I have yet to read a book by Lauren Dane that I did not love. And this one is no exception. I loved the chemistry between Joe and Beth. I loved how Beth went after what she wanted, no holds barred, full force, in a sexy way that left it hard for Joe to resist. He really stood no chance. But he wanted her as much. I loved how she showed him how much she wanted him, flaws and all, and how he finally accepted it, treasuring Beth even more. Their story was full of heat, love, laughter, and family. I have loved the Chase families and now the Murphy ones. It was simply perfect getting reacquainted with these characters, reading and feeling their camaraderie, like a feel good television show you really love.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Lost In You by Lauren Dane is book 2 in the Petal, Georgia. This is the story of Joe Harris and Beth Murphy. I have read the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Joe is back from the military trying to reconnect with his old life help his family and hopefully move forward from past mistakes. Beth is at the for-front of wanting to welcome Joe home. Joe has some issue with feeling like he deserved the love and attention he was getting I thought, especially feelings Beth wanted to give him.
This is a re-release with updated story line and some added chapters.
3.5 stars
Lost In You by Lauren Dane was an enjoyable read.
I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Joe and Beth, they had great chemistry and both were likable/entertaining characters.
Overall, Lost In You is a good addition to the Petal, Georgia Series and I highly recommend it.

This is a total pleasure read, if you have not read the chase brothers, you need to do that before you do this and anything else in this world that Lauren Dane has created. Lost in you, is a wonderful story, with lots of heart, humour and steam,. this actually pulls a lot off heart strings and i am sure to be re reading this again. Reading this entire series again, i really love Lauren's writing and this was a delicious treat.
I'm not sure if my issue with this book is that I haven't read book one in the series and that this doesn't work so well as a stand alone, but I don't think that's it. There is a huge cast of characters in this book though, which does lend itself to some confusion trying to sort out who is related to whom (who?). But I think more than that, I really didn't mesh well with the dialogue or the writing style in general. I think this book could absolutely work for someone else, but I am not the right reader for this one. Dane is good at writing sexual tension though, which is what kept me reading longer than I would have otherwise.
I love these couples from Petal Georgia. I’ve read all the romances about the Chase family and this one is nearly as good as the best of them. There are a fair number of similarities too. Fully aware of their shortcomings, they sometimes need a reminder about the joy, strength love and stability they bring to the people whose hearts they’ve captured.
The H is a former bad boy who has returned home, after 4!tours in the Middle East, to help his dad whose health is failing. The heroine had a tumultuous childhood, dodging her father’s fists and enduring her mother’s apathy. Her saving grace has and always will be her siblings, and her sister in particular. Growing up, she learned not to give up and that tenacity is exactly what she’ll need to get and keep her man.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When Joe returns to Petal, Georgia to take care of his father, he never expected his best friend's sister Beth to cat h his eye. Beth remembers the boy Joe used to be but seeing him now makes her love the man even more. I love Beth's tenacity when it comes to Joe. I'm excited to see what this new series brings.
Fun family driven small town romance
I really enjoyed Lauren Dane’s Lost in You the first book in her Petal Georgia series a spin-off of her Chase Brothers series. While there are lots of crossover characters from these series this book read well as a stand alone. If anything it made me want to read all the secondary couples’ previous stories.
Beth and Joe have known each other since they were kids but when he comes back to town their chemistry is explosive. I loved the humor in their relationship and while serious issues caused bumps in the road Beth’s tenacity and love for Joe prevailed.

After having read the stories of all the Chase brothers (yummie!), I was very delighted to see another book of Lauren Dane about Petal. This time, it is not about the Chases, although Polly makes an appearance (of course). Tate Murphy's brother William is delighted to see his best friend Joe Harris back in town. After serving in the army for several years, Joe is ready to get back home to take care of his father. His mother can't cope with the tantrums, screaming and other issues, Joe's father is showing lately.
Not everyone is happy to see notorious bad boy Joe back into town. Little do they realize, that Joe left his bad boy years behind him. Beth, William's little sister (all grown up now), however is immune to the gossip about Joe's reputation. She thinks Joe is still the hottest guy in town and she is prepared to fight for him. If only he would stop seeing her as William's little sister (and therefore off-limits). Because the 'brother code' to stay away from your friends little sister is very outdated. But Joe doesn't want anyone to know about the problems in his family. So, a girlfriend is not an option currently. Beth however, doesn't take no for an answer...
Funny, heartwarming and cute. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Joe has just returned to Petal after being in the military. He has his own garage and tries to help out with his father. Beth is one of the many Murphy siblings and her brother is best friends with Joe. When he hits town, she decides to be the welcoming committee. She wants Joe but he comes up with the best friends little sister excuse. But she is determined to win him over. After an incident with his father, Joe tries pushing her away but she’s determined and so is he. Will he realize how much Beth means to him before he loses her for good?
Pretty good story. I thought Beth was a little aggressive but could have been just me. Joe is sort of the tall, silent type motorcycle riding bad boy.
Sex and a dancing dog.

I enjoyed Lost in You which was previously published and is newly refreshed with added content. Joe is one of Beth's brothers best friends so in his eyes she is off limits. Beth doesn't see it that way. She pursues him aggressively and he doesn't seem to mind. Enjoyable romance with some deep undertones.
Time and the military have made Joe Harris a better man than he was when he left Petal, Georgia, ten years ago. Now that he’s back, all he wants is to take care of his dad, get his garage up and running and spend time with his dog. When I started reading I couldn't put down.Lauren Dane is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
3 1/2 stars. This was a light and airy read that was enjoyable. I've always enjoyed this series. The added content was nice having read the original. Fun characters. Joe is charming, Beth is a Hurricane force wind but lovable. I was rooting for them all the way! Lots going on in Petal, gossip and family stuff it's a pretty fun and quirky place.
Thank you to Netgalley/publisher for this ARC.
‘Lost in You’ started out promising, but dipped quite early on when I realised there wasn’t much else but talk about Beth going after Joe and Beth really going after Joe.
And that was my red flag, even though the best friend’s sister trope is one that I do nose around for whenever I can. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really get engaged beyond the point where Beth started chasing Joe because there wasn’t much more to look for beyond that. A forthright heroine who knows what she wants is always a welcome change in direction in romance, but the small town talk simply seemed to be about everything and nothing as Joe and Beth danced around each other in a two-steps-foward-two-steps-back choreography.
Not having read Lauren Dane’s other series, ‘Lost In You’ did feel like I’d stepped in the middle of a show whose beginning I knew absolutely nothing about. Secondary characters who must have played an important and heartfelt role in previous books made appearances here but because I wasn’t invested in them at all, such scenes actually felt redundant and dragged the story under—this is obviously on me, but it was also a sign that ‘Lost in You’ just wasn’t my thing as well.
This story centers around Joe Harris and Beth Murphy.
Joe has returned home after 10 years determined to right some wrongs from his youth as well as starting a new life in Petal, GA. He also has come home to help his Mom who is dealing with his father’s mental health.
Beth is now grown up and though the attraction is there, she is his friend’s kid sister. Beth is determined to pursue him, but he doesn’t want to cross the line. Besides , he feels he’s not good enough for her , nor does he want to burden her with his family’s problems.
As much as I enjoyed Joe’s character, Beth just didn’t do it for me. The plot was a tad slow and I felt it was repetitive.
I suspect that since I had not read the Chase Brothers series, I was also at a disadvantage.
All that said, I appreciated the fact that the author brought to our attention issues that affect not only our society, but the children in the homes of parents suffering from mental health , and alcoholism. A reality that later in life , will affect these children when they become adults.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Carina Press. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
