Confession....I watch a lot of crime shows on tv. When I’m not reading, that is my go to time killer. I had heard of Israel Keyes, but not a lot, and usually just the same thing over and over. American Predator did an excellent job of filling in all the blanks. How could someone’s evilness reach so many different places? The amount of planning that this monster put into his crimes boggles the mind. Excellent research by Maureen Callahan!

I hesitate to say that I loved this book, due to the subject matter, but it was RIVETING. Callahan’s research is impeccable, her treatment of the victims and their stories is empathetic, and her writing style is fantastic. This is the rare nonfiction book that reads like a fiction novel- you won’t be able to put it down.
