I enjoyed learning the reasons behind the house names. Historical Illustrations accompany the text. Enjoy this arm chair travel.

If you are curious about old houses and how they got their name here in Nova Scotia, then this is the book for you. Very interesting history and the narrative was not too long so you can remember the places. I enjoyed reading it and recognized many of the towns and houses. That made it much more enNo table, but anyone with a love of history will enjoy it also.

A nice look at the different houses and history of Nova Scotia. A good look at places that are of interest. Some are a brief introduction to the building, others have a longer explanation of the building and the people who lived within them. IF looking for a start of Canadian or maritime history this could be a nice start.

Who lived there and what's the story behind the name? To be honest I never gave much thought as to how a house got its name, but was definitely intrigued when I saw this book. This was a very interesting read. I loved the pictures of the gorgeous old homes. It's also fascinating to see how much was brought over from "across the pond." This may be the book you didn't know you needed to read!
