I absolutely loved this book! The idea of best friends who realize that they are 'it' for each other is the whole reason why I wanted to read this book. I fell in love with the characters and rooted for them the whole time they were fighting their attraction and picking their ways through the change from best friend to romantic interest . I highly recommend this as a fun, and emotional read that really engages the reader. I cannot wait to see if the author turns this into a series following the lives of the group of best friends, as the secondary characters also came to life for me and had me engaged also.
Thoroughly enjoyed this friends-to-lovers romance.
I once taught a kid like our heroine, who was one of the guys (these kids were all heavily into soccer), though she happened to be a girl. She just didn't do girl things. I can easily see her life going this way, and I even know the boy she'd be likely to end up with.
Madsen did a great job, I thought. What I really appreciated was that more feminine women were not despised or looked down on. Our heroine was puzzled, not disgusted. I loved the female friendship developed here, so tentative, paralleling the evolution of the romance.
Thoroughly enjoyable!
This was my first Cindi Madsen book and I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I love a good friends to lover romance and this story fit the bill. I love the bond that Addie had with all of her boy-friends. The fact that she was just “one of the guys” from high school really cemented the relationship she had with all of them. Of course Tucker was extra special and that’s where it gets complicated.
I love a book that actually lets us get a feel for the characters before jumping into the “I’m so in love with you category”. Tucker and Addie have a history and they are hesitant to take the step into relationship category. You feel the push and pull of emotions between the two, but ultimately you want them to end up together.
I really enjoyed the “conflict” part of the story. It didn’t happen in the last few chapters and then boom everyone was tied up real nice and neat. Feelings get hurt when you cross the line between friendship and something more. And I loved the way Cindi Madsen portrayed not just Tucker and Addie’s thoughts and feelings but also their close friends and families as well. Great read and I can’t wait to read more from this author! **ARC provided by Entangled Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion**
Thank you Netgalley. This is the first book from Cindi Madsen that I've read, but I liked the description and I'm glad I took the time to read it. Although I have very little in common with the characters in this book, it was impossible not to fall in love with them. Poor Addie. Under that tough exterior was a girl so insecure about her femininity she was afraid to allow herself to be a girl. And her unwillingness to acknowledge how she felt about Tucker made her willing to swallow her pain and give up on him. Luckily, he understood her and was strong enough to risk his heart. It was an enjoyable book and I recommend it.
Two long time friends develop feelings for each other and want to explore them without input from the rest of their small town in this sweet romance. Addie is one of the guys, a fact that is reiterated over and again. She loves football and cannot walk in heels. Tucker is returning to his hometown after finding out that his big city job was not giving him the life he wanted, or any life at all outside of the office. As they reconnect they discover feelings that are far from friendly but if things do not work out they could damage a life long friendship. I liked this book. Addie and Tucker are good characters and I genuinely wanted them to work through their issues. I did story overly long and the ending was not satisfying for me. However it was still fun and I loved their group of friends. I hope some of the secondary characters get their own books because I would love to go to poker night with them all again.

Found this to be an adorable read! There is strong unbreakable friendships, doubt and attraction. The characters have unique connections and interactions throughout this book. I will definitely read more from this author.
Received copy thru Netgally for review; all opinions expressed are my own.
I loved this book! The slow build up to a beautiful ending made this story even more sweet. Both the characters are likable and you just want them to find their happy ever after.
This was a sweet friends-to-lovers romance about Addie, a tomboy who is also best friends with a group of guys in a small Alabama town. But there is one guy in the group, Tucker, who is more than just a friend in her eyes. They finally decide to try for something more but then their insecurities create barriers for their new romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
ust One of the Groomsmen (Getting Hitched in Dixie #1) by Cindi Madsen ... The first book in a new series.. Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me review this book. This is a best friends to lovers story of Addison(Addie) and Tucker's story...Addie is like one of the boys with her friends..Tucker, Shep, Ford and Easton...They have hung out since high school and they think of her as one of the guys...so when Shep is getting married he asks her to be one of the Groomsmen. Tucker moves back to town and the sparks begin to flicker between them...There are a lot of wonderful people in this small town..and many things to work through ...laughs, tears, angst and steamy stuff all getting them to a HEA... I look forward to the next book in this series..
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Unpredictable Witty Easy-to-read Steamy Action-packed Page-turner Happily Ever After Entertaining Romantic Great world building Funny
Loved this book! Sweet and sexy beginning to end. Loved the build of heat and sparks between Tucker and Addie. The great story and characters that I have come to expect from Cindi Madsen.
Cindi's book ways make me smile and this one was no exception. I loved her take on the friends to lovers trope. Cindi changes the aspects of the friendships by having Addison as the only girl among a group of men, all of them best friends and caring about each other all the same, well maybe not the same since Addison and Tucker cross that line.
As always Cindi's stories are well written and each character is such an important part of the story that you can't wait for more from them as well. It was so much fun watching Tucker and Addison navigate the changes in their relationship with lots of laughs and tender moments to keep you fully invested in the story.
Having read two totally different books from Cindi Madsen (but equally loved them) I was very excited to see yet another new book of her. Whereas Until We're More is more about martial arts, The Wedding Deal about a NFL-team, this one focuses on the relationships which have grown between a group of boys and one toyboy girl during high school. Addison (known as Addie) has been 'one of the guys' through out the years. Playing poker, drinking beer and getting all the teachers riled up. And as the years progressed, she still hangs out with them. Unfortunately, only one of their tight knit (and Addie's best friend) Tucker has moved away to become a lawyer. Addie enjoys living in the small town she grew up, although it can be difficult sometimes, when everybody remembers all the mischief you have done over the years. And then Shep announces his marriage to his girlfriend and when he asks Addie to be one of the groomsmen... but only in a dress... Although Addie hates dresses, she would do everything for 'her guys'. So she evens put on a dress to the bachelorette party. Not very handy when the car breaks down and you have to get under the car to fix it. When Tucker arrives in town, he is immediately drawn to the feisty woman with the curvy formes below the car.... Only to realize that she is no other than his best friend. But hooking up with your best friend is awkward and a big no no... Because what would the other guys think of their group then? Or should Tucker just let her hook up with the new dentist in town? Find out more about cupcakes, tule, the perfect wedding and friend dynamics. A wonderful read. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Loved this book. 4 guys and one girl were friends most of their lives. Tucker was a lawyer that moved away to the big city and didn'g get home often. Addie was the girl of the group but truly was one of the guys. Shep brings Lexi into the group when he gets engaged and throws everything off a little. It was fun to read how the dynamics of the groups changed when love is in the air. Sports, romance, love, misunderstandings. and new beginnings are all in the book. A very fun read

First off this was an amazing book and I highly recommend it. This is my first book by this author and I was not disappointed. It was a little hard for me to get into at the beginning, but I kept at it and ended up loving it way more than I thought I would. Addie and Tucker and amazing and so perfect for one another. I felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster and found myself laughing (out loud) and even crying at certain parts. I struggled to find a connection with Addie at first, but as she slowly started to embrace her girlishness, I started to like her more. I wish the book could go on forever and would love for there to be more books to follow this group of friends... or even a follow up with Addie and Tucker.
Addie has been one of the guys for as long as anyone can remember. However they are growing up and girlfriends are coming into the picture and she is having to realize that this isn't the norm and deal with the fallout. The first in their group pops the question and convinces his fiance to allow Addie to be a groomsman.
Not only is this change happening but also one the guys, Tucker is moving home and she starts to see him in a different light. He has always been the one she got into trouble with as a kid/teen but now things just seem different.
Tucker feels it too, but do you take a chance with someone who your grew up with and is your best friend just to see if you can work. What if things don't go well?
I adored this couple. The author did an amazing job at pulling the reader in to make them understand the friendship between these two characters and also with the group. My heart hurt for both parties when decisions were being made and hurt words were being said. Mrs. Madsen made you feel for these characters and made you completely invested in the outcome.
This was a fun and lighthearted read. I enjoyed it,

This is one of those small southern town, everybody knows your business 'cause all they have to do is go to the town gossip, Mrs. Lottie, feel good stories. Even the Southern conversations are written correctly. I know, because I'm from the South and that's exactly how I talk. I just love authenticity! It's a quick read, the pages filled with laugh out loud antics and some truly gut wrenching moments. Grandma Nonna is a hoot! Take a trip to Uncertainty, Alabama and fall in love with the townsfolk there. If you're a fan of Cindi Madsen you can't miss out on this one and if you've never read any of her work "Just One of the Groomsmen" is the perfect one to start with!

This had all my emotions all tangled up. A sweet story of a group of tight knit friends. Addie and Tucker have been friends since childhood. He moves back to their small town and realizes how much he really missed Addie. His feelings have changed from more then friends and that’s when things begin to get complicated. It’s a sweet fun easy read.
