I really enjoyed this book about pursuing dreams no matter what season of life you're in. The way it was framed within the story of Moses was really well-done and rooted the ideas in Scripture. Tiffany's writing was accessible, personable and challenging. This is a fantastic read!
This was so inspiring and heart-lifting! I took away so much from this book and I feel I truly learned more about myself. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
An amazing book that has helped me to refocus my thoughts and look again at what God has placed in my heart to start dreaming again of the things God has planned for me. It was encouraging to be reminded God sees the big picture and he has a plan, that he will reveal took me when the time is right.
SHE DREAMS - Tiffany Bluhm
I received this book on my Kindle for the purpose of review.
As I began this book I was honestly resistant to continue reading it. However, as I purposed to get through at least one chapter, I found her thought processes and suggested actions to be quite practical and helpful.
I agree with her principle of moving forward with your dream and never give up, which is That is easier said than done but I do believe in finishing what you start. So, in that respect I can certainly readily endorse this book. Good read, very practical and I would especially recommend it to anyone at any age but would strongly suggest it be read by a college student and above.
I myself was prompted to move forward with my own dream even though late in life.
I liked the book from the beginning when the author references women from the bible who dreamed big such as Queen Esther and Mother Mary. These were strong women who dared to dream and saw their dreams come to pass. That is so encouraging to read and be reminded that God can use anyone and when you dream, dream big. He is waiting to hear your dreams and equip you to seek those dreams with His guidance.
I know we all have dreams and are still waiting for them to happen. God knows our desires and knows what is best for us. I thought because of my childhood, I was still being punished years later. Rejection is so hard to overcome and I wasn't willing to put myself in a position where I would be rejected. I have always dreamed of being a teacher. I was not encouraged by my parents to pursue that dream, so I tucked it away. Many years later God answered my dream in a big way. I became the Children's Pastor of our church. I was finally a teacher. My dream of being a teacher had come to pass but with a larger responsibility . I was a teacher of over one hundred children not just a small group in a school. I couldn't believe that God trusted me to mentor these precious children.
After reading this book I am more encouraged to continue to dream. I like how the author reminded us of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was cherished and had big dreams. She worked outside of the home and also was there for her family. I love to read that section in the bible when I am feeling discouraged. We don't have to be super woman and do everything. We need to follow our dreams and be sure we are attentive to our home life as well.
I really enjoyed the different examples the author shared and how she used scriptures to emphasize the subjects. We were put here on earth for a purpose. Don't give up on your dreams. Be encouraged that God is right there beside you as you dream big.
" We have a life to live. A life to love. We have passions to pursue, people to serve, and loved ones to shepherd."
I received a copy of this book from Read With Audra Blogger Program. The review is my own opinion.
What a thoughtfully written and encouraging book! She Dreams reads like a conversation at a coffee shop with a good friend. Bluhm encourages the reader to pursue their dreams, but first and foremost to pursue the Dream Giver — God. Bluhm regularly weaves the Word into the book, reminding me that as God works in my heart and I pursue him above all, his dreams become mine.
I find it all too easy to judge a book by its cover. (So the fact that this one highlights my favorite color and makes me think of the beach is promising.) I never would have imagined the author’s story to be what it is, and am amazed at how God brought beauty from ashes — repeatedly.
As a fellow PNW girl, I particularly enjoyed the occasional Seattle references! (Can I run down to Tacoma for a cup of coffee?)

I am reviewing a copy of She Dreams through Abingdon Press and Netgalley:
All women were born to dream, to live a life of beauty, of passion and of purpose. We are encouraged to become women of power and grit, no matter if our dreams are big or if they are small. We are reminded too that God in his goodness breathes new dreams in our hearts and takes the dreams that have died, that he invites us to trust him as we dream the impossible dream that only he can bring to pass. God not only gives us dreams, he fulfills him.
This six week study will give us a look into Moses journey to live out the God-Sized dream he has given to him, exposing the ancient wisdom and truth God offers for every woman with a dream beating in her heart.
She Dreams would make a great Six week Bible Study for a small group, I found it to be enlightening and therefore feel this book is worthy of five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
A nonfiction book where the author talks about that we should never give up on our dreams. Sometimes things work out different than what we thought they would. Also we are never too young or too old to work for our dreams.
A lot of encouraging stories in the book. You just never know how things will work out. The book references a lot of bible verses. Especially the life of Moses.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write an positive review.
This book is full of encouragement to dream big dreams, something bigger than ourselves. The idea is to glorify God and partner with Him. Bluhm deals with many issues dreamers might have to confront. I appreciated her teaching on obstacles, fear, criticism, failure, mentoring, rest, and more. She reminds us that dreams do not always turn out the way we expect. She encourages us to trust God and have a life well lived.
This book is a good one for women who have that feeling there is something more, something greater, for them to do. You will get good encouragement to go for it. Unfortunately, there are no discussion questions included nor practical strategies for discovering the dream and pursuing it. That might be in the separate study guide.
Bluhm's book was a pleasure to read. She has a writing style I liked. As a senior citizen, my favorite quote was, “If you still have a pulse, then God is not done with you, even if you feel like He is.” (57/2100)
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Read With Audra. My comments are an independent and honest review.
I really like the flow and vibe from She Dreams. I want to go back and reread it slowly so I can digest a bit more. When that happens, I'll update the review.
She Dreams reads easy - I was pulled in immediately and loved the connection with dreaming - big dreams, broken dreams, realistic dreams, etc. It made sense to me. It's not some abstract concept that doesn't fit. Bluhm has a humorous voice that lets me think I'm gabbing with a friend rather than reading an almost-self-help book.
What hit me the most was chapter 9 - Stop Scrolling and Start Rolling. I'm not a screen/social media junkie. Truly. I scroll a bit here and there but I keep my screen time monitor on and it's never crazy high. I can even go an entire day (or two!) without checking FB, Twitter, or Insta. It's fine with me. BUT that wasn't truly the focus. The focus was on comparison and HOLY COW. That hit home. I just turned 30. I have an incredible husband, great friends, good financial stuffs, and a career I love teaching kindergarten. But I don't have any living children. It is so easy to focus on that one thing. It's a big thing - but it's not in my hands entirely. It's so easy to think "she's got all that PLUS 2 kids" or "she complains about this but at least she has kids". HOW IS THAT FAIR? It's not and that comparison is stealing my joy. The joy God has given me abundantly.
I'm so grateful for the perspective this book is helping me find. I need those reminders and this will be a book I revisit and gift in the future.
