We Met in December tells the story of Jess and Alex.

Jess has just moved to London after breaking up with her boyfriend. She is looking to go after the career she has always wanted.

Alex was a successful lawyer and has now given that up to re-train as a nurse. He has made a promise to himself that, after a break up with his fiancée, he would focus on his career. He did not count on meeting Jess.

First, I am completely in love with this cover. It is so beautiful.

We Met in December is told from the point of view of both Alex and Jess. I liked this as it gave me a better overall idea of what each were thinking. It’s proof that misunderstandings and assumptions can be the cause of many problems between people that’s for sure.

These two were both wonderful, compelling characters and I came to care for them a lot. I found them to be characters I really liked and want to spend time with in real life.

I also loved the supporting characters, especially Nanna Beth, Rob and Becky. I want to know more about their lives.

I became so invested in this story. I want to be a roommate in this house. It’s like a rom-com movie and I could see it as such.

The description of the surroundings was also wonderful. I could really step into the setting of We Met in December. I lived in London and come from Bournemouth. Both are magical in their own way. Thanks to this, I could really picture/imagine where the characters were. As a completely irrelevant side note, it was lovely that my birth date was mentioned in this book too. Haha.

I love settling down with a Christmas book. This novel has been set over a year but has such a festive feel. I snuggled in with my duvet, a lit candle, a cup of tea and this book and didn’t come back to reality for ages, almost reading this in one sitting.

If you’re a fan of Richard Curtis, love stories and Christmas, this book is perfect. If you like funny, warm characters, We Met in December has them in spades.
I loved it. I really loved it.

This book was adorable, funny, engaging, sweet, all at different times. It was so easy to just get sucked into this book. I love the characters, and I found myself rooting for them throughout the book. Please, do yourself a favor and go out and read this book! I will find others by Rosie Curtis because I loved this so much.

This book was not for me. The mutual pining felt way too forced and everything was tell rather than show how the characters felt. The ending was really cute and so was the US cover, but I couldn't get over the fact that I just did not want to keep reading this book. I wouldn't even classify this as a romance because the relationship is not a central part of the story, it's really just a look at two character's lives over a year.

I thought this book was just okay. Now if we are honest, some of that definitely could be down to my mood and current reading slump. We Met In December follows Jess and Alex for a year. They both are starting over in London, new jobs, new aspirations and they are both renting a room in the same house. Neither of them are ready to start a relationship and are instead focusing on starting new chapters for themselves.
To me, this book felt a lot in spirit like a book I read last year, which may have coloured my opinion. I did find a couple of times where I thought, haven’t I already read this one? It is a common trope though so maybe this one just wasn’t for me. I did like the main characters a lot and thought the author did a great job switching back and forth between them so we got the whole story on both sides.

We Met In December is a story of meeting the right person at the wrong time, perfect for readers who love One Day and One Day In December

I do enjoy slow burn romances, but this one moved way to slow. I did want to know how it all played out so I read the last part of the book very quickly to see how it played out. Satisfying ending for rom-com fans!

Oh this was so lovely. Every character was interesting and unique and fun. I just adored this. I hope to find my Alex someday and make christmases magical. Jess was sweet and cute and I just really loved this. The author has a way of writing where you feel the moods of the characters and the setting and it was just lovely.

I felt this was perfectly nice story where nothing really happens.

I just never really felt anything when I read it.

This was a slow-moving romance about ta group of people living in a share house in the present time in Notting Hill.
Jess moves to Notting Hill to live in a share house owned by her friend Becky. Becky inherited the house and invited four friends to live in the house with her.
Jess has a job in publishing. She loves taking photographs of interesting views for Instagram so she can share her life with her grandmother Beth who also has an Instagram account.
Alex also lives in Becky’s house, he gave up being a lawyer and is training as a nurse, on his weekends off he takes Jess on walking tours around London.
This was a nice romance about friendships, relationships and families.

This book was just ok for me. I thought based on the title and cover that it would be a holiday book, but felt a little mislead. Overall I liked the story, but I felt that there was a lot going on but very little of it mattered. I would have liked to have seen the subplots be explored more or even the main characters have more of a connection.

This was the first winter read of the year and I really enjoyed it as it wasn’t fully set around the festive period but over months instead which was a great way to progress the story and not drag it out too long, I think thats why I read it so quick!

I enjoyed the different characters that live in the house: Jess and Alex who have both left well paid jobs in search of doing something different and following their dreams!, Becky who owns the house after it being left to her from her grandparents and is able to charge super cheap rent for the posh side of London (P.S I need to find a friend like Becky!), Emma who doesn’t pay attention of the no relationship rule between the other housemates and has a casual fling with Alex and then there’s the chef who name has suddenly gone out of my head!

I liked reading about the walks round London Alex and Jess did together, but I felt like I knew what was going to happen at the end of the story and then all of a sudden there was a leap forward a year so it was quite a lot of build up and then felt quite rushed.

However there was a best quote for me, where Jess is talking about her new boss. “He doesn’t Just have a plum in his mouth, I reckon he’s got several fruit trees”

I enjoyed the connection between Jess and Alex. I also enjoyed being transported to the setting of picturesque London. Overall the book was only okay. Some parts were slow moving and I struggled to maintain interest.

Sometimes I get confused or overwhelmed with dual POV, but this book was done so well. I was in love with the characters quickly and I felt like they were well developed.

A heart-warming easy read. I generally don't love dual-POV books, but this one really worked for me. Curtis did a terrific job writing a slow burn romance, letting the emotions simmer beneath the surface until the time was right. I look forward to reading her other books.

A cutesy holiday romance perfect for a snowy day spent by the fire it under the covers. I enjoyed the characters and plot.

This was a cute, cosy kind of romance that i really enjoyed reading. It was simply a feel-good kind of story.
Jess just moved to London to follow her dream and start a new career. Alex made a drastic change of career and change of life. Both of them end up renting rooms in the same house. And through the events of a whole year we go with them through different difficulties and witness the evolution of their relationship.
It was a nice quick read, with various interesting characters.

A cute story told in the viewpoint of the two main characters. I loved how they switched from points of view and how their story unfolded. It was a very sweet read
