This is a republished book, but since I hadn't read it before, now was a good time :) A little slow to start, but a fun and hot story overall. this is the first of a duo so be prepared!

A great romantic suspense Summer read! This was my first read by Danielle Rose and although it was a little slow and confusing in the beginning, it began to draw me in and I can’t wait to read the 2nd in this series!

James and Jezebel were amazing. I truly can't wait to read the next book in this duo. The hold backs, the let gos, the darn stalker. It was just beautifully written. The simplicity of the love scenes was breath taking. I adored their relationship and how it's all coming together.

This was my first read by this author and definitely not the last. This was a fast read, with a well written plot, plenty of sexy scenes and full of suspense. The connection between Jez and James was instant with plenty of heat. Highly recommend this book.

This is my first read from this author and the story line is unique and interesting but I feel like it kind of needed some more developing. I did feel like characters had a lot of chemistry, but I didn't think it was all that realistic that the bodyguard was so careless at times and not focused on his main job of protecting his client. I am still interested and excited to read book two in the series to see where else the story leads and what else we learn about Jezebel and James.

The book was my very first by Danielle Rose and I have to say I was hooked quite since I discovered it and read the blurb. And let me tell you, the cover..oh so gorgeous, right?
The story was great, insta lust at fast pace with lots of hurdles in between. Both main characters were damaged bc of their past.
Jezebel, young attractive and succesfull author has never cared about her famous status, not even when she received the first letter of her stalker. But when they started to arrive on a regularly basis she agreed to get an bodyguard.
For the first time she's laid her eyes on James Blakely, she's been attracted ever since. He also was smitten by her beauty but in order to keep her safe he had to fight the strong pull to her.
When they discovered to fight the attraction to each other has been senseless, they let themselve enjoy the flow until the stalking starts again...

I simply enjoyed the story and totally loved the characters.

Starting this story, I was not sure where the author was going. But as I continued, the light came on and all of a sudden I was involved. Yet as I moved forward I wondered about pieces missing. That always makes me wonder if the author was intentional. With the second book in this also ready for reading, I discovered I was correct.

Lies We Keep is the first book in the Pieces of Me series and also a first read for me with author Danielle Rose. Thank you Danielle for a great story filled with mystery. Both of our major characters have their issues, and as I read, I realize the battle within this story was to keep each subject clear to me the reader. Wonderful job doing so. Onward to Book Two I go.

This a new author to me. I liked how she went into details of Jezebel as a author. How her everyday life is. Blakey is one mysterious fella. Jezebel blames herself for a accident that was beyond her control. This is book one of a series. Book two is called Truth We Bear.

Lies We Keep was a gripping romantic suspense novel that had me on the edge of my seat. This is my first time reading a book by Danielle Rose. She has earned a spot on my list of favorite authors. Her ability to captivate readers attention and sustain it is simply astonishing.

The synopsis in itself will grab readers attention. Before reading, I knew this book would be a top read of mine. It exceeded all of my expectations. The plot was fantastic. A writer, Jezebel Tate, has amassed a high level of fame finds herself needing protection from fans and stalkers leads her to hire a bodyguard, James Blakely.

Jezebel was a strong, independent writer who was skillful at her craft. She was praised for her work by her fans, but she didn't write to be famous. That was the one aspect of her career that she could do without. When she starts receiving some threatening letters, her friend/employee hires a bodyguard.

That is when we get to meet the sexy and mysterious James Blakely. He is ex-military and is the best at protecting his clients. He likes to stick to the plan, get his job done, and call it a day. He finds that this won't be the case from the first moment he meets Jezebel.

I LOVED the relationship between these two characters. They pushed each other in many ways which created some of my favorite moments in the novel. It forced them to face their feelings, past, and future head-on. I was so impressed with these characters and their character development.

I give Lies We Keep 5 stars. I don't know how I have never heard of this author, but I am so glad I came across this novel. I am so excited to read book 2 in the series. And I am so excited for other readers to read a jaw-dropping thriller.

I was drawn in by this cover, and the fact I kept hearing about this all over. This is the first story I've read by Danielle Rose, and while the first half of the story wasn't bad, the second half really drew me in.

Jezebel is a surprising female character- she's aggressive in getting the man, she's very forward, and at first doesn't seem too concerned about this stalker. She is a woman with attitude, that's for sure! James tries to resist her charms, but not very hard. They both have secret guilts from their past, I think that helps build the bond. The build up between them wasn't my favorite part though. Halfway through, the action and suspense kick in, and it gets interesting and kind of twisted! Those moments were surprising and pulled me in, making me anxious to find out what happened.

The chemistry between Jezebel and James is scorching hot from the moment they meet. I was drawn to the story based in their interaction alone.
When the element of danger is thrown into the mix, with the mystery of who the stalker could be, there wasn't a chance of going to sleep until I finished the book.
Both of the main characters have lost their family, so there's an underlying connection between them. Lies We Keep focuses on Jezebel's past, and how it's affected her daily life ever since.
With the help of her best friend Tara, and her new bodyguard, she must come to terms with her loss
All while fighting for her life against an unknown threat, that might be a lot closer than she realizes.
An amazing tale, woven with intrigue and romance. I immediately started the second book and will recommend Danielle Rose to anyone that'll listen!

I always love a good military man protecting his women. This is the first time in be read something from Ms. Rose but it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Omg this book. I have not read any books from this author and I am proud to say I am hooked. This story kept me wanting to read more. I can’t wait to read the next one. I definitely recommend this book to anyone

My first read by this author but I'll definitely put more of her books on my TBR list. Jezebel has a stalker and must hire a bodyguard to help protect her as the threats are getting scarier and scarier. Nothing beats a great bodyguard falling for his charge story and this one is no exception. I loved every single thing about Blakely including his efforts to not fall for Jez's games...but he's a man with his own pasts and sorrows and she's a beautiful woman offering no strings attached fun. Little to they both know...it never works out like you expect it to. I, personally, am not terribly fond of Jezebel and I can't really put my finger on why that might be but hoping that Pieces of Me book 2 will shed some more light on her so I can "feel" her more. The two of them together are fairly combustible and the story is truly an intense, steamy read.

Oh this book...I could not put it down. Loved and hated Jezebel at times.
This was my first book by this author but won't be my last.

LIES WE KEEP

Jezebel Tate is a famous author who has managed to attract a stalker. James Blakely has one job and that is to protect Jezebel. They find themselves in unfortunate events and realize that it was maybe faith that brought them together.

This is my first read from Danielle, but not my last. I really enjoyed this book. I found Jezebel to be selfish and inconsiderate at times, but that was part of her "I take what I want" personality. I did not like reading that Jezebel suffered in some parts of the book but that was what made the book so unique. I did notice that James' parents story was a lot like the (true) story of Jim Jones and his followers. I was/am interested in the the Jim Jones story so I enjoyed that something similar was included in this story

Good Job Danielle. I hear Book 2 calling my name. I'm running to it now as I can't wait to see what happens with Jezebel and James

A whole lot of cat and mouse action, then throw a stalker in the mix and you have yourself an interesting story. I want my very own Mr. Blakely too dangit! A real page turner with memorable characters and fast paced storyline. Going to start James’ book now. Excited for everyone else to get their hands on these books. So worth it.
