Mackensey /Mac was a top rated daytime show radio host and is portrayed as a womanizing player which wasn’t part of Mac’s career plans. The But Mac wasn’t interested in a long relationship especially since even the short relationships he had turned out disastrous. Mac’s sister Emily is his lawyer. He tries to spend time with her every week as she is a widow and she seems to do is work. Mac had seen a woman sobbing at the bus stopped he had wanted to go to her and make sure she was alright but didn’t. He did see her the next week at Starbucks and he got a table across from her. He watches her laptop for her when she goes to the bathroom. Mac introduced himself and heat went through Mac as they shook hands. Her name was Kelley and she was a student and had one year left even though she was twenty five. She said with student loans and life happened. She had joined a dance touring company out of HS and the she got hurt and was no longer with the company. Than he asked her to lunch and they met at El Placer. Kelley’s best friend of twenty years and roommate- Megan-someone she had grown up with had Megan had had sex with her ex boyfriend Erik not knowing they had just broken up. Megan immediately moved Erik in their apartment as if they had done nothing wrong. When Kelley got hurt Megan talked her into moving to Sacramento where she had been gone to college. That was four years ago. Kelley had dating erik for a year. Kelley spent as little time in the apartment as she could. Planning on finding somewhere else to live after school was out. At least Mac gave her a distraction and after initially saying no she agreed to go with Mac to Reno for the weekend where he had a gig at a Comedy Festival. Kelley knew she could use a weekend away. Some fun wouldn’t hurt either. Kelley couldn't believe after twenty years of friendship Megan could betray her so easily and over a guy. Mike-Bradley’s brother- her dead ex fiance- and told her to come live with him in Oakland and he offered her a job in his company. Kelley thought Mike was acting just like a big brother would. Than while kelley was having lunch with Mac and said she moved fast another reason she accepted mac’s weekend offer. Kelley really had lost her whole world and five years later she was still paying for it. There is a heat between Kelley and Mac. It’s almost unbearable Kelley wasn’t sure what it was but there was something - a connection she couldn’t explain. She also feels mac feels it. Mac took her breath away and that had never happened before. Kelley wanted to teach dance. Kelley wasn’t sure she wanted to be the good girl this weekend. All being a good girl had gotten her was a broken heart. Kelley and Mac sleep together and the next night they both get drunk- Mac is an alcoholic who had been sober for three years but hadn’t told Kelley. Mac isn’t sure what he’s feeling and that scares the crap out of him. During that night they had legally gotten married. The next morning when Mac gets up Kelley looks miserable and is looking down at their marriage certificate. Mac runs to the bathroom and throws up- now he remembers why he quit drinking. Than Mac calls Jeff his sponsor who offers to come get him, Mac says he will meet him at home. Mac takes Kelley to his house to meet Jeff. mac’s sister Emily is there and lights into Kelley and she leaves. Mac catches up to her but she walks away from him. Jeff gives Kelley a ride home and says he doesn’t want Kelley to get hurt because Mac is a player- a commitment-phobe. Mac remembers how smitten he was with Kelley and not being afraid of signing his name next to Kelleys. Megan confronts kelley and she said their friendship was over and she moving out. Than Mac texted her about lunch and she agreed. Than when together kelley asked mac if they could make decision about the marriage after she was done with finals. Mac tells Kelley he follows a pretty strict schedule. The structure makes things easier for him. When Max realized Kelley was living with Megan and Erik, he has her pack some things and said they will come back to get the rest and takes her to his home. He has to go to a meeting for work and kelley sees a file on her and annulment papers, she signs them and leaves. Kelley had gotten drunk with Bradley her fiance when they celebrated her twentieth birthday party. They left and got into an accident and Bradley died and Kelley got seriously hurt. . She lost her career, her fiance, her financial stability, her reputation, her childhood sweetheart with one event. Kelley and Bradley were to marry in the fall. Now she was legally married to Mac years later.
I loved this book. I loved Kelley and Mac together. My heart went out to Kelley and all the things that had happened to her and what she went through and the hurt she went through as recently as with Megan and Erik. I loved how Mac wanted to check on Kelley and make sure she was okay when he seen her crying at the bus stop even though he had no idea who she was and how he instantly had her back. I loved that Jeff was so there for Jeff. and emily his sister even if she went overboard and was overprotective of Mac. I can’t believe how Megan was acting acting as she didn’t do anything wrong and Kelley should basically get over herself. I couldn’t stand Erik. I loved the plot and the pace and didn’t want to put this down. I love dit how Mike didn’t blame Kelley for his younger brother Bradley’s death and was there for Kelley and treated her like a younger sister. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

I received an Arc copy of this book and I chose to post this review
I very much enjoyed this book , it had interesting characters and a great story.
The characters were well developed and had lives I couldn’t very much understand and believe.
It unusual for me to read Contemporary Romance , but I’m so glad I did , I’ll be looking for more from the author .
Mackensey "Mac" Thomas is a DJ for a local radio station in Sacramento and the city's hottest playboy bachelor. Most people don't know the real Mac but because of demons from his past, he let's everyone believe he is that man.
Kelley Kontos is trying to finish up her college degree at 25 yrs old. Because of demons from her past her life has taken on a new direction. When Kelley finds her boyfriend of one year cheating on her with her best friend and roommate Megan, she decides she has had enough.
When Mac stops at Starbucks he sees this beautiful woman crying on a bench and is instantly intrigued. By the time he gets his coffee she is gone. Imagine his surprise when a week later he spots this mysterious female and they strike up a conversation. The chemistry between these two is instant and Mac decides to invite her to Lake Tahoe with him for the weekend which Kelley accepts. Imagine both of their surprises when they wake up in the morning and find themselves married! This was not something either of them had every planned for!
After getting back to Sacramento Mac and Kelley have to decide what to do with the situation they have gotten themselves into. Both of them are not ready to give up the other but because of their demons they each are second guessing all their decisions. It will take a HUGE leap of faith for both Mac and Kelley in order for them to have their happy ending....and boy do they get a perfect one!
This is the first book in the Accidental Love series. It is also the first book that I have read by this author. I have to admit whilst I love chick-lit type romances, I haven’t read many romances of this type so I did have my apprehensions! The one thing that did swing it for me was the front cover – if I could imagine the lead character, Mac looking like this throughout the book then it had to be worth it!
The story is about Mac and Kelley who meet over coffee and, to coin the old cliché, it was love at first sight. Mac and Kelley are great characters and very likeable. The chemistry between them is fantastic and I was hooked into their storyline straight from the beginning. It is an easy to read book, light hearted, sex and fun in some parts and harder-hitting and more serious in others. There are some topics featured, such as alcoholism, which may not be for everyone, so a word of warning.
The storyline is hot and steamy and is so well written that I could just picture in my mind perfectly what the characters looked like, what they were doing and where!! If you’re worried that it might be too ‘naughty’ for you then don’t be…..it may make you blush though!
This was a great paced read with some sexy and hot characters. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be like, but in a good way! I was expecting it to be full of sex, sex and more sex (although that’s not such a bad idea!!!), but it was really just an unusual love story between two people who each have their own issues with some steamy moments thrown in for good measure! I shall look forward to the next book of the series to see where the author may take some of the other characters stories to.
I enjoyed my time in ACCIDENTAL GROOM, although it is a bit deeper than what you see in the cover blurb, not drag you down but Mac and Kelley both have some definite issues that will play into their new and surprising relationship.
Even though the cover description is in Mac’s “voice” I had a difficult time seeing him as a true playboy. A man dealing with a demon on his back that will be there his entire life and hesitant to bring that into a permanent relationship – now, that I could believe. Playboy? Not so much, really. Kelley was handed some hard knocks in her life, the latest just pushed her beyond her limits. The kindness of a stranger, who isn’t really a stranger since his voice is on the radio and his face plastered on the side of every bus in town, was unexpected yet exactly what she needed. A spur of the moment decision will change both of their lives, what they make out of that so-called mistake could be the most important choice for their future.
ACCIDENTAL GROOM is full of an intense, quick attraction, sizzling chemistry and two people who aren’t exactly what they seem on the surface. I enjoyed getting to know the real Mac and Kelley. And it is very hard to not root for them to find their way to each other for a lifetime. There are some nasty pieces of work characters that I never liked and don’t intend to… the roommate’s actions, just no. That is a “you no longer exist in my universe” moment for me, but then I can hold a grudge forever.
I had fun with this romance, and would not hesitate to recommend it to any reader who loves a good Romance and enjoys going just a bit deeper into personalities.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Mackensey is a ladies man. He is the love them and leave them type and to say he is a commitment-phobe is an understatement, but when Mackensey eyes a girl crying on a bench outside the local coffee shop, he can’t help but be moved by her. Kelley is a local college student who is suffering through her own heartbreak. Meeting Mackensey by chance has the potential to change both of their lives in ways neither Mackensey or Kelley ever realized. It’s not every day you wake up after a night drinking only to realize you are now married. Can Mackensey ever get over his commitment phobia to give their relationship the chance it deserves?
When I went in reading this story I thought I was going to get a sweet romance with an all too familiar trope (which I love!) and while that is true for the most part, the story is more than just a romance. The story deals with some heavy hitting topics and both Mackensey and Kelley have a lot to deal with as individuals. Dana Mason really writes with such honesty and shows how two damaged people deal with their past while trying to make a future. I really think this part of the story was done really well and often showed a side to both Mackensey and Kelley that shows them as both flawed characters, but with so much to give for the right person.
The story did move kind of fast and I was a little leary knowing that Kelley agreed to go away with Mackensey pretty much right away after they met. Personally, it is not something I would do. With my luck, I would be agreeing to go away with a serial killer and find myself chained to a bed, but I digress, this is not about me right now. I will say though, Mackensey does come across as a sweetheart and really takes an interest in Kelley and he really does treat her with respect. I love how Mackensey can see Kelley is different and not like other women he has previously dated. There is a big misunderstanding that adds a bit of drama in their relationship, but it was handled pretty well and Kelley did not border on TSTL which was a big relief for me.
Accidental Groom is a sweet romance with a heat level that is off the charts! What a great start to a new series and I can not wait to see what comes next.
First, thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an e-galley of this book.
Sizzler Alert is right on this book! What a great story! I was immediately drawn in to the story of Mac and Kelley. They met in a coffee shop. Due to circumstances in her life, she felt compelled to join Mac on a weekend business trip.
Fast forward.....I don't want to give the story away, but I was sucked in to the characters lives, and I couldn't read fast enough to see where the story was going to go!
I think you will enjoy this book if you like a good love story!

Bookouture book so just clearing this down as a review for my profile so my feedback looks better - Kim Nash
"Accidental Groom (Accidental Love Book 1)" by Dana Mason.
3.5 stars.
I liked it but not my favorite book. Not what I thought it would be from reading the summary.
I felt like it was going a little too fast. Instant chemistry. I would have enjoyed more backstory, more details. While I could easily picture Mac (thanks to the cover) I didn't really feel for Kelley. I loved the dialogues, the style.
It was a good read I enjoyed.
A good refreshing love story, well written, you keep on reading because you want to see what happens to those 2 lovebirds.
5 stars for the cover!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Accidental Groom is the first book in the Accidental Love series.
Mac is a celebrity morning radio host ,a womanizer ,and an ex-alcoholic. A chance meeting with an upset Kelly who was getting over finding her best friend in bed with her boyfriend ends with a trip to Reno for the weekend. After a night of partying they find themselves married the next morning with no idea how to go around getting out of this mess.
Accidental Groom is a contemporary adult romance book with complex characters that made it an interesting read and had me rooting for happily ever after.
I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.
I don't often read this kind of books. 'Why?'you might ask. Well, the reason is quite simple. I like a strong story where the sex scenes add something and not pages filled with bedroom activities only.
OMG! I was so pleased with this one. I loved all the strong raw emotions. The amount of sex was just perfect. I was very happy to see they acted like normal people and not a bunch of rabbits. ;)
Mac as well as Kelley have a lot of baggage, but that only makes the story stronger and more beautiful. I liked the way they were both surrounded by people they could count on and could turn to for advice, but I liked even more that they both came out stronger
.It's a book I read in one day. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the author was able to affect me so deeply
.I won't come to you as a shock that I am waiting to find out what the future will bring. Can I fast forward, please? :)
Give it a try. I am sure you will not be let down. 5 stars.
Thank you, Dana Mason, Bookouture and Netgalley.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I had different expectations for this book when I first read the blurb and that may be why I didn't love it. The way the blurb sounded and the way the book was actually written seemed more like two separate things. Mac is a radio host who meets Kelley when he is sitting at a coffee shop doing some work. He notices she is having a hard day and wants to talk to her, but ends up waiting until the next time he sees her. They end up going on a date and he instantly feels something for her and vice versa and he invites her to go to a work weekend thing. They get drunk and end up married. This book was not as light and funny as I originally thought it was going to be. Both Kelley and Mac have many obstacles in their way and both are hiding things from their past. I honestly didn't think Mac was the perfect guy, but he tried and I can respect him for that. Kelley just annoyed me and honestly she was not as developed as I would like as a main character. The side characters also needed to be flushed out more because I felt they were just used for plot points and not actually as friends of the main characters. I may try another story by this author, but I think I just had a different idea of how this book was going to work out in my head and that's why I am only giving it 3 stars. If you like contemporary novels and aren't looking for a light hearted story this one may be for you.
Good read- enjoyed it.
Story not bad and characters ok.
Thank you to both NetGalley and Bookouture for my eARC in exchange for my honest unbiased review
This was my first read by Dana Mason and it was just okay. Mac and Kelley were both very interesting characters that had intriguing backstories that I wish were better developed. They both were kind of hiding these secrets and when they came out it wasn't super well dealt with in my personal opinion. Because of this I had a harder time connecting with the characters. The story was set at quite a fast pace and some details should have been expanded that were glossed over. Overall not my favourite book but I'd definitely try another Dana Mason book in the future.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Mac is a commitment-phobe DJ well known in the local area, and a chance meeting with a crying woman sets him on a course he never expected.
Kelley has some deep trauma in her past and having relocated she has a heavy burden of work and college to balance. The last thing she expected was to find her best friend in bed with her boyfriend.
Meeting Mac she finds herself impulsively agreeing to go away with him to Reno for the weekend. neither expected after a night of partying to wake up and find themselves married but now they need to sort out how they are going to sort this mess out.
I didn't expect this book to hold my interest. I thought it would be a light bit of fluff to pass the time. Boy was I wrong. This book is a lot heavier than you would expect with both main characters having some serious issues in their past. These issues are dealt with in a believable, heartfelt way and while it seems a bit of insta-love is at play the romance felt believable and the reader finds themselves rooting for the two to be together despite all the obstacles. I would highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a compelling romance with damaged heroes helping each other to heal.

This is my first book by Dana Mason.
What I liked:
The writing style
Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I had a hard time staying interested in this book.
I was thinking this was going to be more of a light read but was pleasantly surprised by how intense and intriguing it was. Well thought out characters and storyline. It kept my attention from beginning to end. Very good read.
A charming will-they-won’t-they love story that will leave you wanting more from this author. I was absolutely hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down till I had read every word in this book. “Accidental Groom” was a sexy, entertaining and enjoyable read that I absolutely loved. A well deserved 5 stars book in my opinion and I would totally recommend
Rating: 2.5/5
Going into this book, I was expecting lightheartedness and it got intense FAST!!
-H: experienced instaLOVE h: went with the flow, getting over just being cheated on.
- Heroine's backstory was very deep. I wish we had more insight about it and her.
- There was a drunken marriage, so the title does live up to its name.
I think this book had potential, if it went deeper into developing the characters. Also, I think the h moved on way to fast after the betrayal she experienced.
This book just did not hold my attention as I hoped.
3.5 Stars
This was a perfect example of the cover not representing exactly the story. The cover looks more light-hearted and just a sexy romp...We got more of a confused Reno Marriage laced with real issues, personal and deep. I knew before it was ever revealed what Mac's demon was...and when it came out as to how Kelley had her life change it fit perfectly.
This was not a light little oops marriage and you did have the author present much more.
