This author is 100 right, the two quickest ways to keep peoples attention on reality TV is through violence and sex.

Within this book we follow 20 young adults as they compete as either a hunter or hunted. Hunters are men who have shown that they are warriors on the battle field. The hunted a young women who are virgins and are willing to loose their virginity on intergalactic television. Now, why would the hunters or hunter want to have sex on television, well for money of course. But, we our two main character meet eat other on the stage and immediately feel possessive of each other we know that this virgin game is not going to be like any other. Secrets are uncovered about people's ancestry, family, sexual origin, sexual needs, and love emerges from that.

I would highly recommend this book I enjoy how the author built the world and the characters within it. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

If you're looking for an erotic, alien, romantic...fairytale, look no further!

The Virgin Hunt Games is sexy, action-packed, and even has a happy ending...swoon! There's a prince, bad-ass female, and plenty of steamy scenes, everything you could want in an erotic alien romance. The side characters are interesting, the story is fast-paced and intriguing, and it's all tied up with a sexy bow ;)

Thanks so much to Entangled Publishing for providing an e-copy for me to read and honestly review. I devoured this one!

I enjoyed The Virgin Hunt Games. It was fun and steamy. It's The Hunger Games, but with a lot of sex... and aliens. I am hoping the next book dives more into the various other planets and intergalactic communities. But book one has things off to a pleasant start.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this title.

This book had promise, and was a quick read, but not very exciting. The plot was formulaic, other than the addition of aliens, and it was pretty easy to see the end shortly after beginning the novel. That said, it wasn't bad, just not very memorable either.

This is my first book by this author so I had no expectations, but I could resist a book with this title. It is not your standard paranormal sci fi book, that is for sure.

I enjoyed the main characters. Melody was a strong, smart woman with a strong sense of justice. And she knew what she wanted.

Damon went in with one goal, but he didn’t count on Melody. I enjoyed their interactions together and their banter.

For me personally the ratio sex scene and story was a bit off. After the first couple of sex scenes I skimmed them in favor of the story.

ARC is provided through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Damon cupped her face, his serious gaze searching hers. “It’s okay to be scared. It’s when you don’t feel fear anymore that you need to worry.” I really did enjoy it - was exactly how I imagined it or what I expected that the story is going to be. Was also fascinated that the author has a very creative way descibing the steamy scenes in different variations.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by this author - probably going to get myself book 2 as well ;)

Its usually hit or miss with books like this. You know its going to be smut, which I am proudly here for, you just hope that its well written with a decent plot. This was a very well written, dirty version of the Hunger Games. Is it wrong to say this is plausible? Not necessarily the murderous part, but I definitely believe that the human race would watch sexcapades like this. This is well written smut, and if kink is your thing, definitely give this a read.

I was given a copy of NetGalley's The Virgin Hunt Games in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely mine.
WARNING: violence, brutal and horrific deaths, threats of rape, sexual violence and aggression.

The year is 2324. Earth and humans are not the only species that make up the galaxy. The life we know has changed. A new challenge was introduced called the Virgin Hunt Games. The hunters, males who are warriors, creeps, friends hunt the hunted, the virgin females. Each hunter and hunted are paired together as mates. The males must attempt to take the virginity of their mated females while she tries to “bed” the other hunters in a multi-level arena where each level is a world of its own with life threatening challenges and contestants. They must stay alive for seven days to be released.
Melody Simmons accepts to participate for credits, or money, to avoid her family's farm being sold. She doesn’t care who she sleeps with, as long as she stays clear from her assigned mate. Damon Banscott has no interest in money. He has another agenda he wants to fulfill. But when Melody and Damon connect eyes, they know they need each other. Can Melody stay away from her mate with the help of Damon? Can they live through that nightmare together?
The Virgin Hunt Games is one heck of a fun book to read. Typically, I wouldn’t be down to read a sci-fi erotic romance, but I'm thrilled I did for this one. It kept me on the edge of my seat, making me wonder what was going to happen from one day to the next. Normally, the female is a stereotypical woman where you can guess her next move almost every time. Melody is the complete opposite. She's hard-core, and she has survival skills while being intelligent and talented. Damon is unique. He has traits not found in humans, but they become traits that help him and Melody stay alive. They’re love blooms differently from the challenges they face and, may I say, becomes extra steamy.
There’s plenty of sex scenes. But it’s not overly done. The plot fits perfectly where there is a lot happening; the balance is just to be interesting and a page turner. The ending was quite obvious, but there were many differences to keep it interesting. The only downfall is I wish more levels of the arena were uncovered. It was a beautiful landscape so I can only imagine how much the other levels were magnificently haunted.
If you love The Hunger Games but need a spicy replacement, you should read this book. Also, if you need sexy books to read, you might want to try The Virgin Hunt Games. I promise you won't be sorry.

The Virgin Hunt Game reminded me of an alien Hunger Games with sex. A steamy, erotic novel, the story follows Melody, a virgin who enters the game to get money for her family. Damon is an alien prince who enters the game seeking revenge on another male participant and falls in love with Melody. Melody knows that the more sex and orgasms she has, the more money she wins. However, will her feelings for Damon stop her from winning the game? Other obstacles and contestant impede Melody and Damon’s success, and they must work together to survive the Virgin Hunt Games.

The instant connection between Melody and Damon is steamy, as are their intimate scenes. The kinkier the sex, the more points Melody receives in the game, and she is pretty willing to do whatever she must to win the game and get money to her family. Damon is intent on revenge and isn’t prepared for the instant-love he feels for Melody.

I liked the setting of the games, which is a multi-level structure with different themes, obstacles, and dangers on each floor. The contestants must survive (and have as much sex as possible) for the seven-day game, and each day is filled with non-stop threats. The animals, contestants, and setting are unique and vividly described. I did wish there were a bit more development in terms of the plot and character, especially in regards to Damon, Melody, and the friends they make in the games. That being said, it is a creative and quick read with a lot of action, good imagery, and vivid sex scenes.

I think people who enjoy erotic sci-fi romance with a variety of characters and some spicy sex scenes will enjoy this story. However, abuse, potential sexual assault, sexual threats, manipulation, and violence might trigger some readers. Thanks to Entangled: Scorched and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Defective by Mel Teschco was like adult Hunger Games with erotic twist to it.

It was entertaining, full of danger and action scenes, very steamy moments and romance. It was dark and suspenseful at times. However, there should be trigger warning for attempted rape and bloody death scenes.

This was not a deep, meaningful story or a great fantasy with well developed world-building. If you are looking for something like that, you won't find it here.
This was simply a purely entertaining guilty pleasure read, nothing more and nothing less. And it offered me what I was looking for just a fast escape from reality for one evening, so I gave it 4.5 stars.

Far into the future they have something called The Virgin Games which is similar to the survival games you see in tv and the movies but this one is based on virginity and how you lose it. Melody is willing to enter the games to make money to save her parents farm from being sold and she figures with her training in law enforcement it shouldn’t be too bad.
Damon is entering this virgin games to get revenge on Bastion but he didn’t expect to get attached to Melody just by looks alone and when she is assigned to Bastion just made his revenge that much sweeter.
This is not a typical love story or even a war story but a story of love and survival, it’s an easy read and very fast paced.

This book was an interesting take into Sci-Fi, so obviously I had to try it up. Unfortunately, even if it was erotica, it didn’t really tickle my fancy.

The sex scenes and action were fine, mind you, but as a whole the book didn’t fulfill me. Damon was the usual ‘manly’ alpha guy, but I found him boring, and I’m ashamed to say I skipped some of his monologues... (don’t kill me!)

Melody... yes, I liked her. She had a good head on her shoulders (for the most part) and she wasn’t annoying and bratty like a lot of female protagonists are nowadays.

The storyline was a good one, if a bit short. Yes, other people have already said how it resembles the Hunger Games a bit, but personally I didn’t really feel it that way. It was more of a... well, more of a Sex Games?? With a sprinkle of Big Brother (damn, but those commentators were annoying! You could be having sex and they would be just commenting on it... like, do you mind? Ugh)

Some parts were a bit unrealistic (fine! It’s Sci-Fi, I get it 🙄😂) and some were boring... but at the end of the day it was an enjoyable read to spend some hours with :)

Survivor meets Hunger Games meets Big Brother meets Sex Club - that's my take on this sci-fi adventure! It's insta-lust/insta-love for Damon and Melody who are not supposed to be matched in the Virgin Hunt games but end up together. Virgins (the hunted) get credits for orgasms, the kinkier the sex the better and if they end up with hunters who aren't their matches, even better for them! Trapped in a multi-level tower with dangers at every turn, and cameras following the participants, Damon and Melody hook up quickly (goodbye virginity! Hello credits!) and then have to survive the week in one piece. Damon's mortal enemy, Bastion, is also in the games and he's the one who is supposed to 'catch' Melody so that adds for extra stress for both. Melody has a fear of water (so naturally they end up on the water level) and escaping the various situations and figuring out who are allies and who are enemies is all part of the game. Plenty of sex and violence and not everyone makes it out alive but our couple gets their happy ever after. If you're looking for an adventurous and steamy escape, you'll enjoy this one.

Note: I was going to post a review at Amazon but I see it has been pulled with an author's note that there will be some series changes, so for now there is only a review on Goodreads.

Defective is an erotic/sci-fi/romance novel - whilst it is the first of this kind of genre that I have read, it is a mix of my favourite genres so of course I jumped at the opportunity to read it!

The premise itself is intriguing and the story is easy to follow which is great. The hunted must avoid their hunters for 7 days whilst trying to survive the arena game and must experience pleasure with any hunter but the one assigned to them. As many people have pointed out, it kind of reminded me of Hunger Games-esque world but with a more mature theme.

The descriptive work throughout the novel is fantastic, each character, place, situation is described so well you can literally see the story play out in front of you.

Also, let's not forget the STEAMMMM. Each encounter is different from the last keeping it fresh and sexy.

The interesting storyline will hook you immediately and you'll stay for the deliciously sexy read that any fan of this genre will enjoy!

Mel Teshco “Defective” was a definitely smut-worthy read. I was apprehensive to pick up this series up since Sci-fi stories often times are a hit or miss for me but overall I was left impressed by the authors work. The premise of the series is like very much like the “Hunger Games” but with more of a Sci-fi and Erotica element to it. “Defective” was filled with steamy sex scenes and action but I will mention the only downside to this series was the instant love. Can anyone really fall in love with in love with someone in six to seven days? Realistically no. Yet seeing how this book falls more into the erotica genre, I'll ignored that bit. Besides that factor, I'll keep Mel Teshco on my author radar and will keep a lookout on any future releases from her.

I’ve been on a romantic- erotic sci/fi binge of sorts lately. So when the opportunity to review this came my way I jumped on it. This is a new to me author, even though she seems to have an extensive backlist.

The set up for this Defective is a reality TV based competition named the Virgins Hunt Games, where Hunters are paired with women called the Hunted and the objective is sex. The kinkier the better. Hunters win by finding their mates and pleasing them to the fullest. Hunteds win by having sex with as many Hunters as possible (especially catching Hunters before they deflower their mates) and having many, may orgasms.

This was a fast paced, super sexy space romp. As weird as it sounds it felt like Hunger Games: Science Fiction Sex Addition. These games aren’t just a bunch of people running around humping, they are also fighting each other and the life threatening obstacles the show developers keep throwing their way.

The hero, Damon, is there to get revenge on another Hunter and the heroine, Melody, is competing to fill her families coffers. They just happen to have an instant attraction that only intensifies the longer they stay together. Yes, there is a lot of insta lust and love, but I did enjoy this couple and the sexiness of the story. I would like to see some of the secondary characters get their own HEAs.

Overall, this was a fun, sexy read. Not too much depth, but easy to fall into for a few hours.

Defective is a sci-fi erotic romance novel by Mel Teshco. In the novel, Defective is the term used for someone carrying the DNA of different races. The novel is set in future Earth Year 2324. The universe has evolved. Earthlings are no longer the only known species. The Olympics have been replaced with the Virgin Hunt Games. Participants earn monetary credits based on their sexual exploits in the seven-day game.

Damon Banscott doesn’t need the money, but he does need revenge against his sworn enemy. The game will give him the opportunity he’s been waiting for. It’s only about revenge until he lays eyes on Melody.

Melody Simmons is the only female from Earth in the game. It’s all about the money until she sees Damon. Now she can earn a few credits and enjoy herself with a fine male specimen.

The characters are vividly described, and the environment is a real part of the story. I was pleasantly surprised that there is real romance and not just a series of sex scenes. Though there’s plenty of sex, it’s underscored by actual romance. Bonds are formed between lovers and friends. I absolutely loved the ending.

I got much more than I expected. Defective is a great surprise and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. For fans of erotica this is a must-read. If explicit sex and vulgarity bother you, this is certainly not the book for you.

My thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy. However the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Defective by Mel Teshco is an alien romance based on a similar premise to the Hunger Games, except here we have a group of hunted and hunters who are participating in the Virgin Hunt Games. Yup, it’s messed up lol. The hunters are warriors, assassins, all kinds of hard-bodied males. The hunted are female virgins. Each hunted is assigned a hunted mate and has to hunt her down and…engage in sexual intercourse. Those are essentially the basic rules of the games; there are other rules involved in this game, but I’ll let you discover them yourself if you decide to pick up a copy.

Our hero, Damon, is only participating in the game to take revenge against one of the other hunters. Our heroine, Melody, is only participating in the game so that she can earn enough money to save her family from poverty. As messed up as the premise is, I would be lying if I said the book didn’t hook me from the very beginning. These alien romances are addicting, I tell you. I devoured this book.

I enjoyed Defective for the most part, but I had a hard time connecting to the characters, especially the heroine. The writing was decent, but it was a little weaker than the other alien romances I’ve read. There were also some repetitions that kind of annoyed me. I was also curious about the world outside the Games, especially Damon’s planet, which we didn't get to explore. I wonder if the author will continue this series and if she does continue the series, I wonder if she’ll explore other settings.
