What a dreamy backdrop and premise for a whirlwind romance at sea. One Summer in Santorini would be a quick vacation read for someone looking for an escape, but if you’re looking for more, I’m not sure that this one would fit the bill. That said, looking to escape to Greece without paying a ton of money? Pick up this book instead!

I will not be giving feedback on this book as I couldn’t really get into it but I think others may enjoy it.

Unfortunately this book was not for me. I had initially marked it as 'will not be giving feedback on this title' instead of writing a review, but since not writing a review affects my overall feedback ratio - which does not seem fair since I read the book and simply didn't enjoy it and don't see the point of writing a review - I am changing it to a 'review' for the sake of not having unfinished books sitting on my shelves and dragging my ratio down. Since I'm simply doing this for Netgalley, I won't be rating or reviewing this book on Goodreads or elsewhere.

The best I can say is meh. I enjoyed the descriptions of Greece and the sailing but just generally did not care for Sarah by the end. I read the book eexpecting a light frothy beach read and was disappointed to have no really happily ever after or resolution. It's rare that I don't enjoy a book - but a non-ending ending is the quickest way for that to happen.

This book had me at 'Santorini'. I've always wanted to visit the Greek islands so of course, I had to read this one. It was a fun, easy read, kind of predictable but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

One summer in Santorini is the perfect beach read or a perfect read for a winter . It has beaches , trip , interesting cast , and of course , the amazing romance.

The love triangle wasn't my favorite , but I loved it.

Greece is everything. The tourism , the structure was so well written , I felt like I was there traveling.

I thank Netgalley and Chapter books for granting me this e-ARC . All opinions are my own.

Sandy Barker takes us on a fun tour of the Greek Isles. Loved the descriptions of the islands, the people and the food.

I enjoyed this lovely summery read. It made me wish j was young and single and ready to set off on an adventure ! This story is set aboard a small yacht where a group of disparate strangers spend ten days sailing around the gorgeous Greek islands. Escaping from a failed romance and sworn off men, nevertheless our heroine finds herself falling for a charming, apparently hapless young American as well as finding herself reciprocating the spark of interest from a handsome, rich silver Fox who , after two brief encounters , asks to meet her when she arrives in London. We are left hanging at the end, whether she will choose both or neither and chalk them up to a lovely summer fling. The lovingly described Greek islands, food and people made me want to pack my bags ! A very promising first read from this author and j look forward to future titles

This book had a good start and it makes you want to carry on reading to see what happens next. It's a fun and quite a vivid exploration of Greece and it's residents, the food sounds really exciting and I wish I could try some of it. Sarah is very likeable, she's brave and funny and really adventurous.

I loved the guided tour of Greece, the description made you feel a part of the holiday and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I thought Josh was great, and I like how the relationships in this book can show you that relationships can be complicated and confusing.

The ending was really disappointing though, and that's why it's only got three stars. There was no resolution to the plot, there's no real ending and this book isn't even part of a series so I can't find out what happens by reading the next book either!

100% without a doubt perfect summer holiday reading. Fabulous escapist fun in the sun with a dollop of evocative travel writing to boot.

I was there alongside the characters on this Greek Island yacht trip from Santorini to Mykonos, stopping at many smaller islands en-route.

You could feel you were in Greece, eating Greek food, seeing the pretty architecture, odd Greek words thrown in for good measure too.

It was like a love letter to the islands, and on top of the fabulous travel descriptions was the story of a holiday for a group of at the start of the trip strangers.

Told from Sarah's perspective, we get to see how the dynamics of everyone on the trip change, as well as her own thoughts as to whether she may be ready for a new man!

I loved the mix of personalities and just about everything about this book.

I love a foreign setting and one so expertly described was a joy to read.

A fabulous debut novel, and I just hope the author continues to write about fabulous locations as back drops to stories!

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I was looking for an easy holiday read and I love Santorini so thought I'd give this one a go!

It's enjoyable for a holiday read but I was left a bit flat by the ending and also, the main character is in Santorini for a day, the rest of the story is on a tour boat around the Greek islands. This is perfectly enjoyable but if you're looking to reminisce about Santorini, this isn't ideal!

Elements of this book resonated lot with me. I too have been a single traveller on a group tour for 10 days with strangers who became like family. I loved that side of this book, it captured the emotional side of that kind of holiday really well.

I got the feeling the author had visited everywhere mentioned and had maybe had similar experiences. That was found to be true when I read the acknowledgements at the end which was lovely, she met her husband in a similar way to the story.

Overall, good holiday read but not a favourite.

Thanks @netgalley for the chance to review.

Amazing book!!!! I absolutely loved it and enjoyed my time with book a lot! It's so well written that I almost felt myself on vacation around the greek islands on the sailing boat with the sun kissing my skin! Such a relaxing book, really! And the story in itself is really enjoyable, fun but also full of events and the romance part of it is also very nice! I can only recommend this book if you are looking for a good quality summer feeling chicklit kind of book! It looks like there is a sequel to this book and I can't wait to read it!!!! I want to know what happens to the protagonists next!!!!

What I enjoyed most about this story is its uniqueness. I expected a holiday romance, but whilst there is romance, this more about self-discovery, living life to the full, friendships and exploring the Greek Islands. The setting is well described focusing on the people, animals, scenery and food, which is described in a mouthwatering way.

Sarah is a character that grows on you, initially, I found her a little brash, but she has a sharp sense of humour and an innate honesty, which is endearing. The other element I like is that, even though she meets two possible lovers, the final chapters pose more questions than answers, which are both believable and intriguing.

The story engages on many levels; emotionally, humorously and visually. The characters are relatable. This isn't a story that requires in-depth characterisation, Sarah only spends ten days with her sailing family, and even less with the 'silver fox', so she doesn't know everything about them.

Her emotional journey is deep and eventful, and you finish the story believing she understands herself better, and her future will be more rewarding, which is a more than satisfying ending.

I received a copy of this book from Avon Books UK - Maze - One More Chapter via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

One Summer in Santorini is a quick and light summer read. What annoyed me a bit was the love triangle-situation and the lack of resolution in relation of the guy situation. Also, not much was happening in the book, neither plot-wise or character development-wise.

Sarah has had enough of men. It’s time to rekindle her first true love – travel – so she books a sailing trip around the Greek islands with a group of strangers.

The very last thing Sarah wants is to meet someone new… But then a gorgeous American man boards her yacht and she knows she’s in trouble. And when she also encounters a handsome silver fox who promises her the world, she realises that trouble really does come in twos.

Will Sarah dive into a holiday fling, embark on a relationship, or stick to her plan – steer clear of men, continue her love affair with feta, and find her own way after all?

This was a quick, fun summer read! I got everything I expected and needed from this book.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit though not for the reason I thought I would I knew it was a romance about a girl named Sarah who goes on a sailing trip of greece and meets multiple men along the way but I didn't realize the part if this story I would love the most would be the amazing descriptions and details of travel through greece! This made me want to pack my bags and hope on a cruise! The locations mixed with the laugh out loud funny character of Sarah and her at times adorable at times hilarious run ins with men kept me flying through this story it wasn't the best romance I've ever read but it was funny and light and entertaining perfect for a light book between heavy reads!

One Summer in Santorini made me want to visit Santorini even more ( I've never been) and the other islands mentioned, some of which I hadn't heard of.
The book is centered around Sarah, a young newly single woman from Australia, who books to go sailing round the Greek Islands on a yacht with seven strangers. The relationships between the characters are captivating alongside the sensory descriptions of the scenery and the mouth watering food. It made me so envious that I just wanted to swap places there and then.
Sarah meets two completely different men whilst travelling Josh & James and explores her dilemma of 'choosing' between the two.
I felt the ending was a bit wishy-washy but this didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book. A totally brilliant summer read!

The story of Sarah, a teacher from Australia who is spending 10 days on a boat round Santorini. After a break-up she wants a man free holiday but will it end up that way once she meet Josh and then James?

The end of the book was quite sudden, so maybe there will be a sequel?
