The Yoga Plate certainly isn't just a cookbook. It's a guide on a lifestyle integrating yogic beliefs into everyday life, not just on the mat. Which includes how we eat. I've been vegan for several years now but am still hard pressed to find many books that converge veganism and spirituality. This very quickly became one of my favorites.
Tamal and Victoria go deep into understanding the real yoga - and realise that 'yoga' as you know it is only one of the eight limbs of the whole system of yoga.
Concept of prasadam is well explained.
Blueberry beauty looks gorgeous.
The book cover is very appetising too.
Watermelon coconut mint cooler - I wonder how water melon will go with coocnut water. I will try this.
I should try Nutritional yeast in chickpea flour pancakes next time.
Cauliflower mash
Vegenaise
Lots of refreshing recipes
Dinosaur kale
Avocado mint chutney
Rawsome
Never tried cider vinegar ina cake, but anything goes well with chocolate right.
Ah the raw Lemon Raspberry Cheescake...
Peanut butter cup
I received an arc of this book from Netgalley for an honest review. What a great book with excellent recipes that will nourish your body and prepare you for every day. I can't wait to use some of these recipes.
This cookbook combines great food with information about the authors’ beliefs and practices. It starts with a very short autobiography of how they started down this path then moves on to information about Yoga. I am honestly thrilled that there is more to this book than I expected!
After the introductory section, the book moves on to a helpful list of stocking the pantry, organizational tips, and suggestions for kitchen equipment. There is also a very helpful chart with metric conversions. The recipes that follow cover every meal throughout the day, and there are so many that I would consider ordinary that even a person new to this way of life will not be disappointed.
This is definitely a cookbook worth adding to your collection.
“I love the way philosophy of yoga was introduced into every plate. The recipes were created with the ahimsa or non-harm, which is part of the Eight Limb Path in yoga, in mind. I tried some of the recipes in the book and they were delicious.
This book is so much more than I expected. The information is helpful and recipes look great. I like the way it is put together with lots of helpful information. I have an electronic version I can’t wait for the paper copy to come out to order
I really enjoyed this book. Honestly, more so than I thought. It was an easy tp follow book with a great selection of recipes and advice.
Review for pre-print version made available through NetGalley
Decent recipe book, enjoyed the different smoothie recipes, etc.
Issues only with the pre-print version of this-- page numbers are missing, things referenced etc. I think this is due to the nature of the fact that it is a pre-publication. Formatting on Kindle version not the best.
I love that this book is more than just recipes. Its also a spiritual journey, using food. I practice yoga on a semi regular basis and I find on the days that I do, I am generally more conscious of what goes into my body. After I've spent an hour that morning concentrating on my breathe and body, I don't find myself wanting to fill it with processed foods. That being said, this book makes total sense in terms of melding together the concept of yoga and conscious eating. I really enjoyed a lot of the recipes I tried, and the photos are stunning. Definitely give this a read if you're into yoga, going vegan or learning more about treating your body like the sacred temple that it is.
I loved the simplicity of the book. It creates an equilibrium between the story, the recipes and the yoga and meditation aspects of life. Very insightful.
That cover is the most beautiful I’ve seen all year! And this colorful offering is more than a cookbook, extending yoga practice into the kitchen with 108 delicious vegan recipes for nourishing body and soul.
An essential addition to any yoga practitioner’s library! 5/5

A great vegan cookbook filled with beautiful photos and many delicious recipes. The cookbook includes everything from breakfast, snacks, meals and desserts. I'm looking forward to making the Watermelon Coconut Mint Cooler, Raspberry Chia Jam, Asian Cowboy BBQ Tofu and the Peanut Butter Cups!
This book is not going to be for everyone, and I admit to finding it a little exhausting as an omnivore. But practicing vegans and yogis will be delighted by the variety of exercises, recipes, and tips for stocking your pantry. Visually it's a beautiful book, too. Lots of lush color photos.

What a cool, fun and unique cookbook! I loved the uniqueness of the recipes. While I would have liked to have seen more relevant pictures, pictures were supplied. Ingredients for the recipes should be easy to find.

Definitely so much more than a cookbook, the first part of the book explains how eating (and all of life) can be spiritual. This cookbook has tons of alternative versions of classic recipes as well as fresh recipes!! Especially love the twist they put on Mexican recipes, can't wait to try them!
This was a very nice and informative cookbook. It even had information on meditation and how to stock a good yoga pantry, including information on each ingredient. As well as an essential tool list. I love how in depth the different sections are rather than how most other books have smoothies lumped in with breakfast or dessert, this book gives them their own section. The photos are gorgeous and none of the recipes have any complicated or hard to find ingredients.
This is the first yoga cookbook I have read, and I found it very interesting. The amount of additional information and advice made is so much more than just a recipe book. There are some things that I would really like to try, and treating yoga as a lifestyle and all round approach makes sense. Thank you
A very pleasant surprise. It's the first time I saw "yoga" to be applied to cooking and eating.
Definitely saw several recipes I'm very eager to taste.
This really is more than a cookbook, its a spiritual journey in food.
The yoga plate helps you to bring clean, healthy, vegan meals to the table in style.
It makes sense to put as much effort into what goes into our bodies as we do taking care of the outside of it.
Refreshing, colourful food captured in beautiful photos.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Arc of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved reading all about the holistic approach to health, and that yoga is much more than just physical health. It is nice to have an entirely vegan cookbook utilizing many ingredients that are readily available. I am so excited to get started making some of these delicious recipes!
