Miss Iris Grace Morgan is doing her best to at least hold up to the "grace" part of her name, but what a struggle it is. Her guardian and his wife are about to launch Grace into society and she must be prepared for anything. Starting over should be easy, right?
Ramsey Scott, the Marquess of Sterling, has worked all of his life to avoid scandal, but it's finally caught up to him. Having already been married and then divorced has made him feel as if he's a failure. Still, when Ramsey's friend asks him to help with Grace, Ramsey cannot deny him. Unfortunately, Grace is being pursued by the enemy. Can Ramsey put a stop to it before it's too late?
THE TEMPTATION OF GRACE is the third installment in author Kristin Vayden's GENTLEMEN OF TEMPTATION series. I definitely recommend reading books one and two, FALLING FROM HIS GRACE and ESCAPING HIS GRACE, for the full effect. Back to TEMPATION OF HIS GRACE... I found it to be a little slow paced. It's obvious from Grace and Ramsey's first meeting, they feel an attraction to one another. However, it's a little more drawn out than I would like. I feel their love story sort of got put on the back burner while the rest of the story played out. All in all, the TEMPTATION OF HIS GRACE got it's happy ending and that was worth the read.
Miss Iris Grace Morgan is determined to leave her clumsiness behind in the country and be a graceful lady as her guardian Viscount Kilpatrick and his wife Samantha present her to London society. She decides to go to London as Grace, rather than Iris, which she had gone by previously, and hope for a fresh start at being a lady.
Despite the fact that he utterly abhors scandal and is considered proper and uptight by his friends, Ramsey Scott, the Marquess of Sterling has scandal attached to his name. He's spent his life trying to live up to his father's ridiculous expectations of perfection and never believing himself to be worthy or good enough, especially after his disastrous marriage and subsequent divorce brought shame to the title.
Ramsey feels obliged to look after Grace because of his loyalty to her guardian. When she attracts the interest of an untrustworthy man, an interest she returns, Kilpatrick turns to Ramsey to help protect her. When Grace's curiosity leads to her touring Ramsey's gaming club, he winds up facing his conflicting emotions about her. When they both realize their true feelings, Ramsey's need for propriety combined with her insatiable curiosity and impatience may foil their chance at a future together.
It took me awhile to get into this one, the pacing was maybe just a bit slow. I found Grace to be rather immature and that made it hard to believe she'd end up with Ramsey or make a good match for him, especially when she took so little notice of him at first. In the previous book she was very educated and serious, not so given to fancies, but in this one she's infatuated to the point of silliness that seemed rather out of character, though maybe this is just what first love does to you. Still I wouldn't have expected such naivete from her, especially in her willingness to completely trust someone she doesn't know. It just made me annoyed with her.
I did really like the message behind this book; that you are enough and worthy of being loved. Ramsey's struggle with his own guilt over being happy was painfully relatable and made me like him more.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It has been a long time since I have read anything by this author, so unfortunately this is the first book in this series that I have read. And while that didn't take away from my enjoyment of this story, I do feel that certain parts would have made more sense had I read the prior novels.
Speaking just to this story and these characters, it was ok. The dialogue was good, but there was nothing that really set it apart from any of the other stories in this genre that I have read. You have a titled man who is somewhat of a stickler for propriety, and a debutante that defies expectation. Add in a well known rake who is known only for his debauchery of woman, a surprising secret and what feels like a somewhat rushed into "I love you", and what do you have? The perfect recipe for a novel of this type
Perhaps its all me, and I'm just getting burned out with these types of stories. I just wish there had been something that stuck out to me more. Overall, I know this story is going to appeal to fans of historical romance because it is an engaging story with characters who are interesting and who seem to mesh well together. I would read more from this author.
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.
I love historical romances because the happily ever after is almost always guaranteed. This was no different. Grace. who is the opposite of her namesake, and Ramsey make a perfect couple. Opposites do attract and I love how Grace took Ramsey by almost complete surprise.
While this book was great as a standalone, it is part of a series and I would recommend reading the series to get better insight to the characters in the book!
I really enjoyed Ramsey and Grace's story!
We've met both of the main characters in the previous stories and I was so excited to see Grace get her HEA! I loved watching these two banter with one another.
I'm sorry to see this series end as I throughly enjoyed it! But I am excited to see what Vayden has in store for us next!
3 1/2 stars. This was my least favorite of the series but I still like it. My only issue was there was really nothing romantic going on with this couple even at 50% through. In fact, she liked someone else for a time. Then all of a sudden, they were in love. I love both of these characters from precious books but I wish there had been more of something. I love the author and will continue to read all her books!
I don’t read a lot of historical romance, but this book was great. The writing was beautiful, and it kept me entertained the whole time! This was my first read from this author, and it definitely won’t be my last!

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The temptation of grace is the third and final book in this series. I read the first but have missed the second. However, it is possible to read this as a stand-alone. The story and relationship between grace and Ramsey was sweet. The book blurb isn't quite what the book is. Ramsey is the third owner of the temptations club and the most proper. Grace is the ward of the discount from book 2. Grace is realistic as a character. I feel like Ramsey turn around and inner struggle were solved way to fast. The main conflict as barely even counts as a bump in the road.
New author for me, I received a copy of this story through Netgalley. I haven’t read the other parts to this series since this is the first time reading from this author, but I wished I did prior to reading this so I would know the background at least with Samatha, Heathcliff and Grace. I didn’t have any problems with this but sometimes I need something to understand the other characters. This had lots of action with many moments I was laughing out load, it has the spice but I never seen so much written for just a kissing scene. Overall I liked it so I’ll be on the lookout for other stories by Ms Vayden.
One thing to note about this book is that the description itself is a bit of a spoiler. Many of the things described in it don't happen until almost halfway through the book. That said, I did enjoy the book. The first quarter felt a bit slow, but from there it really picked up. One thing I would have liked was to see more of the characters from the previous books. It was sweet to see these two characters fall in love. I definitely liked the relationship and shipped the characters.
Grace is trying hard to learn to be a lady although she’s not to good at it. Ramsey has an Inferior complex that his miserable father bestowed on him. But together they learn they are perfect for each other. Wonderful read.
At first I thought Grace was going to be one of those empty-headed young ladies who sees every male as the most handsome of all. I am glad to see that that was not the case. Although there were a few of them. I did enjoy, The Temptation of Grace.
This is my 2nd book by this author.
After reading the one before I definitely had to read the next, and here I am!
I loved it again! Good story line, flawless reading. Great for long afternoons because the book captivates you and wants you to read more.
Of course there is a lot of romance, good conversations and good endings.
All characters grew on me in this book.
Highly recommended read from this author!
I haven't read the other books in the series and while it may have made for more well rounded read, this works as a stand alone novel.
If you want a historical romance with a broody man and free thinking woman this is your jam. Pretty run of the mill for this type of genre and a decent read if you are into it.
I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review
This one didn't pull me in, not enough tension, not enough suspense, but the characters were refreshingly likable
We have the third and am assuming the last since Ramsey was part of the trio of Temptations. Ramsey is known amongst his friends as the proper one the one least likely to cause a scandal since he is deathly afraid of causing one since he did and it was a big one although truly not his fault. Iris "Grace) as she wants to be known now is coming to London for her first debut and she is terrified since she is so not good with all the ins and out required of Ladies of the Ton, she is brash and outspoken and clumsy and I liked her for it. Grace is trying to be the good Ward and find a suitable bachelor but unfortunately catches the eye of an unsuitable one who also happens to have some type of beef with the trio of Temptations but mainly Ramsey..How will Ramsey stop it in time? Well grab a copy and Enjoy! Sad to say by to these guys and awesome women. Lila is still my favorite
This is the first ever book I have read from Kristin Vayden (thanks to NetGalley). My first impression of the story is that it is what a right and proper (with a hint of sensuality) historical romance should be (and I mean it in an interesting way).
What I liked about the story is that it showcased the development of the main characters. It does not have the instant lust and love and electric animal attraction everytime the hero and heroine are together. But they do have meaningful encounters. My plot preference (most of the time) is something fast paced and somehow with The Temptation of Grace even if it started out slow (with some pages dedicated to internal thoughts and introspection) for me the plot was interesting enough for me to finish the book. It does not have the hold your breath action and adventure. It does not have highly charged meeting of minds and bodies of the hero and heroine. It does have a love story that is sweet. As for sensuality, hmmm, it is pretty tame. The language is not explicit, the hero and heroine does make love after they got married. There is also an epilogue that sealed the story with a stamp of happy ever after.
