Another amazing read by Elsa Winckler. I read this book in a day which is an amazing feat for me lately as I am taking a class. It is a book you have to read, I believe it is book three in the Cavallo brothers series.

AN IRRESISTIBLE TEMPTATION is a romance that will touch your heart, but it’s also a suspenseful mystery in many ways that will engage your puzzle solving abilities as well. While this one “could” be read on its own there are characters from the first book who show up often. In my opinion, you’ll have a more complete reading experience if you can read AN IMPOSSIBLE ATTRACTION also – but I certainly understand book budgets so you’ll still have a lovely suspense-filled romance if that’s not possible.

Dana and David certainly have a sizzling attraction between them, yet they also have other connections as well. The past will not be left behind in this story as Dana needs to prove that her father did not commit suicide while incarcerated, and David needs to help her for his own reasons. There were moments when I thought the mystery and suspense overshadowed the romance between Dana and David. That didn’t stop my enjoyment of their story, simply an observation.

I enjoyed AN IRRESISTIBLE TEMPTATION on several levels. The mystery of Dana’s father’s death held my attention throughout, and the romance simply grew stronger, deeper as they worked together to discover the truth. If you like your romance with a dash of mystery then you’d enjoy this one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Second in The Cavallo Brothers series, An Irresistible Temptation is a sexy contemporary romance set in the gloriously beautiful Cape Province in South Africa. For me, the setting was the winning feature of this story and author Elsa Winckler clearly knows that part of the world well as she brings it to life in this book.
Obviously this story isn’t just about the setting though. It’s a romance with a dash of crime thrown in for good measure. For me the story was far too focused on the sexual pull between David and Dana — think kissing and more from just about the first page — and not focused enough on the emotional pull. I also thought the crime aspects of the book were a little patchy and didn’t really flow well in the story.
Overall I liked the book but I didn’t love it.

This is a hot and sizzling romance cast against a puzzling mystery. The Cavallo Brothers’ sexiness shines through the pages as yet another brother of four succumbs to the lure of real, true love. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great addition to The Cavallo Brothers series, book two An Irresistible Temptation by Elsa Winckler. It took me awhile to get into this book but I enjoyed both the characters and the dialogue once I got into it. I will be looking forward to reading more in The Cavallo Brothers series and more by this author.

Dana’s best friend was Caitlin. David Cavallo was irritating her with his flirting. Tonight at his brother's wedding reception he was staring at her. Then she said she was going to the ladies room to hannah who was next to her and as she stood david was there asking he to dance with a challenge in his eyes. David’s voice always had the same effect on her - melting her bones with one word. She wanted to refuse but she saw his look. He knew how uncontrollable he made her, how she didn’t want him to touch her. Steeling herself for an onslaught to her senses that she knew was coming, she lifted her chin and put her hand in his. Than as she expected - delicious shiver glided down her back, blood rushed through her veins,, her heartbeat quickened, goosebumps covered her arms. His nearness was overwhelming and did something to her. But every since she had laid eyes on David he rubbed her the wrong was. Dana was carrying too much baggage that she wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to let go of. Baggage she’d been dealing with the last two years every since every newspaper in the country had featured her father’s incarceration and subsequent suicide two years ago. And she stayed clear of any kind of relationship with men. Davis used to be an investive journalist and that put him in the category of stay- as-far-away-as-possible. He probably knew all about her dads alleged involvement in a Ponzi scheme . David told her to relax to was a wedding she was way too tense. The last thing she wanted was for David to find out anything more about her life . he had his way of looking straight into her being, as if he could read her mind. Dana had to ignore this attraction but when he was close it was hard to remember her resolution. Dana had spent her HS years at the Sutherland house mainly and she is considered part of the family so she was invited to all the family gatherings. David danced her out to the veranda than behind a column and kissed her, Dana didn’t expect the pleasure that streaked through her body, for the way her whole body responded to the simple action. But being kissed by Davis wasn’t simple at all. Something primitive that David had never experienced before had taken over his usually analytical mind while Dana pulled him into another kiss. Flirting with beautiful women was part of his daily life, it was expected of him. Since Her father’s suicide dana had been trying to get to the truth of what had really happened . her brother George didn’t want anything to do with the mess and he was working in Dubai. David had been working on an investigation on Bob Hastings business might not be all it was supposed to be. Also Gareth Roux’s was mentioned and he needed more time to check if he was involved. But his editor took his notes and published everything and that was when Dana’s father gareth was arrested and a few days later dead before he could testify. David quit after that. All that mattered to his editor was selling papers. Dana was flying back with David and he had to tell her he’d been the one to spill the story. Caitlin’s mom wrote love stories and introduced dana to the wonders of happy endings. To this day when things get a bit more than she could handle Dana would escape to a fictional world where everyone was happy in the end. Shew had parked her car and was going to pay her parking ticket but David grabbed it and paid it. Than he had her suitcase and wouldn't give it up. David was making her behave in ways she had never thought possible. Than the journalist Dana met with let her know David had written the story that had her father arrested. She quickly left before she threw up or passed out- or both. She felt betrayed and cried and her car died . But she cried because David had betrayed her. He hadn’t told her he had written that story. David gave dana a ride home and he couldn’t remember ever feeling this way about a woman. Dana was hurling, and he wanted to take care of her, wanted to make all the bad stuff go away. But it was clear she was used to solving her own problems. A tenderness he didn’t understand made David gather Dana while she cried. Than Dana’s mother called. David went over to Dana’s early the next morning as he had contacted men involved with Hastings as financial investors. One had been to jail for one year and the other man hadn’t as they had no paper trail to him.
I loved this book. All the mystery, intrigue, suspense, danger and romance. YUM! I loved Dana and David together and how they interacted. I loved how Caitlin’s family made dana a part of it and how Don was also protective of Dana even against his brother as she was so important to his wife. I loved the pace and plot. I read this in one setting as I didn’t want to put it down. At times I chuckled and others choked up while reading this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

An Irresistible Temptation is the second of the Cavallo brothers to receive his story. Elsa Winckler established the background for the Cavallo family with the first book but builds on it in this story. Beginning at wedding party of the main couple from the first book in the series, it is still a stand-alone novel.

David Cavallo come across as a flirty hotel magnate but as the story progresses you see he is a complex man with a complicated past. School teacher Dana Roux humbles knows she could never fit in with his crowd. She has a past too but it is really more a family past, not her specially. Despite all this they are drawn to each other, with an irresistible sizzle. The book is well named.

The best book I have read by Elsa Winckler. An enjoyable read with a bit of drama and angst, lots of suspense, of course, family, loyalty and love. Intensely emotional “billionaire” story that that contains a mystery; more of the focus in on the investigating, very little on the family hotel business.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a NEW to me author & books! I wanted to read this story because the blurb caught my attention.
This is a fantastic story and story line! The hero is smoldering sexy and the heroine is smart-strong!!

Dana Roux has been trying to stay away from David Cavallo, the last of the Cavallo brothers to be single. He is a tycoon, sexy, smooth talker...but she won't fall for that, she has other things on her mind, like trying to find out and prove that her father did not commit suicide. That said, she doesn't need David the former journalist to bug in. When they both end up on a flight together, it gets hard to ignore one another, and maybe work together...

I am rating this book a 4.5 & RECOMMEND IT! It was surprisingly amazing for my first time read from this author!!

This wasn't something which worked for me. It may for others. I didn't feel the chemistry. The writing was fine but the third person is not a favorite either. It was just a case of me not the author

Not much to say about this book. I didn't really connect with the characters and the storyline and came away feeling mostly indifferent.

From the day hotel tycoon David Cavallo met Dana Roux, he knew there was something special about her. It wasn’t until years later when he finally made his move during his brother’s wedding. From that moment, David couldn’t get Dana out of his mind. But, Dana didn’t want a relationship. Her life was a mess as it was. She was still struggling with her father’s incarceration and suicide. When David offers to help Dana find out the truth about what really happened, their togetherness leads them both down a path neither expected. They were meant to be a couple and nothing and no one was going to stop them.

When I first picked up this book, I didn’t realize there would be a suspense part in it as well as the romance. It was a pleasant surprise and kept me on the edge of my chair to find out what would happen next. Lots of family dynamics, romance and excitement filled the pages. The author did a great job creating interesting characters and a fun and exciting plot. This book is part of a series, but each can be read as a stand-alone.

2 1/2 Star Review....

I’m not a fan of third person writing, and that made this book a push through read for me. I’m sure the story will appeal to others, but for me I struggled with the dual POV’s and the primary characters failed to impress. The book certainly sounded intriguing, but just didn’t deliver.

An Irresistible Temptation is a sweet story. It’s a quick read if looking for a book to get finish in a day. I couldn’t get into this story. It may be me. I will try to pick up again and see if I can connect with the story and characters.

An Irresistible Temptation
by Elsa Winckler

Dave Cavallo is a flirt that Dana Roux is not interested in. But after finding out he was the journalist that caused the downfall of her father they end up working together to find the truth. But what they find brings danger, along with growing feelings. Can they find the truth and clear her father? Well that you’ll have to read the book to find out.

I loved these two strong characters, and the way their personalities compliment each other. The storyline had a few twists that made this story thrilling.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I wanted to like this, I really did. I kept trying but it just wasn’t for me. The blurb didn’t really match with the story and the characters were likeable but didn’t really have the gumption to be of interest. It was readable but I was glad when I got to the end.

Very much like the first book of the series, I was left feeling less than impressed with this read. Feelings between the characters developed far quicker than the norm and the relationship moved way too fast that it became nothing more than a turn off. The characters were less than memorable and there wasn't anything in particular about this series that made it likable. Unlike the first book, I did decide to drop this half way through since it didn't really appeal to me at all.

The latest book in the Cavallo series, this is the story of Dana and David. She is a school teacher and he works for the hotel group but used to be an investigative journalist. He just wants to help her out and look after her, but she is used to looking after herself so will she let him in?

Every woman deserves to have a man look at her and treat her the way that David does for Dana. He is the sweetest, clueless man. I'm glad that his brothers set him straight.
