I love the Josie Quinn series so much. I think the first and third books are my favourites. This one didn’t quite grip me as much as those two. However, it is still a great read that kept me guessing the whole time.

Lisa Regan really knows how to write a gripping storyline. I honestly had no idea where it was going and who had done it. The last plot twist was a bit much though and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

I find Noah and Josie's relationship a bit odd and Noah is a bit of a knob in this book but I’m definitely still rooting for them. I also love all the other background characters and getting to know them more. The characters are all so well written and the mood is set perfectly. You just get sucked in.

I highly recommend reading the series in order as it definitely packs more of a punch that way but they can be read as stand alones. I recommend checking them out though. Definitely a firm favourite of mine.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second Josie story, also read # 4. This story kept my attention which was a good thing because there is a lot going on and quite a few characters to contend with.

Josie is an interesting one. She makes some odd choices (and I count Noah in as one of them) but there’s a lot of history there and she is working in a very “male centric” workplace.

I like police procedurals and this author knows how to write one. This one slipped in an unexpected twist on me. It grew quite complicated so beware. Overall, quite entertaining, would recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.

Josie heads to Noahs mothers house for dinner and they find her dead in the back garden. What has happened? Who would want to hurt her? When they search her house they find a file relating to Drew Pratt, the areas most famous missing person. As Josie delves deeper she finds out that Drews brother has also died in suspicious circumstances. What is the connection between Colette and the Pratt brothers? What secret is being hidden? This leads to another murder!

As always Lisa Regan has written another excellent book. Josie Quinn is a fantastic character and I cannot wait to read the next instalment!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Josie has to tread lightly with this case her relationship with .Noah is new and fragile. Is Noah's mom connected with disappearance of Drew Pratt and the murder of his brother, or does she know more than she should causing her own death. This was a good book. It had everything romance mystery and intrigue.

Lisa Regan does it again with another great addition to this series. Attending lunch with Noah’s mother was always going to be stressful as Josie knows she does not like her but little does she know its not Josie’s inability to produce dessert that’s the cause but finding her dead! As Josie tries to investigate her murder her relationship with Noah is under pressure not to mention the bodies stacking up. Clever and complex plots provide lots of tension intrigue

Honestly, I don't know what to say. Every praise word I could think of, I've already said in the reviews for the previous books in this series.

As always, Lisa Regan swept me off and away into the exciting journey as Josie tried to solve a case that was so complicated and yet managed to wrap up perfectly.

And of course, I love the way she manages to add a personal connection of the case with Josie (this time, it being the murder of her boyfriend's mom that started it all) every time, because it makes me that much more eager to solve the case.

All in all, I loved reading The Bones She Buried and I'll be waiting for the next book! (Also, I want Josie and Noah to stick together for life because those two are such a cute couple!)

Book 5 in the Josie Quinn Series and my mind is blown!!

Like seriously

B.L.O.W.N!

I’ve loved Josie from the very first book, caring, loyal and hard as they come…. she certainly knows how to take a punch or two.

Throughout the series I’ve seen her battle relationships so I’ve had my fingers crossed for a good relationship for her for the last couple of books and Noah seems to be the one (PLEASE be the one!) But this case is close to home, a bit too close to home and Josie struggles, which i think we all would in this situation.

The story line is so gripping you need to book free time because you won’t be putting this book down any time soon! Like all 5 books it’s action packed, detailed and has to reading into the small hours (totally worth the lack of sleep if you ask me)

I have to say this is my favourite book of the series and I’m not sure how the author, Lisa Regan is going to top it!

I’m amazed on how gripping this series has been and I’m hoping for more, a lot more of Josie and her team. Now if someone wouldn’t  mind helping me pick my jaw up from the floor, that would be great!

If I had 6 golden apples I’d give it 6!!!

A great thriller with focus on the detective and her team's investigation of several murders that on the surface could not be linked together. It is great to see the way these characters have developed in the series while the focus still remains on the crimes and following them to closure. As the police get closer to the truth, the detectives find themselves following a trail that leads them back to their own families and friends. Lisa Regan has done a great job of keeping the story flowing until the very end.

I like Lisa Regan's writing, her books are always suspenseful, and have good characters. I gave this book 4 stars because it really keeps the pages turning, but it wasn't 5 star interesting to me. I wanted more background on events that took place in the past, perhaps more from the point of view of the people who were involved the mass grave incident. But, overall, a good read.

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book. I love this series. Josie is a great character and one of my favourites!

I read this quickly because once I’d started I needed to know the full story. I’d highly recommend this book!

A murdered Mother, threatened relationship and a hunt for a killer

The action continues here right from the start when Josie and Noah find his mother murdered. Grief and Josie’s drive to find the killer causes some fiction here in this story. Just when I thought Josie was catching a break the murder threatens her relationship and some of Josie’s flaws start to come out. And there I was again yelling at the characters.

The twists and turns keep coming and I started along with Josie spinning in circles trying to follow the leads and clues. In the end I thought everything came together quite well with the case. Now for Josie well I can’t wait for the next book in the series. My fingers are crossed for her!!!

Have you read any books to this series? Have I intrigued you to give it a try? Drop us a comment! We would love to hear from you!

The Bones She Buried – Lisa Regan

I was fortunate to receive this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an objective review.

Detective Josie Quinn is frantically attempting to bake a dessert in hopes of impressing boyfriend Noah Fraley’s mother, but all attempts are in the rash as Noah arrives to pick her up for their evening. Fretting about arriving empty handed, they arrive at the house only to find the front door ajar, the home ransacked, and no signs of Colette, Noah’s mom. As they search the house, they spot her outside on the ground by the garden, with no pulse to be found. Starting CPR, Josie quickly realizes that Colette’s death was no accident – her mouth and throat are packed with soil from the garden.

Devastated by the turn of events, Noah withdraws, while Josie goes into ‘cop’ mode – determined to find justice for Colette – but who would want her dead, and why? And what were they looking for inside the home? Her own search of the home yields a clue – a small bag containing three strange objects; a belt buckle, an arrowhead & a flash drive, labelled Brant.

As Josie and fellow Detective Gretchen Palmer identify the recipient of the flash drive, they discover that he had his brother disappeared under questionable circumstances. Then the Brant brothers surviving sibling is killed, and her home razed…but what is it that the killer trying to hide?? As Josie frantically searches for answers, a killer will do anything to keep secrets hidden – and he’s much closer than anyone imagines…

Another great read by Lisa Regan featuring Detective Josie Quinn, and as usual, it was hard to put this book down! The storyline hooked me from the start and kept me reading well into the night! A fabulous, ‘lighter ’series to get your ‘mystery’ on…looking forward to many more Josei stories from Ms. Regan.

Another page turning book in the Josie Quinn series. Again the murder hits close to home and causes all kinds of problems beside solving a crime. Lisa Regan has never disappointed and she hasn't in this book either. If anyone wants to read a great mystery series this is it.

Josie Quinn book 5 is every bit as riveting as the previous 4. Josie leaves me feeling very frustrated at times due to her rash decisions but that apart, I enjoyed this book. A bit unbelievable at times but plenty action going on to keep the reader engrossed. Another winner for Lisa Regan. My thanks to Net Galley for my ARC Reviews on Amazon, Facebook and Goodreads.

I received a free e-copy of The Bones She Buried (Detective Josie Quinn #5) by Lisa Regan from NetGalley for my honest review.

Wow, wow, wow, Lisa Regan did it again! Another brilliant book, action-packed characters and non-stop action in this police procedural. Lisa Regan has become one of my favorite authors. I honestly hope this series never ends.

Josie and Noah head to Noah's mother's (Colette) house for dinner. When they arrive, they find her home had been ransacked and Colette face down in her garden with a mouth full of dirt. Who would want to hurt sweet, amazing Colette? The medical examiner said the cause of death was asphyxiation. Josie, is helping with the investigation along with Mettner and Gretchen. Gretchen is still on desk duty so she has to help from there.

Noah's pregnant sister, Laura, arrives with her husband and adds a lot of tension and stress onto Josie. Poor Josie is trying to be a good girlfriend, a great detective and now she has to deal with Laura's over-bearing and mean behavior.

As Josie and the team continues to investigate the murder, the clues just keep leading to other people who are murdered. Was Colette really the Saint everyone thought she was? Did she have a secret that she was hiding? A secret that got her killed? But what about the other people who have turned up murdered as well? How are they connected? Will Josie and the team solve this case? Will Josie and Noah's relationship make it through this trying time and his difficult sister? You have to read this book to find out, and I promise you will be glad you did. You can read this book as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the entire series because it is extraordinary.

The Bones She Buried is the 5th book to feature Josie Quinn and the second that I have read.
The romantic relationship that Josie and Noah began in the last book seems to be going well but then they make a devastating discovery.
They go to Noah’s mother’s house for a meal and find her dead in the back garden. Murdered.
Their relationship reaches crisis point as Josie tries to investigate the murder but meets opposition from Noah’s sister who drives a wedge between them. Can Josie solve the murder and keep the man she loves?
Noah’s mum was hiding a secret that got her killed and as Josie investigtes she discovers other murders and disappearances. She needs to explore the past to save other potential victims but her relationship with Noah seems to be falling apart in the process. Josie struggles between her career, wanting to find justice for her lover’s mother, and keeping love.
It is always a sign of a good book when you feel emotion for the characters and I got really annoyed with Noah. I couldn’t believe the way he acted towards Josie considering he is also in law enforcement.
I’ll be perfectly honest: I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as the last book. The narrative structure was completely different and the only flashback to a crime was in the prologue so there was no opportunity to see the killer’s mindset. It was still an enjoyable read though!

Detective Josie Quinn and her partner, also a detective, headed to Noah’s mother’s for dinner. They had no idea that the next few hours would change their lives and those of Noah’s family members for good. As Josie worked desperately to save Colette while Noah called 911, the arrival of paramedics made them both realise it was fruitless. Noah’s beloved mother was dead…

With Noah on compassionate leave and in the care of his sister Laura, Josie and her team began searching for answers. But as the body count rose, so did their suspicions about Colette and her past. It seemed she had held secrets that someone was killing for. Were her children in danger? Josie knew the race was on, but the facts just weren’t adding up. Plus, the length of time which had passed since the first disappearances made it seem the truth would be insurmountable.

Would Josie, Gretchen and Mett find enough evidence to follow the cold trail? Would it lead to Colette’s killer? Or were they destined to think the worst about Noah and Laura’s mother?

The Bones She Buried is the 5th in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and once again I loved it! Intense, gritty and with a rapid-fire pace, it was unputdownable! Josie Quinn is an excellent character; strong, always determined, caring and a great leader. It’s not often I agree with the publishers’ comparisons, but in this case, in my opinion, Angela Marsons and Lisa Regan write similarly exceptional crime thrillers. This is definitely a series I’ll be continuing with 😊Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

The Bones She Buried is the fifth book in this series and did not disappoint. Fabulous thriller and wonderful characters. Excellent writing and a page turner.

This is really an excellent book, but there are a couple of issues in the first part. Any person with an IQ over 50 would avoid burning food 4 times in a row, so this police officer is below. The worst issue is, however, that two experienced police officers don't know first aid. You do NOT start with CPR.
This is part of the C in ABC: Airways - Breathing - Circulation. Please study this!
But beside these issues, this book really is an easy read, with very interesting characters and plot.
