I had read and enjoyed the previous book in this series and I’m always here for a fake relationship, so I was eager to get to this one.

I liked Thea and Will well enough. She’s strong and steadfast and he’s loyal and maybe a little bitter. Together they have an easy friendship and loving relationship. There’s a big group of characters here and they’re all pretty rad. I could easily read books about any of them.

Plot wise, it was sort of meh. It felt disjointed and I never felt captivated by or invested in the story. I didn’t quite see the leap from acquaintance to lover and even though we were rushing towards an important event, the urgency wasn’t there.

Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. I did like them and I wanted to see their HEA. I may read other books in this series, but it would depend on who it was.

Janna MacGregor's "Rogue Most Wanted" was my favorite book of the Cavensham Heiresses series so far. I really liked the hero, Will, when he was featured in the earlier books, so it was great to get to know him better here. He was even more likeable the more I got to know him. He was such a kind, generous, loving person who deserved to find happiness, and Thea, the heroine, seemed like a great match for him.

As for Thea, she was endearingly awkward in her social skills when dealing with other members of the ton, but so confident and independent when it came to dealing with her estate and other matters. She really came into her own thanks to the love and care shown to her by the Cavensham family. Also, I found it very easy to empathize with what she went through during her grandfather's illness because Alzheimer's runs in my family, so I have gone through similar things with my grandmother and other relatives. Her feelings of guilt and remorse after her grandfather's death seemed completely realistic and understandable to me, and I could see why they had such a profound impact on the decisions she made regarding her future plans.

As always, it was great to catch up with the couples and secondary characters featured in previous books in the series. They provided a lot of useful guidance and advice to Thea and Will along the way, along with some well-meaning meddling. I look forward to seeing what happens to all of them in the next book!

"Rogue Most Wanted" was a good story with great character development. You fall in love with the innocence of Thea, and her great desire and moral obligation that she feels towards her grandfather's estate and the tenants that reside on that land. Will arrives as a man of strength as well, but with a heart that has been broken and not completely healed. They are brought together by Will's aunt who wants only to see the happiness of these two young people whom she believes belong together. Will becomes Thea's friend and takes an interest in helping her claim her rightful title to her grandfather's estate. Working together they find their attraction to each other overwhelming and so their relationship develops into one of love...but not without its obstacles. This is a good regency romance...highly enjoyable! (I was given a copy of the book from NetGalley for my honest review.)

This book started out great. It had a heroine who was independent for her time and her family was a delight. I got a little bored with the second half as there seemed to be no real drama other than the issues concerning the title and the land. The two main characters were interesting and their relationship was nice to read about and that was one of my favorite parts of this book. Overall not a bad read, just a little slower than I was hoping.

I was looking forward to reading Rogue Most Wanted because I’ve enjoyed all of the previous books in Janna MacGregor’s Cavensham Heiresses series.

Lady Thea is a countess in her own right. This is a rarity, but not unheard of.
After her grandfather’s death, the distant cousin who has inherited her grandfather’s ducal title tries to claim Thea’s earldom for himself. Thea needs to find the charter that details the terms of the earldom. If she doesn’t, she’ll lose everything.

Readers of the other books in this series will remember Will as the quieter brother in the Cavensham family. His aunt introduces him to Thea, and he agrees to help her navigate London as she prepares to defend her right to the title.

They both like each other, but they’re reluctant to admit it. This became a little annoying because there didn’t’ seem to be any reason for them not to pursue a relationship.

This book didn’t sit very well with me, and I think most of the problem had to do with the excerpts from the gossip paper that introduced each chapter. Unfortunately, any writer who wants to include gossip will inevitably be compared to Julia Quinn’s Lady Whistledown. The excerpts in this book became increasingly malicious for no reason whatsoever. What could they possibly have against Thea? And for that matter, who was leaking the information from inside the Cavensham home?

The big mystery was also a little too obvious, and I have no idea why Thea wouldn’t have searched for the charter in this location.

It pains me not to be able to recommend this book, but there were too many issues for me. I’m hoping her next book is back to its usual fun.

This one had a very enjoyable plot and conflict. It was suspenseful and entertaining and I liked the two main characters, and the supporting characters from the Cavensham family. The passion was good, the romance developed well and wasn’t rushed, and the conclusion was perfect, though I would have loved to see a final confrontation between them and her cousin, the new duke. She was such a strong, modern character. She spoke her mind, wasn’t afraid of hard work, and wasn’t afraid to sacrifice for her responsibilities (though I am glad that in the end she didn’t have to). Will was a good match for her and the past jilting he faced added to the suspense and tension between him and Thea. Great and entertaining story all around and I continue to enjoy this series and loved seeing previous couples come back in and play roles.

Delightful and touching Regency romance that had me on an emotional rollercoaster -- I laughed, I cried, I sighed, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The engaging characters and beautifully written story kept me totally immersed in all that was happening and I just couldn't put the book down and really didn't want it to end. I loved the attraction, undeniable chemistry and heartwarming romance between Lady Theodora Worth and Lord William Cavensham.

Even though this is the fifth book in the Cavensham Heiresses series, it can be read as a standalone and is a must-read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted Regency romance. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. I liked it so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.

This is my fair and honest review for this ARC. What a fantastic tale. How do you master society when you have never left the farm? Young woman who is a peer who has never left her grandfather's properties because she has to protect him from his failing health must go to London and fight for her home. Where to begin? Who to trust when you have no friends or family? Find the other half of your soul. Well written story!

3.5 stars Very good Regency romance. The characters are sweet. Thea is struggling to maintain her estate but to do that she needs to marry. Unfortunately, she’s not like other young ladies as she has socialized very little and wasn’t taught what a ‘proper’ young lady should know. Will was rejected years before and closed his heart to love. As William and Thea become friends things change. Neither really want to marry. I’ve enjoyed other books in this series so I was a bit surprised that this book seemed to drag at times. I received a complementary copy of this book via Net Galley and chose to write a review.

This is a lovely story of Thea who had been raised alone by her Grandfather away from society. In the last years she has taken over the running of the estate due to the Earl’s ill health. The new Duke is now after her home. She takes help from her neighbour Great Aunt Stella to the Cavensham family. Thea is drawn into high society with the help of the Cavensham family. She must fit a lifetime of social manners into a few short months in order not to embarrass her new best friend Will Cavensham. Can their pretend engagement become something so much more. You will be fascinated by how Whiskey becomes so important in this relationship. I would certainly recommend more stories by the fascinating Cavensham family.

Lady Thea has spent the last 7 years taking care of her ailing grandfather until his passing. Now her claim to his Scottish title is being challenged by her cousin, who already inherited the English title. Thea needs to find the original charter, but had no idea where to look as her grandfather had started hiding papers different places and not telling Thea where he put them. When Thea gets charged to go before a peerage review group, she knows that this is totally out of her realm of knowledge so she goes to see her grandfather's friend at the neighboring estate, Lady Stella. Lady Stella decides that her nephew, Will, is the perfect one to call in to help with this matter and perhaps he and Thea will hit it off and become a couple and find the HEA they both richly deserve.

This book had me laughing, cursing, burying my face and cheering. At one point, I was so involved that I yelled out loud at Thea and my family looked at me like I was crazy, but I was just deeply invested in the story and I think that is the best kind of book of all.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A really nice story with nice characters. Theodora Worth is set to inherit a Scottish title. She is devoted to her estate, Ladykyrk, and the people that live and work there. When an English duke challenges her right of inheritance one suggestion was for her to marry. Lord William Cavensham doesn't want to marry, but he agrees to help her as a friend. Thus begins a relationship that everyone wants except the two people involved -- or maybe the two are too quick to decide.

Will and Thea are both great people, even though it takes them a while to realize it. I loved his whole family, such a loving bunch. The writing was a little choppy at times, but it was a lovely story.

This was a sweet historical with a strong heroine and bit of a twist.
With Rogue Most Wanted, Ms MacGregor brings us back to the Cavensham family, this time with Will as the hero. He is paired with a unique and strong heroine, Thea. While I'm not sure the title fits because Will is anything but a Rogue, this was an entertaining and enjoyable read.

I found myself genuinely liking both Thea and Will. I enjoyed her strength of character and the quirks that came from being isolated from society while she cared for her grandfather. Her willingness to face a challenge was also appealing.

As much as I liked Will, he was also the character that semi held this book back for me. In meeting him in previous books, he was a strong character. I would have expected him to be on the alpha side, but he almost seemed a little too courteous and a little too willing to take a back seat.

Will and Thea's story had several unique twists that played to the social and political climate of the time. There was one particular secondary character that I would have liked to have known more about. His motivations, etc because it would have solidified Thea's back story a little more.
Overall, this was a fun book in an entertaining series.

The Rogue Most Wanted by Janna MacGregor is a fascinating tale of a young son of an English Duke and a young Scottish Lady who has been taking care of her grandfather and his estate before and after his death. The story opens with Lord William Cavensham, the second child and son of the Duke and Duchess of Langham going to the Earl of Calderton to ask for the hand of his daughter in marriage. That does not go well. The author then introduces Lady Theodora Worth, the new Countess of Eanruig, not accepting the offer of marriage to the new Duke of Ferr-Colby. Theodora's grandfather was the Duke of Ferr-Colby and the Earl of Eanruig but Theodora cannot become the Duchess of Ferr-Colby so her distant cousin has inherited it and now want to marry Theodora to join the two properties once again. but Theodora cannot stand the new Duke. The story continues as Theodora goes to London to find a husband because the new Duke is challenging her right to be the Countess of Eanruig. Theodora has no proper training as to how to act like a Lady. And so the adventure begins with Theodora going for help, going to London to plead her case, trying to find a husband and searching for the missing charter that assures her right to be the Countess of Eanruig. The lively adventure puts William and Theodora together, with William vowing to help Theodora, falling in love with Theodora and the local gossip rag commenting on what's going on at the end of each chapter. The story is very interesting and action packed and has a HEA ending. I wasn't crazy about the gossip quips but they don't detract from the storyline.

Rogue Most Wanted is the fifth book in the Cavensham Heiresses series but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read all the books in this series but I have read a few books by this author and I have loved every one of them. This one was amazing! I loved the characters and the plot, which was very interesting regarding historical Scottish titles going through the female line. Lady Theodora’s devotion to her Grandfather was so touching and demonstrated how as we age the role of care changes. The reader could feel the love that Thea and her Grandfather had for each other. Thea’s role changed as her Grandfather aged and she became the caregiver. The story really touched on the feelings that families have when a loved one develops dementia. Lord William such a sweet hero and so dedicated to his aunt and family. He had a large and loving family who welcomed Thea into their home and hearts. Reading this book was like being on an emotional rollercoaster; one minute I was laughing at Lady Stella and Lady Edith antics and the next I was crying. This was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it. I have already bought the earlier books in series and can’t wait to read them. I’m sure they will be just as great!

Lady Theodora Worth was raised by her adoring grandfather after her parents died. Her grandfather held a mixed title - English Duke and Scottish Earl. Now, Thea has inherited the remote Scottish estate she was raised on. Her grandfather's greedy heir is challenging her claim to the title and the Ladykyrk estate. Unfortunately, in his last years, Thea's grandfather suffered from dementia and hid the charter that proved the title and estate were hers.

Thea asks her elderly neighbor for help. Lady Stella has the perfect answer for Thea. If Thea is married, the courts will most likely see things her way. And, Lady Stella's great-nephew can help Thea.

Will Cavensham is the second son of a powerful Duke. He has buried himself in helping improve his family's holdings since he was jilted as a lad. His favorite great-aunt is determined to push Lady Thea at him. As Will starts to help Thea, he starts to realize that she may be the one person he had been looking for.

I absolutely loved this book. But, it was WAY too long. After a while, I started "fast forwarding" and skimming. But, I still enjoyed reading the book. The characters were amazing. I loved Thea. She was an independent heroine that had maintained her grandfather's estate while taking care of him. I just loved Will. He was devoted to his family and waiting for the perfect woman.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you!

A magical story which stole my heart and brought out all the emotions to make this one of the best stories I have read this year! Janna MacGregor is a true messenger pf the perfect historical romance, with her amazing prose and characters that grab you and don't let go.
Lord Will Caversham who had been wounded in love when young, does not even look for a potential wife, but devotes his time to his family. Oh yes the delightful Cavenshams!
Lady Theodora Worth has spent years caring for her grandfather and managing his estate. When he passes on, she knows the estate and earldom should come to her, but she is being challenged for the title and the land!
The two come together when Thea's neighbor, Will's Aunt Stella puts the idea for Will to marry Thea. You can just imagine how that went over!
A story of two wonderful people who needed to find love and and believe themselves worthy of each other and a life together. Romantic, emotional and a love that will grow brings this story to a sigh worthy conclusion! Loved it..

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy for an honest review. Wow, I really loved this book....especially "You can't taste whiskey with any other woman but me" oh my hot, hot hot. Will was broken hearted at age 19 by a woman he wanted to marry, she choose someone with a higher title than second son Will. Theodora wants to keep the land she just inherited and needs a man in name only. In comes an elderly neighbor who plays matchmaker. Loved these characters, loved this story. Great read!

I am a big fan of Janna's writing and the series The Cavensham Heiresses has wonderful characters and plots.

In this one we find two people who think themselves incapable to fall in love.
William has suffered a disappointment in the past, and Thea is more concerned with practical matters of life, such as how she can maintain the land and help her tenants.

But as it always takes a fairy godmother, this time it's Aunt Stella.

Of the various situations in which the couple meet until they can finally admit that they are hopelessly in love with each other, I just don't agree that William has the title of "rogue".
There are several laughable scenes.
