I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet, somewhat predictable novel. It was a fun read.

Simple and light read. All the events were really unique and Chloe and Alex's relationship was beautiful.
I just felt book did not do justice to the description of social anxiety disorder. There were a lot of scenes mentioning that she struggles lot with it but hardly ones where she is actually shown struggling with it.
Apart form that it was an ok read.

This is a brilliant, laugh out loud, romcom that I thoroughly enjoyed! It deals with a range of issues with humour and empathy, and is a great story to escape into!

Chloe Piper has left her cheating husband to move with her dog, Ronnie, into her new home, Sunny Meadow Barn, on a select development. She’s secretly a talented author with a raunchy best selling debut novel but the marriage breakdown has undermined her self confidence and exacerbated her social anxiety disorder. However, the current residents in this new development don’t know about any of that and she finds herself agreeing to join the group activities organised by her new neighbours, Eleanor and Fairfax. Get ready for fun, frolics, escapades and romance in this heartwarming story where friendships help heal and love will find a way, once the secrets are shared . . . .

This is definitely one of my favourite reads, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and some of the activities the singletons get up to sound great fun, I might even be tempted to try some of them myself! There’s more than one couple finding love in this story but it is the supportive friendships which develop that are at the heart of them all. It has a real sense of family and growing together, a superb read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so!

I was given the opportunity to read this book thanks to NetGalley! This was such a cute, fun read about a woman starting over with a new home in the country after her marriage fails. It has it all. Romance, friendship, and a strong woman protagonist. I enjoyed it very much and will recommend to friends. Thanks again NetGalley!

Chloe Piper, romance author extraordinaire, is in for a bumpy ride - finding out that she has a low down cheat of a husband, she takes herself off with her loyal dog, Ronnie, to find some solitude and Sunny Meadow Farm seems just the perfect solution.....or does it? An uplifting, warm and delightful read with a very likeable protagonist and plenty of well written humour counteracting more serious and emotional issues. A perfect holiday read - from your reading nook or otherwise.

Cute, romantic, and sweet is this story. I loved the slow breaking of the shell the main character had molded herself into. It’s definitely a story anyone needing a feel good story should read.

Chloe Piper is a woman that suffers from social anxiety disorder. She writes a book under a false name that is kind of each but it quickly becomes a best seller. After finding out her husband has cheated on her Chloe starts over in another town. Suddenly Single is a fun, fast read that will have you cheering for Chloe.

Such a cute warm book. I loved the characters especially Chloe and the setting of the farm it made for such a fun, fast and feel good read. I could definitely see this being turned into a cute movie. Sort of predictable in parts but it made up for it with charm. Was it the best book I’ve ever read no but it was fun and fluffy and I really enjoyed it

I was provided this advance reader copy from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was intrigued by the book description, but skeptical because I had never read this author before and I like to stick with what I know. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this title and I look forward to reading more by this author. This is a nice, easy read - great for reading at the beach or in a hammock under a tree. The story takes place in England and some of the language is a bit off for American English, but you quickly get used to the style...and may even find yourself reading/talking in an English accent for the rest of the day! The characters are well developed and you find yourself rooting for not only the main character, but the supporting characters as well. While the plotline is typical of the "chick-lit" genre, it still kept you guessing until the end. I liked the unpredictability of the story. I will definitely be recommending this to anyone looking for their next vacation read!

Chloe Piper is a shy woman, who deals with social anxiety on a daily basis. This prevents her from meeting new people, being in a large crowd, going out shopping, going to parties, etc. Her knees buckle at the very thought of it. The routine Chloe had going for herself was all she needed, however, her husband needed more.

Chloe had heard the rumours endlessly about her husband running off with another woman, yet she thought nothing of it, why would her husband betray her like that? That is until she finds a meal for two receipt in her husband’s coat pocket and discovers that he has been having an affair with a model.

Chloe and her dog, Ronnie, escape to Sunny Meadow, which luckily for the two, is a newly built housing estate. Chloe begins to meet incredibly unique and quirky people who are always trying to get her out of the house, especially Felix and Eleanor, her neighbours and owners of a singles club. With Chloe’s family dying when she was a child, Chloe has always found it hard to be a person who gets involved in activities involving other people, so when she gets a little too tipsy one night and agrees to join this singles club, she knows she’s in for an extremely rocky roller-coaster ride.

This was the first book of Carol’s I had read and I absolutely loved every second of it. I related so much to Chloe’s struggles with social anxiety – it really does stop you from putting yourself out there and diving head first in to incredibly opportunities that you may never get the chance to experience again. The new faces around Chloe were extremely supportive of her, bringing her out of her shell and pushing her gently to get involved in activities surrounding the Singles Club.

Chloe is also an anonymous author to an extremely steamy novel and the fresh start away from past ex-husbands and friends, she focuses on writing her second novel and gets herself in to very awkward positions, causing for some great humour throughout the book.

The entirety of ‘Suddenly Single’ was actually consistently humorous and always had you on your toes, as to what Chloe would experience next. She tackled some fun activities and proved to herself that by being surrounded by the right people, she was able to be herself without any judgement and she even surprised herself by becoming quite competitive with the games and out-doing all of her components (aka new friends).

We also get to meet the lovely Alex Collins, who takes a liking to Chloe immediately and is easily a better man than her ex-husband could ever be. Their romance was slow-paced, focusing more on Chloe’s social anxieties and journey to writing her second novel, however, the outcome in the end was every type of wonderful and I really could see this book having a sequel – let’s hope Carol agrees!

Wonderful romantic comedy , but also strongly emotive, dealing with a character that suffers from anxiety was wonderful to read about and so relatable. It’s lovely to read about normal people with normal problems and anxiety, depression, mental health affects so many it should be in books more. I adored this book it spoke to me on so many levels as well as being a fun read. Thanks Carol.

Once again Carol Wyer has written a fabulous romantic comedy with Suddenly Single. However, amongst all the fun and warmth emanating from the pages the author has injected a serious subject within the storyline that would resonate with many people and Carol Wyer has dealt with this subject with humanity, honesty and empathy.
Recently single Chloe Piper is starting afresh in a new home at a premier new build estate in the Staffordshire hills. With her loyal four-legged companion, Ronnie, she soon starts to make friends with the neighbours, Eleanor and Fairfax and Alex the foreman of the building project. Eleanor and Fairfax run an events programme for singletons and Chloe and Alex find themselves invited along.
Chloe has suffered with debilitating anxiety since experiencing a tragedy as a child and she still suffers being in big crowds so going along to a new club is very daunting for her. However, the club was to prove a step in the right direction for Chloe and she soon starts making new friends and achieving small goals to help her self-esteem and anxiety. But a reminder from her past is never too far behind her and she soon fears for the control that this person had on her.
I loved that I could totally picture the brilliant team building/ice-breaker games that the club had created. The author has such a great imagination and I could definitely see this story being screened as a perfect romcom movie. Suddenly Single is full of fun, romance and plenty of feelgood vibes flowing through the story.

I just loved Carol's latest book. It's different to what Carol usually writes.
So when her new book "Suddenly Single" was available to read I was there and I was not disappointed. It was just an excellent read, great for a holiday or a quick read that will have you laugh out loud, and you maybe able to relate to some of this book.

Highly Recommend all of Carol's books.

Thank you, NetGalley and Canelo for giving the book in exchange for an honest review.

I am stronger than I think

This is the theme of the book that we are stronger than we ever think ourselves to be. This story by Carol Wyer brought out that fact in every page of the book.

The main character Chloe suffered from crippling social anxiety, and every chapter showed how she slowly tried to be strong in spite of it. Every day was a struggle. I understood that. I don't like being in large crowds or talking to numerous people. It scares me, I rarely attend my conferences due to that. So I got her main character Chloe.

It was quite brave when Cloe bought a house at Sunny Meadows Farm as a new start to her life, after her husband's infidelity. I could understand her need for solitude and peace. Soon she joined the Singleton Club, though under the influence of alcohol, and it brought about a change in her slowly and steadily. I could understand her good and bad days, days when she could be social and some when she could not. I found it quite real as I have days like that.

There were a few niggles, I didn't like the twerking video of the main character being uploaded on Instagram, I would never ever do that even to get over my fears/shyness. And romance shown did not feel real, there were no sparks. The book felt like a friend zone, but the chapters moved slowly for me. It wasn't the romantic comedy as the tag-line said.

The book was a great change of pace to my thrillers, it touched my heart in some ways. I could identify with the main character. I may not be brave enough to join such a Club, but it did make me feel not so lonely.

Suddenly Single is a book filled with friendship, fun and real deeper issues at its heart. All of this made me root for the main character even more as you see Chloe effectively starting again in a new home and coping with all the new experiences that this brings. There is a wonderful set of friendships within this book and it was fun to see everyone getting closer. Especially as you see this group of friends being there for Chloe to support and encourage her, I loved that! You also get to see her slowly but surely flourish and those friendships are a lovely part of her story. There is a good balance of lighter and more meaningful moments especially as you get to know Chloe and see her struggles.

Suddenly Single has a beautiful uplifting feeling as you see Chloe go on quite a journey. With every step she takes out of her comfort zone you see more of her personality shine through. There were plenty of moments to make me smile and I really enjoyed all the activities that Chloe finds herself taking on. As I got towards the end of the story I couldn’t wait to see if Chloe would get her happy ever after. To be honest for me the romance didn’t end up being the main theme, instead I thought this story was about seeing Chloe succeed and shine!

Suddenly Single has loveable, real characters with a fun heartwarming charm!

Chloe is an author of hot romances based off real-life gossip from her husband’s trips to their local pub. She is also battling with chronic social anxiety disorder and panics about meeting people and meeting goals in life. Her friend Faith is really supportive and always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Chloe manages to move house after her relationship with William comes to an end and wonders how she’ll survive alone.

Her new life has challenges in store, will she face them in an attempt to be stronger and happier? Accompanied by a whole host of characters and her faithful dog, she goes through life as best she can. She’s put to the test when a night drinking sees her joining The Singleton Club, where there will be all sorts of challenges, in life, and also maybe in love.
But will she be brave enough to take life head on?

Suddenly Single is my second eARC by Carol Wyer and one I enjoyed very much. I actually really identified with Chloe in that anxiety is hard, but am glad I have never had it so chronically as her. I felt Faith was a real help to her.

All the characters are well developed and realistic as is the plot. There’s a lot to be learned from Chloe’s story and hopefully it will go some way to raising awareness of anxiety issues.

Thanks to Carol Wyer and Canelo for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review as well as my place on the blog tour for this title. Bring on the next Carol Wyer book!

5 huge stars.

Suddenly Single is comedy gold at its best. A witty romantic read, that had me turning the pages faster than I thought possible to read. It's is addictive.
Chloe Piper is a best selling romance author. She writes a fairytale style book, where everyone lives happily ever after and fades into the sun holding hands. Only these books are not based on her personal life, which is far from perfect. Christmas is on the horizon and she marriage has just imploded. Knowing that she has potential to become village gossip, the last thing she needs, she escapes to Sunny Meadow Farm with her trusty dog - Ronnie.
With plenty of relaxation and rest on her agenda she is set for a quiet Christmas. But is she, as she soon finds herself surrounded by a building crew, whom are incredibly lovely and chatty. And she soon meets Alex, the team manager. This together with her new neighbour for the holiday, who is persistent to find Chloe her knight in shining armour, sets Chloe up for a holiday far from the peace and quiet she was looking for.
Chloe is a very likeable character, and one where you hope she finds the perfect ending to her romantic life. Just like the books she writes. But will she? As I read along and followed the Christmas with Chloe, I found myself laughing and smiling as the stories unravels. The characters, including Alex, builders and the neighbour add a good charm and dynamic to the story and one where I had to keep reading. Smiling as I, am all round heart warming read.
Thank you to Carol, Ellie and Canelo for our advanced copy.
