their name suggests, they’re not usually trustworthy. Colt and Belle manage to form a tenuous but persistent connection despite the fact that they’re both keeping some serious secrets. That in itself was a pretty big obstacle they had to overcome and I felt that these characters did their fair share of growing and letting down their guards long enough to build something real between them. I did love their sarcastic banter throughout the story, Colt could easily be the type to railroad a female with his dominant traits but Belle was tough enough to stand in his way and get him to see that his way isn’t always the right way. She had just enough strength to challenge Colt but also this vulnerability that called to the softer side of the warrior wolf. All in all these two were just a well balanced couple to me.
But it’s not just a romance that’s going on in this book, Colt and his pack are dealing with a pretty aggressive vampire problem that has more to do with Colt than he thinks. I love that the world the author built has the potential to expand into a fully fleshed out, complex paranormal society complete with sinister villains. I can’t wait to see where this series will go.
Click It or Skip It? Click It. The second book in her Seven Range Shifter series keeps to the brisk, action packed pace that its predecessor set and I couldn’t have been happier with the result.

This is a great follow-up to Cowboy Wolf Trouble, showing that this series will be fun to read. The trouble started immediately and spread throughout the book at the perfect pace. The drama wasn’t only from the vampires, but also from Colt and Belle themselves. Colt is the standoffish soldier and Belle, the skittish rogue with hidden mettle. They’re both dealing with their pasts and trying to move forward, thus giving them a nice depth of character. Their relationship built from instant attraction, to hot and spicy romance, to love. All this bound together with the pack camaraderie and the message that DNA isn’t the only thing that makes a family. I can’t wait for book 3 in this series.

I liked the idea behind this story, however, the execution was lacking. I did not read the first book in this series, so maybe the explanations for missing information were in there. But even if they were, some reiteration or adding on to the world building was needed. Like why are all rogue wolves outcasts? Including those born to rogues. Why are the Grey Wolves the it pack? Why do the Grey kids have the purest blood? Why are the Wolves and Vampire’s beefing? What is mating in this world? If pregnancy can occur even if you’re not mated why wasn’t condom or birth control use a thing?
This story suffers from instalove, and in the worst way. The leads spent about 48 hours together the first go round. All of that time was spent with justifiable mistrust between them. I can understand how they ended up sleeping together. Because…hormones. But Belle expecting commitment from a man she met the day before was nuts. Then they spend about a month apart, and she returns making demands and criticizing the way Colt lives his life. And even though she spent a week on the ranch, none of that time was spent with Colt.
There was action, but there could’ve been a lot more. Like Colt’s month in Vampire captivity was skipped over. I’m no fan of torture porn, but that would’ve been the time for the reader to find out exactly what the Vampires are planning and what their endgame is. Colt’s great escape wasn’t shown but later briefly discussed. It would’ve been cool to read how resourceful and strong Colt is.
The book was short, and the basic ideas were good. So I may read the next book in the series. But it isn’t something I will be anticipating. This series seems to be filled with books you read to keep yourself busy while waiting for your fav author’s new release.

High Commander Colt Cavanaugh has spent his life defending his pack and its sprawling ranchlands. But the hardened Grey Wolf soldier has a dark secret that could destroy his life forever. Belle Beaumont is a wanted woman, on the run from the wolf pack that kidnapped her. When fate brings her face-to-face with the Grey Wolf High Commander himself, rivalry becomes passion, and suddenly more than just her freedom is at stake. Colt will fight to the death for the healing Belle brings to his battle—worn heart—and for this cowboy wolf, all's fair in love and war..
This is the second book in this series and the second book I’ve read from this author. I loved it as much as I loved the first one. I really liked both Colt and Belle right from the beginning. I liked following along as the author unravelled who they really were, both to themselves and to others. I loved seeing Wes and Naomi again as well as the overall series continuation that was started in their book. I enjoyed the other characters that were also featured. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

I read the first book and thought it was a good book, so when the 2nd book Cowboy in Wolf's clothing was offered I immediately sprang at the chance to read the book. Though it was 352 pages, Cowboy In Wolf's Clothing was a quick read. The romance was light compared to some of the books that I read and review, but the story still grabbed you with the diverting storyline.
Cowboy In Wolf's Clothing has everything a reader comes to expect when deciding to read a paranormal romance. A great book to read, if you are looking to be greatly entertained.

It is the second book in Kait's new Seven Range Shifters series, which is about werewolves who are also cowboys. But you probably guessed that from the title(s). At first, I found the idea interesting, and maybe even was a little bit sceptical about the theme, because I have never read about one werewolf who lives in a ranch and rides a horse before, never mind more wolves. But then it started to get to me - cowboys are popular nowadays in reader circles, and werewolves, too. What could go wrong, if a talented writer like Kait Ballenger puts together the two? It's like getting two for the price of one, right?
Turns out I was right. These men are seriously hot. Here we have our hero, Colt Cavanaugh, who is a tough high commander, the top warrior of the pack, but who also can be charming and seductive. (I like his nickname, but I won't spoil you that.) But the heroine also has a kind of dual personality, because we see she can stand up to alpha wolves, in other situations, she can get frightened and even show signs of weakness, if we can say that. Belle Beaumont is not the strong warrior type of woman, but rather a less hardened doctor. She doesn't really know how to fight physically, but that doesn't mean she is a pushover. Oh no, she really is viper-tongued at times, as Colt tends to think about her. I really loved the couple's banter in this story.
I'll try to write this review spoiler-free, but I can say that, like with the first book, both of our main characters have secrets, and we can see how such things can define one's personality, life, their thinking and actions. Colt sure wouldn't be the controlled and hard man he is, if he hadn't made that promise to his (step)father. Or if there was even one member of the pack who knew the truth. We also get an example that sometimes we don't give a chance to the good or even the best things that happened to us in our lives, because we are sticking to our own, sometimes ovverrated, rules.
Belle's big secret is kind of known to us readers from the start, but that doesn't mean there aren't others, ones she herself doesn't know about... All in all, these make a story with enough angst, surprises and turning points to keep us on the edge of our seat, reading until the end.
As a negative, I can only mention that I felt the ending is a little bit hectic. Some scenes could have been longer and deeper, some happenings and (mainly) emotional wounds could maybe deserve more pages, for example the ones in connection with the baby at the end, to not say more. But maybe it is just me.
Either way, I can't not mention the side characters, who will hopefully all get their own HEA. I loved the glimpses of the relationships and the dynamics of the pack, and the different personalities. I feel like we we got to know better some characters, and met some new ones, as well. We can know about the main couple of the next book (I can't wait!), but I know I also really really hope for another pairing of a certain packmaster and a warrior she-wolf.
I can say that the first book was a good start, and I think this second one is even better. I have high hopes for the aforementioned next installments.

4.25 stars--COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is the second instalment in Kait Bellanger’s contemporary, adult SEVEN RANGE SHIFTERS erotic, paranormal romance series, a spin off from the author’s EXECUTION UNDERGROUND series. This is wolf shifters doctor Belle Beaumont, and High Commander Colt Cavanaugh’s story line. COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information for the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Colt and Belle) COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING follows the building relationship between wolf shifters doctor Belle Beaumont, and High Commander Colt Cavanaugh. Dr. Belle Beaumont, a rogue wolf without a pack, has been imprisoned by the Seven Range Shifters. Upon her escape, Belle would come face to face with High Commander Colt Cavanaugh, a wolf that stirred something deep within our story line heroine, something she is hoping to explore. An attack by a group of vampires and half-vampires leaves our hero struggling for his life, a life of which Belle is about to save. What ensues is the building relationship between Belle and Colt, and the potential fall-out as Belle discovers the truth about our story line hero, a truth he has been hiding most of his life.
Colt Cavanaugh is first and foremost a warrior, a shifter, and a cowboy at heart but Colt has been targeted by a group of vampires who know more about our hero than the pack he represents. Fighting for his life, Colt struggles with his attraction to a woman who could threaten any semblance of peace our hero has earned. At war with the rogue pack known as Wild Eight’s as well as the ongoing battle with a group of vampires hunting on their lands, the Seven Range Shifters must come to a decision as it pertains to the threat against all of their lives. Meanwhile, Belle Beaumont is desperate to escape the strangle hold of both the Wild Eights, and the Seven Range Shifters. Not quite a prisoner but detained none the less, our heroine struggles with her attraction to a man who doesn’t do relationships, and is more into one-night stands. A series of attacks against the Seven Range Shifters finds Belle on the run, not only for her life but to escape the man with whom she has fallen in love.
The relationship between Belle and Colt is one of immediate attraction but Colt doesn’t do relationships, and Belle is in no position to settle down. Belle gives as good as she gets including her one on one banter with our story line hero. With her freedom granted for services rendered, Belle heads to place unknown until news of a different kind changes her plans. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story lines.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Wes Calhoun and Naomi Evans (Cowboy Wolf Trouble #1), Colt’s sister Sierra, Packmaster Maverick Grey and his sister Maeve, Malcolm, Dean, Austin, IT specialist Blaze, vampire Lucas, and several members of the Seven Range Shifters and Wild Eights packs.
COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is a passionate story of family, friendship, bonding and blood. The premise is dramatic, energetic and engaging; the characters are edgy and animated; the romance is spicy and hot. COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is an imaginative and intense addition to Kait Ballenger’s SEVEN RANGE SHIFTERS series.

Colt lives for his pack.
Belle was born a rogue, who wishes that she could have a packs protection. When she is mistaken as a pack member, Belle and Colt collide in what is sure to be a chemistry intense relationship.
I found Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing to be a someone angsty, lots of entertaining read. Flirty and fun, with some serious heat brewing just under all that honor, service and duty.
Well-paced, with lots of development for future installments. Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing has definitely left me wanting more in the Seven Range Shifter Series.

This was an amazing read that had me hooked from the very first word all the way to the end.
The story is amazing. It will keep you interested from start to finish. The speed at which the story proceeds is the perfect speed. It is not to fast nor to slow just the perfect speed to be able to comfortably read. The characters are amazing. You will fall in love with them instantly and want to know as much about them as you can. All you want is for them to succeed in their wants. I cannot wait to read more about these amazing characters.
This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it. Read it now, you will not be sorry.
An amazing read that has to be experienced.

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing is a great sequel to Cowboy Wolf Trouble. A story of family, bonding and romance with engaging characters, a wonderful support cast and a good story. If I had anything slightly negative to say it would be the necessity of a certain word but as I might have felt it wasn’t necessary is the writer’s choice. I look forward to reading more and will recommend this book and series
