A book of love sorrow parting due to death.A conversation between two lovers one alive one death.A poetic back and forth so moving so emotional.#netgalley#amazonuk
I'm not certain what this story was trying to be. It was overall just odd. I'm not sure I can even describe it.
A story of a man and woman -- told after the death of the woman, in chapters addressed to each other. An interesting premise. Recommended.
Love in waiting and limbo is captivating topic for this read. The heart baring truths between the couple are filled with truth and fury. Living with the unspoken and the consequences keeps you reading into the book. I enjoyed the chapter splits into woman talking, man talking. Interesting start-- after her death. Loved that tidbit!!!
These two are so so different , hard to believe almost to the point in loving each other.
This book goes back and forth between two people in love; one dead and the other alive, and they are expressing how they truly love one another. The book is pretty depressing, but overall I enjoyed it.
This book is poetic and beautiful. Every sentence is written perfectly.
It’s hard to read books like this because there aren’t any filler words or sentences.
Thanks to AmazonCrossing for the ARC!
I apologize for taking so long to give a feedback. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I would finish this book. It's way more religious than I was expecting. One character died, the other was left behind. The story is told from their points of view, which was kinda interesting, but again, not what I was expecting.
A stunning and original novel about the concept of love, the nature of grief ('I have to figure out how the sun can be shining down so yellowly brazen on a world that no longer has you in it'), and the regrets we all live with:
'Too late. Those are the saddest words in any language'.
Written as a stream of consciousness from the point of view of the deceased, and the person left behind, Still I Miss You was thought provoking and stunningly beautiful. It reveals how love comes in many forms and that love refuses to be simplified into black and white, but rather covers every hue of colour. Still I Miss You is a haunting and compelling read which will remain in your heart and mind long after the last page has been read. How do you define a love that endured, but that was never consummated? Philosophy, politics,, feminism, faith and athiesm are all contained in the pages of this book which will move and change you as you consider your own life and consider your own demise and what you will leave behind in the hearts of those who have loved you. Ultimately Still I Miss You teaches us that:
'Love isn't something you make. Love crashes down on us fully formed; we don't control it'.
Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
Losing your partner is one of everyone's biggest fears in life, right? this book definitely touches down on that. It was a little more religious than i'd normally like.. but it was an easy book to follow and read.
Way more religious than I was expecting; Pedrosa's novel though it deals with death and longing, with the people who stay behind and the memories left behind by the dead, themes that are definitely my cup of tea, unfortunately fell flat.
