The Bromance Book Club‘s book blurb grabbed me from the moment the publisher sent it to me.

I loved Gavin…the hero in this book clearly loves his wife and wants his marriage to work!

I spent most of the book hating the heroine…so the author did make me feel.. but for so much of the story I did not understand her.. it really felt like she was holding back or pulling away. The backstory did put much of that in perspective but personally it was tough to watch a woman literally destroy her marriage.

The blurb for this one is awesome and the premise was adorable….she lied… yes she lied in the bedroom but it is still a lie.. and I just didn’t think it was surprise that it would shake a marriage to it’s core. She needed to own that for me.. not blame him… Your happy is your job if you don’t share that with those you love how the heck (I want to use another 4 letter word but it would likely result in the review being taken down) can you expect to be happy!

I adored the man who surrounded and supported Gavin and I am soooo excited that Braden Mack is getting a happy in Undercover Bromance.

I loved finding new to me authors! So thank you to Berkley Romance and suggesting I read this one!

The Bromance Book Club is the romance novel you never knew you needed. Men reading romance novels and following the steps to woo back the ladies in their lives is one of the best recent romance releases. I loved reading about this group of male friends who support each other and take an active role in each other's lives. It was so refreshing to see masculinity presented as something that can include emotions and love. This book is perfect for anyone who feels like they've read all the romance novels out there. It's a refreshing take on a beloved genre.

A high concept premise, loved the sly inside jokes about romance novels. I don't personally love the man's POV the whole time so sometimes it was hard for me to relate. A good easy read.

THE BROMANCE BOOK CLUB - this book was a breath of fresh air. Do men really have book clubs where they read regency romances because I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall for that! This is a delightful, feel-good romance about repairing a marriage, the nuances of romance and dabbles in baseball professionals, feminism and parenthood.

Okay, not sure why I haven't written a proper review for this yet. Sorry!

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams hit me with a storm. So much so, that almost a year later, I've read and listen to this title a numerous amount of times. The quick and dirty:

1) Hilarious
2) Heart felt
3) Sexy - Can't stress this enough.
4) Engaging
5) "Can't get enough of" - Because I read this in one sitting

I was in it from the first few pages. The heartbreak of a breakup is fast and hard-hitting, and to see it so quick in the beginning took me back. But then the details began to unfold, and famous athlete, Gavin Scott turned to his teammates and friends. That's when it first really hit me.

This book is different, and I was all in.

The story of Gavin and his wife, Thea is one that I loved, loved, loved. Not only was it real, the chemistry between these two were spectacular. Their problems of communication, growth, and just normal "married life"-isms were so easy to relate to regardless if you were married or not.

But Thea? God, that woman has my heart. To feel all the things she felt: getting lost in the shadow of your husband, your kids, your new life? I was there, 100%.

But that's not even the icing OR cherry on top. My favorite part of this novel is the Bromance Book Club themselves. We have a group of men who are strong enough in their own beings that they use any tools necessary to fix their own relationships, and are not afraid to discuss with other men of their stature. Not only is it all amazing, their shenanigans and antics is hilarious.

This was an instant love for me, and I looooved every moment of my initial read, as well as all of my rereads!

The Bromance Book Club is a primer on romance writing and reading. The story line is so fun, the characters are deeply relatable, and the meta romance structure is the stuff of romance nerdgasms. I loved it.

If you know me any at all then you probably know that I’m a sucker for a good rom-com, and I’m always on the lookout for new ones. The moment that I discovered The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams, I knew I would have to check out the book. I am SO glad that I did!!

The Bromance Book Club is exactly what I am looking for in contemporary romance novels. With the world being the way that it is right now, I am just looking for a little escape from the madness, and that’s exactly what I got from this book. The storyline is super cute, but also touches on so many things that are relevant at the moment. I love the idea of guys having a book club and reading romance novels, discussing how to better treat their women. (Can this be a real thing, please?!) I definitely need more books like this in my life, asap! (And yes, I will be over here anxiously awaiting the sequel for this book.)

Another thing that I loved about this book were the characters. There are SO many characters! The story is told from alternate viewpoints between the main character, Gavin, and his wife, Thea. (I love books that do this, as we get to see all the sides to the story!) Both of these characters were interesting, and both had SO much character growth over the course of the story. Watching their relationship change and grow was definitely interesting. There are also some really great secondary characters in the story as well. I LOVE all the guys that are in the book club. Seriously, SO much love for these men! Are they perfect? No. But they are trying to be better, and that’s awesome. Also, I love how supportive they were for each other. Seriously, this needs to be a thing!

Overall; I really, really enjoyed The Bromance Book Club, so much more than I expected to! This book has a great storyline, lots of cute characters, and lots of steamy romance as well. It’s basically everything I look for in a rom-com, I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on the sequel, Undercover Bromance, which is currently set to release March 10th, 2020! Pick up a copy of The Bromance Book Club in stores this week, and I hope you love it as much as I did!

Happy Reading!

I ended up really liking this one! It was sweet and fun and romantic. I enjoyed the fact that it was an already established couple trying to make their way back to each other rather than a new couple trying to form. I loved all the cute family moments with their twin daughters. I loved that it was steamy but not overly so. I just think this is a fantastic, light-hearted romance and I’d recommend it to everyone.

I absolutely loved this book! When I heard of the premise for this book, I was hooked, and the actual thing did not disappoint. This book was laugh out loud funny, sexy, had great friendships, family...disfunctional and loving, and adorable toddlers! What more could you want?

Gavin Scott is a major league ball player with marriage problems. His teammates come to his rescue, weather he likes it or not. They have a Club, a book club that is. And they learn about relationships from women's romance novels. If Gavin knows what's good for him, he will read the book, and listen to them. He is desperate to keep his wife, so he agrees.

You won't be sorry! Read this book!

I've seen so many great reviews on The Bromance Book Club I decided I must read it! I had the eARC from Berkley and the audio from the library which I combined to read it. I do think the narration is always a plus for banter and adds to the emotional experience.

I seem to be reading many more books on this topic - saving a marriage - than ever before. While all couples have different backgrounds, hot buttons and emotional issues, there is an overwhelming fact -- communication is critical.

I didn't especially like Gavin or Thea, the main couple in this romance. Thea chose to not communicate and just go along with things, which is an error of omission, but still a lie. An intimate, primary relationship suffers greatly with this choice. Gavin was on the road and building his career and didn't pay attention to things at home. I was especially disturbed how he was not closer to his daughters.

Bromances are a complete joy and guys reading romance is a hoot! I found the author's interweaving of a historical romance to be clever and hilarious. It took some courage to read and utilize the perspectives found there. Reading is a key to seeing different perspectives and can help develop empathy to other situations.

I did really appreciate Gavin's efforts. BUT since he was off season, I would have really liked to see him do some cleaning around the house! But since we didn't see Thea cleaning all the time either, maybe they had help, as they could afford it. I loved when he spent time with the daughters so Thea could take a breather.

I enjoyed the journey and growth of this couple and will be very interested to see what else happens in this bromance world. Next up is The Undercover Bromance.

The Book: The Bromance Book Club

The Author: Lyssa Kay Adams

The Sub-Genre: Contemporary

Why You’ll Love It: A book about a group of bros who start a romance book club to help each other save their marriages, what’s not to love? I was a little skeptical about this one, mostly because I wasn’t sure how swoony things could get between a married couple with kids. I can now confidently admit that I was WRONG. Gavin and Thea working through their issues with an assist from a Regency romance novel was way hotter than I expected it to be. Despite a few flimsy plot points, this book was sexy and hilarious. I laughed out loud at the men talking about “finding her emotional G-spot” and their own version of a Swoonworthy Score: Book Boner ratings.

First of all, I am super confused about their two children. I'm relatively sure based on the timeline in the book that they got married 3 years ago and she was pregnant at the time. Which would make the twins MAYBE 2.5 years old. But they go to school? 2.5 year olds don't go to school. I mean, even pre-school, you generally have to be at least 3 and potty trained and these girls are definitely not 3. Although their vocabularies are probably of 4 year olds. SO this was a big problem for me apparently.

Second, all the secondary characters. All the men in the book club were really just caricatures for the most part and mostly they were pretty annoying.

I really liked the IDEA. A men's book club to read romance novels? Fun! I would love to be a fly on the wall for those discussions. But it didn't read very true to life for the most part and was also mostly used as a plot device.

Still, if there is a book about Braden Mack and the sister, I might be interested in reading that.

Thanks to the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

While I enjoyed this one, I liked the sequel much more!

I love the idea of manly men secretly loving romance novels and reading them and discussing them. I love how this breaks down those barriers!

I also think the covers are fantastic and eye-catching.

I didn't always like Thea's reactions to Gavin and the way she didn't give him chances when he was trying so hard. For me personally, it was too much drama at times. And I didn't think I was going to like Liv because of some of the stuff from this book, but I LOVED her so much in the new book!

I hope there are more books in this series. I am looking forward to handselling these at work!

This book was surprising in its use of advanced literary analysis to use romance novels as tools for men to open up about their feelings, and I absolutely adored that. There were parallels between the assigned novel (from this underground book club) and the pairing in this book, and it just proved that you can learn about yourself through what you consume.

Light and fluffy romance, perfect for so many of my new adult and teen romance lovers, I look forward to reading more from this author in the future! Highly recommend.

What a delightful book that actually lived up to the hype. I had such a good time with these characters! I also enjoyed the whole set up of a failing relationship and falling in love again. Give me more of this, please!

I really loved this book! I found it really interesting and unique that they're not just reading books in the book, but that there are actual chapters of the book they're reading mixed in. I love stories where there are rocky relationships and characters have to get over obstacles, so this one really hit the spot! Can't wait to read more of Lyssa Kay Adams! I always feel like Peter from Family Guy when books mention the name of the book in the dialogue, so I definitely had a Family Guy moment when they came up with the bookclub name.

Adorable! I absolutely loved this book. It was so much fun to read romance from the male perspective. The banter between the guys was hysterical. I had so much fun with this one ❤️

Some of the most fun I've had with a book in quite some time. The premise was interesting and the execution unique. I loved the honest exploration of a marriage in trouble, and the feelings of a man unwilling to give up on true love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cast of characters as well and can't wait to read more in this series.

When Gavins marriage ends up on the rocks the Bromance Book Club comes to his aide. While reading romance novels him and his friends learn the ways of woman. What they truly want, how they think and how to woo them. He enters in a deal with his wife that he can win her back by Christmas and the real romance begins.
