K.A Tucker is back! I love KA Tucker, but for some reason I was not able to get into her last few releases. I will still always pick up what she writes, so I had to jump on getting an E-ARC of Say You Still Love Me.
This one brought me to tears and I read it in one sitting. I do not want to give too much away, but it is a must read. I will be purchasing my own copy once it is released to add to my collection.
Oh how I loved this book!
The author takes the reader back and forth between Piper's time at summer camp as a teen and her current life where she is in a high-powered role at her father's company. She is just about to take the reins of the company when her former flame and long lost summer camp love, Kyle, shows up in the very building she works in. The twists and turns will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to read just why Piper and Kyle parted ways after summer camp and whether forever is a possibility for them today.
K.A Tucker is an awesome romance author. She also knows how to tell a story, and the important parts to highlight. She made me feel a world of emotions in this book and honestly I’m shocked at just how much I loved this one. At first glance at the cover, I wasn’t expecting too much, but this was such a great book.
I’ve never read a ‘second chance romance’ before and I absolutely am intrigued by this concept. I mean, having feelings last for 13 years after seems a bit unrealistic, but the way this story was told with the past and present viewpoints made the reader feel the connections and the grasp to the past as more immediate and believable. It was a smart plot device and I really did enjoy it. Piper was a strong-willed, independent and passionate businesswoman. Her wealth, status or family didn’t define her and she was able to create a really special life for herself by making her own decisions and following her heart.
I think a big part of this book was the nostalgia the reader feels for summer camp. I mean, even if I didn’t go to a camp when I was a teen, I could probably still picture the events of this book perfectly because of the author's incredible descriptions. This has office intrigue, family conflict, friendship, love and romance all woven beautifully together in a unique and well-written story.
Thank you to Atria Books for sending the NetGalley widget my way for an honest review. Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker releases August 6.
Piper Calloway has it all. She’s on her way to becoming the CEO of her father’s real estate company, Calloway Group, she has her best friends as her roommates in a luxury condo, she’s got a fiancé, and is more than ready to take on the world. Even when things end up not working out with her fiancé, she’s not going to let that get her down.
Piper puts her focus on her job, becoming fully immersed in her work life and convinces herself she has no time to date. That is until she recognizes the new security guard at the office and she stops in her tracks — it’s Kyle, her first love from the summer camp, Camp Wawa, where she worked at thirteen years ago. The boy who broke her heart.
Stunned and caught up in reliving her past, Piper has the overwhelming realization that she never got over the feelings she had for him. Piper knows she has to confront Kyle, find out why he never contacted her and, more importantly, find out if he still loves her.

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker is a sweet summertime romance filled with nostalgic memories and a second chance young love. This story had a bit of a YA feel, yet it still stayed true to the romance and writing style of Tucker’s previous books. The details were something that I found to be intricately written — I could almost feel the warm sun and the exhilaration of jumping off a cliff into water.
While the writing is thoughtful and detailed, there were certain phrases that were overused and repeated a bit too much throughout. It didn’t have a huge affect on my reaction to the story as a whole, however it was noticeable and eventually caught my attention more often throughout.
The characters were relatable and likable, I enjoyed seeing sixteen year old Piper in comparison to twenty-nine year old Piper. However, the character development ended up being a bit lacking for her, in my opinion. It was a bit unbelievable that thirteen years later she would see her first love and immediately fall back into being infatuated by him when he completely broke her heart. Let alone that she had recently broken off her engagement. She’s completely willing to let someone she knew thirteen years ago back into her life wholly and even give him a key to her condo when they barely know each other at this time in their lives. It felt a little immature and unrealistic, leaving me confused and a bit frustrated.
The pacing of the story was slow building at first, and I enjoyed seeing the situations and events play out at an even pace. As I approached the ending though, the story seemed to pick up pace immensely and began to feel too rushed. Piper went from unforgiving to forgiving without much thought and that also took away from the development of her character. I did enjoy the way the past and present seemed to align when Piper and Kyle end up back at Camp Wawa in the present — that was a great touch that brought the story full circle.
Overall, Say You Still Love Me is a romantic, sweet read that I enjoyed reading in the sun on my front porch. Though it didn’t keep a consistent flow and the characters and situations weren’t as realistic as they could have been, this story is perfect for taking time to think back and reminisce on those summertime memories that we all carry with us.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, electronic ARC of this novel, received in exchange for an honest review.
“Say You Still Love Me” is the quintessential “boy-from-wrong-side-of-tracks-meets-rich-girl-whose-parents-disapprove” love story. Star-crossed teenagers meet as counselors at a summer camp, proceed to fall in love, and then are torn apart by time, distance, and the influence (and bank accounts) of disapproving parents, only to meet again as adults. A story old as time, yet somehow “Love Me” still manages to entertain.
KA Tucker is a Canadian author (holla to a fellow Canuck!) of seventeen novels and counting, including “Keep Her Safe” and “The Simple Wild”. Tucker’s talent has allowed her to take an overdone plot, and add her own creative twist, making the story dramatically addicting.
Piper Calloway is well on her way. At 29 years old, she is being set up to take over for her father when he retires from the highly profitable Calloway Group. Hardworking and determined, Piper is suddenly sidelined when a new security guard starts at CG; a security guard she recognizes as Kyle Miller, the boy she had a relationship with when she was a counselor at Camp Wawa years ago. Piper quickly realizes that the feelings she once had are back with a vengeance, but Kyle does not seem to even recognize her. Piper must decide if it is worth the risk (to her job, her family, her life as she knows it) to pursue a long-lost love from her past and finally have all of her questions about Kyle’s sudden disappearance, answered.
This novel is told in alternating time lines; one in present day, and one from years ago when Piper and Kyle were camp counselors. Each chapter narrates a different time line, and each time line is clearly identified, which makes the juxtaposition of years very easy to follow.
Kyle and Piper’s relationship, both in the past and currently, is honest and flawed, without an overabundance of saccharine sweet romanticism that often keeps me from experiencing novels like this. In “Say you Still Love Me”, I actually rooted for the characters throughout, without the vomit-inducing sickly sweet romantic nonsense that exists in other novels of this genre.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy real romance, with genuine turmoil and challenges, complete with feelings of nostalgia (if not of summer camp, than of summer romances) and a satisfying ending. Tucker has turned me on to romantic novels again, and I thoroughly thank her for it.
If I'm going to read romance I want it to be K.A. Tucker, she combines romance and mystery/intrigue perfectly into her stories so I end up totally engrossed and want to read the entire book in one sitting, and then end up disappointed that there's nothing left to read.
Say You Still Love Me is the story of Piper Calloway and her unrequited love from summer camp. The book goes back and forth between her summer at camp 13 years ago and the present day where she's a big shot VP at her dad's company. The story is heartwrenching as most people can remember the intensity of their first loves (or infatuations) and you'll be flipping through pages to see what happens to Piper and her first love Kyle.
I'm a huge fan of second chance romances, and Kyle and Piper worked on getting theirs. I loved a lot of things about this story, but I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and the ending to be a bit 'easy'.
The characters were relatable, and I wanted them to work things out.
Say you still love me by KA Tucker is a beautiful romance that encompasses the nostalgic pull of a first love and the tricky complications of a second chance.
At 29 years old, Piper Calloway is the VP of her Father’s multibillion dollar real-estate firm. She is a complete power house in a world dominated by men. Things get complicated at work when the new security guard turns out to be none other than her first love, Kyle Miller. Kyle and Piper met at summer camp where they were both camp counselors. They were swept up in a summer romance that was doomed from the start. She was an heiress and he was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. After a tragic event that summer, they were abruptly ripped apart. Now that Kyle has reappeared in Piper’s life, she not only has to navigate through her feelings towards him but also through the cut throat business world she is trying so hard to dominate.
In this novel, K.A. Tucker seamlessly transitions back and forth, from past to present, to create a riveting tale that uncovers secrets of the past and complicates the second chance love story that emerges during the present. What I loved most about the novel was the overwhelming nostalgic feeling that pulsed throughout the story. K.A. was able to capture the utter magic of being young and in love and it will leave you itching for more. The chemistry between the characters was palpable and I felt every single emotion while on this rollercoaster of a love story-the undeniable longing, the passion, the uncertainty. I was gripped by this story until the very last page. If you want a heart wrenching romance about first love and second chances, this is the story for you.
Thank you to the author, the publishers. And netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I've discovered that K.A. Tucker's books are kind of hit-or-miss for me. I loved A SIMPLE WILD and liked BE THE GIRL, but couldn't get into in this book. I felt a little bogged down by all the descriptions and wasn't drawn in by the story enough to continue reading to the end. I didn't connect to Piper or Kyle, and would have preferred a more exciting hook at the beginning instead of hints of insta-love. However, I think that says more about my preferences than about the quality of this book. I didn't have any other major issues with the writing style.
I've definitely read some positive reviews about SAY YOU STILL LOVE ME from other readers. But for now, I'm passing on this one and will give K.A. Tucker's next release a try.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Not my favourite K.A. Tucker read because it was a little light on the suspense, but it was still twisty and sexy, the way I anticipate a K.A. Tucker book to be. I still managed to race through this title, finishing it in a matter of days and it stayed with me, finding its way into a dream I had the night I finished it.
4,5 perfect balance stars
This book is a perfect balance between cute yet real, past and present, nostalgic yet hopeful.
I won’t explain the plot as you can go read the blurb but I will focus on the cast and what made me love that book
1) Meet the cast:
Kyle is: boyish, handsome, loyal, afraid to be associated with his family’s mistakes, respectful, a good man. Humble yet self-confident.
He respects Piper and can’t believe how lucky he is. He will never pressure her yet once they’ll “do it” he will take care of her. Even as a teenager he was a catch LOL 😀
Daring, he can’t resist a challenge. At camp Wawa he was a people’s boy.
Piper is: rich but values people by their behavior and character not by their bank account. Down to earth. Generous. Simple. Caring. Smart. She is passionate about her dad’s work.
She wants he dad’s approval as they share a special bond.
Teenage Piper was also afraid of her parent’s divorce and what it will entail for her.
She could never resist Kyle’s dare!
Both are attracted to each other like hormonal magnets. It was a little bit like love at first sight. They were oozing pheromones and my head was just pinning as it was such a heady mix!
Now for the sidekicks:
Eric was a hellion. Typical goof and devil may care teenager.
Ashley was sweet, creative and kind. Always ready to follow Piper on her adventure.
Christa was bossy. A planner and organizer. The voice of reason. She also cares deeply about her friends even if her exterior rather looks like a hedgehog than a sweet kitty.
Piper’s dad was intense. Harsh but KA made him not a real villain as all that he’s done was to protect Piper. And he remains human and cares about other’s misfortune. At heart he is a good guy. An overprotective father wanting to protect his daughter. He pushes Piper very hard as he is preparing her, grooming her. He made mistakes but he owned them and somehow atoned for them. As the saying goes: The road to hell is paved with good intentions ….
2) What made me love that book?
Well of course the characters first as I am a character driven stories kind of reader.
I love that KA Tucker takes the time to flesh out her characters and give the needed nuances to make them real. They have flaws but are good at heart. Even Piper’s dad seemed harsh sometimes but we could not stay mad at him as his actions came from the need to protect his daughter but not boss her like you can sometimes see in other storie.
I thought about the construction of the story. Alternating between past and present chapters is never my favorite way to tell a story. I usually want to rush up the past chapters and just stay in the present. Or want a first part about the past and a second past about the present. Yet it did not bother me much in Say You Still Want Me.
Because the past chapters were as interesting and real as the present chapters.
Because the past featured really likeable teenagers falling in love that summer. You even get great sidekicks with the goofy best friend, artsy girl and “always walk the line” roommate.
They were needed to understand the dynamic between Piper and Kyle when they will come face to face again. They were necessary to grasp Kyle’s secrets and some things he’ll tell Piper in the “now”.
I loved all the feelings I got to experience while reading: the meet cute at the camp, the burgeoning love with its thrill and first pitter patter of the heart. The shock at seeing someone you cared for from your past. The anger when Piper had to face masochistic pigs as a vice president of her father’s company. The rush of a work well done be it because the teary little girl you had to mother left you with a parting gift at the end of her week or because you are part of a city’s transformation. I worried and wondered too not knowing if I would simply be one more notch under the alluring boy’s belt or if his come-back in my life had a deeper meaning than just taking a new job.
I cried too, at the end of the summer or learning what happened to some friend.
I also basked in a lasting friendship.
If you are looking for a smart, realistic moving NA story don’t look further!
Last but not least I want to thank Simon and Schuster for sending me this copy!
This book was pure KA Tucker magic. Fantastic from page one. loved every single second of this amazing read and would highly recommend to all romance lovers.
Say You Still Love Me flips between Piper's present-day life as a twenty-nine-year-old VP in her father's real estate development firm and 13 years earlier when she is a camp counselor at Camp Wawa. I like how the story develops both in the present day and the past as we come to discover the importance of history and how powerful memories can be.
Highly recommended for a nice light read about love and the power to overcome.

Say You Still Love Me is a story about Piper who's at the top of her game when it comes to her job but still stuck in the past romantically. She can't seem to get over the boy who broke her heart at summer camp. I really LOVED the last 100 pages of this book but everything before that was pretty boring. Too much work talk and not enough drama. Also there's a bunch fo different guys to keep track of in this story. I think fans of K.A. Tucker will probably love this story but for me it was kinda boring most of the way through. I did love the ending though.
This book took me by sheer surprise. Complete and utter surprise (but in the best kind of way!). I love feeling nostalgia while I am reading, no matter the genre of the book and I love the “NA genre” feelings that come out when you read some of those great books (like the ones in 2012-2014) so reading Say You Still Love Me was such a nice breath of fresh air.
I really enjoyed the past and present timeline within the story. In my honest opinion– it really made this book and the feelings that we throughout more real. Seeing the relationship between Piper and Kyle evolve both past and present, really set the tone to this story and made the roller-coaster of emotions that much more intense.
Not to mention I loved Piper and her assertiveness and forwardness when it came to Kyle! Loved it! From the very beginning I just adored the way she stood her ground when it came to him and at times even throwing in some fun and wit with it! When a heroine takes control and lets others know how she is feeling, I am always more drawn to them.
Between the summer vibes, being a kid with no care in the world, fun-dip, and so much more I was on cloud nine in the nostalgia department! Loved it. Appreciated it. Craved it!
I thought Say You Still Love Me was a GREAT “2012 K.A. Tucker” vibe. I have been waiting for this book from her since the Ten Tiny Breath series. If you are a fan of feeling nostalgic, mixed with some NA genre, and some second chance romance… be sure to check this one out come release day!
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the chance to read this book! It was amazing! The first 20 percent of the book had a very slow pace and didn't really hold my attention! I wasn't understanding the back and forth between the times lines. Once Kyle came into the present day storyline that completely changed! I understood how the two time lines were vital besides just in telling a love story. I can't say enough great things about the book! It is one of the best books I have read in awhile! The other 80 percent more than made up for my disinterest in the beginning! I would actually go out an purchase it when it comes out in August just to have a paperback version, it was that good! :)
What a lovely book this is! Piper and Kyle meet at camp 13 years ago and their summer is one of magic and love. In the present they are living very separate lives until Kyle shows up at Piper's family business as a new security guard. This story is told in the past and the present and it is a lovely, romantic story full of heartbreak and joy. This is my first book by KA Tucker and I'm hooked! I loved the writing and the characters were so vivid I felt like I knew them. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book brought back so many nostalgic camp memories for me and I loved every second of it. The way the story jumps back and forth between past and present added extra suspense to the novel and the characters were delectable. I absolutely loved everything about Say You Love Me and now I kind of want to read it again! Attractive and successful girl falls in love with boy from the wrong side of the tracks... yep-- count me in!
I don't think I've read a single book from K.A. Tucker yet that I haven't loved and Say You Love Me was no exception to that rule. I loved this novel from start to finish and couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend it if you love some feel good romance! I can't wait for you guys to pick this one up! Thank you so much to Atria and NetGalley for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Rating 5/5
I’ve been a fan of K.A. Tucker since she released her first book, and she continues to wow me with her writing. In this book we are introduced to Piper and Kyle, who meet one summer while working as camp counselors. Though they come from completely different backgrounds, the spark between them ignites instantly. Their summer together is one of passion, adventure, and a hint of mischief, but when tragedy strikes they are torn apart leaving Piper with a broken heart and few answers.
Fast forward thirteen years and while Piper is being prepped to take over her father’s business, she bumps into Kyle working security for the very building she works in. Piper is not immune to the emotional whiplash this causes her and soon all the feelings from years ago come flooding back to the surface. Kyle, however, is harboring his own secrets, and they go so much deeper than I could have ever imagined. While I was angry that he just showed up out of the blue with no warning and no explanation, he had his reasons for staying away. But are they enough to allow Piper to forgive and forget, or will it finally destroy whatever feelings Piper has been holding onto all these years? I’ll leave that for you to find out. ;)
While this isn’t my favorite book by K.A. Tucker, I did really enjoy reading it. She has a way of writing stories that are both entertaining and relatable, and this book is a perfect example of that. I look forward to reading more from her.

Thank you to Atria Books for approving me for an early copy!
I've been excited to read this book for awhile now, and when I was approved I was excited to dive in that second and DEVOUR this story. I've been a huge fan of KA Tucker's recent releases, so I will read anything she writes honestly.
THE SIMPLE WILD was one of my all time favorite books last year, I mean I was OBSESSED with that book inside and out. One of the highlights of WILD for me was that the atmosphere Tucker created with the book. I truly felt like I was in the Alaskan woods - truly, the entire book was an intimate experience and made me mark Alaska down as one of my top places to visit.
OKAY, enough about that book! While I did enjoy SAY YOU STILL LOVE ME, I didn't think it was on the same level as THE SIMPLE WILD. In SYSLM, I thought Tucker captured the atmosphere of Camp WaWa in a similar way she did with the Alaskan Wild in TSW. I truly felt like I was at the camp with Piper and Kyle, and I was actually almost sad reading the flashback chapters because they made me nostalgic and made me wish I had been a camp counselor back when I was in high school. Anyways, I really loved the summer camp chapters because I truly could feel the bond between Piper and Kyle, and enjoyed reading about them falling in love so quickly and effortlessly - the two were definitely made for each other...
BUT....Okay, when I read the synopsis my heart jumped with excitement when I read that this was going to be an office romance of sorts because I AM OBSESSED WITH THEM, but when I would get to the present day chapters, it almost felt like I was reading a different book??? The romance between Kyle and Piper didn't flow quite as effortlessly in the present chapters as it did in the flashback chapters...I mean 13 years had passed between the past and present, so I thought that Piper and Kyle would have to fall in love with each other again, but they really didn't, it was just kinda assumed they still loved each other, but even then, the romance felt so STALE??? Or I felt really detached to the romance in the present? And I think this is where the book fell flat for me because the author is trying to convince me that these two are in love with each other still and are basically going to spend the rest of their lives together, but I felt like Piper and Kyle were two different people and the CONNECTION WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story, it was a bit slow at times during the present chapters with the whole Tripp storyline that I didn't care for, but I would definitely pick this one up if you've been a fan of Tucker's previous books. SYSLM was a cute story, but is still no match for me and my love for the Simple Wild (oh hey, on a completely unrelated topic, THE SIMPLE WILD would make an amazing movie, so yeah, tell Netflix to get on that please!)
