If you like Regency England stories... with characters of honor and a goodly amount of love.. then I expect you will also enjoy your time within this story. Happy Reading !

I couldn’t put this book down! This book has it all. Adventure, action, suspense, romance, brooding hero, and plucky heroine. I have not read any prior books in the Bow Street Runners series, but that didn’t take away from absolutely loving this book and Captain Samuel Thatcher.

This is the best Michelle Griep book I’ve read so far. The writing is top notch. The historical details are spot on and the characters she created with Samuel and Abby will win your heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and Barbour Publishing for the ARC

The Noble Guardian by Michelle Griep
This author is one of the best. If you like historical fiction, you will treasure The Bow Street Runners series. Michelle Griep’s has the unique talent of transferring her extensive research and creating a descriptive and meaningful story. All her characters pop off the pages and come alive in my mind while I read her stories or better yet, I’m drawn into the story and become a part of it. I’m always a little sad when I turn to the last pages of her books. Ms. Griep always has a golden nugget of truth that sticks with me. In this book it was this quote: “Someone once told me that life is more than good ideas. It is the risks that return greater results. I hope, sir, that one day you too will learn to risk all for love, for that is what our Lord did for us?”
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of the novel. I enjoyed this historical fiction set in Regency era England. This story was a slow build of clean romance through out an adventure filled carriage journey. I was cheering for Abby and Samuel the whole time! I read this without any trouble of keeping up with characters or plot despite not having read any of the previous books. I will say I kept hoping that sir Jonathan was connected to the highway man but alas that didn't happen. Great read that kept me up late into the night to finish!

Such a delightful tale, featuring one of my favourite characters of the series--Thatcher! The Noble Guardian has all the high and low points that will make a reader sing, and is straight up--a robust, well-paced, heart-warming & colourful historical read.

This third book from Michelle Griep on the Bow Street Runners was a great conclusion to a fast-paced romantic series. Abigail and Samuel must face many challenges in The Noble Guardian. Abigail is a cinderella-type character, scorned and taken advantage of by her family. She is sent to her fiancé with only a maid to accompany her and experiences a terrifying journey as they are attacked by highwaymen. Samuel is a battle-weary hero who travels the roads as a Bow-Street Runner. He is targeted by a notorious highwayman and when Samuel agrees to help Abigail get to her fiancé, his struggles become her own. Add to the mix a little baby they agree to deliver to an aunt along the way and the stage is set.

I enjoyed seeing returning characters in this series. And the tension between Samuel and Abigail led to interesting dialogue. I'm glad that Samuel and Abigail didn't let the opinions of others influence what they did with their lives. The ending was slightly abrupt but it made sense. I just didn't see it coming - maybe that is the mark of great surprise ending! Thank you Michelle for another great book in the series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Even if I'm not a fan of Christian books I found this one entertaining and engaging.
I appreciated the cast of characters, the plot and the well researched historical setting.
An interesting read, recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Griep is a good writer. She knows her stuff. She keeps her books very historically accurate. I do appreciate this as things are very much true to the time and gives you a very good feel of reality. It would make a much better movie in my opinion. It was harder for me to get into this book because the characters felt detached from each other, they hardly spoke and when they did it was not friendly until almost the end of the book. I did feel their growing attraction but it was almost kept from us too. It is a style of writing that I just have a hard time with. This was a Christian book that is not heavy on the preaching but it is in their as these two learn to trust God. Overall it was a good read with a bit too much drama at the end but with good action throughout.

Life couldn’t be better for Abigail Gilbert—but it’s been a long time in coming. Having lived with a family who hated her, it’s finally her time for love. Abby sets off on a journey across England to marry one of the most prestigious gentlemen in the land—until highwaymen upset her plans and threaten her life.

Horse patrol captain Samuel Thatcher arrives just in time to save Abby. But she’s simply another victim in a job he’s come to despise. Tired of the dark side of humanity, he intends to buy land and retire.

Abby pleads with him to escort her for the rest of her journey. He refuses—until she offers him something he desperately needs to achieve his goal. . .money. Delivering her safely will give him more than enough to buy property.

So begins an impossible trek for the cynical lawman and the proper lady. Each will be indelibly changed by the time they reach her betrothed, if they don’t kill one another first—or fall in love.

This is a good story with lots of action. Abby is on her way to get married to Sir Jonathan. Her father and step mother want to get rid of her so they sent her away. Alone without protection. Along the way she is deserted by her maid, waylaid by highway men, and given the responsibility of delivering a baby to her aunt. She is rescued by Samuel Thatcher. With a little persuasion he hires on as guardian for Abby. Their journey is very interesting. This isn't a high suspense book. But has lots of adventure. I recommend this book.

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Two thumbs up for a wonderfully written Christian Romance novel by Michelle Griep. Major and minor characters come to life and hook the reader into a wonderful adventurous love story. The main characters, Captain Samuel Thatcher and Abigail Gilbert, wrestle with their building attraction towards each other, keeping Christ at the center of their relationship with each other and with others. The darling babe, Emma, is a wonderful addition to the excitement of their love for her, each other, and the near death adventures they must face. While this is an adult book, it would fit perfectly into a Christian High School for students looking for quality writing romance that is appropriate for their age.

The must-read conclusion to Michelle Griep’s Bow Street Runners Trilogy: Life couldn’t be better for Abigail Gilbert—but it’s been a long time in coming. I cannot say enough good things about this book! Captain Samuel Thatcher is the best hero!
The writing is excellent. The adventure is well paced with lots of action and just enough quiet moments for this reader to catch her breath. We get to know the characters strengths and weaknesses during the action and quiet times.
I loved how the romance was slow building, yet all-encompassing at the same time.

First I want to say thank you to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with an ARC of this amazing historical novel.
The plot was extremely well written and keeping me in twists and interested until the very end. The whole story was literally one long ride full of hurdles, accompanied by hunt for criminals and keeping the precious parcel safe.

One sassy woman, abandoned child on its way to relatives and their guardian travelling halfway through England to fulfill held promises. The path was stony while fighting highway men, illness and broken carriage but bringing on unexpected development of new and strongly growing feelings.

The heroine charmed her way into everyone's heart due to her strong personality. The guardian and his noble ways of keeping both safe at all costs while fighting his own demons and enemies.

What would you want more? There is nothing to wish more for. Although in the end I was a little bit sad to part with them because let's be honest I enjoyed the journey and cheered them on the whole time.

The Noble Guardian is the 3rd book in Michelle Griep's Bow Street Runners series. I have previously read the second book in the series, but not the first one. This book can easily be read as a stand alone novel. As fans have come to expect from Michelle Griep, this historical novel is filled with action, adventure, danger, and romance. I absolutely love the cover of The Noble Guardian...such a handsome hero! Readers will be in for a treat with this delightful novel! Michelle Griep does not disappoint.

The Noble Guardian is the third and last book to The Bow Street Runner Series. I think Michele saved the best for last. If you have not read the first two books to this series, do yourself a favor and read them first. Although, The Nobel Guardian reads fine as a stand alone book. I loved each of Michele's Runner characters. But I am so glad to be able to read Samuel Captain Thatcher's story. I loved the little glimpses we got of him in the prior novels. Our main character along with the Captain is Abigail Gilbert. She is a Cinderella type, who is headed across England to finally meet and marry her Prince Charming. Her family could not be bothered to supply her with a proper escort and that is where she meets Captain Thatcher. I loved this story and would highly recommend it. 4.5 ⭐️ s
This is my 5th book by this author and it was my favorite! *Sigh* I loved the main characters. And can we talk about the cover? L💕ve it!

I was hooked right away and smiled constantly watching the interaction between these too. Lots of chemistry between them and of course the HEA that I have to have.

A great historical romance in my opinion with some angst and lots of adventure.

This was a NETGALLEY gift and all opinions are my own.

Samuel Thatcher, whom we met briefly in The Innkeeper’s Daughter is one of the main characters in this one, along with Abigail Gilbert is another one. Abigail is on her way to get married, though her father and stepmother only sent a maid and driver with her. Trouble finds them along the highway and Captain Thatcher happens upon them in time to save them. His plans to deliver them to an inn and be free of them changes when something unexpected is dropped in his lap. With Abigail needing a guard and a notorious highwayman still needing captured, Captain Thatcher is convinced to provide her needed guard. Page turning story with twists and turns throughout the adventure. Characters that can be related to, even the ones we don’t care for and a moving story keep the pages turning and the book hard to put down. Fitting conclusion to the Bow Street Runners series.
A complimentary copy was provided by Barbour Publishing via NetGalley. A review was not required and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is definitely Michelle Griep’s most exciting work to date! A true Regency road-trip adventure in the first 2/3 of the story, it’s also an emotional roller coaster in the last 1/3. Great care is given not to make our heroes too naive or too much a martyr, and the romantic relationship (for there are many different examples of love and relationships here) unfolds at just the right pace. I was absolutely riveted and read it in one sitting.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The Noble Guardian
By: Michelle Griep
What a fun adventure it was to read, The Noble Guardian. With themes of self-love, Gods love for us, and seeing past perceptions I not only enjoyed the read but was inspired. The characters were required to offer God control of their situations bringing thought to the struggles around letting God be God. There is fear in not knowing the future and what will happen. I really enjoyed this read and think if you enjoy Christian historical romance this will take you on a grand quest of love.
Here are some of my highlighted quotes from this book:
“Past hurts often lose their sting when shared with others.”
“Lord, I confess I am anxious and fretting and altogether not trusting in Your great providence. It is not You who are in my debt, but I in Yours… for everything You give. If this be putrid throat, then I will trust You for the best outcome, whatever that may be, for I can do no more. But even so, Lord, I pray You would grant healing for little Emma and for me.”

The Noble Guardian serves well as a standalone, it isn’t lacking, whether you’ve read the previous books in the trilogy or not.

First, I have to mention this stunning cover art. I’m not usually attracted to books with male leads on the cover (sorry, not sorry) but this particular one, along with the intriguing title, is definitely attention-grabbing.

Now, on to the hero. Oh. My. I adore Captain Samuel Thatcher. I love how the further I read the more I see behind his stony, brooding persona. The author takes her time to reveal his compassionate heart and soul, and I enjoy every moment of it. As of right now, he is my favorite male lead of 2019!

Abigail (Abby) Gilbert is more transparent and less complicated—yet it takes a little longer to connect to her. As she grows sturdier and more mature, my affections also grow. So much progression throughout the story. Her positive attitude and stubbornness are refreshing and entertaining.

As for the secondary characters, I’m impressed with how well developed they are, and how essential they are to the fullness of this story—the good guys and bad guys alike.

I adore the story arc, the spiritual vein, and the rich characters. I’ve enjoyed anything I’ve read by Michelle, Griep, for she is a very talented storyteller, but The Noble Guardian is most certainly my favorite!
