Ash Perrin and his colleagues are doing great things with play, and this book is a terrific addition to their body of work. It's practical and inspiring for parents and educators alike. Recommended!
I definitely recommend this to other parents struggling with how different our kids’ play looks from what play was like for us growing up. I found it motivational for changing how we do things and it made me feel less “stuck” as a parent in the battle with tablets and phones.
A cute book with advice for parents or caregivers who want to connect/engage more with the children in their lives but aren't sure how. The book places an emphasis on games and gives instructions on how to play them with your children. I didn't feel like this was revolutionary, but a good guide for those who are looking.
Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun and quick book outline why play is important for kids and adults as well as illustrating how to have fun with some do it yourself games. I'm a big fan of board games and this book did a good job bringing up ideas on how to engage your family. My only critic is that this would a lot more effective if the author incorporated more real life pictures with instructions. More like a recipe book. Other than that, awesome book.
