The synopsis alone got me and the story kept me UP ALL NIGHT reading!

What a cute concept.  There are lots of women who wish their partners would read romance, see what we see, feel what we feel but this book wasn't just about the sex or the romance but about the "back story"!

Gavin, a major league baseball player and his wife Thea have hit a rough patch. Their marriage is in peril and Gavin isn't ready to give up. 

Their relationship has been a whirlwind.  Dating for a few months, married and pregnant (with twins nonetheless) and with Gavin making the big league's life just began...a few years later and their marriage is in jeopardy.  

In comes the Bromance Book Club; a motley crew of other movers and shakers in the Nashville area.  Gavin's teammates, other professional athletes, and government offices and Mack!  Oh, Mack...I need a book about Mack, Lyssa Kay Adams! These men have been where Gavin had been and have found a way to fix their marriages by reading romance.  Yes, the laughs begin when these boys are together.

This book isn't all fun and games, it's hard work for Gavin to convince Thea to give him another chance.  Using the "techniques" he learns from the romance book and guidance of his friends - Gavin goes all in. 

I read this book in less than 2 days. Lyssa Kay Adams hit it out of the park with this story and I loved every page.

This was such an adorable read! I love how different the point of view was to see from a mans perspective of wanting to renew his love for his partner. We usually only see this from a woman’s eyes when men are just as capable of wanting things to be better. This love story was all the better for already having a love and wanting to better that love. Endearing and enchanting, this book is sure to capture your heart and attention!

This book is super fluffy and absolutely perfect for when you need tooth-rotting sweetness in book form. It does get smutty so do be aware of that but otherwise be prepared for fluff with just a touch of angst. I really enjoyed the chapters that were written as though they were the regency romance the character is reading. I don't read much regency myself but it was a clever way to show what the character was learning and to mirror the story happening in the present. Overall this is a solid, fun romance read.

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it mentioned some important concepts (classic princess movies sending unhealthy messages to young girls, girls being smart enough to consume and enjoy media without actually wanting to live out the story, media that is enjoyed by women automatically being something to ridicule, etc.) but only gave each a few sentences. I get that wasn't really the focus of this book but I still would have liked more. It was like it was really only talking to people who already know this stuff and agree. It won't change anyone's mind who still needs to hear it.

Not exactly a debut novel, but definitely a new, and fresh take on a second chance romance. A unique story with an engaging plot, The Bromance Book Club was a solid performance by the author.

Who doesn't like a second chance love story. Especially if the couple is married, with kids and the husband is fighting for another chance. I really have been enjoying this trope lately. A romance about a married couple adds another layer to a second chance story. Clearly there is more on the line, including family and kids. And the twist of all things - the big O - really made this book a hell of a fresh take on romance, and a very relatable too. I've never seen an author pick up this storyline and I can only compliment her for doing so.

Overall there is so much to say about Gavin. I loved Gavin's unwillingness to give up, to fight for his marriage and family, even if the way he went about was outside of his comfort zone. And he wasn't always the best student either, but he clearly cared about the outcome, so I forgive him for any mishaps - because there were a couple. Also he was a bit clueless, especially in bed, which was a bit worrying. But it helped that there was without any doubt still feelings between the couple. It just took time to peel away all the hurt feelings on both sides, and to get to the matter at hand - the big O, or in this instance the missing of an O.

Thea was maybe not an outstanding, or incredibly unique heroine, but she was trying. I wouldn't say that I connected with her overly much, but I also didn't dislike her. Let's just say that there weren't any deep feelings on my part either way.

Besides it being a tender and heartwarming story, the bookclub part was hilarious.

I wish more guys would start a romance book club, and of course I would want to be the fly on the wall because it would be entertaining as hell.

Although some predictability throughout the book prevents me from giving it a higher rating, all in all, from written style to plotting this novel should be on everyone's reading list.

I hope a certain overly charming athlete, Mack, is getting a book next, because he was hilarious. And he was definitely my favorite supporting character in this book.

Hi yes, you see that person on the floor? Yeah that is me, I swooned! The Bromance Book Club was SO GOOD! First of all, I love the title, and the concept? GREAT! When I first stumbled across this book I saw the cover and title and was immediately like YES! But then I read what is was about and I. Was. HOOKED. I mean, a guy who joins a book club of macho hot guys who read romance novels to try and better their relationships with their wives/girlfriends? SIGN ME UP! Gavin and Thea's story was so romantic and emotional, I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of it.

Although I really liked this book, I really wished the author dove more into Thea's dream of becoming an artist and going back to school after finally deciding to take her life back after having twins and a troubled marriage with Gavin. A large part of this book was about why Thea felt that she needed to divorce Gavin to finally get her life back on track and to stop feeling like a stranger in her marriage and life, so I felt that the author could have highlighted that more. I know this book is a romance and of course, the love between Thea and Gavin is important but I also think that this book is about second chances for both of the characters. I would have loved a little more on that, but overall I was satisfied with the story. Gavin and Thea's chemistry was amazing (and HOT)!!! Hence my swooning. The author did a great job emphasizing both of their feelings of love (and lust) for each other while balancing all of the issues and problems that they were having in their lives. Sometimes even though people love each other in a marriage, there are other things that are needed to keep a relationship afloat and Lyssa Kay Adams did a great job showing that struggle with this couple.

As for the "Bromance Book Club" itself? HILAROUS! The members were so funny with their banter and discussions about the book "Courting the Countess", and their advice to Gavin on how he should win his wife back. DON"T GET ME STARTED ON THE RUSSIAN. They all had me laughing out loud more than once!

I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow romance lovers. I hope this author will continue to write more about the Bromance Book Club, because I will 100% be following along. A great summer read for sure.

This was a so fun. I loved the perspective of the guys in this. I found Thea and her sister incredibly frustrating but Thea redeemed herself in the end. It was a quick read and I would definitely recommend it! Nice to see the tables turned!

Absolutely charming! I read this book in a day and a half.
I liked the realness of the characters, the realness of the problems, most importantly the realness of the male relationships. Ms. Adams showed that male friendships could be supportive and vulnerable without the stereotypical, macho stuff. I loved the book within a book effect...so clever.
This story was fresh, fun, and sexy.

HE WAS A DIFFERENT MAN THAN HE’D BEEN BEFORE BOOK CLUB. HE RECOGNIZED HIS OWN FAULTS AND SHORTCOMINGS.

This is hands down the funniest book I’ve read this year. Out of the 29 novels, it’s the only one that made me laugh out loud in the car while my big brothers were having a moment of comfortable silence. I rarely read New Adult fiction, but witty and hilarious stories like this might change that fact.

The Bromance Book Club is about Gavin, an outstanding baseball player. On the night of his Grand Slam, he discovers that his wife, Thea, has been unhappy with their marriage. Gavin doesn’t want to lose her, so he seeks the help of his teammates, who happen to be part of a secret book club for men with marital problems. Gavin is dumbfounded when his friends claim that he can win Thea back by reading romance novels. Since such books are usually written by females, they can teach men how to interact with women better. Sounds logical, eh? I want to include Song of Solomon on their reading list (because the Bible is an excellent guide to married life), but I digress. xD

I loved the premise of this book. The idea of a “bookish jock” seems so contradictory, so it’s great that the author played with this stereotype. Indeed, it’s challenging to strike a balance between books and athletics, but it’s possible if you’re diligent—or in Gavin’s case, desperate—enough. I’m a bookworm who dislikes most sports (sweating in general), so I couldn’t help but enjoy the twisted plot. It was fun (and a bit inspiring) to read about macho men immersing themselves in the world of literature (brawn + brains). Ugh, if my family sees this review, they might point out my thin figure once again and encourage me to exercise. :p

As expected, Gavin and Thea played the blaming game. Both of them were at fault, but I thought that Gavin was more accountable. His pride got in the way, making him detach himself from Thea for several weeks or months. This might surprise you, but I sympathized with their plight. I’m familiar with the feeling of wanting someone to apologize first. Also, let’s just say that I know some couples who have/had the same problem. Why can’t we just practice humility and initiate reconciliation before our relationships become too damaged to mend?

Thea wasn’t so innocent, either. She let her troubled childhood (e.g., her feelings of abandonment) dictate her opinion of her husband. It came to the point that she doubted Gavin’s sincerity and resigned herself to having a broken family. To make things worse, her twin sister Liv insisted that Gavin was an irredeemable jerk. It sucked that she had to play devil’s advocate. The final argument in the book was her fault, and I was like, “Shut up, lady, you’re not helpin’!”

I didn’t like Gavin and Thea whenever they fought, but I loved them whenever they collaborated to make their twin daughters happy. The kids’ antics were mostly endearing, and my affection for them didn’t falter even when one of them puked on Gavin after eating too much pie. And just so you know, their pet dog ate some of the vomit. Haha. Nonetheless, this book failed to eliminate my dislike for real children. I feel so irritated when I hear babies cry in public places. :l

As a whole, The Bromance Book Club is anything but a shallow rom-com. It reminded me that marriage requires a lot of work and that you shouldn’t give up on your spouse even if he or she seems like a gift from the Underworld sometimes. “Till death do us part,” remember? If you weren’t prepared to fulfill such a promise, then you shouldn’t have gotten married in the first place.

This was the best romance I've read in a long time! It had everything - great characters with incredible chemistry, humor, and heart. I loved that the answers weren't easy for the main couple and that they had to work for their HEA. And, the book club itself - AMAZING! Hearing guys talking like they actually care and get it was wonderful. I'll be reading everything on Lyssa Kay Adams' backlist and will look forward to her future books.

I didn't know what to expect with The Bromance Book Club - I was a little worried it would be cheesy or that there would be too much baseball. But I really, really liked it - it was smart, funny, and featured compelling, well rounded characters. Baseball player Gavin is devastated when his wife Thea asks him for a divorce. To help him his friends induct him into their secret romance book club, in which they read romance novels in order to better understand what the women in their lives want. (As a bonus, we get to read excerpts of the book assigned to Gavin.) Gavin is resistant to his friends' help, but realizes he needs to do something to get Thea back. Gavin and his friends were so funny but also truly supportive of each other. I also really enjoyed Thea's struggle with fitting in with the other baseball players' wives (Alexa Martin, who has first hand experience, has written a lot about this as well). Thea also has a great relationship with her sister (who I'm hoping is the heroine of the next book!). I'm not usually a second chance romance person, but I really enjoyed this one - Gavin really worked to understand Thea, and was very supportive of her goals. Highly recommended!

I squealed when I saw this land on my kindle and knew I had to pick it up right away! I flew through this so fast, I couldn’t get enough of seeing what was going to happen between Gavin and Thea! It’s hilarious, sweet, angsty and full of great characters. I knew I had to read this as soon as I read what it was about and it didn’t disappoint.

It’s about a Major League Baseball trying to save his 3 year marriage with his wife by joining a book club where they all read and study romance novels. They fell in love and dates for a few months before Thea got pregnant and they quickly got married, and Gavin being a baseball player was gone for significant moments in their life together. This causes them to grow apart but when Thea tells Gavin, who thought everything was fine, that she wants a divorce, Gavin is heartbroken and will do anything for fight for his marriage and not lose the love of his life. His friends have him join their “bromance” book club and the book alternates a few times between our mains storyline and a regency romance novel that Gavin is studying to help him get his marriage back on track.

Let me just tell you all that this book is every bit as hilarious and witty as it sounds. It’s such a great idea and that cover is gorgeous! This had so many laugh out loud moments and moments where I was just nodding my head in understanding when they would all talk about romance! It was hysterical! I loved how all the guys were there for Gavin and although he was such a guy in the beginning, I really enjoyed his development and watching how reading romance novels helped him better understand woman. I loved the whole “grand gesture” and how “backstory” is everything. I loved all the ways they intertwined romance novels into this actual romance novel. It made it feel all the more realistic and fun to read. It was a very clever concept and it hit the intended mark perfectly!

Don’t get me wrong though, this book does have its angsty and serious moments which I really appreciated. Gavin and Thea are both flawed characters who need to learn how to understand one another and let go of the past. They have a lot of serious problems in their marriage and it was nice watching them tackle it head on. I liked watching Gavin fight for Thea and I was rooting for these two the whole time.

I also really loved all the side characters! I loved ALL the men in the bromance book club and I’m dying for Mack’s book, please tell me it’s happening? I think everyone’s gonna fall in love with that mans charisma and I already see some sparks happening between him and Liv! I’m so excited for everyone to read this when it comes out in November, it’s the PERFECT book for the holidays!! It’s definitely got some of that Christmas magic!

This second chance romance, told in a unique way, had me hooked from the start. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down, and if I did, it was always on my mind.

I really enjoyed the parallels between our main story with Gavin and Thea’s relationship and romance book Gavin read, Courting a Countess, with Lord Tight Pants Benedict and Ireana. Also getting both perspectives from both Gavin and Thea were great to read and to see how they both felt going through everything.

Now the boys in the club are hilarious and so much fun, would love to see more of this group especially Mack, I’ll read his story! All the advice they gave, along with some cheeky flirting lessons were so much fun to read.
Also, Gavin’s stutter was beautiful and I love it. This was such a great read and can’t wait to get my hands on my own copy!

THIS BOOK! This is the kind of book where I was laughing out loud while I read and my husband looked at me like I was a lunatic. Gavin's marriage is in the toilet and his wife Thea has just asked for a divorce. They've been married for a couple of years, had two daughters, and Gavin's life pretty much revolves around his baseball career. Due to the stress of their lives, they've grown apart, so the story begins with Gavin at rock bottom. His friends/teammates decide to help him out by inviting him to their exclusive Bromance book club, where they read romance novels in order to understand women better. Gavin is skeptical at first, but he quickly realizes that beneath all the regency clothing and bodice ripping, there are lessons in romance novels that can help him be a better husband. This book was so funny, and if you are a romance reader, you'll love the members of the Bromance Book Club defending romance novels with arguments you've probably said yourself a bunch of times. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this novel. I love the idea that it was a group of bros reading romance novels. Something that is always stereotypical feminine. I love the fact that it was the husband who was trying everything he can to save his marriage. It also showed a great support system that the men have. I enjoyed this view and idea. Especially in contemporary romance! Overall, it was a good book.

Gavin and Thea are struggling in their marriage. Gavin is determined to save his marriage and with the support of his "bros" and some historical romance he courts his wife. At the surface, this was very fluffy and sweet, but there was a realness to it that took it to the next level. A quick read well worth the effort!

I adored this book! ADORED. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. This was a super charming second chance/redemption romance between a married couple with such a fun and unique premise. I hope this is the first in a new series as I loved all the side characters in the book club and want to hear their stories next! I can't wait to recommend this to everyone I know!

I loved everything about this book! This was a newer twist on our classic romance novel, with the men being the main focus! Gavin messed up big time when he decided to give his wife the silent treatment after finding out her secret...that she's been faking it their entire marriage! Oops. I love the way that Gavin's teammates come together to help him with their "Bromance Club." Absolutely an adorable idea. Cute and quirky, this is a must read!

My only frustrations with this book was their daughters. They were only supposed to be 3 years old, but they acted and talked like they were at least 5. Would it have hurt to make the marriage (and therefore their children) 5 instead of 3? It just would have made more sense.

Other than that MINOR detail, I absolutely adored this book and will definitely be reading more by Lyssa Kay Adams.

This book was fascinating! I was intrigued by a story that details men reading romance novels. The premise is amazing. I enjoyed the book and found it both tender and funny at times. It was very REAL, with the main characters' marital troubles something that so many people can relate to, especially after kids. It isn't your typical romance, with our hero and heroine already married with kids and still not finding their happily ever after yet. I really liked it, a sweet story. Some of the marital fights made me all chock full of anxiety....I hate to read about that!! But it was done very well. Bravo.

This book is a nice twist on the normal romance novel. I loved that the men in the novel were reading and learning from romance novels. I loved the inclusion of the word feminism and that the men seemed to be comfortable with expressing their feminist ideals. I liked that the male characters were dedicated to their wives. The sexy bits were good too. I would recommend this to my friends who are into the genre.

I absolutely loved every minute of this book! The Bromance Book Club is unique and fresh. It made me laugh out loud but is also really emotional. I think every man should read some romance and I am definitely gonna to get my husband to read this one. Adams really hit this one out of the park and I can’t wait to read her next book (... which should totally be about Mack!)
