I loved this book, I couldn't put it down! There are only a few reasons I didn't give it 5 stars, one being I think why they broke up was a little dramatic, but I guess anything is possible. Second, I feel like there was a story that was beginning, with the twins, especially Ava, and Gavin. I understand there are moments that kids cling to one parent over the other, but it felt like there was something there that never got explored.
I loved the sister bond that Thea and Liv had with each other. Liv's character is everything and I hope we get more from her perspective in the future. I feel a Liv & Mack meet up might be interesting to see.
I was caught off-guard by how steamy this book suddenly became. Obviously, we know what the characters want to happen eventually, but boy did it go from 0-90 in less than a paragraph. :)
I think this is a great book for anyone who wants a cute story and a little bit of steaminess. I'll be looking forward to future books, especially if this becomes a series.

Finally! This book broke me out of my reading slump. Great, original premise and a fun, fresh author voice. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

This was totally adequate. The problems standing between the couple felt realistic and important, while not painting either party as 100% angel or villain, the plot required adult communication, the setting was fun but but but contemporary romance imo is the hardest genre to pull off and this was fine but not spectacular. I liked the conceit but nothing about the Gavin and Thea and their problems impacted me emotionally.

A solid 4.5. The concept of the men's book club worked really well and was absolutely charming. I haven't seen many marriage in trouble romances, so this was a nice change of pace. Can't wait for book 2!

Gavin wants to win back his wife by any means. Therefore, when his teammates adopt him into their bromance book club, he starts reading right away. "The Bromance Book Club" uses romance novels as a guideline for fixing Gavin's relationship. Humor, heartbreak, and heated scenes await you.

This book was not for me. I absolutely loved the beginning and the premise. The men were hilarious and I adored their devotion to the women in their lives and doing whatever it takes to deserve them. However, I had a big problem with the heroine. While it takes two people to make a relationship and blame is rarely 100% one-sided, I had major issues with the fact that she lied to her husband for the entirety of her marriage and he is now solely to blame for the demise of their relationship and now he has to win her back. It made very little sense to me how he's the bad guy and is supposed to mind read her inner thoughts. Wanted to love this book and it makes me sad the conflict was based so much on her lack of communication and desire for her husband to know every nuance of her life and day without her telling him anything. I can't say I won't try the second book in hopes the relationship drama is a bit more understandable. Thank you for this review book even if it didn't work in my favor.

After a lot of really heavy nonfiction in my reading diet, The Bromance Book Club was just the right thing to raise my spirits and warm my heart. I had seen the cover everywhere, including a NetGalley eblast in my inbox, and was so thrilled I took a chance based on a cute cover. The story opens with Gavin and Thea's marriage on the rocks after Gavin finds out that Thea has been...errr... less than honest about how much she has been enjoying her husband. And Gavin reacts extremely poorly when he finds out. So, to save his marriage, his friends invite him into their cabal of men who read romances to help them become better partners to the women in their lives

The Bromance Book Club hinges on the idea that reading romance is a good way to find out what women want. So, they give Gavin a regency romance to give him clues about how to earn his wife's trust and pique her interest.

I loved reading Gavin and his friends talking amongst themselves about how to become better listeners and lovers, and undoing their assumptions about the gendered division of labor - emotional labor and otherwise. And Bromance Book Club struck a really fun balance between poking fun at some of the conventions of a romance novel, while still doing those conventions. If you like the way that Jane the Virgin is both a sendup of a telenovela and a telenovela, you'll love The Bromance Book Club.

I really wanted to like this book. The premise is great. The writing irked me. I disliked the characters.

An all-male secret book club reading romance novels and helping one another with their relationships is so fun but the execution was lackluster.

Gavin barks and growls more than their dog. He was bland, and rude, and entitled. Thea is so hard to read, and even after finishing the book I didn't find her story-line redeeming at all. I had no connection to them as main characters, I was just waiting for the predictable HEA ending so I could be done with this. I am not against swearing in a book, but the F word is basically every fifth word which really begs for some different descriptive words.

Thank you to Netgalley for the copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

I really enjoyed this book. Gavin and Thea had a ton of problems caused by miscommunication. They also each had their own issues to work through so that they could be better together. I'm excited for the next book in the series!

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group for the advanced eBook to read! I thought this book was great! It's not only hilarious but uplifting. I love Lyssa's writing from the different perspectives of both the husband, Gavin, and wife - Thea about their ups and downs and resolving their marital problems. The interactions of the Bromance Book Club were hilarious as well. To see men overcome their ego of reading romance books and even knowing the different types of time periods. The writing was witty and charming. You felt for both Gavin and Thea Scott. The writing wasn't trashy and kept you involved in the story and what was happening between everyone. The scenes with Gavin and Braden Mack were hysterical. I also enjoyed the occasional glimpse of the book the book club read. I would read snippets of the book to not only my coworkers but to my husband who thought it was hilarious. I highly recommended this book to lovers of romance, newcomers to the genres, and even men!

The Bromance Book Club is a laugh-out-loud, fun and easy read that will definitely have you reading “just one more chapter”. Gavin is having major problems in his love life when he gets help & advice from a very unlikely source. What ensues is a hilarious yet emotional journey into forgiveness and patching up a relationship. I really enjoyed the dialogue between characters and the excerpts from the parallel romance novel.

This was a fun, fast read.
What I loved: This went above my expectations. I thought I had it all figured out from at the beginning, but I did not!
What I liked: This was an interesting spin on romance reading!
What I hated: In the beginning, I hated Thea. Then I hated her sister. In the end, I saw the beauty in all the characters, but still only marginally liked the sister. :-)

Just a good fun read! A perfect recommendation for romance readers!

The first rule of book club:
You don't talk about book club
Gavin is a MLB player who thinks he has it all together until his wife breaks it to him that she has been faking it in bed. When she asks him a divorce he decide to turn things around .... insert bookclub.
This is the greatest concept I have read in a long time. A bunch of guys getting together to talk about romance books and how they relate to life? Where do I sign my husband up. Thea irratated me at different points but I still felt this book was a great new spin on romance in marriage. Loved it!!

Literally laugh out loud funny but also sweet and sincere. Marriage is hard work and it would be great if all guys had this level of support.

This romantic novel focuses on the relationship between Galvin and Thea. He recently found out his wife had been faking it in the bedroom, which shocks and angers him but also has him wondering what else could she be faking in their lives. With their marriage on the rocks, Galvin will do anything to save it, even joining a romance book club.

I was initially drawn to the novel by the premise of a men’s romance book club, I thought it’d be interesting to read their takes on the genre. And we do hear some of it, but mostly the novel focuses on the relationship of Galvin with this wife and family.

Overall, it’s a humorous, lighthearted romance. I recommend it to readers of contemporary fiction and romance (of course!).

This is one of the best marriage in trouble books I have ever read. Both Gavin and Thea have a lot to sort out about their fears for their marriage and themselves before they can truly reconcile. They really have to work for it and this is much more than needing to have an honest conversation. They have to build up trust and be honest with each other.

The Bromance Book Club is both sweet and bittersweet at times. Thea is done with putting herself last in all things and her sister Liv is cheering her on as she tries to rebuild a life with going back to school and pursuing her own dreams. Gavin is aghast that the life he's been obliviously enjoying without noticing she is faking everything about it except for her love for their daughters.

The Bromance Book Club group is great. They really try to help Gavin get things together and actually listen to Thea and build trust with her again. It's not about the wooing, it's about committing and trusting. I loved their scenes, and Gavin reading a romance novel as he muddles his way through moving back in temporarily and trying to start over with Thea. The pacing is great between Gavin and Thea, their scenes with their support networks, and the novel (the title, hilariously, keeps changing) that Gavin is gaining life lessons from. I really liked that Gavin wasn't this cocky, alpha baseball player that was in this to win it because of ego. He's more of a quiet guy who is really struggling with how clueless he was and how it affects his self-esteem.

Contemporary readers will love this marriage being rebuilt romance. I couldn't put it down once I started and I can't wait to see what the Bromance Book Club reads next!

THIS BOOK IS GENIUS. Genius I tell you. A group of macho guys getting together READING ROMANCE NOVELS, helping each other fix their relationships?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? I loved every. single. aspect. Of this damn thing. Like I want this to be a really, really great review but I think it’s going to end up being one of those where I flail around like a crazy person because I am so in love. Like everything about this entire book was PERFECT. EVERYTHING.

Like at one point, when the main character, Gavin, is being initiated into the group, one of his friends is telling him why they read romances and that women LOVE reading them and secretly want that kind of stuff in their life. Gavin denies that his wife, Thea likes them because she doesn’t have any around the house. His friend saying something along the lines of “does she have an e-reader? I guarantee you that thing is full of romance novels.” HAHAH I FELT PERSONALLY ATTACKED. I have so much smut on my Kindle that it’s not even funny.

But in all seriousness, other than me loving the funny of a bromance book club in general, this book had a lot of important things you don’t see in every day romance. #1 it had a couple working to fix their relationship on the brink of a divorce. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like that before. #2 Gavin had a stutter and it came out during every day conversation and was just a normal thing. There were several things brought up about it (him tell Thea he had been teased about it in high school, Thea bitching a woman out for being incredibly rude about it, him saying that one of the reasons he fell in love with Thea was because she never acted weird around him for it, never interrupted him, etc.) and again, I’ve read books where character have had stutters in the past but have worked past them so that it only comes out when they’re nervous or something. This was just a part of Gavin and I just loved it. Just one more book that people can relate to in a world where so many characters are too perfect.

There was the tiny, temporary fall out in the end but I think it was really necessary to their overall story and to Thea’s healing and self-discovery. The ending was perfect in every way and I seriously hope this series is a million books long because I will CHERISH EVERY ONE. Seriously, if you guys don’t go out and read this when it comes out, you’re all nuts!!! Lol, but really.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Berkley books for allowing me to read an eARC in exchange for an honest review!♥

This is a very good marriage in trouble story. The Bromance Book Club plot is well-handled and there is lots of charming stuff with those guys that made me laugh.

I have some complicated feelings about the way the sex stuff plays out--mostly that someone not coming for three years isn't going to get magically fixed, but sure. He's paying more attention to her and that's nice.

I liked that they have to really become honest with each other and themselves. It's very well done.

I read the description and knew I needed to read this. It was everything I never knew I needed. A bromance book club where guys read romance novels to help with their relationships?? Sign. Me. UP!!

Going in, I will admit I was worried I had built it up too much in my head and I wouldn’t end up liking it as much as I had hoped I would. Thankfully, it was everything I wanted and more. I ended up completely and fully loving it.

This book was great. Well and truly great. I read one page and didn’t put it down until I was done. It hooked me fast and it hooked me hard.

Endlessly witty, completely endearing, and exceptionally written. I can’t wait for book 2!
