My name is Kelley and this week has been crap. Today is my birthday and also the worst day of my life. Several years ago on this day, I was in a horrific car accident that killed the love of my life and left me in a hospital for weeks. Then to make matters worse, I just caught my ex-boyfriend, mind you he’s only been my ex for a day, screwing my roommate. I don’t have the funds to get another apartment so I’ll have to couch surf until I can figure something out.
If you live in Sacramento and you’re listening to the radio in the morning on your way to work or school, most likely you’re listening to me, Mac. I’ve been doing this gig for five years and I’m portrayed as the sexy bachelor that is a serial dater with no intention of ever settling down, in other words, a manwhore. Making a pit stop at my favorite coffee shop I noticed a beautiful woman crying her eyes out sitting on a bench. Not sure why she’s drawn my attention, but there it is. Sure by the time I decide to speak to her, she’s gone. However, the next time I stop by, I spot her sitting by herself and decide to talk to her. It seems we have great chemistry when one thing leads to another, and a few hours later, we’re driving to Reno where I’m attending a Comedy festival. Kelley makes me feel free and joyful, something no other woman has been able to do. Everything is going great, until the next morning. It seems after a drunken night of partying, we got married! WTH! One thing is certain, we need to get this annulled.
Get ready for a roller coaster of emotions in this book. It will keep you on your toes the whole way thru, plus it is one hot ride.

I really enjoyed this story. The real Mac came thru loud and clear and with Kelly, what a pair. The best things happen when least expected.

Accidental Marriage trope - who doesn't love those?

Morning radio show host Makensey Thomas, has a reputation of being a playboy, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. The man who has never been tempted to be attached to a woman, cannot help but be drawn to the green-eyed beauty he sees crying outside of a coffee shop.
I loved his character, he was swoon-worthy majority of the time but also sweet and vulnerable. Accidental Groom is told in Dual-POV, it was perfect to be able to see how his thoughts played out and so many sides to his character.
Sac State student Kelley Kontos, is probably the only single woman in Sacramento that doesn't lust after Mac from the Mimi and Mac morning show. Could help that she also doesn't have a clue to who he is, nor his publicly made past.
Kelley was just one of those characters you want to reach into the book a hug. She has had so much crap thrown at her and she's still standing.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, it was low-drama and flowed well for a story that took place in such a short amount of time.

I enjoyed this fun and flirty read from Dana Mason, although my first from her - it most definitely won't be the last. (There is one secondary character I really hope get her own book)

Mac is a great looking guy with a sexy voice working as a morning radio show host with a big following. Kelly, trying to finish school while working all the hours she can, has had more pain than fun in her life. Both are dealing with some serious baggage. I really enjoyed the first half of their story but suddenly it just started to drag and bog down. The secondary characters, his sister and her roommate, were not very believable. When Kelly's past is revealed, it is so convoluted that it made no sense at all. The potential for a good love story just collapsed.

This book was really cute. I really enjoyed reading this conversation and interactions and I liked the plot. The summary says they get married so that's not a spoiler but I really enjoyed the careful and thoughtful way they went about dealing with it afterwards. Overall this was a good book. I really loved Mac and his personality and the parts about his job were actually interesting too.

*SPOILERS*

I didn't like that she ended up trying to be friends with her best friend who seems like a TERRRRRIBLE person at the end of the book. Forgiveness is a hard thing to do and I kind of understand why she forgave her (not really) but to see them try and be friends at the end was a no from me. You can forgive people without letting them back into your life to screw you over again.

This book says sizzler alert. I attempted many times to find it, but sadly, I could not. To be honest, it dragged and dragged, I skimmed the last half of the book to see if it got better, sadly for me, it never did.

Mac is stunned to see a beautiful woman in floods of tears outside Starbucks. He can’t get her out of his mind so when he sees her the following week he starts talking to her. He is amazed to find out she doesn’t recognise him from his popular radio show. They hit it off and he persuades her to come away for the weekend not expecting for them to end up married. Kelley is trying to forget the past and her friend’s betrayal but things go further than she expected. I really liked this story and really connected with the characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this book and looking forward to the rest of the series.
Mac only ever has short term flings, never serious relationships. Will all that change when he wakes up with a hangover and a wedding ring? Both Mac and Kelley are keeping secrets about their past, so can they have a future together?

This was my first book by Dana Mason and I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a fun read, with serious undertones that made the story more believable and relatable. Mac sees Kelley sitting on a bench, sobbing and is immediately drawn to her, and although he does nothing further, he thinks about the girl with the green eyes all week. So much so, he goes back to the coffee shop the next week in hopes of finding her. Mac strikes up a conversation and from then on, he knows that Kelley is something special. Ms. Mason writes with such clarity that you can feel the sadness in Kelley's life and the need for Mac to protect her. The writing keeps the story flowing and the characters develop over the course of the book with such depth, that you can't help rooting for these two to make this work. Totally recommend this book.

Mac is a DJ who is well known for being a playboy type but he's tired of being the stereotype. He has issues and isn't as carefree as he seems. Then he meets Kelley, a damsel in major distress, and they wake up married in Reno. Enjoyable romance that includes serious issues.

I had just written a review on Net Galley and thought about browsing through the suggested available titles and saw this one. The blurb got to me and I requested to read it.

I haven't read anything from the author yet. I don't know what to expect from a Dana Mason novel so I was going in blind.

So this is the love story of Mackensey Thomas and Kelley Kontos. It's the insta-lust, insta-love kind. I think it's possible to have a connection with someone you've just met... and maybe, just maybe their souls recognize each other from the outset.

The plot isn't something I haven't read before and it's not my usual cup of tea because I'm too pragmatic when it comes to these things but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless... Sure there were parts that were annoying... were I thought the characters were being too dramatically unrealistic for my taste but its part of the whole charm.

This is a story about following your heart, trusting your gut and taking risks... that what's meant to be will always find it's way.

If you're a fan of Lauren Blakely, Lauren Layne or Lila Monroe, then this is the book to pick up next.

Since this is my first read by this author, I was not really sure of what to expect when it came to her writing style, or the depths she would take to make any story. Let me tell you this author has the skill set of a flippin' pro. Accidental Groom was out of this world amazing. IT IS A STORY FULL OF DEPTH, with loads of reality, that makes it seem so real. Accidental Groom is more than just the same ole cliche of waking up married, it is everything and beyond. This author did an amazing job of showcasing the character development. The story line is a lot different than I thought it was going to be, it's more, so much more. The banter between the characters was authentic. It was amusing when needed, and real when it needed to be. The flow was spectacular. It did not feel rushed one bit, everything was at the perfect pace. Every single plot in this book, is what made it what it was. It was amazing, and really set the tone, at least for me, of what this author is capable of. I can not wait to read Mason's future books.

Mac. He is just so dreamy. Don't get me wrong, he most definitely has flaws, but be is strong and courageous enough to make himself even better. He is kind, and empathetic, and it shows page after page. Being the top rated radio host in the morning, woman want to cling to him.

Kelley has had a rough go through life, but it's made her strong and resilient. She has her future mapped out, and no one or anything will stop that from happening. She is honest, even to herself, which makes her different than most lead female characters. She has a witty personality, that shines bright when she allows it to come out. I seriously admire this character.

I would prefer not to get into anything else because I am not one for spoilers, and I don't want to ruin that for anyone else. Just know that there is more to this book than the title and the blurb.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book. Accidental Groom is a fun read, up to a point. Hidden beneath the undeniable chemistry are some very heavy issues which take away from the main characters, in a way. Being in a relationship with Mac is probably difficult, he has some hurdles to consider and his fame doesn't help. Kelley is also trying to get over her traumatic past and build a future. The side betrayal of boyfriend and best friend felt like a little too much for me, and the story could have been just as effective if it focused on Mac and Kelley and their own past. Or maybe just that's just me and there's only so much drama I can handle. Other than that, it was entertaining and I liked the end outcome.

After the last book I read turned out to be less adult than I was expecting, I turned to a book that I judged by the cover and synopsis. After only knowing each other for a day, the two main characters wake up in Reno and are married. What other tropes could you ask for?
I liked this book for the most part but it was heavier than I expected. It dealt with some pretty serious topics (alcoholism for one). It takes a while for me to warm up to both Kelley and Mac because they jumped in with both feet and there wasn't enough time to establish anything between them. They got into bed pretty quickly. I will say that Dana Mason writes some good smut and there wasn't anything cringe-worthy throughout the book. Kelley deals with the cliche of walking in on her roommate and newly ex-boyfriend getting it on in the living room so neither of them are likable. I feel that Kelley's roommate is incredibly naive and selfish throughout the entire book so I'm not a huge fan of the redemption arc in the end. There are valid excuses but it's too little too late for me. There's also the miscommunication trope that gets a little played out in the story. There are some enjoyable moments throughout the story, which is enough to earn it 3 stars. It's still middle of the road with certain elements that needed to be worked on. I would likely still read Dana Mason in the future.

I very much enjoyed this book. It is the first book I have read by Dana Mason and I really liked her writing style. I felt it was very well-written and was a pretty compelling story. I love dual POV books so that made me happy as well. Some of the themes were pretty heavy which I don't always enjoy in the contemporary romances I read, but I thought this was well done. Overall I thought it was a great book. The only thing stopping me from giving the book 5 stars is that it was a little too heavy at times for me.

This is the first book I've read by Ms. Mason, and I enjoyed it. Based on the title and cover, I expected a light rom-com, but this story actually deals with some serious issues and is much deeper than a rom-com. That's not a bad thing--I'm just warning readers that the title and cover are much more lighthearted than the story itself. I liked the character of Kelley a lot. She's been through so much, yet she's very strong. There were several times that she could have become a doormat, and she didn't; I was really proud that the author didn't let it happen. Mac is a great character too, and his struggle to understand his feelings seemed realistic and well written. I think as long as readers go into this one with the correct expectations, they'll enjoy it, particularly those who like angsty(ish) contemporary romance.

When I saw the synopsis, I thought it could be perfect for me. I love romances like that and the idea sounded really appealing.
However, when I tried to get into the book, things got more complicated and I couldn't manage to connect to the story or the characters. I don't say that it was bad but I just think it was not for me. But I'm sure that other readers will have a great time with it.

I was able to read my first Dana Mason book this week thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture who provided me an advanced copy of Accidental Groom in exchange for my honest review. Thank you, thank you!!

Accidental Groom is the first book in the Accidental Love series. This book tells the story of two strangers - Kelley and Mac. Their connection to one another is instant and their chemistry is pretty off the charts. Both leads have somewhat intense backstories, yet they are drawn to each other. Their relationship begins with a fun "no strings attached" weekend together. But, 24 hours after arriving - they're (accidentally) married. Enter the will-they-or-won't-they.

Ok there was a lot that I loved here. First, the novel was well written and the dialogue was fun and felt very fresh. There were bits of dialogue that I actually found myself laughing out loud. My favorite thing about Accidental Groom though was Mac's backstory. It felt so refreshing to have a male love interest with a complicated backstory, especially one that I can honestly say that I haven't seen in new adult romance. I loved the way that this particular issue was explored throughout the book and how it attributed to both characters' growth. The backstory wasn't a quick fix and it was something Mac took responsibility of his past and the decisions that he made. (I don't want to spoil it - it was great going in and not knowing!)

I am very curious to see who the second book in the series is going to be about. I'm hoping it's Mac's sister. (*fingers crossed*) I will definitely be continuing this series and keeping Dana Mason on my radar. Overall, this one gets a 5/5 from me.

Accidental Groom is a new adult contemporary, and it releases on April 2nd, 2019. It is available for pre-order now.

spoilers ahead: Ok so first I wanna say that I totally bought in to the (somewhat) insta-love. Sometimes this can bother me in a story, but here I was all in. I think one of the reasons why is that the author wrote it so well. I loved the scene where Mac leaves to go get food, but basically he's just having a panic attack. He loves Kelley, but it takes him awhile to understand these feelings are love. I love that he shows that he's overwhelmed - he's not freaking out because he doesn't want/love her, he's just dealing with an overwhelming change in life.

I also love how the author handled Mac's alcoholism. The scene where he picked up the drink - ugh I felt like my heart was pounding. I loved how she wrote the scene where he tells Kelley that it's his responsibility and no one is responsible for his lapse. He just really owns his shit, and it was so refreshing. The scene where he calls his sponsor - the way the author writes his tone of voice, his actions - it all felt so real. I have unfortunately seen addiction first hand, and I could really relate to this scene.

Overall - this was a complex new adult contemporary. It's steamy, it's romantic, but it's also filled with complicated characters. It mimics life in the best way. Please give this one a try - go and pre-order it! Let me know if you've read any other Dana Mason books.

It’s my first time reading a book by Dana Mason, but it won’t be the last! Accidental Groom kicks off the Accidental Love series, featuring two strangers with troubled pasts who meet by chance and feel instant chemistry and connection with each other. Kelley, a student, and Mac, a DJ, meet and somehow end up getting married after knowing each other for a matter of hours. They are both shocked by the turn of events, but neither is ready to end the marriage with an annulment before taking a chance to see where things go between them.

It was a fun and fast-paced read. Though there were definitely hurdles thrown in their path, the book is low on angst overall. I really enjoyed getting to know these two characters and the secrets that were revealed slowly throughout the book. The author left me anxious to see who the next book will be about; there are definitely a few supporting characters that I would love to see get their own book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
