This was an emotional one for me. I enjoyed it. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

Equal parts sexy and sweet, although most of the storyline was a mystery that fell sort of flat. A lot of characters were introduced, which makes me unsure if it was supposed to be part of a series or not.

I originally read this book because the cover was just so hot, I didnt even read the blurb or see who the author was. That just shows you that covers really make a difference. But then I started reading more and more and WOW. I LOVED IT. Bodyguard romances are the best! And it was a standalone so I wasnt confused like I thought I would be. I loved Aubrey and Fergus. Great read.

Unfortunately this one just did not work for me. The characters were incredibly one dimensional, and the writing just wasn't my style. So sad! I'd like to try more by this author because

DNF @ 85%

The start was okay until I read the twitching of her lonely p*ssy as he speak her name on their first meet- BLERGH!!!!

I felt disconnected while reading this. It took me days and I still haven't reached the middle. So, I ended up skimming a good part of this. The suspect behind everything wasn't even a shocker. It was quite obvious. I actually have 2 suspects... one that is given ( which is the real villain) and one is the more subtle possible villain. Sad to say, I didn't enjoy this one. That's me... who knows? It might work out for you.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I was a bit confused with this one as I wasn't really able to connect to the characters because I didn't know this was part of a series.

So this was a DNF for me for that reason, and it didn't really captivate me enough to really want to read more.

Fergus comes from a big family and after leaving the military he and his cousin decide to start a security business. The first client wants them to protect and find the person sending threating mail and doing harm to people around the star. The star is a former teen pop star named Aubrey Summers. She has fired everyone hired to protect her and though at first Fergus does not want to take the job, he agrees. The first meeting between the two of them set the tone for the rest of the story and you are wondering how or when will either one will let their guard down at all. Each one has their one issues and the author does a good job of weaving a storyline of mystery of how the person could be threatening her and the two of deciding if the can and should trust someone in their life. A wonderful story with really good characters and plenty of good writing to keep the story moving along.

Though I haven't read many of the other books in this series, I definitely enjoyed July Flames by Mari Carr and hope to catch up on the rest of the series soon. Well written and extremely well plotted, July Flames is a delight!

This book was provided by the author through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Mari Carr and Netgalley!

July Flames is the seventh book in the Wilder Irish series and tells the story of Aubrey and Fergus. Although July Flames is the seventh book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

July Flames is the second book I’ve read by Mari Carr and is definitely my favourite one so far. I really loved the story and the characters and it was nice to see some characters from book 6, June Kisses.

Aubrey and Fergus are so cute. In the beginning Aubrey looks like a diva and is always a bit mean towards Fergus, but Fergus kept on being kind and kept on talking to Aubrey. I think that was such a beautiful thing to do, he’s one of my favourite book boyfriends! Aubrey changed a lot towards the end of the book and I loved how strong and confident she became.

I really loved July Flames and I cannot wait to read the other books in the Wilder Irish series. Mari Carr is an amazing author and I’ll probably love her other books too!

July Flames is the latest addition to the Wilder Irish Series. It centers around one of my favorite characters Fergus who after leaving the military opens a security firm. His first job is to protect singer Aubrey Summers and figure out who is stalking her. Fergus teaches Aubrey to trust again and they fall madly in love but will they survive to enjoy their potential future together? You'll have to read to find out! Mari Carr does an excellent job of pacing the romantic suspense and gives enough back story for someone new to the series too. You'll see glimpses throughout the book of the various Collins family members, which I loved! A hot novel worth reading!

The first thing that caught my eye was the cover. July Flames is the seventh book in the Wilder Irish series, which I didn't realize it was a part of a series... until very late :C
It can be read as a stand alone...
I took me wayyyy too long to read... the beginning was slow.. and kinda hard to read.

July Flames is a book I went to knowing next to nothing about. I had no idea this was a part of a companion novel series and I liked that. The main reason for that is because I had no real expectation on what to expect. Aubrey is a pop star who has also grown up on tv (think of Hannah Montana) and now is touring on her own in her own without that persona. While this all seems great a lot of people can't seem to let go of her past, and this has allowed for some super stalker to somehow get closer to her and now cause harm to those around her. This is where Ex-Army man now bodyguard firm owning Ferguson comes into play. Ferguson is a force to be reckoned with and puts pop star Aubrey in her place when it comes to how she treats those around her.
As these two are constantly together they start to learn about each other and why they both act the way they do. Aubrey's constant anger and lack of trust in people is completely understandable and one any sane person would do when they have been treated like she has by her mom. Ferguson helps her start to see that not everyone is like that though and that there are good people in the world who love her for who she is and not how much money or fame she can offer them.

I did like these two as a couple. Did things go from 0 to 100 really quickly yes, but that was to be expected in this type of novel.
I'm interested to see who the series follows next as I did really like Ferguson's family and how they all interacted with one another.

A very entertaining adventure filled with emotional twists and turns, heart pounding action and undeniable forbidden passion... was a thrilling read from beginning to end. The charters are all very interesting, the setting engaging and really enjoyed this journey.

This was fun.

Here we have Fergus and Aubrey, she’s a megastar of music and acting, and he’s the guy hired to protect her from a stalker while on tour.

As the story advances we really get to understand while Aubrey is such an angry and distrusting of everyone around her. I really see why she is the way she is and OMG, what a mother. Grrrr

As for Fergus, he was nice and I loved how he showed her how a real family looks like and how they treat each other. She really needed some people on her side.

All in all, it was a fun read. Personally, I found them falling for each other a little fast, but wasn’t all that bad and the story is short and to the point, so no issues there.

*Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
