I love royalty tropes! This was a cute and easy read. I love how the whole story evolved. Even though the story was a quick read and a bit predictable, I still really enjoyed it. The story while cute, did feel a bit unoriginal. I enjoyed it anyway.
This was a fun romance, a quick read but still enjoyable. The characters had a lot of chemistry, and the plot was creative enough to keep me reading. Definitely not great literature but a nice way to get an afternoon escape.
Thanks to Harper Impulse and Killer Reads and Net Galley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love two tropes in a romance book: royal setting and enemies to lovers relationship, so I had high hopes for this one.
Unfortunately, I cannot say it was an experience as good as I expected.
It is not a bad book, it's just very unoriginal (not that I expected something groundbreaking) and the characters' personalities felt very flat and the whole time I was reading it, I only felt ok, but never excited about it.
I still think it's worth it if you like the tropes that I mentioned, since it's a very light and easy book to read. However, there are better books with those tropes.
This is a Netgalley ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.
Oh my gosh!! I really liked this book. I really love all things royal and then throw in a royal wedding and I'm hooked. The initial meeting just sets the scene for the slow build up to romance for Khara and Adam. Their story is so cute. I love how Romy Sommer references royal rom coms in the book. I could have done with less background on fake countries and their monarchies.
Overall, this book had me hooked and I would recommend this book to others.
If you Iike enemies to lovers, then this one is for you! While it’s certainly not going to be one of my favorites of all time, it definitely checks all the boxes when looking for a cute, light romance. It has enemies to lovers, it’s based around a royal wedding, and there’s plenty of steam. There are lots of things I could sit here and pick apart, but I don’t necessarily think it’s the type of book that warrants it. For me, the story did what it was supposed to do... entertain!
I very much enjoyed this book. I thought it is well written .
It is entertaining and it kept me reading.
Khara is my kind of lady! She's independent, feisty, opinionated and very wary of rich, entitled, sexy men. Waitressing in Vegas will do that to you. Adam is rich, entitled, and very sexy. Not to mention, in the line to become a prince. Too bad he doesn't want the job. I loved the antagonistic nature of their relationship. Khara doesn't like Adam. The only thing Adam wants from Khara is a quick romp in the sheets. Khara won't give him the time of day. Unfortunately for them, their stuck together at their friends wedding. What ensues is just wonderful. The push and pull between these two are delightful! I highly recommend this book!
This book was so cute! In perfect fairy tale fashion I was in love with the setting and the characters! If you’re looking for a fun romantic read this is it!
I was so excited for this book because I do love royalty romances but this book was not for me. I didn’t like the main characters and the storyline was ok. The author has a great writing style but wasn’t a fan of the plot.
My Best Friend’s Royal Wedding is cute, well paced, and with a nice mix of angst and sweetness. I enjoy romance that is not all sunshine all the time. This one was good without feeling too whiney (for the most part). The characters were interesting to watch, particularly their interactions with each other. The only thing that got a little old occasionally the predictability and one-noteness of Khara and Adam for the beginning parts of the book. As they started to change it got better, but starting out they felt stuck in their reactions to each other a little too much. However this frustration didn’t last long. All in all, this book is exactly what I was looking for out of it and I’m looking forward to picking up more of the books set in this world.
When I began reading this book, I felt as though I was missing something quite important. I realised through reading other reviews both on Goodreads and on Netgalley, that 'My Best Friend's Royal Wedding' is a spinoff of another series by the author called the Westerworld series. I truly believe that Goodreads should state this as it did effect my ability to enjoy the characters, the world and the storyline.
Overall, I was not incredibly blown away by this book. Though I wanted a light and fluffy read, which this book definitely is, it just missed the mark for me personally. I found the characters to be bland and quite two-dimensional with no depth and I also found the storyline to be quite dull. Honestly, I found the characters themselves to be so completley unlikeable and frustrating that it ruined my investment in their story - I just did not care in the slightest. Also, I found Adam's character to be annoying and condescending in the extreme as well as problematic. Possessiveness is not a cute trait to have in a healthy romantic relationship and should not be portrayed as such, especially Adam's level of possessiveness. I felt that it just ended up being his entire personality to the point that it became unreadable and unenjoyable for me to read.
This entire book just did not deliver in the way that I expected it to. Though I wanted light and fluffy, and I also got it with a huge side of bland and boring. Others might enjoy this though, especially if you do just want a really quick romantic read - if you go into this book only expecting it to be a normal mediocre romance, then you won't be disappointed.

This is what i have come to expect from a Romy Sommer book and it was a brilliant read. It forms part of the Westerwald series that can all be read as a stand alone and follows the wedding of Phoenix and Max from Waking up in Vegas.
Khara is a waitress who lives in Vegas with her mother in a trailer park and does not believe that good things will happen to her. This is where she first meets Adam were he does not make a good impression a year before the next time she sees him.
Adam is from a rich family and does not commit to anything, he's a bit of a playboy, but has grown weary of the lifestyle recently, with the death of his cousin he has the chance to change his life, but he does not want to commit, but agrees to think about the request.
Meeting again in Westerwald it does not take Khara long to remember who Adam is, however Adam only finds out near the end. Both have good chemistry together, but it is Khara who is honest enough to tell Adam what she really thinks about him, enough that he wants to try and change to be a better person. It is only when he loses her, does he realise what he has lost and what he needs to complete his life.
The description in the book about the places is just brilliant and i am really happy to see other characters from the Westerwald series in this book.
I would highly recommend not only this book, but the rest of the series.
This book was a lot of fun, very much in spite of the hero, who was an absolutely entitled (if charming) jerk. I liked the heroine a lot, and I enjoyed what you might call the Cinderella homework, where she had to learn all the spoken and unspoken rules of behaviour and dress in a royal court. I was also fascinated by the fact that the hero should, absolutely, have been a dealbreaker for me, but he somehow kept on winning me over (before reminding me once again what an entirely selfish ass he was).

This was a quick, fun enemies to friends romance novel. I enjoyed the characters and while the story was a bit cheesy at times, overall, it was a fun, light read.
I was provided an advanced reader's copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
First of all I 'd like to thank Netgalley and Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for sharing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I will admit I am a bit wary of the royal romance trope. I can't say I've found many that have worked for me but some have been enjoyable enough along the way to keep reading them. This story hasn't really changed my mind a whole lot on the trope.
The book starts out with Khara working as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. She's good at her job but she doesn't love it and sees it only as a means to pay for her college education. She is placed on duty for some VIPs that include a prince and his entourage that includes the prince's cousin, Adam who becomes the male protagonist. Khara isn't too impressed with the prince and Adam isn't much better when he offers to have her join him in his room later on.
Moving forward we come to find Khara's best friend is having a wedding to a royal in some obscure European country. Turns out the friend had already married him in Vegas the previous year and kept it secret. This was going to be the official wedding and she wants Khara to be her bridesmaid. The plan is for Khara to join her friend in Europe ahead of time so they can organise the rest.
Obviously Adam turns out to be the best man and she's against him from the start while he's at a disadvantage because he doesn't recognise the blue-haired woman as one he'd met a year before.
This is an enemies to lover sort of story. The first part of the book is pretty good and shows promise. As the story goes on, especially in the European setting, the story really flattens a lot and I ended up finishing just to finish. It wasn't terrible but it just stopped being all that interesting and got bogged down with all the finery and the manners and all that. I guess there just wasn't that spark for me and finishing was a means to find out how they end up together.
Overall, a decent read but nothing special. I give it 2.5 stars.
This is my first book by Sommer. It was an easy quick read. Sommer is a good writer. I found there were some gaps in the story. It felt like there were small parts that were omitted and made following the story a bit hard a couple of times.
There is nothing special about this book unfortunately. I would just say it wasn't too bad and it wasn't too good.
This was a cute book- very reminiscent of Hallmark movies or Christmas Prince on Netflix.
Basically, a Las Vegas bartender (Khara) travels to a small European country for her best friend’s wedding. Oh, I should mention that Khara’s best friend is marrying a real-life prince. Anyway, it’s a “traditional” wedding, which means there’s only one bridesmaid and a best man. This puts Khara in close proximity with Alex, who she immediately dislikes because she thinks he’s going to be like all the other entitled rich guys she has to put up with at work.
This is a classic enemies-to-lovers trope, and it’s very cute. It’s a little light on substance, but sometimes, light and fluffy is better than angsty and complicated.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something light and cute.

My Best Friend's Royal Wedding is every princess wannabe's dream come true but not Khara's. No, this Royal engagement is way out of her comfort zone. Also out of her zone, the sly and closeted sleazy best man. Okay so he isn't sleazy to most of the word, they consider him a catch but Khara knows better. One meeting and his fate is sealed. Too bad for Khara it wasn't their only meeting. Learning the playboy has a heart is her kryptonite.
Once the secret of his actually having a heart is out, Khara has to wrangle hers in. Too bad she never had a chance!
I enjoyed the premise but I felt it lost some of its charm. Khara and Adam feel too two dimensional. While I enjoy Khara's stubborn drive and her need to not fall into her mother's shoes, that is all we really get from her. Adam is a playboy with not many redeeming qualities the entire book. His only goal is to get Khara in bed. His outlook changes eventually but I just feel like HE hasn't changed. I probably just jaded I don't have a prince chasing me!
Enjoy the fairytale. Cinderella, I mean Khara, gets everything she never knew she wanted.
This was a completely different take on a royal romance and I enjoyed it. Adam was quite unlikeable at the beginning of the book and I liked that Khara called him out and was brutally honest. She was a bit judgemental at times and Adam did come across as entitled but he was aware of that. But I did understand their chemistry.
Even with this being a romance, the other aspects to the plot like the wedding and the events surrounding that are really entertaining. If you liked American Royals, you’d probably enjoy this. It has less drama than American Royals but more romance. I think this would make a great movie, the places in this book are so vivid! There are a few cheesy parts but if you like Hallmark movies and rom-coms, you'll really enjoy this.
Even though this is a standalone book, there are books set in the same world and there’s one with Phoenix and Max’s story. I think if I had read that first, it would have boosted my reading experience so that’s definitely something to keep in mind! I felt a little disconnected from two these characters and they are important to the plot.
When I saw the cover of ‘My Best Friends Royal Wedding’ on Netgalley, I simple couldn’t not request a review copy. I love stories about royals and this one just sounded like a lot of fun. So when I got approved to read this book I couldn’t be more excited. The reviews of this book have been both good and bad. And I was determined to read this book myself.
In ‘My Best Friends Royal Wedding’ we meet waitress Khara. Khara has been living in a trailer for her whole life. She knows what is to not have a lot of money, but she is proud of what she has accomplished and enjoys working hard. When Khara is invited to her best friend’s wedding to a royal. She is both happy for her friend, but also scared about all the things she doesn’t know about etiquette. And when she meets a friend of the groom who seems to be this infuriating rich playboy her trip to another country seems to be going downhill fast. But slowly on she starts to find out there is more to Adam than meets the eye.
Since the reviews of this book are all over the place, I was a little scared this read would be disappointing but I must say it didn’t disappoint me at all. The beginning of this book was a little slow, it really took me a while to really get into this story and to start liking the characters. But the further I got in the book, the better it became.
What I loved most about this book was the character development. In the beginning I thought I wouldn’t like Adam’s character for example. If there is one thing I don’t like it is a playboy.. so I was a little worried about Adam. But luckily we started to see glimpses of the ‘real’ Adam and in the end he was a character I really liked.
The chemistry between Adam and Khara was fun too. There was a lot of buildup and I really enjoyed there interactions and chemistry. In the end there was some confusing stuff with an ex of Khara that I didn’t get at all.. but it all ended up pretty good and I truly enjoyed this read.
