What an amazing premise for a book. An intelligent surgeon is struck with dementia and sucked down into the steady decline of his mental capacity. However, it is told through the ramblings from his perspective, which are muddled at times. This book had the potential to be an extremely powerful tale that was poignant and insightful. It hit the mark on these goals occasionally, but mostly seemed to lack the pace and editing that it needed to reach its fullest potential. I saw glimpses of it but it left me putting it down without completing it due to the hundreds of pages of investment for these lofty and yet not clearly achievable goals.

Lucky's Last Theory was an adventurous book, it was difficult to follow at first as it deals with memory loss and Alzheimer's disease. It was an engaging read and worth the time it took to do so.
I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
