The subject is quite interesting and and the book offers an original view to the artistic life. I'm an artist and I love cats, they are beautiful creatures, so I expected to see mostly beautiful cats in artworks. Instead, this is a simple collection of photos, letters, sketches from the collection of the Smithsonian Archives about artists and their cats. The photos are black and white, the very few in color are washed-out and bad quality (even the ones made in 80's and 90's). I did not see in all the book a beautiful artwork, most of them are embarrassingly ugly. The layout is simple and uninspiring. In my opinion is a waste of paper, may be good material for a blog.

This is a fun collection of photographs, sketches, paintings, short stories and more along with a bit about each artist and their cat(s). Cat and art lovers will enjoy this look at the life of the artist and their furry friend(s).

Thank you to Princeton Architectural Press and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
