I truly loved this book! Jonas and Caitlin were perfect for each other. Based on her past, Caitlin didn't want to do a serious relationship. So when Jonas pressed for more, she told him no. Six months go by and things are changing. Caitlin is pressured into trying her friend's dating app for a month. Jonas finds out and he wants a second chance. With the help of her friends, Jonas gets that shot. The story was so fun. The characters were fantastic. I would love to be friends with them. I will definitely go looking for more books by Stacey Lynn. I received an advance copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sweet romance that I loved! The humor is perfect!! Second Chance romance at its best! Will be following this author!
Actually, it looks as if Caitlin has everything a woman could wish for: a job, friends and a lover. An uncomplicated lover - a friend with benefit. Stupid, if he suddenly wants more - after 2 years he wants a date - and wants to steer the relationship in more serious directions.
This is the moment when Caitlin sends Jason into the desert. Figuratively speaking.
Strange only that she misses him.
So it's just in time that she should test the newly developed dating app for her friend and employer.
But where do 28 dates lead?
I know many of Stacey Lynn's books and this one hasn't disappointed me either - the main characters have their problems, but they are adorable, have a weird sense of humor and honest feelings for each other.
And of course - there's hot sex, loyal friends and - I won't tell you too much - a HEA...
The description of the book explains the story. Caitlin shot Jonas down when he wanted more. Six months later, she signs up for the app, and he decides he needs to as well to try to convince her to give him a shot. She goes on some dates that would have made most people who were invested consider quitting an app, but she keeps going. The majority of the book is nothing but friendship, flirting, and longing on both sides. I didn't love the ending. Hopefully without spoiling anything, I felt like some things happened that were a bit much (I had trouble believing it was something that the one person would have done and that it would have been as well received by the other person, given the background and feelings of the characters). Then, rather than ending, the book kept going and also had an epilogue. I probably would have rated the first 80% of the book higher.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Caitlin and Jonas have had an agreement for a few years where they had a sexual relationship with no strings attached. That was working out great with Caitlin until Jonas wanted more. Her being a commitment-phobe, she panicked and told him she couldn’t give him more. It was the best sex she’s ever had and six months later, Caitlin is realizing she might have made the biggest mistake of her life.
Jonas knew he was falling in love with Caitlin during their arrangement, however, he couldn’t continue just being a sexual partner when he wanted more.
When Caitlin’s boss and best friend comes up with a dating app, guaranteeing a relationship in 28 dates or less, he asks her to be his guinea pig. Jonas isn’t happy that she’s doing this and meeting the dates at his place of business, Dirty Martini’s. That’s when he devises a plan to be one of the guys she chats with online, this way he could hopefully let her see his true feelings.
I loved this story, it was funny, witty and oh so hot!
It was a cute romance but a little predictable. I still liked the love story between the two main characters. This is a good author that I would read again.
I always enjoyed this authors stories. They are light on the heart and refreshing. This 4 star story was all that and so much more.
Caitlin and Jonas have an arrangement as being friends with benefits until one of them wants more. The other is not ready to commit. Caitlin is helping her friend out with by trying out his dating app. Things are about to get very interesting.
This is a friend to lover kind of story. A quick page turner that had me reading in one sitting. It was entertaining and fun read. Although not an original storyline but it flowed well and came together at the end.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.
Six months after telling Jonas she doesn't do relationships, I.e. dating, Catlin's boss and best friend Trey asks her to try his new dating app. Nothing's worse than realizing you made a mistake with the one guy you can't stop thinking about and he's with someone else. Maybe this app is the answer. Now she just has to commit to twenty-eight dates.
An engaging romance with the ups and downs and tears and laughter of dating and the one special guy waiting behind the bar.
This is a cute story of Caitlin and Jonas and the evolution of their friends with benefits arrangement. Throw in some online dating horrors and a touch of “You’ve Got Mail”. It is an easy read without a lot of character development, but you still find yourself interested in seeing how the story progresses.
This is the 3rd standalone in this series and can be read apart and separate from the other 2 books, but I would suggest reading them all to get the full enjoyment from this series. That being said, I have to say that 28 Dates was my absolute favorite of the series so far! I loved Jonas' character so much and he was so sincere and patient with Caitlyn. This one had all the feels and evoked all the emotions I look for in a contemporary romance. I felt so connected to these characters and will miss them now that I've finished the book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it!! The story of Jonas and Caitlin was so sweet. I could not stop reading! She thought she did not want to ever fall in love and when Jonas wanted more than the Friends with Benefits they had been, she ended it. So when her friend wants her to try his new dating app, she agrees. The problem is none of these men hold a candle to Jonas, who has moved on and has a girlfriend. Can they find their way to one another? This will definitely be the first of many books I read by this author!
Lots of laughs, lots of fun, lots of steamy parts. You can’t but to fall in love with Jonas and Caitlin. Can a commitment-phobe overcome her issues and open herself up to something more than friends with benefits? Does Jonas have what it takes to capture her heart? You will laugh out loud and root for them every step of the way.
I rated this book 3.5 stars because I really enjoyed the majority of this read, especially the hero in the story. The main character was quite difficult to relate to, as were her close inner circle of friends. This made it hard to really feel anything tangible towards the heroine.
The story was witty and flowed well. The awful dates Caitlyn endured were experiences anyone could relate to. The entire read I just kept hoping for a HEA but worried it may never come.
In the end, the story wrapped up quite nicely and I was left satisfied with the read as a whole.
Caitlin and Jonas had a good thing going, a nice little friends with benefits thing, with no strings or feelings attached. Then one of them "caught feelings," and it wasn't Caitlin... she has a strict no feelings or attachments rule. Somewhere along the way the line got blurred and Jonas decided he wanted to be more than just to be her "between the sheets" friend, he wanted to be something a little more permanent for her, and she freaked.
So they went their separate ways, went back to being just friends, and tried to put their dirty past behind them. But for some reason it just won't stay hidden....
Second chance romance has never been sweeter... 28 Dates is a charming little page turner sure to make hearts skip a beat and inspire a serious case of the swoons! This story shines a light on a couple who tries to keep feelings out of their relationship of convenience, but they quickly learn they are no match for the heart. This was a great spin on the friends with benefits story line, it's not too often you run across a story where the woman is the one with a no attachments rule. It was so fun to watch Caitlin try to stay strong and avoid falling head over heels, while Jonas did everything under the sun to convince her to give them a chance. That man was downright swoon-worthy!! I must say another stellar read from Ms. Lynn, it impressed on all fronts and left my heart brimming with feels! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
The hero of this romance, Jonas, is a very appealing guy. Unfortunately, he’s fallen for Caitlin, who isn’t at all interested in any sort of commitment. All Caitlin wants is a “friends with benefits” relationship. The novel opens after they’ve been sleeping together for a while. Jonas presses for more - just a few dates that don’t involve sex, but Caitlin is so determined to avoid any serious relationship that they break up.
Fast forward a few months and now Caitlin is testing a dating app for her boss. Jonas starts texting with her anonymously and you can guess what is going to happen after that.
If you can buy that Caitlin would be such a commitment-phobe and then suddenly realize that she made a mistake, you will enjoy this romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
I really enjoyed this book!! I loved that Jonas knew his feelings toward Caitlin the entire time and never wavered about them. I liked the relationship between Caitlin and her friends. I was not the biggest fan of the (barely) other woman thing going on and how it made both sides doubt the other person's feelings for them. Overall, I thought it was a fun read with most of the book focused on Jonas convincing Caitlin to love him, not just sex with him, and Caitlin trying to figure out her feelings and whether or not she wants to feel love. I read this in one sitting, and thought it was a great modern-day romance.
3.5 stars.⭐⭐⭐
I really like reading books by Stacey Lynn, they are usually super enjoyable for me.
However this one stalled a little for me. This had more to do with the premise of the story than the characters in this instance, I think.
Even though I felt the author did a good job of detailing (in the beginning of the book) why the heroine "Caitlin" didn't want a romantic relationship with our hero "Jonas" except for occasional hookups and when he pushed her for more i.e. a real date - they broke up over it.
So it was a little hard for me to imagine only six months later that she develops a change of heart, especially since their prior arrangement had gone on for at least a couple of years.
Nevertheless when Caitlin is coerced into going on multiple dates by her boss in order to try out his new dating app, a lot changes for her other than several disastrous dates.
This really wasn't as "steamy" of a story as you might necessarily expect, even though it did provide the reader with some "fairly" humorous moments- mostly from Caitlin's assortment of "creepy" dates. Toe guy, I absolutely mean you!!!
Overall, an enjoyable read but I wasn't as invested in the characters as much as the previous two books in this series and I also didn't love it as much .
Caitlyn and Jonas had the perfect relationship: friends with benefits, no strings attached. Until he ruined everything by asking her to go on a date with him. Caitlyn doesn't date. So they go back to being just friends and Jonas desperately tries to move on because he wants more. Six months later, Caitlyn's best friend (and boss) begs her to beta-test his new app, which just happens to be called Perfect Match. This means she has to go on dates, which maybe doesn't sound so bad anymore because she's been kind of lonely without Jonas. But will looking for a relationship with these new guys make her realize just what she missed out on with the one she actually cares about? And is it too late for her to do anything about it?
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I liked it. The characters are well-written and have strong voices, which is always important when the chapters go back and forth between their POVs. I will say that I was a little confused by the title because the number of dates Caitlyn has to go on isn't mentioned at all until the very end of the book (and she definitely doesn't go on 28). But that's a minor quibble that will likely be fixed in the final copy. Overall, I enjoyed this one and I'd like to go back and read the first 2 in this series.
**Thanks to NetGalley and Random House/Loveswept for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!**
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks NetGalley!
What a cute, fun story. The concept is about an app that will find you "the one" in 28 dates. Caitlin is a commit-phobe and won't commit to anyone past a FWB situation. She volunteers to test the new app out and as you g uessed, finds love... but the question is with who

I'm a fan of this author's and her stories are usually flirty and fun, but this one had me scratching my head. The story is about two friends with benefits, where one wants more and the other doesn't want to change their arrangement even though they have been FWB for two years.
Jonas is in love with Caitlyn, and secretly, Caitlyn has deep feelings for Jonas but she won't commit. She will however, join a dating app and meet her dates at the bar that Jonas owns...….huh? The story just felt convoluted and I was disappointed with the direction of the characters, the storyline felt forced and by two thirds of the way, I no longer cared if they had an HEA.
