***Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a complimentary copy of THE JUSTICE PROJECT by Michael Betcherman in exchange for my honest review.***

Former high school football quarterback Matt and class valedictorian Sonya intern at an THE JUSTICE PROJECT an organization that investigates and wrongful convictions. They soon believe a man serving time for killing his parents is actually innocent. Since the case didn’t meet agency requirements, Matt and Sonya investigate on their free time hoping to find resolution.

I Loved with a capital L reading THE JUSTICE PROJECT and couldn’t pull myself away. Michael Betcherman’s writing, plot and characters were unique and often surprising. Matt and Sonya weren’t smarter than dumb adults, but they were clever and resourceful making the story feel more realistic than other books.

Matt and Sonya had unique personalities with flaws and positive attributes. They were easy to root for. Their individual and shared paths forward had more downs than ups with a fair share of missteps.

In the afterward Betcherman explains that the two clients mentioned in THE JUSTICE PROJECT were actual cases of men falsely convicted of murders and later exonerated, making the story even more special. I’m going to read more of Betcherman’s books now and in the future.
