I love this book. Usually, I’m not a fan of romance. I read very little contemporary romance, but historical romance is right up my alley for some reason. I don’t read a lot of it, but this one captured my attention and I just knew I had to read it.

This one is a fluffy romance, not usually my thing (no chick flick moments thanks) but I enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace for me. Rogue Most Wanted was beautifully written, the characters are fleshed out and the plot moves along at a great pace.

The writing and the scenes are beautiful and filled with emotion. I mean this book even made me feel something, and I have no soul. The only thing that bothered me about the book is the misunderstandings that ensue from a lack of communication. It’s one of my most hated plot devices, but I could live with this one.

Lady Theodora Worth only had her grandfather as family and he had a terrible last few years.

The staff helped her hide his health problems from the world. Now he's gone and she should inherit the Scottish title of Countess and the lands that go with it. Unfortunately a distant cousin who inherits the English title and the rest of the lands is not satisfied with his share. She needs to call on an elderly neighbour for help.

Lord William Cavensham suffered heartbreak when he was young and has burried himself in his work for his large and loving family ever since. When his darling aunt Stella calls for him urgently, he doesn't hesitate.

This is a very emotional story and you will need a box of tissues. Our strong, intelligent but naive heroine needs to brave the big bad city of London and the rumours that are circulating about her. Our hero is kind and helpful but is not going to make the sacrifice his aunt wants.

There are lots of fabulous characters in this story, some of which you might have met in previous books in the series. Each book can be read on it's own .

I loved it and others the I've read.

I liked the story but didn’t aspects of the story. I like the characters and the premise but I felt the waffling went on too long and it detracted from what could be a awesome awesome romance aspect to the book. The fight for her rights and seeing how William fought beside her and with her not trying to take over was awesome.

For over half of the book Theodora and William are saying they aren’t going to get married and they aren’t in love. They were determined not to marry one another and that was great at the beginning. It made the story more fun at the beginning but as the story went on and we see how great they are together and how William fights for her and believes in her and her capabilities-the arguing about their feelings and not wanting to marry one another gets old. Their reasoning does too.

At first you can understand where William is coming from. You see him get hurt in the beginning and decide to protect himself. He also gets caught up in his family, friends and his work. This satisfies him but as those around him settle down you can tell he was affected and wanted more even if he didn’t admit it to himself right away. He was a great character. Honest, kind, caring, generous and believed women should be more than just someone by his side and in society. He supported Theodora and saw how amazing she was. He gave her support, lifted her up and gave her the courage and strength she needed to fight. He helped her believe in herself and gave her confidence. He like Theodora believed in the believe that were in their charge- whether in their employ or in their area creating a life for their families. They weren’t afraid to work for others and get their hands dirty. They genuinely cared about those around them. He was just as stubborn as Theodora only he stopped fighting his feelings quicker than she did. That is why I like him more. He let go and opened up faster.

Theodora was smart, caring and genuine. She was stuck in a rock and a hard place. You can understand why when William first came over she was the way she was. But once he showed he genuinely wanted to help lay off man. He was a good guy. She saw this and began to thaw even allow herself to feel but she was stubborn and obstinate. Too stubborn and obstinate. ANd her decision towards the end where we got just a little angst made me angry.

Don’t get me wrong-these two are great characters. Kind, caring and gentle. Just their taking almost the whole book of being stubborn on feelings took away from the story a bit. It bogged it down for you didn’t see growth much. I saw more in William than in Theodora and I think that is because he admits his feelings faster. Granted her situation dictated more of her actions that and her obstinance. Overall I did enjoy the story and seeing her stick it too people. I enjoyed the romance they had once it began and loved how they were with one another.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was such a heart-breaker! I cried in a couple of spots. Thea is the Countess of Eanruig since the passing of her grandfather. It is an old Scottish title and one that could go to someone else if Thea is unable to find the charter to the earldom. Thea mets her neighbor's great-nephew Lord William Cavensham and asks if Will could be a friend to her as she doesn't have any friends. Will and Thea travel to London so she can appear before a committee to decide if Thea has any rightful claim to her title as her grandfather's successor to the dukedom is claiming he should also have the title (so he can claim Ladykyrk, her estate.)

The tale of these two is one that was fascinating and hard to put down. I have adored the prior stories in this series and was glad to see all of the prior characters here. It was like see old friends again as they help these two on their journey to their HEA. Poor William was jilted at the tender age of 19 and has vowed to never fall in love again. Seeing him fall for Thea and their fight to be able to love each other was so romantic and tender. I fell for William myself. He is such a strong man but caring at the same time. He was the right man for Thea as she struggles to protect her people. She is willing to sacrifice herself by marrying another if she must for the tenants of Ladykyrk, that is how strong and protective she is. She is the perfect foil for Will.

I adored the dual POV format. Seeing the thoughts of both of these characters really touched my heart and l totally was enchanted with their love story. I highly recommend this story and say that I will probably read and re-read this series. This is the kind of story that stays with one.

The cover is beautiful with the romantic couple dancing on that fabulous golden yellow background. It glows. I thought it was one of the better romance covers I saw this spring.

The story was quite good, but one we seem to be seeing a lot of lately. The young lady has decided she isn’t going to marry, then is forced to by the needs of her estate. While the young man is helping in some way and ends up falling for the young woman. In this case, our heroine is being forced to marry as she can’t find the documents that prove the estate is hers and marriage may be the only way she can keep it.

While our hero is busy providing handsome eligible bachelors for her to meet and look over, he is also busy falling in love with her. Her feelings for him aren’t neutral either. After a while, they are both just paying lip service to their refusal to marriage between them, of course. This is a romance, you know. It was fun and it was entertaining and I love the cover. It would make a great book to read by the pool this summer!

Mayfair - 1804

Lord William (Will) Cavensham, At the tender age of 19, Lord William (Will) Cavensham second son of the Duke and Duchess of Langham, has fallen in love with his third cousin, Lady Avalon Cavensham. They have agreed that they wish to marry so when Will goes to her father to ask for her hand, he finds that she is already betrothed to another man. Humiliated and broken hearted, Will vows that he will never marry.

Ladykyrk Estate, Northumberland - 1814

Lady Theodore (Thea) Worth, Countess of Eanruig, has just lost her grandfather, the Duke of Ferr-Colby. He had raised her from the time her parents passed away when she was just a baby. Upon his death, a distant cousin, Mr. Garrett Fairfax, became the next Duke, but Thea became the Countess of Eanruig per an agreement set down by the King many years ago. She also inherits all the properties pertaining to the title. Now, Fairfax is challenging her right to the title and properties. Therefore, she must go to London to defend herself before the House of Lords’ Committee for Privileges. In addition. it would look better for her case if she was married. Unfortunately, Thea is unable to find the document showing this agreement. Her neighbor agrees to help her. She is the great aunt to Will Cavensham so she summons him saying there is a dire emergency which she has used many times before to get him to come to her. Meeting Thea, they both say they do not wish to marry, Will because he was hurt in the past and she needs to stay at Ladykyrk to care for the residents of the area. So, off they go to London to stay with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Langham.

Will Thea be successful in remaining at Ladykyrk and the Countess? Will she and Will fall in love?

This is a sweet story of a truly innocent and sheltered young woman as she is introduced to London and society for the first time. Will is a man who sincerely cares for his family and will do everything ensure their happiness.

Ah, William is such a sweet little poor thing, I love him so much. In fact, I loved every single character in this book (with the exception of the obvious villains, of course). What made this fake-relationship/friends-to-lovers romance so special was the emphasis on family. I loved watching Thea fall in love with them as much as I enjoyed watching her fall in love with William. This was my first Janna MacGregor book, but it will absolutely not be the last!

This was not one of my favorite books which is surprising as this is one of my go to genres. I think I am past the mother says you have to marry boy is quoted as being a rogue when he is not. They have been in love since childhood and don't want to face it.
Especially as it was Thea's book I was petting something spectacular.

Rogue Most Wanted by Jana MacGregor
Cavensham Heiresses #5

Lady Theodora Worth, Countess of Eanruig, has cared for her grandfather and his estates for years before he dies only to have the inheritor of the Dukedom, also held by her grandfather, taking her to court saying she is NOT the true countess of the earldom and that is is in fact his instead. To avert this trouble her friend, Stella, brings in Lord William Cavensham, a second son, as a possible husband for Thea. The two do not want to marry and say so from the get-go only to realize before the end of the book that indeed they do want a HEA...together.

This book had the evil duke out to get Thea’s estates, a crazy sensation paper making snide comments throughout the book that made little sense overall in the story, Will’s family supporting both of them, a court scene that seemed a bit of a farce and a treasure hunt for the document that would prove once and for all whether or not Thea was indeed the Countess. Oh, there was also some romance between Thea and Will. This was an okay read for me but a bit tame and predictable.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

The Rogue Most Wanted is the 5th book in the Cavensham Heiresses series and follows William, the cousin in The Good, The Bad and The Duke, and Thea, a woman trying to keep the property left to her by her grandfather. Thea is being challenged by her miserable cousin and needs to marry someone in order to keep her Scottish castle and the land.

Will and Thea are brought together by Will’s Aunt, however, they are against marrying each other. Will was jilted as a young man and has closed himself off. He wants the great love his parents have and has decided it’s not for him. Thea refuses to marry the first man she is offered by and wants a comparison with two he other eligible men in London.

I had a hard time with this one. I was incredibly excited to get Will’s story after meeting him in the previous book, but I felt his character fell flat. I also wished that there was either more angst or they got together quicker. There wasn’t really a good reason why they couldn’t marry each other and to deal with their protests and attraction through 3/4 of the book was tiresome.

I received this arc from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Rogue Most Wanted
The Cavensham Heiresses Series - Book 5
By Janna MacGregor

St Martin's - July 2019

Historical Romance

Lady Theodora Worth had spent the past several years taking care of her grandfather and the Ladykyrk estate. Her actions hadn't been simply out of obligation. She had loved her grandfather and hadn't wanted anyone to know how ill and confused he had become. Thea had taken over running the estate, maintaining the books, and making the decisions. She cared for the tenants and the land. She was now the Countess of Eanruig, as the title could be passed to a daughter, and Ladykyrk was hers to care for.

Only there was a challenger. Someone claimed that the title should follow only to male heirs, and she needed to find the charter. Unfortunately, in later years, her grandfather had taken to hiding things, and she had no idea where it might be. She had to go to London and plead her case. She was also told that having a husband would probably help. Luckily, a neighbor was willing to come to her aid and offered her nephew not only to assist, but also to be a potential husband.

Lord William Cavensham had failed at love, and now spent most of his time helping his family. When his aunt asks for him to assist her neighbor, he readily agrees, but has no intention of marrying her. Thankfully, Thea has no intention to marry the first man she meets either, and they fall quickly into a good friendship.

Unfortunately, Will soon realizes friendship is much less than he wants with Thea.

Rogue Most Wanted was a romance full of friendships, family and love. I adored how all the Cavenshams gathered Thea into their fold and supported her. Thea had been living mostly in seclusion and had only had a few confidants for so many years, and this was exactly what she needed. Will was the perfect hero, willing to be simply a friend, but it was obvious he was meant for so much more. The challenges Thea faced regarding her birthright was intriguing, and it was fascinating to see the differences of how a woman could inherit in her own right. I hope we get to visit the Cavenshams again soon.

Rogue Most Wanted is the fifth entry in The Cavensham Heiresses series and focuses on Will Cavensham, a man previously jilted and who has sworn off love for the foreseeable future. Not the most original story line, but I have always liked the author's writing style so I stuck with it which I'm glad I did. And while it was fairly predictable, I thought it was enjoyable.

I really liked Thea's personality and character and although you have the really strong feeling she will win everything in the end (it is a romance novel after all), I definitely was on her side in all of this. She had a strong will and was very positive in her outlook on life. I wasn't overly crazy about the romance aspect in this story as I didn't really feel that spark between them like in previous books, so I chose to focus more on Thea's fight to save her inheritance and the plight of women during this time period. Women had so little rights during this time period, but Scottish women tended to have a bit more independence which is why I think I tend to prefer Scottish romances a bit more. I always find the intrigues of who is who and what is what quite fascinating and will probably never tire of the endless rules and etiquette one had to learn in order to move among the ton successfully. Thea, having grown up isolated on her grandfather's estate during his illness, had not learned a lot of the etiquette required of her in society so I found her instruction to be interesting. And when I thought that was more interesting than the romance, I knew there was a small problem.

To be fair, I really liked both Will and Thea, but Will was a bit too syrupy for my taste. He was sweet and kind, but really didn't do anything. And while they both had a history that clearly defined who they were, I don't really think it was used enough to develop the story and the attraction. And Thea felt like she could trust him so much upon meeting him that she could share her darkest secrets with him. It just didn't sit right with me. So what we have is a story that is interesting, but isn't steamy. There is little to no push-play between them and I think I just wanted to feel that physical attraction between them a bit more. There wasn't a whole lot of drama, and Thea's capitulation seemed a bit out of character for a lady during this time period, especially one who was focused on trying to save her childhood home and title. It is interesting to note that one of my favourite scenes is where Lady Avalon returns, the woman who jilted Will; you could just feel the tension and I was really fascinated by that scene, wondering where it would go. For the first time, I felt real sparks happening.

Rogue Most Wanted isn't exactly what I was expecting as I just didn't feel that connection between the two main characters. I liked both of them a lot, but just not necessarily with each other. I tended to struggle with the pacing of this book, but it is well-written and I really, really liked the secondary characters, some of whose stories I've already read, some I hope are forthcoming. It does read decently as a standalone so if you haven't read the previous entries in this series, you will be fine. As for those sparks? Looks like they will be happening in the next book in this series, Wild Wild Rake, to be published in 2020. Furthermore, I would recommend a couple of the earlier entries in this series, in particular The Luck of the Bride.

This is Book 5 and while I'm not a great lover of Historical books - my mother is and when she gets hyped over a book and starts yelling at it...I know I'm in for a long night. So apparently, my mom did not like some characters in this book and she loves drama and this book didn't have a lot which is right down my alley because I hate drama. I may have loved this after all if there's hardly any drama but my mother kept throwing down her earphones so I don't know that that's a good thing. I do know that she said the storyline was good but Theo was sometimes and I quote "a gnome" and that her bad word!!!!

Thanks Negallery for this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the book 5 of the Cavensham heiress. I've only read book 3,4 and now book 5 of the series.

I didn't love this book I didn't feel Wills feelings for Thea. I felt they were not true and I didn't understand Thea she was in a rush to save her lands but she didn't want to accept will because he was the first one to ask? That part didn't make sense to me.

I did like that the book was low drama at the end of the day I just wasn't feeling this book.

I love historical romances but I have to be in the mood to read them. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for this book. The sex was hot but I just wasn't feeling the connection between these two so it made it hard to get into it.

The book was written well, it was a good story. I think it's a more of a "it's a me thing not you"

Intrigue and romance, with a twist!

Elderly ladies masquerading as fairy god mothers, a happy family, a handsome son thwarted in love and a young countess besieged on all sides with her title and lands under threat, a wicked cousin making our heroine's life hell and a gossip newspaper publishing scurrilous tidbits for the ton to titter about.
What more could you want in a lighthearted romance.
Well written with our hero coming to understand what real love looks like. When her grandfather, the Duke of Ferr-Colby and the Earl of Eanruig dies, Lady Theodora Worth inherits the Earldom of Eanruig, unusual but true and due to Scottish inheritance laws. When her nefarious cousin, the new Duke of Ferr-Colby, challenges her right of succession she looks for an answer. Maybe a husband (in name only) would be the answer?
Lord William Cavensham doesn't want a wife but he does agree for his aunt's sake, who's presenting Thea, to help Thea meet suitable candidates.
The strong attraction he feels towards her is surely misplaced as William has stopped believing in love due to his being jilted when he was young.
A lively and intelligent read, a delightful heroine. A love story with intrigue and heart!

the cavensham series continues with rogue most wanted, and will cavensham, the eternally jilted is up to find his true love. he meets theodora worth, the current countess of eanruig, who's title is under question as her third cousin, the duke of ferr-colby is out to subsume it under his titles by claiming the charter was mistaken in allowing female heirs. to succeed in the suit, will's great aunt stella, thea's neighbor, suggests that she marry. and offers will up as her perfect match.

neither will or thea is interested in marriage, but the more time they spend together the more they regret their initial anti-marriage position.

the thing is, there is so much meddling here, the cavenshams are full of opinions. and while that kind of family closeness can be charming, it's literally my worst nightmare and every time i read books with this kind of nosy, opinionated family stuff i want to murder someone on the main character's behalf. will has plenty of people i'd be willing to eliminate for him. in part because i think, especially in this story, that the meddling made things more difficult so it was even less enjoyable than usual.

when will and thea finally get things right, it's very sweet and satisfying. i just wish i'd been saved the interfering relations.

Review originally published in my blog Romancing Romances.

When you choose a book by Janna MacGregor, you’re choosing well.

Rogue Most Wanted is funny, and romantic, and makes you feels good in all the right places.

I loved the characters, and identified very easily with them. Will had been hurt before, and Thea is willing to do almost anything to save and help those that depend on her – even if it means she’ll be unhappy.

They start as friends and end up in a fake engagement at the end to heat things up.

There’s no insta-love in this book. Will and Thea get to know each other, and fall in love slowly, and completely. I love their relationship, and how they become friends and then lovers.

The secondary characters are great! Will’s great-aunt, Stella, is the mastermind behind Will and Thea’s relationship, with the help of her best friend. These two older ladies provide a fun element to the book, with their conversations and tricks to help the lovebirds understand they belong together.

And it’s always a pleasure to re-visit characters we met in previous books. The Cavensham’s are a great family, they stick together, are very loyal, very friendly, and they not afraid to tell each other harsh truths when needed.

Theodora is alone in the world, and all she ever wanted was a family, friends, people she could rely on – and she found it with Will and his family. She fights for her title, her land, and her people, and the Cavensham’s are there to support her – by helping her enter London’s society. Thea has to prove she’s a countess, but due to being away from society – and everyone actually! – for almost all of her life, she doesn’t even know the basics of how to behave herself in society.

The book goes around her learning, and her connection with Will, and his family. As a reader, you feel so happy for Thea, she deserves to be happy, and have friends, and family. And Will, who was dumped when he believed to be in love, also deserves to have his life turned around. He evolves, and opens up, and finally learns to love again.

In short, you can’t go wrong with this book.

A strong willed yet sweet heroine, a serious, emotionally battered gentleman with a soft side and a marriage of convenience trope. There was nothing that could stop me from loving this new addition in the series.

The author does an excellent job setting up the premise of Thea’s dilemma. After her grandfather’s death, she has felt adrift and lonely. She is a strong woman battling with a serious problem : a relative is challenging her claim to her family title and estate. Her solicitor has suggested a marriage of convenience with a man from a family with powerful political connections. The perfect candidate is Lord William Cavensham. But despite his family’s matchmaking efforts, Will doesn’t want marriage or love.

I absolutely loved the plot and the writing style. The heroine is a likeable character, she never lets people tell her how to live her life and will always fight for the welfare of her tenants. William was a bit stiff but such a sweetheart, caring and thoughtful. He is willing to help Thea, escort her to society events and introduce her to friends who could help her cause. Their friendship is comfortable and perfect. I liked the gradual way they fell in love, it was realistic.

This story had all the makings of an enjoyable read. It had some strong moments and overall it was an easy, heartwarming read.
