This was a solid thriller! I didn't guess any of the big twists, so I consider that a win! My only complaint is the story was a bit all over the place at parts.
Four women confess to a murder, but the reader still doesn't know what is really going on, until the very end, with twists galore along the way. You are kept guessing, and glued to the book, just to see where it all ends up! Book is recommended for anyone who loves a good read that keeps you entertained until the last page.
Read & Reviewed a long time ago. Never got updated on NetGalley
I really enjoyed this book. The way it was written was different from other books that I have read by this author or any other author. I was not able to figure things out until the author was ready to reveal it. Very entertaining read that will keep you guessing and turning the pages to see what happens next.
I didn't hate this book but also didn't love it. I found it to be a bit repetitive at times. I think my other problem with this story was that I didn't really like any of the characters. I wasn't really rooting for any of them. I also hated how they talked when they were being interviewed by the detective. I know this is a fake story but I find it hard to believe all of them would talk to him in such a carefree way. It bothered me. Overall this book was just okay for me. I'm not sure I'd read from this author again.
Really enjoyed this book, interesting from start to finish with some great twists, in the end I think he got what he deserves!
A suspenseful novel, Pretty Guilty Women is about 4 women who admit to committing the same crime. Why?
Why would four different women confess to killing a man found dead at a rehearsal dinner? A great story with well-crafted characters that keep you guessing until the very end.
Love Gina Lamanna and I totally devoured this book. Fast paced and unputdownable. Loved the twists and turns. Great Beach read.
Unable to finish. I couldn't get into the book and decided to put it down for the time being. I may come back to it later when I don't have other books I'm more excited about reading on my shelf.
A wedding in a luxurious resort and spa is rocked by a murder. What's more shocking is that four different women are confessing to the crime. Not as a group, but all claimed to jave actee on their own. So, who really is telling the truth and why are they confessing to such act? More so, who is the victim?
Pretty Guilty Women sure make for an interesting read. The multiple POVs plus the interviews and police transcripts helped to get to know the characters better, all flaws and baggages. The victim's identity wasn't revealed until the end so it will surely keep you guessing. Fast-paced and satisfying read, overall.
I feel like I've read this book many times, it was a lot like Lianne Moriarty or other authors like her. Not horrible but not very unique.
Pretty Guilty Women was a quick and light read with a murder in its storyline. Four high school sort-of-out-of-touch women gather together to celebrate a wedding and someone is found dead on the resort. Each women alibis for another women and the case goes in circles. This book is predictable and an ideal light read.
It was a funny mystery with murder and fallen friendships.. It was good but not something that will keep your attention for long..
I just finished and I am already ready for a sequel. Can there be more to this story??
The book took turns through the perspective of a few old college friends who reunited at a wedding. They fell into quick friendships with a few new women, and a wild story unfolds.
I really enjoyed this book!
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
This one fell a little flat for me. I had a hard time connecting with/caring about any of the characters, as they all seemed to be slight variations of the same person. I also felt there were too many similarities to Big Little Lies, which made it feel unoriginal (if I hadn't read BLL already, I may have enjoyed this one a little more). Overall, it held my attention, but never really had that "wow" moment I kept wanting for.
So much fun!! A beautifully written mystery. A perfect escape in these difficult times! I will be reading more by this author!
This was so fun! There's a wedding, a murder and a whole lot of confessions! Four female friends reconnect at a wedding, hoping to have a great weekend. Then there's a pesky little murder, to which they all confess. Full of secrets and twists, I couldn't put it down until the final page! Thank you so much!
This is a bit of a hit and miss read. The writing wasn't great and the story was pretty predictable but for some reason you can't put it down. I think a first time thriller reader would enjoy this to help them learn the pace.
A fun domestic thriller/mystery. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks for the advanced copy of this book.
This was a fun and easy read and I really enjoyed it.
There are grudges, rivalries, challenges and friendship that make for a great plot to murder.
Will read more by this author in the future.
This book will draw you in, the story is interesting and the characters are complicated. There are four unique women dealing with a myriad of their own personal problems, and then the murder happens. I was caught up in the tension and suspense. Unfortunately, I couldn’t connect with any of the characters as they were too wrapped up in themselves, even when they could have leaned on each other.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
