You can always count on K.A. Tucker to pull at those heart string. She's become one of my favorites after The Simple Wild. I was incredibly excited for this one and it didn't disappoint either!!!
Second chances romances are some of my favorites even if they mess with your heart something fierce. I absolutely LOVED the nostalgic summer camp vibes this had. It was adorable and reminded me of all my crazy summer camp crushes.
I read this book in one sitting. I found I couldn't put it down. The jumps in time from current to the past had me constantly wanting more. This was the type of love story that grabs your heart and has you anxiously biting your nails to see how things turn out. The young love in it was so sweet and relatable.
The main characters were both so likable too. Even though, Piper (love that name) is from a wealthy family, I really appreciated that she wasn't a spoiled brat. Then Kyle was everything I would have fallen for as a teenager! Such a dreamboat.
This one didn't quite effect me emotionally like the Simple Wild did but I was still in tears at one part. I will say Piper's work stuff didn't interest me a ton and it felt a touch quick at the end. I would have loved for just a few more pages. I thought the sex scenes were definitely more appropriate while still having passion. But, of course, I wouldn't have minded them being a smidge longer.
I really enjoyed this beautiful, heartfelt, story of young love and second chances. I'd definitely recommend this if you adore second chance romances, first love or wanna feel nostalgic about your summer camp days.
*Thank you so much to Atria Publishing for the gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Unfortunately, I think K.A. Tucker isn't for me. I had heard amazing things about The Simple Wild, but found it to be a bit "meh". However, I was willing to give this one a shot because it was getting so much hype. However, I really didn't love the characters or the writing style.
This was my first K. A. Tucker book, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. From the beginning, I loved how it was a dual timeline from when Piper and Kyle first fell in love, and when they reconnected years later. While they are both different people now, Piper’s feelings for Kyle are still the same. I loved how Piper was a strong female character fighting to prove she was just as capable as the males in the company.
I loved the main characters as well as the people that Piper surrounded herself with. It reminded me of summer camps when I was younger. If you’re looking for a fun second chance read, this is it.
Thank you to Atria Books and Simon & Schuster Canada for my digital ARCs. As always, my reviews are my own and unbiased opinions.
KA Tucker writes sizzling, steamy romances. Say You Still Love Me is a second-chance romance featuring Piper and Kyle, two kids who fell in love at summer camp, where they were both counselors. But life and their families had different expectations, and they lost touch. Fast forward to the present day, and Piper is the VP of her father's real estate firm, and she unexpectedly bumps into Kyle, who is now a security guard, and it seems like he doesn't even remember her. But like all good second-chance romances, the story doesn't end there.
If you are a fan of KA Tucker's other books or second chance romances in general, this one is a must-read.
I loved this book! Thank you for the ARC. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t leaving reviews on netgalley and was solely sharing on Instagram. My apologies. Huge fan of this author! I actually received the tangible copy. Trying to clean up my netgally account.
I couldn't get into this book and only made a few chapters. The writing was solid, but the plot and the characters weren't grabbing me.
KA Tucker writes very bingable books! She provides you with just enough emotion without it feeling overly cheesy and develops the characters so well .This wasn't my favorite book by her, but I enjoyed it nonetheless lesS!
Sometimes there's nothing like a summer camp love story...and this is a really good one. It had a slight Indian Summer vibe in all the reminiscing and the stunts they tried to get away with.
The story switches back and forth from the present to the past. Piper's from an affluent family but her Mom wants her to have a "normal" summer camp experience at the same camp she went to.
Piper's not on board, at least not until she sees Kyle. Kyle has quite the history and it's a big chip to carry but he does. It's just that Piper helps him deal with it better.
I enjoyed all the camp trials and tribulations but I was a bigger fan of what was going on in the present. Piper's moving up in her Dad's company and it's a huge battle with some of the other executives. Kyle was paramount in helping Piper and it was interesting to see how everything went down.
I felt the ending was a bit of a letdown. I wanted more and a better resolution.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher, for this free review copy.
This has been on my shelf since 2019, and I’m glad to finally be done with it. It took awhile to get into a groove, and I really wish there would have been more focus on the “now” instead of the “before.” While I still enjoyed it, it wasn’t my favorite from K.A. Tucker.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I was attracted to this book by the cover but found that to be the best part of this book. The characters were irritating and the story seemed better suited for a younger crowd.
Another amazing book from one of my faves. Alternating POV's brought this story full circle for me. I loved the back and forth from the past to the present, showing us the growth of these characters, as well as making this feel somewhat like a slow burn romance. I was hooked from the very beginning. I love this book!
This book right here! I can't express to you guys enough about how much I adored this book! It literally felt like I was reading one of my teenage fantasies in a book! Going off to summer camp and falling head over heels in love! This made my teenage heart hidden inside my adult body so incredibly happy! I also really enjoyed how we got present day Piper and past Piper. You can see how she grows but also stays true to herself. She is a real power house and boss babe who isn't at all afraid to stick up for herself and knows what she wants and how she should get it. That also includes Kyle, her one true love and soul mate who enters her life as quickly and abruptly as he left it after summer camp many years before. I LOVED these two and I was devoted to their story and the circumstances that got them to where they are now and rooted for them the whole way through! I found that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to understand why Kyle did what he did, and once I did I was!!! Seriously guys, I know the summer is almost over and most of us here are in a "YAY IT'S FALL!" type of way, but I highly suggest you make this your last summer read! It is one of my top books of this year, and a truly enjoyable summer romance that has everything in between (a little angst, a little slow burn, a little drama, teenage romance, adult sexy time, and some tears mixed into the bunch) 5 stars BIG TIME!
I had really high hopes for this one. This type of book is totally up my alley. The writing was good, but I was getting bored really easily. It's a fun summer read if you are wanting something on the beach.
The perfect summer read is here! This was one of my most anticipated reads of this year because I’ve come to expect only great stories from K.A. Tucker. Last year I fell in love with THE SIMPLE WILD and I was ready for more. While I can’t say this was better than that book, it was certainly a perfect book to read at the beach or just to give you all the summer vibes.
This is told in dual timelines as it’s a second chance romance. Our main characters meet when they were teenagers and attend summer camp together. Their connection and attraction is instant, their chemistry is palpable. He’s the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks and almost royalty at the camp. She’s the rich girl that comes from a seemingly perfect family that is crumbling at the seams, and is the new girl that tries to fit in. There’s definitely something that pulled them apart after that summer and they never saw each other again until she runs into him at her father’s company building. Her family owns a big real estate developer firm and she’s being groomed to take over for her father. He’s working security at the building’s door. They are still from two different worlds, but she’s always been in love with him.
If that sounds cute to you is because this is one hell of a cute story. I loved their second chance. I think these two are perfect together, they just fit. I also loved seeing a strong and successful business woman and how he had to adjust to the fact that she was the successful one in her career. She is pretty unapologetic in her actions working in a male dominated field, even when she’s being treated poorly by co-workers that think she’s just there to look good and because she’s daddy’s little girl. I think this was my favorite part of the story. Of course the romance and chemistry as well! And the female friendships. Our heroine became close friends with other girls at that summer camp and those friendships are still going strong today. They are her support system.
All that being said, this book was extremely predictable. I had every twist and turn figured out way before it happened. Maybe that’s just me. But I didn’t let that take away from my enjoyment of this story and still definitely think is a must read.
I also tried reading this book multiple times. I read that first chapter at least three times, but I couldn't get into it. It just wasn't for me. That's why I waited so long to write a review. I hate to be negative. about someone's hard work.
Such a cute and fun read! Perfect distraction in life right now. Really enjoyable characters and story and hard to put down!
I'm usually a big fan of K.A Tucker's writing, but this one wasn't for me. I disliked the focus on the times when they were younger and wanted to see them more as adults.
After reading my first book by K.A. Tucker (The Simple Wild) which I absolutely adored! I was super excited to read her new release! This was a fun book as it was the perfect summer book that brought back all the feels and nostalgia of first loves, camp, summer. Honestly, what I loved the most about this book was the heroine. She was a strong character that I really respect and want to be friends with. I also really enjoyed the second chance romance between our main characters.
Thank you so much to net galley and the publisher for providing me an advanced reader copy! If you haven't read this book then I highly recommend it. 3/5 stars
I liked both Kyle and Piper and the growth we see with them from the past to the present. I like tenacious female MCs and I liked that Piper's story didn't end with her giving any of her goals up in pursuit of romance. It was a fun story that lightly touched on heavier issues.
A tale as old as time about a rich girl and poor boy falling in love. Only it wasn’t interesting. The privilege of Piper in this book was jarring to read, and I couldn’t get over that fact. Plus the romance between the characters just was so long drawn that it didn’t feel like romance by the end. There are a lot of other romance novels too read, so skipping this one wouldn’t mean you’re missing anything.
