The author's comments and the Prologue pulled at my emotions from the beginning and I knew that Ramsey and Grace deserved to find a happiness that knew no bounds. This is a wonderful story of two special souls who needed each other, although it may have taken awhile to slowly come together.
Grace Morgan was going to London and all she could think was "Good Lord this is going to be a disaster!" She was very intelligent but always seemed to be clumsy and a little awkward. She had to say positive that with the help of her guardian, Heathcliff, Viscount Kilpatrick and his wife Samantha, who had been her governess, she was determined to do her best.
Having been raised by an unforgiving father, Ramsey , Marquess of Sterling, hated Scandal with a passion. He conducted himself so that he avoided it at all cost. He and his friend's owned Temtations a gaming club and they depended on each other. Kilpatrick is one of those friends who had just gotten married. He is asked to help Grace at the social events.
Surprising he and Grace seem to be drawn to each other. Unfortunately Grace is being pursued by a man who is Ramsey's enemy and he is determined to put a stop to it.
Kristin Vayden has written a wonderful story of acceptance with delightful exchanges between the hero and heroine with some suspense, Ramsey coming to grips with his past. Do not miss this book or any in this series! I have loved them all!

Book Title: The Temptation of Grace
Author: Kristin Vayden
Pub Date: April 30 2019

***ARC was provided to me by Net Galley and the Publisher for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 4/5

Heroine (Grace Morgan): 4/5 Grace is not graceful which is why she hopes the name she chose for herself will make up for her clumsiness. She has fiery red hair that matches her spirit and sharp green eyes that match her sharp wit.

Hero (Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling): 4/5 Ramsey has heard that he was a failure all his life so he strives to keep his name far away from scandal. He has trouble letting go of his verbally abusive father’s words and luckily he has friends that remind him of how good of a person her actually is. He is rather tall, brown hair, dark eyes and a normally stern disposition.

Plot: 4/5 Grace is the ward of Lord Kilpatrick. Heathcliff’s friend Ramsey, Lord Sterling finds that he wants to help Grace succeed and attends parties with the family in order to watch over her. When Grace’s choice is that last one Ramsey could ever tolerate, he steps in. But what starts as chivalrous ends in a more scandalous kiss. Grace turns her attention to Ramsey, while Ramsey thinks she could do better. But will he remain the distant, chivalrous guardian?

Personal Review: So the plot summary given by the publisher is not really reflective of what happens in the story. All the elements happen, just not how the summary would have you believe they do.

But the actual book is a fun read. Grace nervous habit of over sharing is endearing. Ramsey worked through much of his emotional baggage before starting anything with Grace which was nice. One should not expect a partner to be the cure for emotional baggage.

I received and ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. The Temptation of Grace is the third book in Kristin Vayden’s Gentlemen of Temptation series. While it could be read as a stand-alone I do think you should read the previous books in the series to fully enjoy this one. I’m going to describe this book as beware of helping out your friend and business partner with his ward if you truly intend to remain unmarried. Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling discovers that (Iris) Grace Morgan ward to his business partner and good friend Lord Kirkpatrick is one of the most interesting and delightful women he has ever met but will he be able to overcome his past clouded by a disastrous first marriage and an extraordinarily nasty father who made him feel that he was never good enough and as well there seems to be a fair bit of competition for her hand including from an old enemy of his. I found Grace to be quite endearing and do recommend reading this book. Mild to medium steam. The Temptation of Grace by Kristin Vayden is book Three in the Gentlemen of Temptation Series. This is the story of Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling and Iris 'Grace' Morgan. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book.
Grace had travel around where other young women her age have not, so she has a different take on life. Grace also is someone that is awkward and clumsy which she goes forward to be more graceful as her name. But she does have a misstep with society which brings Ramsey to step forward to help her, which leads to a unconventional friendship, but Grace wishes for more. Ramsey too is having feelings for Grace but he has always felt that he wasn't good enough because of his father's expectations. But of course feelings can't be overlooked for long.

This is my first Kristin Vayden book and I've been meaning to read her for awhile now. I really liked this book. Lord Sterling was Def. A character I wanted to read about. I just loved how Grace and lord Sterling's relationship progressed. This was a such refreshing historical read that I haven't read anything like this in awhile.

I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The Temptation of Grace by Kristin Vayden
The Gentlemen of Temptation #3

In this book the third owner of Temptation – Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Stirling – meets the woman he will marry. He is NOT looking for a wife and in fact believes he never will marry again. He is however a good friend and when asked by Heathcliff for assistance in the debut of his ward, Iris Grace Morgan well, Ramsey is definitely going to be there for his friend and business partner.

Iris Grace Morgan is world traveled and as such has not been trained in the ways of being a lady. When suddenly orphaned she was given into the care of Heathcliff, the Viscount Kilpatrick. Samantha, now Heathcliff’s wife, was governess to Grace and has helped her as much as possible in the short period of time before Grace’s debut is to be made. Grace is worried that her lack of grace and knowledge of how to behave in society will embarrass her guardian and his wife and will also prevent her from making a good marriage – a love match – one like that of her parents and her guardian.

So...we have stoic, upright, uptight, society savvy, scandal avoiding Ramsey meeting Grace and there for her while trying to retain his bachelor status. He has to deal with ghosts of his childhood before he is ready to take on happiness and perhaps a bride but he is there for Grace throughout the book. There is an interesting twist to his past that crops up in that someone from his past, with a rather iffy reputation, shows up and causes a bit of grief BUT all comes right in the end and there is a HEA for Grace and Ramsey. AND as the epilogue is four years in the future I am guessing this is the end of the series. I wouldn’t mind reading a book about John (the butler who for Heathcliff and also at Temptation) and the housekeeper Mrs. Marilla – there is definitely a story about them either together or independently!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Miss Iris Grace Morgan hated her name . she would be in London in a week and she made a decision. She would not be Iris in London, the woman who couldn’t waltz, nor the woman who was a failure at anything ladylike. She’d be Grace. Her governess was now his guardian’s -Lord Kilpatrick- wife- Samantha. Samantha had pulled the lady within her charge and gave her some much needed polish, along with a much needed friendship. She felt she’d make a splash in London but she wasn’t sure it would be good. It would probably be of the clumsy kind. Her utter achilles heel was the dance. Grace would be utterly content But she was to have a season and ease herself into society. Samantha had the patience of Job and the appearance of an angel. She always encouraged Grace. It was impossible to be cross with her or be offended by by her insistence that Grace abide by any rules they had set about. Grace promised Samantha she would do her best to observe all the properties required of a lady of quality. Samantha said thank you and she would be in the wings coaching her through it., she was not alone. Grace needed to adapt to her new environment. Samantha told her they would be engaging in several social gatherings upon their arrival. Ramsey was the Marquis of Starling. He knew people betrayed you, people had their price. He was at Temptation and went into his office. Grace’s guardian is partnered with Grace’s guardian. He looked at several ledgers waiting for his approval on his desk. numbers : that was a friendly thing. They were constant, amd easily understood . Grace’s first event was a near disaster but even though Ramsey Scott avoids gossip and scandal like the plague. He offers to help Grace. Grace gets interested in the wrong kind of man- a rake and he is interested in her. He also has a beef with the owners of temptations especially Ramsey. Kilpatrick goes to Ramsey to after Grace As they spend time together Ramsey finds himself being drawn to Grace. Ramsey and Grace are very comfortable with each other and that is very unusual for both of them. Than Grace shows up at his office at Temptations and their attraction to each other could no longer be denied. Ramsey could never live up to his father’s expectations and that gave him insecurities. Than Ramsey had been married before and it ended in a messy divorce which his father found unacceptable. So Both ramsey and grace had their issues.
I enjoyed this book. It was a romantic read of two people who had their own baggage but find each other. I advise you to read this series in order for a smoother and more knowledgeable read. I like that Grace had a mind of their own. I felt this was a well written historical novel. This did drag for me at times. I liked the plot of this book. Grace seemed to be a little immature to me especially in trusting some she doesn’t know. This book had a rake, falling in love, lust, insecurities, fear, blame, struggle, attraction, unattainable expectations, and much more. I liked the characters of this book and the twists and turns and I recommend this book.

This is the third in a fun series. Ramsey is the most stoic of his three friends. Grace is free and fun. On their first meeting he is delighted by her but decides that he doesn’t deserve her goodness. As they spend more time together he is unable to resist her charm and wit. The story is filled with great humor and fun. It is truly delightful and the characters will charm you at every turn.

A lovely romantic book well written which grabs your from the first page..
I could not put it down and read it all in one day.
The two main characters Ramsay and Grace are destined for each other from the very first encounter but the course of true love never runs smooth and this romance is no exception.

I enjoyed this well-written historical romance. Miss Grace Morgan comes to London for her debut season, but feels awkward and out of place. Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling, avoids scandal, but he finds himself stepping in to help Grace acclimate, This was an entertaining story and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Ramsey Scott, Marquis of Sterling, could never live up to his father’s exacting standards & for years has thought of himself as a failure, so he’s the last man who should stand guard over the lovely Miss Grace Morgan ward of his close friend & joint club owner. Grace sees herself as clumsy, forever tripping over things & she most be the world’s most awful dancer, even Grace isn't her first name but Iris Grace Morgan desires to be called Grace, when she makes her debut.
A well written engaging read I loved the verbal sparring between Ramsey & Grace. This is the third book in this delightful series & whilst it could be read on its own all three books are well worth the read. The characters are well formed, the pace is very good & I enjoyed it from cover to cover. There are some twists & turns along the way but this is very a much the story of two people falling in love & finding happiness. The one true revelation is Ramsey returning to his childhood home & finding himself with help from his housekeeper.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Sometimes it’s just nice to read a romance in which the main characters like and respect each other, even though they can hardly fathom each other.  The Temptation of Grace is definitely like that – a story of people who genuinely like and support one another even in the worst of times.  And the romance is darned cute, too. Before arriving in London for the first time, Miss Iris Grace Morgan - clumsy and no social butterfly - decides she will be known as Grace for her Season, a moniker that hopefully will rub off on her behavior.  Her parents educated her well, took her around the world and gave her all of their love, but did not teach her any of the social graces that a debutante needs.  Her guardian Heathcliff, (yes, really) Viscount Kilpatrick (and hero of the second book in the series), says that she shouldn’t worry – she’ll make a great splash, clumsiness or no – but Iris still wishes to make a break with the past and do well by her beloved guardian and his new bride, Samantha.Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling, hates scandal.  HATES it allcaps.  He experienced it himself – divorced in a messy way, he disgraced his title and left his father in permanent disgust of him, and he hasn’t returned to the family estate since.  This is why he’s dedicated himself to running a gentlemen’s gaming establishment named Temptation, though it’s not the kind of occupation that his impossible-to-please father would have approved of.  The man sent him off to Eton at an early age when Ramsey failed to meet his required level of perfection, which is where he met Heathcliff and Lucas, his closest friends and fellow officers during the Napoleonic War. Highly self-controlled and formal thanks to the manners his father’s disapproval and violence have pounded into him, Ramsey is determined not to love again. When Grace sees Ramsey for the first time in Heathcliff’s parlor, she’s instantly smitten – which turns her into a motormouth, something that stuns the stiff and reserved Ramsey into silence. But the ice is broken, and soon the pair find themselves mutually charmed. As Grace stumbles semi-disastrously through her season, Ramsey watches out for her, and she continues to crush on him.  They kiss once, and he is horrified and beguiled, worried that he’s betraying Heathcliff’s trust yet needing more of her. When Lord Westhouse, a man with whom Ramsey has extremely strained relations, sets his sights on Grace, Ramsey is horrified when Heathcliff asks him to act as a bodyguard to keep Grace away from him.  But close proximity makes strange bedfellows.  The temptation between them soon becomes far, far too difficult to ignore. The Temptation of Grace is a charming little crowd pleaser.  It absolutely captures my favorite hero/heroine dynamic: whirligig woman who doesn’t give a rip and staid, formal man who spends his time blinking at her in utter confusion. That doesn’t mean that Grace is indelicate with the feelings even of those she doesn’t like; she wants to keep her poise but nah, she’s not gonna stop her tongue from wagging for anyone. It’s Ramsey who has the book’s healing arc, and watching how Grace prods him out of his shell and how he comes to realize he’s worth loving, is heartbreakingly sweet. Also terribly sweet is the book’s main message about healing and finding love again.  People LIKE one another in this novel – Grace loves the servants and her quasi-family; Ramsey likes her, and his brothers in arms.  He doesn’t want to squash her spirit and she doesn’t push him beyond what he can stand and they challenge one another, but not cruelly.  She doesn’t scold him for his club, and he doesn’t scold her for having no filter – well, not too much.  All of his stiffness melts away, and she never develops the grace she thinks she needs to display – and they love one another for it.Heathcliff and Lucas do show up again and provide a brotherly call to arms to protect Grace, and I also enjoyed Grace’s charming, honest friendship with Samantha a great deal. The Temptation of Grace was a sweet, sexy little delight.  I truly enjoyed every bit of it.Buy it at: Amazon/Apple Books/Barnes & Noble/KoboVisit our Amazon Storefront

This series is so good and I was waiting on Ramsey’s story. Going in I thought this would be a staid peer with a wild side underneath which I love but as I started reading the story I thought “damn, this guy is as dull as dirt, where is the wild side I was craving?”. You know what I am talking about, we all love that guy. Wait for it…bam, there it is the funny, sexy guy we are looking for. I think this story is clever, smart, funny and subtle. I normally do not care if a book has a prologue or epilogue, that is basically just bonus, but the epilogue leaves you hanging…just saying.

4.5 Stars!

The Temptation of Grace features an excellent romance and was an amazing conclusion to the Gentlemen of Temptation series.

Miss Iris Grace Morgan is hoping to live up to her name and show a bit of grace during her first season. But after a near disaster at her first event, Grace isn’t sure that’s going to happen. Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling, avoids gossip and scandal like the plague but after witnessing Grace’s debacle, he cannot help but offer his assistance. However the more time Ramsay spends with Grace, the more he finds himself drawn to her. And after Grace unexpectedly shows up at Ramsay’s office in his club, the pair are unable to ignore their attraction any longer.

Grace grew up travelling the world with her parents prior to their deaths resulting in Grace developing a different education than is typical for society ladies. She has a number of fascinating stories about the places she’s lived and I really enjoyed how she catalogued each new experience to compare to previous ones. Grace is bold, clumsy, and entirely unsure of herself when expected to behave as a proper lady.

Ramsay was told his entire life by his father that perfection is the only acceptable option and everything else is failure. Ramsay has never been able to live up to his father’s expectations and it caused him to develop a bit of a complex as a result. Compounding those issues is the fact that Ramsay was married before and it ended in a disastrous divorce which in his father’s eyes was completely unacceptable.

Grace and Ramsay hit it off instantly and find themselves immediately at ease with one another which is unusual for them. While Grace finds Ramsay a bit restrained and Ramsay finds Grace a bit wild, the pair still feel a connection. Their banter is fantastic and I enjoyed the way they’re able to make the other laugh. With Ramsay’s issues regarding scandal, the relationship does initially progress slowly. Thankfully Ramsay works through those issues pretty quickly and their relationship picks up speed from there. There are several fantastic kissing scenes with their physical relationship not progressing much further until nearly the end of the book.

Throughout the book there are a number of scenes with Samantha and Heathcliff, the couple from the second book in the series. I really enjoy Grace’s friendship with Samantha and how supportive Samantha was of Grace. Plus I really like Samantha and Heathcliff as a couple so it was fantastic seeing them again. The couple from the first book, Liliah and Lucas, appear towards the end of the book and I enjoyed seeing them again as well.

Overall The Temptation of Grace was my favorite book in the series and I highly recommend these books for anyone looking for a great historical romance.

Iris Grace Morgan has suffered through the death of both parents and was bound to the guardianship of Lord Kilpatrick. The Lord and his wife are determined to find her a love match and marriage for Grace during the current London season. Ramsey Scott, Marquess of Sterling is one of Lord Kilpatrick’s best friends and is willing to help Grace and Lord Kilpatrick in any way that he can, even if that meant losing his own heart! A solid four stars for this fun, sweet novel with solid characters and an engaging story!

Publication date is April 30, 2019.

I loved Ramsey and Grace's story. Ramsey is just naturally drawn to Grace and these two make a great couple. Sometimes it is almost like he can read her thoughts and the reader will truly enjoy how this book develops. As Grace grows more comfortable in Society, the less comfortable Ramsey becomes. The reader will love this book from start to finish.

This one was not the best in the series but it was still enjoyable. The two leads were likable. I did found the pace a bit slow to start with but it got interesting towards the end.

Miss Iris Grace Morgan has come to London, to have her first ate of society. She is determined to be successful and reward her guardians (Viscount Kilpatrick and his wife, Samantha – from book 2) for taking her into their household. However, her innocence is sure to lead her into dangerous territory, which Ramsey Scott, the Marquess of Sterling, soon realises on meeting Grace. Ramsey, the third owner of the gentleman’s club, Temptation, has tried to avoid scandal since his divorce, and has worked ever since, to remove any hint of impropriety. has worked all of his life to avoid scandal, but it's finally caught up to him.

Grace is an endearing character despite her tendency to be quite clumsy. As a result, she struggles to believe that she will be a true lady. Similarly, Ramsey is determined not to marry again, but finds himself captivated by Grace and determined to look after her.

I received an advanced review copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. I think it would have added much if I had read the first two books, just to get a sense of the friendship between Ramsey, Heathcliff and Lucas and how they had met their wives. Overall though, you don't need to read the first books to enjoy this one.

I did enjoy Ramsey and Grace's story. Their lively banter and frustrations help draw out the romance. Ramsey was his own worst enemy, but it takes a spirited young woman to break down his walls. There was a good twist and I was anxiously turning the pages to find out how it would all end. Fans of historical romances will definitely enjoy this story.
