This is a first for me by Kait Ballenger and as a second in a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I love paranormal romance and this was definitely not a disappointment. As a cowgirl myself, I enjoyed the ranch setting and adored Silver. The chemistry between Colt and Belle was electric! Filled with mystery, action and a stunning revelation at the end, I couldn't have asked for a better story.

Thank you to NetGalley and SOUREBOOKS Casablanca for providing me with a copy of this book.
The opinion I am providing is completely my own.

He has spent is life defending his pack, but High Commander Colt Cavanaugh has a dark secret that could destroy his life forever. A wanted woman on the run, fate brings Belle Beaumont face –to-face with the High Commander himself and suddenly more than just her freedom is at stake. For the healing Belle brings to his battle-worn heart, Cold will fight to the death and for this cowboy wolf, all’s fair in love and war…

The second book in the ‘Seven Range Shifters’ series is a rough and tough in a cowboy wolf kind of way… which means that readers get a mix of dark, broody, sexy cowboy wolf that charms as well as makes readers shiver in delight. Belle and Colt are two very strong, bold characters that have a sensually stimulating chemistry that not only draws them together but sparks lots of feisty and passionate encounters of every kind. The relationship has some obstacles and their pasts and secrets cause lots of distress and emotional turmoil allowing the readers to really get a feel for the hero and heroine.

The plot is fast paced with lots of thrilling suspense and excitement as Colt tries to convince the Seven Range Pact that they the vampires are up to something no good. Readers are kept on the edge of the seat with deadly attacks and unexpected twists that changes things as fast as a runaway train. This world is quite complex, sexy and full of unique elements that readers can really get into and this story includes an eccentric horse that makes everyone chuckle. From the fiery clashes of the hero and heroine to the riveting, intense and explosive story, this romance is one that readers can really sink their teeth into.

COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING continues the Seven Range Shifters series with Colt’s story. We get a bit deeper into the running of Colt’s pack, get a better feel for how this pack works and plays together. Add Belle into that mix, an on the run rogue wolf who happens to also be a very capable doctor and you have a story that will draw you in and keep you there until the final page. I fell in love with the idea of this series with the first book, and I’m now definitely hooked for the rest of the stories to be told.

Both Belle and Colt are keeping secrets, dangerous secrets and at times they are going to be the worst enemies to their own love story. I loved the banter between them which simply made them more realistic to me. There is certainly danger all around them, secrets to be told, trust to be given, sizzling steamy moments and a very good tale to be told in COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING.

Yes, I’m being vague because for some (if not all stories talked about in reviews) you need to experience this one firsthand for yourself. But, I will say you will enjoy yourself and be looking forward to the next story to be released.

If you love a good Romance within the Shifter Romance world, then you’ll want to pick up Colt and Belle’s story soon.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I received an ARC through Net Galley and voluntarily leave my honest review.
This is a new to me author and as I hadn't managed to read the first book in this series (I will though) before this one I did find is was perfectly ok to read as a stand alone as all the important info was there, I didn't feel lost at all at anytime throughout the book. I did enjoy her descriptive writing and it was told as dual POV. I did feel that the first half of the book was a little slower then the second, but a minor thing really.
Colt, the hot alpha, had big secrets and as you got into his past you could understand a little more his reluctance on forming a relationship with Belle. I feel like his capture and rescue by the vampires was a little bit glossed over. But I enjoyed the chemistry these two main characters had together.
I liked Belle and thought she was such a strong character, surviving all she had and still manage to become a Doctor, I thought that was impressive, bit of a twist at the end that I wasn't expecting but thought was a nice touch, in relation to her family.
Some great secondary characters, who I look forward to hearing more from, especially the alpha rouge that Maeve seemed to entranced by, hoping they get a story!
Overall a very enjoyable read and I look forward to the next one in this series and also checking out what else this author has on offer.

This second book in the series was really good and I loved the angsty feel to it. It also had a star crossed lover vibe that I was eating up. I loved that Colt was such a knight in shining armor hero, he was all duty and responsibility and honor and I loved it. Belle on the other hand was super sweet and vulnerable but also strong and smart and not afraid to call Colt out when he needs it. There is some seriously flirty and sarcastic banter between these two that had the heat level always simmering.

The shifter world and politics get a bit more rounded out in this book and we get a lot more interaction with the other Gray Pack wolves too. I'm already anxious to read about Sierra and Maverick (totally shipping these two!) and Maeve and the vigilante, Rogue (more please!)

I am definitely a fan of this author and this series. The writing style has gotten stronger and the pacing is fast but the content is rich. You can see the improvement as the story progresses. Only issue I had was the way things were brushed off when it came to Belle and the consequences of that one night. I felt like there should have been more of an explanation other than the telling of facts after it happened. Something so traumatic needed a bit more closure in my opinion, for both her and Colt.

Would I recommend? This is a shifter series that is definitely worth a read. It's different and gritty but the romance theme is spot on! If you read paranormal romance and love that love always triumphs over evil, you'll like this one.

Since I did read the first one I jumped into this one. I was surprised to that I enjoyed it even more too. The way this is written is unique that it also mixes paranormal with the everyday making it seem quite normal because you know it is. This one brings us close to Colt and Belle. They each have their own story with us taking in every bit of it. The emotions will run high at times with us getting into it deeper. Oh my these are some cowboys I would not teaching me a thing or two. Did so like seeing this relationship build and the chemistry churn.

This is my first time reading this author. I really enjoyed this book. The setting and plot points were very well done and flowed well. My only issues would be the two main characters. There were a few inconsistencies that were difficult. Colt, is supposed to be this super tough leader who has been through incredible situations where he triumphed and yet, he is so insecure. He has worked all his life for his pack and still feels at any moment they would just kick him out. His insecurities really don't jive with who he is supposed to be. And Belle, she wants to be a part of a pack so bad, why didn't she just ask them? The pack's second in command was from an enemy pack. It kinda just does not make sense. Both characters are supposed to be so strong, yet they are both so insecure. This was the one thing that really bothered me with this story. Putting that aside, I really did enjoy the story, it was very good at world building.

Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is the second book in Kait Ballenger’s Seven Range Shifters series, and this one was full of surprises. I enjoyed the second book compared to the first because of everything that happened in this book. Kait Ballenger had me in shock several times in this book due to where the book was going and how it ended.

This book is all about the sexy High Commander Colt Cavanaugh and beautiful Rogue wolf Belle Beaumont. These two together will have a lot of tension and drama. They may look and act as they come from two different packs, but they have a lot more in common than they genuinely know from each other. Oh boy, do they have a lot in common and are stubborn.

Belle Beaumont is a wanted woman due to her connections with the Wild Eight Pack of wolves. She thought she was going to be a part of the family/pack finally. Unfortunately, she finds out who the Wild Eight is and now she’s on the run. Unfortunately, she gets caught by the Grey Wolves but manages to escape from them. She ends up running into the High Commander himself, and now she’s in more significant trouble with the sexy control freak. Colt knows Belle is wanted by his pack, but for some reason, he wants to help her. It could be that he has quite a bit in common with the Rogue Wolf. Belle ends up having to save Colt from an attack with a certain vampire in the book who has his agenda with Colt and the Grey Wolves. Both Belle and Colt end up in the crossfires of what is going on with the vampires. It’s up to Colt to let the Grey Wolves pack master Maverick know and the Seven Range Shifters.

This book deals with Belle being a Rogue Wolf and only wanting to go back to her original life, but she ends up falling head over heels for the High Commander. Colt also has feelings for the Rogue Wolf, but he can’t be with her. He tells her from the start he doesn’t do relationships. He’s known as Commander Casanova, but Belle makes him want to change. He’s being stubborn though.

There were times I wanted to throttle Colt for how he was treating Belle in the book. He wasn’t as bad as Wes in the first book though of the series. Colt is a bossy wolf who is used to getting his way. He meets his match with Belle. Belle is an intelligent, beautiful wolf who has been a loner for a while. She’s wanted a pack but tried to hide her feelings about it. I adored her character even when she had to decide on telling Colt something that happened.

This book has some big shockers in it, especially with the main characters and their backgrounds. The ending is what had me in complete shock. There also were certain other characters that were in the light of this story that I want to find out more about because of their personalities. I want to know about a particular wolf that was with Maeve (Maverick’s sister) that helped her and Belle. I also want to know more about Blaze, Austin, Sierra, and also Maverick (the pack leader). I could go on and on about the other characters. I can’t wait to see where Kait takes readers in this series. If you are looking for a paranormal romance that has Wolves as Cowboys, then I recommend this series. I love how Kait mixes paranormal with western elements in these stories and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Book 2 of the Seven Range Shifters series, “Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing” follows Grey Wolves High Commander Colt Cavanaugh and surgeon/all around physician Belle Beaumont. It is not a match made in heaven; rather, it is a match made during a war and a struggle for freedom, making it so much sweeter.

Kait Ballenger’s heroes and heroines are not Disney Princes or Princesses. They are not bad boys or bad girls either. They are painted in so many shades of gray (no pun intended to the infamous book) that they are so real, albeit they also have the paranormal aspect written into their DNA.

Take them out of the verdant Montana ranch setting and the mystical aspect attached to the characters, Ballenger’s heroes, be they are Colt and Belle, or Wes and Naomi can be people living next door to you. That is the reason why these characters are so relatable. And that is also the reason why Ballenger, as Gena Showalter, New York Times bestselling author described, “a treasure you don’t want to miss.”

This is only the second book that I have read written by Kait Ballenger and I can tell you now that she is already on my Authors Watch list, which means that any book that she releases is on my must-read list.

“Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing” is about romantic love as much as it is about family. It’s also about loyalty, duty and being true to oneself. Though not a tearjerker, it will surely tug at your heartstrings.

“Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing” is Rated T for Teens. Thematic paranormal violence and some sex scenes.

I was very eager to read the second book of seven range shifters after reading the other and love the fact is about Colt.
Colt Cavanaugh is the High Commander of the Grey Wolves pack with secrets that plans to never tell a living soul. Belle, born rogue, is a she-wolf with a strong character that is on the run and happens to meet Colt.
I like Colt because is very loyal to his pack even with all the stress and pain he must handle. Then Belle comes and challenges Colt’s way of life, he goes against his rules and the chemistry between them couldn’t be better and I couldn’t stop reading because, despite all the thoughts that they can’t be together, it’s inevitable they are drawn to each other. The “fight” they put with each other is funny to read and that’s what makes their relationship so interesting.
Didn’t have much action but the suspense and danger were there. The story involves more their feelings and their past and not very action but still very good reading.

Seven Range Shifters #2, I liked this book about as much as I liked the first book, which really wasn't all that much. Once again I couldn't connect to the main character, Colt, even with his in depth backstory I ended up just pushing myself to the second half of the book. Belle was fine she was a little wimpy for my tastes, she's a born rogue and steers clear of packs, because packs hate rogues, and she got mixed up with the Wild Eight Pack due to her own insecurities and yet life by herself on her own and she can't defend herself, ehhhh, but she does have a backbone. I did believe the chemistry between them the strong physical attraction mixed with all their pheromones and them not wanting to act on it because of current circumstances but taking the risk anyways, well at least for one night because Colt's past and the secret he has kept from everyone in the pack.

I liked the second half of the book better, the first half aside from one or two fight scenes was really slow but the action and the suspense picked up a bit and the story has a better pace and kind of flows easier. The secondary characters I liked them, I think they were written better in this book than the first. This can be read as a stand alone, all the stuff you need to know is given. Overall, the story was good, even if it took a bit to get there. I always like it when the vampires are the bad guys. If the next book is going to be about who I think it going to be about, which Ballenger kinda teased, I'm looking forward to that one.

An absolutely fun, fast paced read, cowboys and werewolves, oh my ! This is the first book by Kait I’ve read but I’ll be back for more. I read this in one sitting. I loved Colt as bone headed as he was, Belle was amazingly strong and sassy, I loved she never gave in or backed down. Great chemistry and a brilliant fun adorable story.

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing has it all! Take one cantankerous wolf shifter know as Commander Casanova because one night is all you’ll get from him, add in a sassy rogue wolf shifting doctor, mix well with lies and secrets, then add in some steaming hot chemistry and you’ll have the recipe for Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing. This story is a convoluted tale of two shifters that are meant to be together getting in their own way and boy is it fun to be along for the ride. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.

Enjoyed Colt and Bella' s story. There is plenty of action, some humor, quirky, and vampires too. Colt has things to work through from the past, Bella is strong, sassy and has to figure out where she belongs. It is the second in the series but is a standalone. I received a copy through netgallery and this is my honest review.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. This is the second book in the Seven Range Shifters series and even though I hadn’t read the previous books I was just so lost within this story that I didn’t even care that I hadn’t read the previous books. I most definitely will read more by this author.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a whirlwind of events and emotions throughout this book! Colt's hands are kind of tied with his position on how he can handle Belle - an escaped she-wolf, who is thought to be a member of the Wild Eight pack. But then things are not always as they seem in this book!

Colt has a huge secret that he doesn't want revealed but when you look at the way the Grey Wolf pack handled another pack member, it is kind of surprising that he is so worried but I guess it is all tied into the promise that he made to his "father" - James.

Belle was not a voluntary member her pack and basically just tried to survive. She also has some secrets that she does not want to come out and at the end, even she learns more about her past!

During all this drama, add in the attacks from the vampires and it is non-stop action plus a wedding thrown into the mix. Hope that we will see more of the Rogue and Maeve?? That looks like an interesting story!

I liked the idea of Wolves working as Cowboys as I was very intrigued as to how the livestock would deal with these predators around them. Well we are introduced to Colt who realises that the Vampires are hunting on his Packs land. Unknown to the dangerously efficient Colt though is the fact that a Rogue female is close by and about to attempt to steal his horse ! Belle is on the run and has good reason to fear Colt but oddly doesn't. Oh yes Belle knows he is a danger to her but there's no denying their chemistry and Colt might have his own rules but Belle is just the woman to challenge every one of them !
This story had everything I expected from this author, alpha male and strong female to really throw him off balance. I loved the quirky horse that brought Colt and Belle together as it added humour. If I'm honest although there is action and danger here it wasn't a huge part of the overall plot. No that came down to Colt facing his past and embracing his future. There's a slight tease near the end of a Rogue who will surely make his appearance felt soon but for now it's all about Colt and Belle and the constant snark that clearly keeps their relationship steaming along !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Belle is a rogue wolf on the run from the Grey Wolf Pack. She is a doctor being held prisoner by vampire's. Colt is the High Commander of the Grey Wolf Pack. He stumbles upon Belle while hunting bad vampire's, she saves him and he promises her freedom. This was a fabulous read. Belle was a strong character not a damsel in distress. Colt was rugged, sexy and has a very big secret. The story was well written with interesting characters and an engaging storyline. The story had angst, danger, passion and romance. Highly recommend!

Colt has reached a high rank but is hiding a secret of his parentage. Belle is rescued from a vampire by Colt. She in return saves him later. Belle is not a damsel in distress. She is a trained physician who can take care of herself. She is attracted to Colt but he reminds her time and again that nothing can come of their union except one night. There’s a sense of community within the pack that calls to Belle, although she is rogue. Colt takes his responsibilities seriously and battles with his feelings. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
