A lose up look at film making an insiders view of making this film in Nova Scotia .Rare to get a close up view of the process the creative end.Interesting eye opening will be looking forward to seeing this film.#netgallet #the onlyfilmintown
Loved this behind the scenes look at a film made in a small town, in Nova Scotia by Stuart Cresswell. Interestingly, that he used "unknowns" for many of the parts instead of Hollywood stars. Cormack Vertue, who is autistic was especially interesting. This is a young man who succeeds against all odds. This is a lovely book and I highly recommend it. Very interested in seeing the film.
At times this book strayed too far into a filmmaking tale (with a dose of bitterness) but overall it was insight I to an often glamorized industry. I liked how the author acknowledged his own faults. It gave me a new appreciation for filmmaking
This memoir captures the experience of creating a film for the big screen against all odds in Nova Scotia. I love how the film is about an autistic person, as I work with autistic students. I will definitely be checking out this movie after reading this book.
