Nice quick weekend read. I don’t usually read supernatural but this book kept me interested. Can’t wait to read book 2.
I was intrigued with this story as I have heard a lot of great things about it lately. It is a unique take on a vampire romance and it is correctly labeled a saga! This is only part one in a larger serial series and it does end abruptly in a cliffhanger. I think the author wrote this entire series and then just cut it a certain parts to put it into serial form; a bit frustrating.
Likes: In part one, we are introduced to Dante, a starving vampire who is free after being held captive and “tortured” by another older, stronger vampire. Looking for blood in order to think clearly enough to figure out his life now, he meets Erin at a blood bank. There is a moment or two of instant attraction, though it is not labeled as such; Erin finds herself wanting to protect and care for Dante. There is a lot of chemistry between these two, and the story is quite filled with it. There is little action, a fair amount of introspection/thoughts and a lot of romance. It is well written and had me turning the pages. I LOVED that Dante had nightmares about his time in captivity; it added to the grit and realness of emotions that this story invokes. The struggle that he has seems very real, and I enjoyed the author’s take on vampires. They are more human and less supernaturally invincible then other stories have made them out to be. I also liked Erin and her personality and way of dealing with Dante.
Dislikes: As I said before this is a SAGA it does seem to go on and on (thought this book is only 117 pages or so) and this is only part one; there are fifteen (15) books to complete this story line. I don’t know that I am going to make it that far as I am a reader who gets bored easily and that is just too many books cover one couple to keep my attention. This story was good and I did enjoy it, but I don’t see myself finishing it anytime soon. I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving an honest review.

Really enjoyed this novella length book. I believe it will be a great story, but I felt it ended a bit too suddenly. I will be looking forward to finishing the story, though.
2.75 - 3 Stars
Even going into the book knowing that this was a novella I still was wanting more. However, I finished lacking the same excitement. The premise was there but it left me frustrated. I understand that novellas are hard to get all of the information into a story with limited words without the audience getting lost and also to get them invested. Unfortunately, this story felt more like the first few chapters and not the whole story condensed and THAT left me very frustrated. Why not just continue the story in its entirety or present it as duet if it becomes too long?
I fully support authors wanting to make money. They do a lot of work to write and promote books and should be awarded accordingly. However, I, as the reader, Need an actual story not just pieces and parts. Even as good as the premise of this story is and seeing the possibilities I am not sure I intend to continue on. That is frustrating for someone who adores books and reading.
I am sure there are others out there that will disagree with me and that is okay. Not every book works for everyone.
This was a complimentary copy courtesy of netgalley - thank you
I had seen this everywhere - amazon feed, book sites so was thrilled to be able to read
I LOVED this !!! It is part of a series and now I sooooo want to get the others to find out how it all develops and ends up
If you like your romance a little dark, the romance a little more twisty turny this is definitely for you
A must have !!!
Blood Bond is an interesting twist on vampire fiction. Dante is the vampire in this tale with a dark and mysterious history, while Erin is a human ER nurse. The two meet at Erin's work, while Dante is engaging in some illegal type activities in the blood bank. The two have an undeniable bond/chemistry and are drawn to one another, for unknown reasons, as of yet. Dante is still learning his way as a vampire, after being held hostage by "her" and it appears Erin will lend a helping hand along the way.
Part one of Blood Bond is captivating and thrilling. Naturally, we get left on a cliffhanger ending that makes me want to go purchase part two IMMEDIATELY.
Well I was interested for a few chapters I was intrigued by Dante and his tortured past. But then Erin comes unto the story and she's fine and all but the whiplash lash oh I want you... To being a jerk and pushing her away gets old quick. I understand the reason but it just gets redudant to quickly for my taste.
I liked this story the uniqueness of the plot and characters was engaging. I don’t know that I will continue this serial as although it was very entertaining, I don’t feel it is worth more than a full sized print books.
Omg.. What an amazing read.
I was teased, tantalised and left wanting more. Cannot praise the author enough for this book!
Nothing else to say except; read this book! It’s a must on your shelf
I was a little unsure about this at first as it is a different take on a vampire romance but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it and will be seeking out more books from this author. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All views are my own.
Unexplainable urged and uncanny need. Blood Bond Saga is a thriving, trembling need. Need for more. Need for everything.
It's a tease into a glimpse of Erin's and Santa's plight.
I really enjoyed Dante's & Erin's story. Dante has been held as a blood slave for a long time & finally escapes. He is need of human blood so he goes to the hospital blood bank. Erin is an ER nurse who happens to catch Dante breaking into the blood bank. There is instant chemistry between them & she doesn't know if she should turn him in or not. Dante feels the chemistry between them but doesn't know if he will be able to control himself around Erin. He knows her secret that she doesn't even know about. I was hooked from the beginning of the story & can't wait for the next book.
I will admit I was kind of leery of this book but I am glad I read it. Ms. Hardt's story rocks. Mix in some vampires with some romance and you have a winner. The writing was superb and allowed the story to flow better. I really liked Erin and I loved Dante. Totally WOW! A great start to the series and look forward to reading more. A+ in my book.
I absolutely adore Helen Hardt and her story telling ability.. She definitely knows how to pull you end and keep you up all night with her books. Blood Bond Saga Part 1 was no different. Super quick read and I can't wait for part 2. Paranormal romance is my jam and Helen Hardt killed it in this novella. Bring on more Vampires in Part 2.
**Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley. All opinions are my own. **
This book is just amazing. I haven’t read a vampire book in a really long time and i have to admit i missed them.
The story is too short for my liking i need more right now!
Dante has been kept captive for ten years; he has no clue whats going on and how to control his urges. And the first thing he run into is her, everything about her drives him crazy and for some reason he can’t resist her.
Erin’s attraction to him doesn’t make any sense, but she can’t make herself worry about it. He is everything she can think about and the only thing in her mind when he is around is taking her clothes of and letting him take her.
But something has been done to him, that not even he is aware of. Letting go and giving their desires full range might be a deadly mistake.
This book was a quick, short read that introduces us to the strange, scary world of the Blood Bond Saga.
We join Dante immediately after he makes his escape. He's been held captive and nearly starved of blood. As a vampire, he tries to balance his hunger with his need to not kill innocents. This, of course, leads him to a blood bank, where he's discovered by Erin. She's a nurse and is instantly drawn to him.
These two dance around one another, each jumping a few steps in the dating ritual, creating a more intense relationship than you'd expect having just met each other in very unusual circumstances. Dante's family life was also unexpected. As an intro, it definitely gave just enough info to have you wanting more.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by this author.
I've been looking for a vampire book & had the opportunity to read this one.
I loved the concept of this book, Helen Hardt took a different turn with vampires.
I really enjoyed reading about Dante & Erin.
I highly recommend!
Helen Hardt is always amazing! This is the start of a phenomenal cannot be missed new series .
Love love love it
Wow! This was a great start to a new series. I was hesitant because it was a vampire novel but I am so glad I read this! Definitely makes me want to continue the series.
