Ellie is off to summer camp and what a trip it turns out to be! Ellie stumbles across a secret so big, she knows no one will believe her. She also knows she has to do the right thing, even if it's scary. The story is full of adventure, friendships, humor, and fun. It should appeal to everyone. A great read!
A very interesting read . Twists and turns to keep you engrossed. Wondering which way the author is going to take it. Nice and easy to read. Flows well. Enjoyable to read
Thank you to Vinspire Publishing and NetGalley for a digital ARC of this book.
Maybe it's because it was middle grade but I couldn't get into this book. The characters felt catty and unrelatable. I think that middle graders will enjoy this story about friendship and weird things that happen while away at camp.
ARC COpy...i like it was a coming of age story with supernatural elements...exploring wonders at the age is a delight however I would have liked the narrative to be a little longer in length so it doesn't feel short.
This book was short but it was so gripping that it kept me hooked the entire time, as I did read it quite quickly. It didn't only break up my other reads, but took them over by becoming my new read and only read at the time. It was written well and just made it so easy to read.
Like I said, it was quite short, being just over 100 pages, and it could've gone into the story a lot more if the author wanted to. But on saying that, it may have been because this book wasn't meant for my age group, it's just disappointing because I would've liked to have read more, because like I said, I did get a little hooked to the story and would've loved to have read more.
For a children's book, the main character Ellie, (Elenor) does do some questionable things for her age, which wouldn't all be good if the children reading this book, copied. She lies, breaks rules, wanders off into the forest by herself knowing that there's bears around that area... it goes further but too many spoilers, all under the belief she's doing the right thing. In the end it is sad.
