I thought this was a really cute story. You have the young love of Piper and Kyle, meeting at summer camp when something happens to pull them apart. he story jumps from THEN to NOW exposing some of their backstory. Then Kyle shows up at Piper's office as the new security guard.

Piper struggles with taking over the family business when employees don't take her seriously. A project is falling apart thanks to one guy in particular. So her plate is full, especially with an ex-fiance who also works there. However, when Kyle shows up she can't help but be drawn to him, you never really get over your first love. But can they make it in this new reality?

Piper Calloway is privileged, and she knows it. So when she has to spend her summer working at a “rustic” summer camp, she’s not exactly excited, but she appreciates what her parents are trying to do. Camp Wawa introduces her to friendship, first love, and tragedy. From her bond with troubled Kyle, to her friendship with Ashley, the summer is one that proves pivotal. Turner uses the duel timeline to her advantage, giving the reader hardworking, single adult Piper, and naive, privileged young Piper, connecting Piper A to Piper B in a nostalgic, coming of age manner. You’ll relive all your firsts and wish you’d been to summer camp yourself. Say You Still Love Me is a cute second chance love story, and if you’re a sucker for summer camps the way I am, I’d recommend it.

WOW, ok... where do I start?

First I just need to point out that this is my first K.A. Tucker book, which I am beginning to see is a big crime. I cannot believe I've put off reading her books for so long, but after being completely blown away with this one, it will definitely NOT be the last one I read.

Secondly, it has been a very long time since I've a book I have found so incredibly hard to put down. Sure, I've read a bunch of books this year that have become favorites, but very rarely did they enrapture me as much as this one did from the very beginning.

Thirdly, I ugly cried. Multiple times. That's how invested I was in these character's lives: and not just their romance, but in every single aspect of their lives. I very rarely cry reading books, and when I do, the tears are normally due to a series I already love for a while and already formed an old attachment to the characters. Ugly crying to the point of having to put down the book with a standalone? With me, this is almost unheard of.

I want to first talk about the characters. Piper, in many ways and for many reasons that I wont bore whoever is reading this review with, felt like was written for me. I not only related to her in so many levels, but I also learned so much from her kindness and determination. I enjoyed seeing a character that, even though has always had everything handed to her in a silver platter, never fails to be kind and considerate to others. She was humble and down to earth, and never felt entitled to her position at her father's firm (which she obviously very well could), instead, she worked hard for it everyday: to not only earn the respect of her father, but to earn the respect of the workers as well.

Her relationship with Kyle enraptured me from the very first time they interacted. I felt their chemistry as soon as they started talking, and found myself smiling and rooting for them like a fool very early on. They made me laugh so hard with the "2 lies and 1 truth" game, and from then on I was thoroughly invested in their romance.

I loved having past/present chapters. I am a big second chance fan, and I always feel like the books with these chapters make me care so much more for the couple's past/story. And I loved reading about Piper and Kyle's relationship when they were teens and when they were older. I loved the contrast of both of those - seeing how they grew, seeing them face their fears and the obstacles thrown their way - and there's always something so magical about seeing two past lovers reconnect and having held on to each other and the feelings they had throughout all the years that they were separate. This is why I feel like second chance is so magical: no matter what they go through, all of the, most of the times, ugly things their past threw at them, they still find a way to overcome those things so that they can be together again - because to them, no past is bigger than what they feel for one another. I just love reading these types of stories so much, and this one delivered on everything that I love the most about second chance.

I also loved the friendships. I'm always looking for a nice side friendship in romance, specially between girls, and I loved reading about the bond Piper, Ashley and Christa created throughout the years.

My one tiny issue is Kyle keeping things from Piper for most of the story, and only deciding to tell her when he knew he was going to be discovered anyways. But I did understand his motivations, even though I wish he could've just outright told her on his own.

This was my first K. A. Tucker book, but it probably won't be my last. This made me smile, laugh and bawl like a baby, and filled my heart with so much joy from beginning to end. It might've made me a little bit sad that I never was a counselor at a summer camp at sixteen and had a fling with a hot guy with a lip piercing, lol!

I have no doubt in my mind that once 2019 comes to a close, this will still be one of my favorite books of the year.

Let me preface this with saying that I have yet to read any of K.A. Tucker’s books. They are on my TBR but y’all know how that is. They kept getting pushed down.

But I am so glad I was lucky enough to receive an ARC since those have a quote-unquote due date. And I am so happy I was able to read Say You Still Love Me.

I have never been to camp. My friends have never been to camp. My father went to camp but that was really long ago. I never experienced the feelings that came with the summer heat and mystery of the forest. No matter how many times I watched The Parent Trap.

But I was utterly transported from my living room to the rural woods of upstate New York. K.A. Tucker’s writing was entirely too immersive and picturesque while dealing with the ugliness that comes with first love. It was angelic and messy and heartbreaking and heartmending.

I honestly loved it so much. I would have liked more in the end but what reader doesn’t. Piper was trying to make her own way in the world while working within an old boys club. And succeeding. She was a force of nature and the fact that she was genuinely nice was the best thing about her. Like yeah, she could buy and sell New York City ten times over (probably) but she wouldn’t and didn’t and, best of all, didn’t act like it.

And Kyle was a sweetheart that was bumbling all over himself trying to get Piper’s attention. The attention that was already on him. Honestly, I want a Kyle. Like for reals.

They both had their faults and they tried to work through it and the fact that neither of them gave up really spoke to their character and how much I want to be friends with them all. The “supporting cast”, if you will, was the best thing about this book.

And the way it was written was the most interesting thing ever. I don’t typically like books that go back and forth between the past and the present. Mainly because it’s never done well. But K.A. Tucker has managed to do that. I hated the Henry Cavill version of Superman because the flashbacks completely detracted from the story they were trying to tell. I was afraid that it was going to be the same with this one. But it wasn’t. And I can’t praise that enough.

The flashbacks were beautifully written and added to the story all the way up until the present met with the past.

Long story short, Y’all need to read this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the advanced copy.

I love KA Tucker books, and have read almost everything she's written. This book was a good read, but I expected that. A second chance romance, going between summer camp when the main characters were 16/17 and present time. There's a bit of mystery surrounding that summer - *something* happened but you don't know what until the end. Kyle disappeared and cut off all contact after they were sent home early from camp, but you don't find out why until the end. But he shows back up in her life and they reconnect and rekindle, per most second chance romance books.

I liked the alternating time periods (summer camp and present). It worked for me, for this book. It did take a while to get to the real crux of the story though, and then a lot was crammed into the end.

Overall, a good read, and I will definitely look forward to what she writes next!

This is my first K.A. Tucker book and definitely won't be my last.

I am all about second chances, and there was a lot of that going around in this story. The main focus was the rekindling of the romance between Piper and Kyle after 13 long years, but there were a bunch of great side plots too. I have to admit, I adored the chapters, when we went back in time to summer camp. Not only was the camp setting tons of fun, but I got to watch Piper and Kyle fall in love. First love is always a thing of beauty, and Tucker did it so well.

While I was reading, I kept imagining more books in this world. A book Piper's roommates and Kyle's brother would be fabulous, and would allow me to check up on Piper and Kyle.

Overall: A fantastic twofer romance - part first love, part second chance, and wholly wonderful!

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker is an emotional second chance romance.

I have to be honest with you, this book got on my nerves just a twinge. Every other chapter happened in the past when our characters were 16 and 20, about 50% through the book I was completely over the flashback chapters. I felt they were completely unnecessary and I didn't enjoy them.

I really enjoyed the present parts of Say You Still Love Me and really thought that the past slowed the story down. I know a lot of people enjoy flash backs and getting backstories, but I'm not one of them. Well, at least in this book because we... you see it was just TOO much for me. I felt everything I just read was explained in the future.

The story or Piper and Kyle was heartbreaking and heartwarming, honestly the story was an emotional roller coaster. Piper was an interesting character because she was a strong woman who people constantly hid things, but I loved that when she did finally learn the truth about things that she thought, for the most part, before reacting to the situations.

Overall if you are looking for an emotional second chance romance, Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker will fit the bill to a tee and have you falling in love twice.

I’m a fan of K.A. Tucker and this book did not disappoint. I started reading this laaaaaate last night and the next thing I knew it was 3am and the last word on the the page had been read.

A second chance with your first love feel good story told in alternating timelines. I enjoyed seeing the young adults feeling out love and friendship in contrast to their adult personalities 13 years later. I loved the message that you are not defined by the circumstances you’re born into. Such a well written contemporary romance.

A second chance romance that went back in forth in time. I had a difficult time with that at times. I enjoyed the characters but it was the going back in time that made me loose focus on the story. I would still recommend this story.

What a great second chance at love for Piper and Kyle.
Tucker took a familiar trope --- a young summer love story detoured--- and infused it with her special essence that always keeps me running to her new releases.
Piper is a woman in a job where she is surrounded men and always having to prove her worth. Throw in her contentious ex and it's safe to say she has a whole lot going on at work. And then it gets even more complicated when she comes face to face with the new security guard.
Yep. Kyle.
Tucked away feelings come flooding back to the surface and they bring along a bunch of unanswered questions for her.

The plot twist was refreshing and I think truly fitting to the twisty turn road to love Piper and Kyle seem destined to travel.

The only thing that kept this from being a full five stars for me is the amount of flashbacks. While I'm not against YA or flashbacks, in this case I felt like I was sometimes reading two different stories and it would pull me out of the flow for some reason. I think it resulted in me feeling the book was a little slowly paced.

K.A. Tucker further cements herself as one of my favorite authors with Say You Still Love Me. I'm amazed by her ability to routinely tell different stories, capture new feelings, and make each book uniquely her own. This book brought back every sense of teenage angst in the best possible way. It didn't hurt that I'm the same age as the main character, Piper, which made this book feel all the more nostalgic. I loved seeing her evolution from a sixteen-year-old lovestruck girl to the tough-as-nails boss lady of her late twenties. I felt as if I was simultaneously sixteen and twenty-nine while reading.

Though this story started out a tad slow for my taste, it eventually captured my whole heart with the spectacular slow-burn romance at play. I wasn't sold on the past perspective at the beginning of the novel but as the story got moving, I couldn't get enough of both points-of-view. I was impressed by how easily I was able to sink into the story as it wore on, unable to put it down in the late hours of the night.

I don't care how many times I read certain tropes, second-chance in this case, all that matters is if it's well-done. Let me tell you now, this was perfectly timed and well-written. The slow easing into the relationship between Piper and Kyle was everything. Every moment between them had an air of tension and excitement. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next between the two of them. I can't help but relish in characters who come from different worlds falling in together as well. I'm all for love trumping social status, even if Daddy doesn't like it, and this book was the perfect example of it.

The camp setting of the past was so realistic, I could almost feel the sensation of the hot summer sun on my skin while swimming in the lake with friends. This steamy summer romance needs to be on your list for those last-minute beach trips before the season begins its fade to fall.

Many thanks to Atria Books & Netgalley for the chance to read this book early.

K.A. Tucker never ever fails me when it comes to romance. Say You Still Love Me is a modern story about a successful businesswoman and a guy from the wrong side of the track. Young love meets reality. It was beautifully written weaving past and present in a way that left my heart happy and full.

I could relate to Piper and Kyle's journey, my husband and I met at sixteen, parted ways at 18, and didn't reconnect for ten years. There was this nostalgic feeling that I carried with me while reading this story. It made it that much more for me. Piper and Kyle meet at summer camp were for the first time in Piper and Kyle's lives, they are seen as equals.

There is nothing better than that innocent all encompassing first love and all the butterflies and nervousness that goes along with it. For Piper and Kyle it's a summer they will never forget.

Thirteen years later, after much heartbreak, they find themselves face to face. Piper is about to take over her father's company and Kyle is a security guard in the building. The chemistry and tension between the two is palpable. All those unrequited feelings come rushing back. This story though isn't an easy one. There are way too many obstacles and I was honestly unsure if Piper and Kyle could overcome.

Both Piper and Kyle had a lot of growing to do, even all those years later. And it's in that journey that you fall in love with them both. It's sweet, sad, and even funny at times. Tears were shed and many heartwarming moments were felt. Say You Still Love Me is the perfect summer read and another outstanding story from K.A. Tucker.

I've been a fan of K.A. Tucker since the beginning and I one thing I've learned is that she brings something different to the table every time. Each series is different as is each book. Say You Still Love shares the story of first love and what happens when you get a second chance with them.

Great summer romance! Tucker manages a heartfelt and steamy romance, and I loved the summer camp setting.

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker: Piper is a brilliant, determined, and ballsy executive in her family’s real estate development company. She’s being groomed to one day take over the business and she’s learning a lot of lessons in how to deal fragile male egos and sexism. She’s also convincing her ex, a fellow VP, and her parents that she is not and will not be taking him back.

Piper definitely grew up privileged, but she had a life-changing experience during summer camp at Camp Wawa. In a bid to show Piper how the other half live, she had a job as a camp counselor. That summer changed everything as she fell in love with a boy from the wrong side of the tracks, Kyle, and found life-long friendships.

Kyle is the one guy she can’t forget, no matter how their relationship ended or how much time goes by. It all comes rushing back when her Kyle gets a job as a security guard in the building where she works. Kyle has definitely changed, and for the better, but he’s not exactly jumping at the chance to reconnect.

Despite the time and their very different career paths, the attraction is still there. There are so many questions and things to catch up on since they haven’t kept in touch. Getting closure on the past is only one of the hurdles in their way. They have to get to know each other all over again without the benefit of the relative isolation they had all those years ago.

Say You Still Love Me is an engaging and multi-layered story with banter, conflict, heat, heartbreak, and surprises. K.A. Tucker delivers an engaging second chance romance while also touching on contemporary issues of money, power, and the treatment of women in the workplace. Ms. Tucker develops an entertaining and interesting cast with a focus on family, friendships, and second chances. Fans of Christina Lauren and Emma Chase will enjoy Say You Still Love Me.

KA Tucker sure knows how to do romance, and she’s picked the perfect setting for this one.

I’ve always loved summer camp stories. There’s something so exciting about the notion of being away from home in the woods with a bunch of other teenagers. Maybe I just have an overly romanticized view of camp because I never went. Say You Still Love Me definitely plays off of this, in the best way.

Say You Still Love Me follows Piper, a 29-year-old working for her father’s real estate company in the city of Lennox. One day she runs into her first-love Kyle in the lobby of her building. Kyle, who Piper has not seen or heard from in 13 years, is working as a security guard for her father’s company, and doesn’t seem to remember Piper. As Piper gets to know this new version of Kyle, she is brought back to the time when she was at Camp Wawa all those years ago.

Told in first person from the perspective of Piper, the story alternates between present day and the summer of 2006 at Camp Wawa. I was incredibly partial to the sequences at Camp Wawa. I found myself anxious to get through chapters in the present tense to get back to the teenage antics at camp. Not that the chapters told in the present tense were bad, they just weren’t as fun.

Both Piper and Kyle were great characters. I loved their story and their romance. I found myself on multiple occasions begrudging the fact that I had to put their story down and get on with my adult life. I wanted so badly to stay in their world with them. I highly recommend Say You Still Love Me to fans of contemporary romances, camp, and second chances.

I really liked the idea behind this story: two teenage camp counselors fall in love and then meet again later in life. I have to say that I did enjoy their teenage romance, I felt like the thrill of their relationship was very realistic, and it can be fun to read about reckless teenagers from time to time. However, it also had me going... oh dear... I don't know that I could ever be a parent of a teenager. LOLOL I wanted SO MUCH to love this story... but a lot of the present day plot didn't quite work for me. While I was interested to see who Piper and Kyle became, there was a LOT of buildup in the present day plot. It didn't particularly help that I don't love corporate settings, and a lot of it was related to her job in real estate development. It also took too long for them to meet back up, and their wasn't a lot of focus on their present day relationship... which I really wanted. I did like some of the more emotional parts, and the ending was nice too. It was quite bittersweet, which I also kind of liked. Overall this was a fun read, but I wanted a little bit more from it.

Say You Still Love Me by @katucker_ is such a fun read. I never went to sleep away camp growing up, but the atmospheric descriptions had me cliff jumping with the rest of the Wawa crew!

Synopsis: Piper Calloway is an impressive lead - she is a 29 year old VP at her dad's multi billion dollar real estate development company. When she was 16 she was a counselor at Camp Wawa and met and fell in love with Kyle. When camp ended, she never heard from him again until she sees him in the lobby of her building working as their newest security guard.

Review: This is my third K.A. Tucker this month and I'm hooked! Piper is such a boss and a strong female character. I admired how she navigated her relationship with Kyle, a boy she met when she was 16 at summer camp, and with her dad, a headstrong, and overly protective father. She is kind and generous to her friends, assistants, and employees at work, and she is passionate and well respected among colleagues. I loved the backstory and present day/second chance stories of Piper and Kyle's relationship; I felt like I was flying through chapters to see how it all played out. I wasn't fully invested in the drama at her work, but it did tie all the pieces and characters together well. The differences in class and socioeconomic status were a central theme to the story, but there were a few places I thought could have been toned down. I thought the relationship Piper had with her ex/coworker seemed realistic in both their jealousy and in their kindness and appreciation for each other. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it's perfect for the summer!

This book publishes on August 6 from @atria books. Thank you @netgalley and @atria for my advanced copy.

After really enjoying K.A. Tucker’s last book, The Simple Wild, I was really excited to receive an advance e-copy of Say You Still Love Me, a second chance love story in which teenage camp counselors, Piper and Kyle, meet again 13 years later. ⁣

I really enjoyed the character development and the way the story unfolded via alternating timelines. I thought this was a great book about female empowerment and I loved how the author addressed the subject of fragile male egos. Piper was certainly a badass but I appreciated the honesty in how she faced her own insecurities as many of us do while balancing rising success in the work place.⁣

Unfortunately, I felt the book was just a bit slow for my taste. I never really found myself craving more of the story while I wasn’t reading it. And maybe it was just because I had a different ending building up in my mind, but the way the story wrapped up just seemed to fall a little flat for me.

Overall, I would still recommend, especially for fans of contemporary romance and think it would make a light, easy summer read.⁣

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟.75 / 5⁣

🔥 Steam Factor: 1-2/5 (a little steamy but mostly “fade to dark” scenes)⁣

Thank you @netgalley and @atriabooks for the advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book hits bookshelves next week on 8/6!⁣

K.A. Tucker is proving to be one of my favorite authors. I was so excited for this book that I found myself saving it to read because I was already dreading the book hangover. This book delivered and was such a great read! It was a mix between contemporary romance and YA. I happen to love both of these genres a lot so it was perfect for me.
Piper is forced to work a summer, at camp Wawa, because her mother used to go there and because her parents feel she needs to learn some work ethic. Piper comes from money and has not had to work a day in her life. She finds that she does not want to stay and work until another counselor, Kyle, walks through the door. Piper sets her sights on Kyle and has a whirlwind summer romance. Kyle then leaves without so much as a call after and Piper is left trying to piece her life together and move on. Fast forward 13 years and Kyle shows up to start his new job as a security guard in Piper's building. Is this coincidence, fate, or bad luck that the young lovers will have to reunite and talk about their past once again.
The story moves between past and present and the author does a good job of leaving the reader wanting more. I had a hard time putting this book down since I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Thank you Atria Publicity and NetGalley for my ARC of this book for an honest review.
