I must first say that I love the cover. It captivates you into wanting to know more about the story.
The plot was interesting. However, I felt as if the characters needed to be a bit more developed.
Overall the story was well written.
I find it hard to believe a bridal gown designer doesn't believe in love. Then why not design funeral outfits or anything else in a different industry. Also - I didn't really feel like Fredi was very likeable - could've been because she hated men so much.
I haven't read the other books in the series but that didn't stop me from enjoying this story.
Super quick sweet read to enjoy on a lazy Sunday morning
Fredi is a wedding dress designer who is cynical about love. She has watched as her three besties, Ava, Bonni and Celia met the men of their dreams and fell in love. It was not for her. She opens her mail and gets an invitation to her friend Bonni’s wedding in Monaco. She also finds out that she is being paired up in the wedding party with European actor Zayn Phoenix, a big screen heartthrob. Zayn has heard about Fredi and becomes interested in her. Before they actually meet, Zayn e-mails Fredi and gets to know her. Once they meet, a spark fires even though Fredi tries to put it out. But Zayn is on to her. He begins to woo her and soon she falls.
I really loved this book. This is the fourth book in the series and I am sorry to see it end. I loved all of the ladies. Their friendship resonates throughout the series as they navigate their relationships. The men are kind and loving as well as patient and take into consideration the friendship between the ladies. This is a great story. I look forward to more from this author.
Part 4 of a series. This was a very short story and I didn’t feel like I really got to know the characters well. Maybe if I’d read the previous 3 stories I’d feel differently, but this felt like an epilogue to her friends books, with a hastily put together romance tossed in. I just wanted a bit more Fredi and Zayn than I got here. Recommended to read the series as a whole.
This book is the third book in the girls weekend series, thus is Fredi and Zayn book. Fredi is a well known bridal gown designer she’s watched her three best friends fall madly in love but she’s certain that’s not for her! But that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun with the hot movie star, the one that just happens to be her assigned date for her best friends wedding in Monaco! Zayn is used to having women fall at his feet, he’s a movie star after all but he’s just captivated by Freddys quick wit and her refusal to be impressed by him and their chemistry is off the charts! This book was an OK read I have read all the books in the series and I’m not sure but this might be my last they’ve all been good reads and I’m not sure if I can pinpoint exactly what’s wrong with them or what I don’t like about them like I said they’re OK but there’s something missing I don’t know I’m not sure what it is LOL but I’m sure a lot of people are going to like these books and I can see that, but they’re just not for me. Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
The fourth book in this series, this is the story of Freid and Zayn. She doesn't believe in love, even though she makes wedding dresses for a living. He is a movie star who find her a refreshing change from the women throwing themselves at him.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.
Zayn is a famous rich actor and Fredi was to be escorted down the aisle for one her best friend’s Bonni and Quinn's wedding. Bonni gave Quinn Fredi’s number and he texted her saying so they could get to know each other. Fredi texted him don’t bother trying to sweep her off her feet because it wasn’t going to happen. Zayn texted that wasn’t the typical reaction he got. Fredi had made Bonni’s wedding gown. Fredi didn’t believe in love and Zayn than said he may have to raise to the challenge. Zayn texted where did the scorn for romance come from when she designs wedding dresses. Fredi texted you can’t trust the male species they let you down. Zayn and Fredi were still texting a week before the wedding Zayn texted and said he was glad he was meeting her in person. She admitted he grew on herThe bridal par6ty and family were staying at the chateau. Fredi was already at the chateau early to meet with the wedding planner. The other guests were staying at hotels in Monaco and Monte Carlo. It must have taken some super organization powers to get everything straight. Fredi was ruthlessly organized when it came to her boutique but preferred to be spontaneous when it came to the rest of her life.Bonni. Celia, Ava, and Fredi had been best friends since college. It had been eight months since the last weekend away the girls all had together. Zahn was picking her up and taking frdi for a drive. Talking for months through texts, video chats was different than the first physical meeting. Zayn stirred up unwelcomed feelings in Fredi. Zayn showed up and looked dashing in his car, like and old style moviestar, handsome, mysterious… His smile almost made Fredi melt into a puddle. Fredi was taken back by her heightened attraction to Zayn. There was no doubt she was very in time with him and planned on sleeping with him. She turned icy cold - her heart- during her parents divorce, as a teen trying to find love in all the wrong places and with all the wrong guys, she learned of heartbreak at sixteen and a couple more times before she swore off love at nineteen. Zayn thought Fredi was exquisite. He also fallen for her the more he got to know her. Fredi thought he was joking when he confessed his love for her. Fredi was wonderfully complicated and surprising and independant and difficult. He knew if she let herself Fredi would love with her whole heart and he wanted to be the man she loved. From day one she roused unexpected sensations in him, unlike anything he felt before. Most women these days were blinded by his celebrity and wealth and didn’t see the man he actually was. But fredi that was all she saw and it was intoxicating. When Fredi graduated from college she hadn’t planned on designing wedding dresses. She’d always been drawn to wearable art, really avante-garde type of things. Yet her first job had been for a tiny studio specializing in custom- made dresses and things had snowballed from there. Her friends had found it hilarious given Fredi’s well documented aversion to love, marriage and baby carriages. Her parents had fought constantly before their divorce, with cheating on both sides. Zayn was being romantic after the girls are there and fredi was kinda liking it. The last couple of days with Zayn made Fredi think that perhaps she would reconsider her thoughts on commitment.
I enjoyed this book alot. I really liked the plot and pace. I loved Fredi and Zayn together and how they interacted. I loved how close Fredi, Bonni, Celia, and Ava were. I really liked how romantic Zahn This is a fun romantic easy read. I enjoyed seeing Fredi get more involved with Zayn and how she changed and grew . I didn’t want to put this down. I liked how the author descriptions. I saw them in my mind’s eye. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it
A Match Made in Monaco by Shana Gray is Book 4 of the Girls Weekend Away series. While this book is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.
This is Fredi and Zayn’s story; a fabulously fun read that has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Very enjoyable and a great way to spend a lazy day!
Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.
Well written story that captures your attention from the beginning in vivid detail, the characters have wonderful chemistry too
I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
the last of the girls weekend away series, a match made in monaco has cynic/closet romantic fredi finding her one true love with hot actor zayn.
this is a pretty short read, at about half the length of the other books in the series. and the plot itself is kind of thin. basically fredi shows up early in monaco for her friend's destination wedding and zayn, the groomsman she's paired with shows up early too. they've been texting/sexting for months before this so consummate the sexual tension and learn it's so much more.
fredi is gun shy and zayn is a dreamboat. so really it's not hard to figure out how things work out. this was a perfectly enjoyable read, just don't look for depth as it's pretty insubstatial. which is perhaps all one needs to get their mind off their taxes, for example...
**a match made in monaco will publish on april, 15, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (amara) in exchange for my honest review.
Another amazing read by Shana Gray! This is Fredi and Zayn’s story. Can Fredi fall in love, Zane is working at it!
A Match made in Monaco by Shana Gray a five-star read that will make any weekend perfect. This is number four in the Girls Weekend away series, but they can be read as stand-alone, each one tells us the story of a different friend. Where will we go next? All four friends now have someone, I’m feeling bereft. Fredi is such a strong woman, any man would be lucky to have her, even if she doesn’t think she needs one. Zayn will sweep you up in the romance and have you dreaming of Monaco. If you like your romance sweet and funny, you won’t go wrong with this one. Shana Gray has a great way with words and will make you smile and dream of dresses and places far away.
This is the 4th installment in Shana Gray’s Girls Weekend Trip Series. Fredi, the sceptic and firecracker of the group has finally met her match. Zayn is a movie star and a friend of Quinn’s who falls for her the first time they are introduced. It’s another madcap couple of days when the final girlfriend takes the tumble and falls in love despite all her protestations against the state.
Fredi gets her happily-ever-after!
Fredi Cannon is meeting the girls in Monaco for Bonni’s destination wedding because she wouldn’t miss the wedding of one her best friends, especially after she designed the wedding dress. She’s paired with movie star Zayn Phoenix so Bonni gives him her phone number so they can get to know each other before the wedding date, they flirt by text as they get to know each other before meeting for the wedding,
Zayn is so used to people fawning over him so when Fredi doesn’t, it makes him very interested in her. Fredi has a hard time letting people into her heart other than her girlfriends that Zayn has an uphill battle making Fredi believe that he truly loves her and he doesn’t want to change her but that he loves her as she is.
A Match Made in Monaco is a great end to the Girls Weekend Away series by Shana Gray where all of the friends find their happily-ever-after with the perfect guy for them. The entire series is a fun contemporary romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is pure romance. It is a quick and fun read about a girl who doesn't believe in love and a guy who is bend upon romancing her. It is written in a fun way, where we see interactions between friends via text messages and then most of the story happens in Monaco. I really liked the setting of this story. It was good and I would definitely recommend it to romance lovers.
I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I just couldn’t get enough of it and didn’t want it to end. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
A Match Made in Monaco (Girls Weekend Away) was a super enjoyable book. This is the first Shana Gray book I've read and I'm impressed. I loved both Fredi and Zayn and their witty, laugh out loud back and forth banter. I'm really looking forward the next installment in the series. A definite 5 star book.
