I received an eARC from NetGalley. Abby’a doctor tells her she is two months pregnant. But how can that be true? She hasn’t had sex in a year. However, multiple tests confirm she is indeed pregnant, and the only night she might have had sex which fits the timeline was a New Year’s Eve party where someone must have taken advantage of her intoxicated state. As Abby tries to discover who may have raped her, anonymous messages and flowers start arriving, and Abby can’t help but feel someone is watching her...

Holy moly, was this book a ride! The plot sounds so intriguing but I had no idea how invested I was going to become in the story. The first half does read sort of like a treasure hunt (Abby talks to person X who then leads her to talk to person Y) which did take away from the story. But halfway through things really started amping up. The last 60 pages or so were absolutely insane, in a (mostly) good way. The reveal completely threw me and, in hindsight, I probably could have made some correct guesses had I been looking in the right direction. The very very end did feel rushed; things wrapped up quickly and some areas felt like they came to an unsatisfactory end, if that makes sense? It’s hard to explain without spoiling. All up I’d give this a 3.75/5. I definitely recommend if this sounds interesting to you!

This is a good read in places. I liked the plot idea and in parts the story was believable and well written. At times I felt really sorry for Abby and at other times I couldn't work out her emotions.

Firstly a great title for this nifty WHODUNIT!
Abby is pregnant,quite a surprise as Abby hasn’t had sex.....or has she, against her will??
The story then stays present time and she and her bff Danny try and work out how, when, why and where!, this leads them back to New Years Eve and a party she went to....there are about 4 men it could be....then she starts receiving texts, and flowers, she is being watched, but by who!
It ends up with Abby suspecting everyone and anyone she has contact with and as a reader it was easy to dismiss some but not so with others, the writing cleverly led you to believe it was a certain guy.....
Add to this a mix of a sister who has lost her own baby and an uncaring father and you have an easy to read and be involved in book
My only criticism is Abby who is a teacher sometimes sounded in her speech as young as the kids she taught and a few times I had to remind myself this was a grown woman
The ending is not what I expected, both segments are quite shocking and dark to be honest
On the whole an appealing book that ‘delivered’!!!!

Another psychological thriller. Abby is 2 months pregnant but hasn't had sex in a year. Gets you puzzling straightaway and wanting to find out how this can be. The opening is great because at this stage you think she has been abducted and is being cruelly assaulted or physically tortured when in actual fact she is giving birth! The book therefore does grab your attention as immediately you know that this is an unusual and quite disturbing set of circumstances.
I read the book quickly and stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it, so on one level it is filled with the right sort of suspense and the right amount of unanswered questions to make you want to carry on reading. However, in parts, the storyline plodded for me and it felt as if certain things were being repeated. I did have the sense of 'Is it him? No, it must be him! Oh,, wait a minute, could it be him? Yes! No! Oh!' so this need to know is what drives the book forward. Like the main character Abby you are full of suspicion and not trusting any of the other characters.
You can empathise with Abby, that powerful sense of being alone and feeling disturbed at the way in which events are unfolding but I did not like the ending at all. Something happens near the end which, for this sort of middling book, I would have expected not to have happened.
Alongside the whodunnit element is the very modern emphasis on drink, date rape, casual sex and the psychological impact on a woman when there has been a sexual assault or rape. The book also touches upon the heartache of losing a child at birth and the minefield that is the adoption process.
I would recommend, but just not highly. Read it, but don't rush out to buy it.

I had high hopes for this book but found it a bit of a slow burner & a bit repetitive. It got there in the end with a twist you’d never see coming.

Abby has been sick lately and decided to finally go to the doctor - and discovers that she is two months pregnant! How can this be when Abby hasn't been with anyone in over a year? After the shock wears off she realizes that whatever happened at her friend's NYE celebration is the explanation. But what happened? Was she drugged? She vows to find out at all cost!
This book had me addicted from the beginning - and I stayed up late into the night to finish it! It had many twists and turns that kept me guessing. A great mystery/thriller!

Not really much to say about this one, apart from its an interesting read and I would recommend.

I loved this book! From the very beginning it kept me interested. Likeable characters and a great twist at the end.....what's not to like?

So this is one of those stories that actually sounds much better than it actually was.
There was nothing really wrong with this, it was well written and all but I felt that everything seemed to take forever and a day to accomplish here and events began to get a bit stale and then same all, same all.
The beginning and end of this were quite good it was the middle here that managed to lose me somewhat.
This still had a lot going for it and I was still invested in the characters and their eventual fates.
So the introduction was explosive and I really did like it.
It set the scene for things to come and because of it, I was questioning everyone's motives and hidden agendas.
As this story unfolded this is where things started to take a nosedive for me I felt Abby was going around in circles and I just couldn't believe that nobody was taking the poor girl seriously.
Not her sister or her best mate Danny, this shocked me slightly and also made me very sad that she had no one exclusively fighting her corner.
I also felt that Abby had no deeper connection to Alex at all beyond the superficial, despite what she claimed I just wasn't feeling any warm and fuzzies from her at all.
I felt that this side-plot was there just to add some flavour to proceedings but in my opinion, this really was not needed.
Abbie herself came across as a slightly selfish neurotic individual and this was told completely from her POV.
I didn't really like her as a character and maybe if I had taken more to her I might have liked this book better.
I also felt that none of the relationships portrayed here seemed that deep and they lacked meaning.
The connections and friendships all seemed flimsy and somewhat superficial so as a result I never really formed a deeper attachment to anyone.
The finale itself here I thought was really good and also the epilogue was also very much to my liking.
On conclusion despite some ups and downs here I did enjoy this it just didn't entrall me or blow me away.
It did have a great original premise and as I said was well written.

This book takes you on a ride at a fast pace- its a psychological thriller that keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you’ve worked it all out- BANG it takes you on another fast ride. Fantastic book.
Cannot wait to read more from Karen Cole in the future.

This book was a brilliant twisty turning read. I kept changing my mind through out. Very disappointed to get to the end but then I wanted to so I knew the ending! Brilliant read

"Deliver Me" is a story of a woman - Abby - that found out she's pregnant, but how can she be pregnant when she didn't have sex in over the year?
Join Abby in her way to find out what had happened to her during only one day she doesn't remember - Danny's New Year party what had happened there. What will Abby do with her baby? Will she keep it as it wasn't planned and she doesn't even have a boyfriend.
This book was leading me to the wrong conclusions all the way! I was thinking that I had it covered, and then Ms. Cole put down a bomb and I was like - OMG I hadn't seen that coming.
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller!

Abby a young women finds herself finally visiting the  doctor after she hasn't been feeling well.  He informs her she's about 2 months pregnant.  Abby finds this completely incomprehensible as she hasn't had sexual intercourse since she broke up with her ex over a year ago.  She rerurns home in a fog takes some pregnancy tests to make sure the doctor didn't mix up the results and finds out that infact she is pregnant. The wheels start turning in her mind and she thinks back to the new years party she can't quite remember and determines she must of been drugged or so drunk that night that someone at the party must of raped her.  She starts getting notes, flowers even texts from the father that abby believes is secretly stalking her.  Abby tries to piece together the events of new year's talking to all the men she believes could be the father.  Her sister then mysteriously goes missing and Abby goes into labour and its a crazy messed up ending from here that i'll let you find out by reading the book. 
Abby does discover who the father of the baby is i think that was the biggest shocker for me, i did not see it coming at all.

I really enjoyed the first chapter then i found the book kind of dragged on while Abby was trying to figure out what had happened to her.  Then i got back into the book around 70-75% through when the suspense of what was happening really caught my attention again. I enjoyed the book overall but the idea of the book was so far fetched to me, at least i did hope it was far fetched and things like this don't happen very often. I would say it was a 3🌟star read.

The formatting made this very hard to follow. I understand it’s an ARC, but some spacing between paragraphs would be helpful. I was disappointed in this one. I understand it’s a debut, but development is missing in terms of both plot and characters

Deliver Me by Karen Cole hooked me from the very beginning. At first, I thought this might be some science fiction, a woman finds out she’s pregnant but doesn’t know how it happened? I was almost ready to put it down and start something else. But then the pieces fall into place and it becomes clear. Or a little more clear, because there are some questions that need to be answered.

When Abby’s doctor tells her she’s two months pregnant she doesn’t believe him. She can’t be – she hasn’t had sex for over a year. But to her astonishment and dismay, multiple tests confirm it’s true.

Desperately searching for an explanation, Abby recalls New Year’s Day – the terrible hangover, the hole in her memory where the night before should have been and the inexplicable sense of unease – and realizes that this baby must have been conceived at her best friend Danny’s NYE party.

Horrified that someone would have taken advantage of her intoxicated state, Abby enlists the help of Danny to find out which of the party guests assaulted her. But, when she starts to receive anonymous messages, it seems that while she has been looking into the father of her baby, someone has been watching her…

This kept me guessing and the ending…wow. This is the first novel written by Karen Cole and if she can write more books like this one, I’ll be happy!

I loved the premise, it’s an absolute nightmare finding out you are pregnant without memories of having sexual intercourse. It’s frankly a bit slow in some parts and not as thrilling as I had hoped but I was still not able to put it down because I really wanted to know who the culprit is. I was never able to guess the suspect until the reveal. However, it may have been too much of a misdirection to be almost abrupt and the execution was not so satisfying for me hence the 3-star rating.

The novel serves as an eye-opener towards victim-blaming, that we really should consider all kinds of nonconsensual sex as rape, and it never has something to do with what a person is wearing, or if she drank, or if she is dating her attacker, etc. Rape is rape and it is a crime. It also explores the right of a woman to decide what she wants to do with her body, including getting pregnant, abortion, adoption, or keeping a baby. I wish we had this sort of freedom in our country as well.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good, quick read and anyone who wants a really challenging whodunnit.

Loved this book. I was I’m the edge of m seat wondering what was going to happen next. I never expected the ending. If you are looking for a quick read that you cannot put down, definitely read this.

Wow. What an amazing novel. Kept me hooked from start to finish. Didn’t want to put it down! Full of twists to keep the reader guessing.

Every reader comes to a novel with their own expectations based on the novel's blurb. I try not to read blurbs so I can be completely surprised as the story unfolds. Unfortunately, when choosing books from NetGalley to read and review, this isn't an option. So, expectations were high. The premise sounded unique. And when I read the author is from the Cotswolds, one of my favorite places on the planet, I hoped the story would be set in the same place. It was. More on that later.

I read the book in one sitting. Parts of it drove me batty, as the main character Abby was in denial. I couldn't believe that she couldn't accept the obvious. Over and over again. Surely, she couldn't be pregnant. Surely, she wasn't raped. Definitely, nobody stalked her. Each incident, she and her friends rationalized away. Until they couldn't. Although this isn't how I would act in these particular circumstances, it's exactly what many people would do. Although frustrating to read, the author did an excellent job of the characters going through these stages of change until they had no choice but to accept what was happening.

And the red herrings as to whodunit! Wow. Every male became a suspect. I thought I had it figured out at least three times, so the actual culprit came as a total shock.

Then why the 3-star review?

After Abby accepted what happened to her, there seemed to be no balance in her reasoning. Even factoring in fluctuation of emotions from pregnancy hormones--and preggo hormones are wicked when it comes to messing with emotions--a woman isn't totally berserk, yet that's how Abby came across. She goes from, not confiding her pregnancy to her trusted, loving sister until she's five months along, to, wildly accusing each possible suspect in the worst way, sometimes publicly. It felt contrived and not honest to the character. The most honest and authentic statement Abby made was in the cafe with her sister, right before Abby got up and walked away. It ticked me off that I had to wait that long for such a truth.

But what really brought down the rating for me was poor use of setting. The Cotswolds are incredibly beautiful, charming, unique, with amazing history and homes/buildings. I've driven the area from one end to the other and walked several villages and towns. Yet the author let this incredible resource go to waste. With the barest setting descriptions, the story could have taken place anywhere. At one point Abby looks at a flat in Bibury. There's a famous attraction in Bibury. Loads of tourist buses stop here and dump off passengers just to photograph the beauty and charm. But no mention was made of this.

Overall, a good debut that kept me reading until I had to finish. But a few disappointing concerns that could be easily fixed in her next novel.
