A great series. Steamy sexy romance book with some scene that will make you breathless and fall in love with the characters. Great characters that are relatable.
This book was so good. I had read the second in the Legally Bound series by Rebecca Grace Allen and was really looking forward to this one. I love her writing style, and how deeply she digs into her characters and really makes them come alive on the page. This time the story features a married couple, a bit of a departure in typical romance. We are past the point of Samantha and Brady finding their happy-ever-after, and are seeing what happens next. For these two, settling into married life, having a home, a family and jobs, means they are losing themselves to each other. Sam feels invisible, while Brady can tell something is wrong but has no idea how to address it. They stumble upon a shared kink, Sam being dominant and Brady submissive, and it reignites their love life. Slowly they get to know one another all over again and discover that while it might not always be easy, love is worth the work. Sam and Brady, and the rest of the characters, were so well written and their world was so rich in emotion that I had a hard time putting this one down. I highly recommend it.
I received a free copy of Their Discovery in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story that was very humble and realistic. I think many couples find their lives are taken over by daily living, kids, work, etc. Sam and Brady were no exception. I found the transition into their new life style was very natural with a few bumps along the way. This was definitely a book I would read if you are open minded and willing to an venture into a different lifestyle scene even if it's only for a few hours.
This is not a typical romance. There was a real struggle and so many problems that one could find in real life, but it was a bit slow and it came out adrift. I understand their need and wish to save the marriage, but there were moments I felt like reading a textbook. I was struggling to finish it, Despite trying to connect to characters, I couldn't. There were too much emotional drama and too slow pace for me. I liked their discovery of their kinky side and their process, and even though I am a huge fan of everything kinky, good romance with emotional angst, this one was just ok for me.
My hands are burning from the hotness of this book! If you are even slightly interested in exploring your feelings about submission, start here!
Before I start this review I would simply mention that I voluntarily read and received a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
In the third book of the 'Legally Bound' series we follow the story of Samantha Archer and her husband Brady. Sam has hit a dead end in her life. She is now stay at home mum to their two young girls Allegra and Hope. Her marriage has gradually turned into a chore. She needs someone to pick up the slack at home and to help her share the mental workload of parenting. She wants to feel sexy and wanted again. Because right now, she feels like she is starting to disappear.
Until one day, Sam gets an amazing job opportunity and it re-awakens her inner goddess. On that work high she realises it's brought about a dominating side to her. Naturally enough this slowly seeps into her life with Brady. Maybe this is the sex kick they needed.
Will Brady be open to the idea of being his wife's submissive? Will this new found pleasure cause a wedge between them?
A pleasant and sexy read, looking forward to indulging in more of Ms Allens' series.
MEH! I picked this up and put it down so many times, hoping it would be better. While appreciated the difficulties in the marriage, and the approach to overcoming things, I just couldn't like it. I read so many different genres and works, that I I can't even say that it was a little of one thing and not another. Throughout the whole story I just felt the story itself was off. This is just me personally. I love a story that is angsty, and filled with feeling, tackles subject of the everyman/everywoman, but this one left me flat and wanting at best.

"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
A true testament to the beauty of writing a story. I have loved these characters since the beginning and was waiting for their story. Suffice it to say, I enjoyed every word. Can't wait for another book by Miss Allen
Their Discovery had a different take on romance, and took a real-world topic and treated it genuinely. A married couple finds that their lives are starting to lose some of the luster they had when they were first married, and they decided to spice up their sex lives as a way to reconnect. From there, lots of experimentation begins to occur, and it seems like the couple might be solving one problem by introducing another one. Their Discovery is an extreme take on marital stagnation.

Was a very sexually explicit book, but well written. I read it quickly and would recommend it to people who enjoy this type of story.
I will admit that it was a struggle for me to finish this book. I found the beginning of the book to be hard to get into. The characters were not clicking with me or with each other. The D/s factor seemed to be rushed and came out of nowhere. By the end of the book, I grew to know the characters more but struggled to care about them.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
I did not enjoy this book. A couple discovers interesting things about themselves. Recommended it this is a genre in which you are interested.
I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters. They have relatable marriage issues due to lack of communication and I found that refreshing. I also could relate to Sam, being on my own post baby weight-loss journey (although I don't have the same level of body and self esteem issues as Sam. I could also relate to having a husband with severe ADHD, it can be frustrating at times, which this book showed.
Overall, this book was okay. It was a quick read after you get past the depressing beginning.
A fiery romance by Ms. Allen. Be careful you don't get singed. I felt that the characters and the story were developed quite well.
Samantha and Brady Archer have been married for over a decade, they have two beautiful kids, a lovely house and a decent life. By the last few years, things have gone distant between them. Sam thinks he doesn’t see her anymore. Brady doesn’t know how communicate with her and be the man she needs.
One fine day, Sam learns something about her husband and herself will change their life irreversibly.
A mistress never reveals her secrets
When I found about this book. I was desperate for read it. BDSM books are a favorite genre of mine and I’ve been looking for female dominant’s stories.
And let me tell you something Their Discovery won’t disappoint me at all.
When you read the summary of the book, Rebecca Grace Allen warning you about what you can expect. This couple isn’t perfect. Neither of them rules the BDSM scene, they’re going to learn about it together with mistakes included.
And you get all of this.
And you enjoy all of this.
“I was going to fuck you, pet,” she panted, grinding down on him. “But I think I’m gonna stay right here.”
It’s fascinating read about a submissive man and his conflict between being the protector husband or his wife's pet. Because, he thinks he can’t be both. Same case with Sam, she doesn’t know how to be a Mistress, thing she really craves, a lovely wife and a dedicated mom.
The plot keeps you between the tension of what will happen between them and the excitement of what they discover. Sam and Brady’s BDSM scenes are full of lust.
There are also serious issues such as Brady's attention disorder that was never diagnosed in time and prevents him from remembering things Sam asks for. The way he handles that with the post it completely melted me.
What can you find in Their Discovery by Rebecca Grace Allen?
A real heroine who struggles to find herself completely as a woman, wife and mother.
“The way you want me, pet, I want you too. The way you’ve been thinking about me I’ve done the same.!
Sam took his hands in hers and held them.
“You want to be on your knees, and I want to put you there. You want to be controlled; I want to control you. I’m as desperate for this as you are.”
A hero with a big heart whose mission is to please and protect his wife.
“I don’t know when I’m supposed to act one way or another with you. When I’m your pet and when I’m allowed to speak my mind. I don’t know how to be everything you want, Sam. I don’t think I can be.”
Sensual scenes between a Domme and her submissive that will wet your panties.
“So pretty,” she murmured.
Brady blushed and beamed. It was the Sam he remembered from college, approving and accepting, like some goddess allowing him into her service. She ran a palm up one his thighs, over his belly and down the other leg. His dick twitched at the nearness of her touch, greedy and pulsing. His ball ached. How long was she going to keep him like this?
Secondary characters from previous books that will make you want to read their stories
That's why my score is 4.5 stars because Their Discover is really perverse and meets its premise.
A great series. Steamy sexy romance book with some scene that will make you breathless and fall in love with the characters. Great characters that are relatable. I couldn't get enough of this series.
This third book in the Legally Bound series (after His Contract and Her Claim) is a poignant portrait of a marriage on the rocks. Not because of what they’ve done so much as what they haven’t done. After seventeen years of marriage and two children, Samantha and Brady seem to have lost the love and passion that brought them together, and have lost sight of each other. Sam feels like the invisible bulwark in their marriage, and Brady spends his time at his work, where he feels like a superhero instead of the failure that Sam’s exasperated lectures so often make him feel.
Initially they seem to find their way back together by discovering their inner kinksters, but while the dynamic of Domme Sam and Sub Brady is empowering for Sam, it makes Brady question his own strength and masculinity the minute the intense pleasure is over. Ultimately, what saves them is what nearly broke them, opening up to each other about what they want and need, in and out of the bedroom.
VERDICT: Much of this romance is heartbreaking in its familiarity, as two people who still love each other fracture over communication - or rather the lack of it. The kinky aspects of their discovery add eroticism to their heartbreak, as well as complicating the problems they already have. This romance, and it is definitely a romance, is highly recommended for readers who love stories of what happens after the happily ever after, and explore just how hard that HEA can be to hang onto.
Their Discovery by Rebecca Grace Allen is my first read by this author but I am most definitely putting the first 2 books in the Legally Bound series on my to be read list. I read my share of BDSM stories, powersharing, kinky and not so kinky. This one kind of encompasses all kinds of different stories into one although the main story line of this story is Domme/sub. I rarely read this kind of story and not necessarily because I don't enjoy it, but primarily because it doesn't come across my plate as often and some are not very well written because they are all about the sexual part. This story is NOT all about the sexual part although I will say there are some wonderfully steamy, naughty parts indeed. This story is more about the background, the learning to be truly open to your partner, your desires, your needs, your life. It is about getting what you need without having to destroy who you are. I completely enjoyed the push and pull and having both points of view really helped get me into the mindset, the thought process these two characters have to go through in order to save their marriage...if it can even be saved.
Overall an interesting approach to the kinkiness of the domme and the submissive relationship between the married leads Samantha and Brady whose relationship is on the rocks. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this and could easily understand why some readers could relate to the characters. The sex scenes were sizzling, the emotions were an all time high and the drama between the leads and the later addition to the third counterpart of BDSM relationship were well worth the read.
