Off-Duty SEALs is a collection of four novella sized stories. Each one is filled with romance and familiar faces. If you enjoy reading about sexy SEALs mixed with romance then this is the book for you. I am giving Off-Duty SEALs a 4 stars rating.
Four Stories of Bachelor Navy SEALs On Dangerous Missions of the Heart in Off-Duty SEALs, An Echo Platoon Anthology by Marliss Melton.
This was a great set of short stories that I really enjoyed. I liked the story of H/h from each one. I can’t wait until the next story from this author.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
This is a series of novellas from the always-wonderful Marliss Melton. The novellas are full of action, the romance is solid, and while it hasn’t the usual problem of novellas in a lack of deep characterization, it still a book that has the reader making connections to the characters.
Unlike other anthologies, all of these novellas are terrific. Five stars for each story.
Marliss Melton presents a wonderful anthology of romance novellas with a hint of suspense and action that keep readers engaged and coming back for more. Each of the stories in this anthology features a interesting storyline and characters that are interesting and relatable.
I enjoyed this trilogy very much. It was a light read featuring very likable heroes and heroines. They faced very real issues and overcame them with heart. At the end of the day, that's just what I want to read!
Years ago I read "Forget Me Not" by Marliss Melton and fell in love with Team 12. I've kept up with her and read them all. This anthology and one more book - Return to Eden- may be the last of Marliss Melton? Off Duty SEALS may be hea, but that news is definitely not!
I recommend reading all of her Echo platoon books. Including Off Duty SEALS. You won't be sorry.
This collection was a short sampling of what author Marliss Melton can create. I enjoyed reading about the SEALs but thought each story could be a little deeper. I felt like I was just skimming the surface of what could be wonderful stories.
I really enjoyed each story in this set. Each is a quick escape, perfect for a weekend or evening read. If you're into military romance as I am you'll like it. A little action and a little romance.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an anthology of the novellas of the Echo Platoon series. Two of the SEAL's are wounded, either emotionally or physically and two just find themselves in the right place at the right time. They all have a romance and a suspense/mystery lite element. Great short reads.
Tyler Rexall - Look Again: 5-Stars
When Tyler Rexall returned home he never envisioned that it would be as a medically discharged SEAL. He had planned on being a lifer and now he is in his Louisa, Virginia home and everything has changed. His chance meeting with Katie Crowley, a girl from high school, changes everything.
I loved this love story/suspense-mystery lite. Tyler is hurting and Katie and her therapy dogs are wonderful elements in a great story.
Rusty Kuzinsky - Never Forget: 4-Stars
When Master Chief Rusty Kuzinsk was the sole survivor of an op that went terribly wrong he vowed to make a difference for those who returned home and needed a safe place to land. He created Never Forget. His retirement celebration, 10 years later, has brought NCIS Special Agent Maya Schultz back into his life, her husband gave his life to save Rusty's. He has always felt a connection with her and wants, more than anything, to make things between them more. When he adopts a military war dog with PTSD and Maya needs somewhere for her 14 year old son to be, it's a win-win for both.
I love the dog, Draco. The human characters were okay too, but Draco was wonderful.
Mitch Thoreau - Take Cover: 3-Stars
As Navy SEAL Lt. Mitch Thoreau and his friends embark on their vacation, which has been in the planning for over a year, Spain erupts with Catalonia's bit for independence. The SEALs are on alert from the time they check in at their hotel and the beautiful receptionist is sure to warn them. Mitch has an instant attraction to the lovely Katrina and is unwittingly drawn a terrorist plot.
This is one of those insta-lust in a stressful situation stories and the whole plot felt very rushed.
Stuart Rudolph - Strike Back: 5-Stars
Stuart Rudolph is a crazy smart Navy SEAL who, in his spare time also fights terrorism with the Ghost Security Group. He is tall, dark and handsome, but his social skills need work, lots of work. He broke up with Hilary Alcorn 5 months ago over a misunderstanding, devastating her. He has been miserable too and has decided to reach out to her, try to patch things up. His means were not real smart, but uncovered a very real threat to Hilary.
Loved this one! Slightly awkward Stu and totally out there Hilary make a quirky couple and they are just fantastic.
Great collection of Novellas that slot in between the larger novels in the series.
Look Again, is the prequel to the Echo Platoon series. We meet T-Rex during his transition from active duty and trying to figure out what he's going to do with his life. In walks Tyler and her PTSD trained dogs. Bronson is a total cutie!!!
Never Forget is an older couple romance with the added twist of Rusty having survived the tragedy that took Maya's husband. Rusty is determined to give his brothers-in-arms a safe place to decompress. Maya needs something for her son to occupy his time before he goes off the deep end with his "gangsta-wannabe" friends.
Take Cover takes place during a time of great unrest for the Basque people and Mitch gets caught up in it on Barcelona. Katrina doesn't mind giving the hunky man sanctuary but he may need to come to her rescue too!
Strike Back is giving Stuart and Hilary a chance to clear the air after a misunderstanding cost them their relationship. But Hilary is now a target, can their tenuous relationship survive 2nd time around.
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you NetGalley!!
This anthology was amazing. A bunch of hot navy seals?! yes please.
there are four novellas in this collection.. so each is a quick read overall.
all four stories were great in their own right.
worth the read!!!
Off Duty Seals Anthology is definitely worth the read! All 4 novellas feature Marliss Melton's signature capability; complex, engaging characters that are easy to root for. If you haven't read her before, ODS would be a great introduction, and you will be quickly hooked. If you're already a fan, know that some of the novellas have been published separately (hence not a 5). If you like action balanced with romance, crisp dialogue, passion and an entertaining story, this would be a good purchase. It's difficult to express strong interesting characters in novella format, but Ms Melton is a pro.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.
What another great set of books from Marliss Melton! I’ve read previous books from this author and really enjoyed them. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was just as good as those. I enjoyed the story and the characters were very well written.

Having read and enjoyed several of Marliss Melton's SEAL romances, I was happy to see a boxed set of her works. While the stories are on the shorter side, it is very nice to read the stories back to back. This set is an anthology featuring stories of the men from Echo Platoon but the stories are not connected. Each one is a stand alone romantic suspense novella. Overall a great introduction to this author if you've never read her books or just a great collection to read if you have.
Marliss Melton is a new author for me, but Navy SEALs and four stories in one anthology, made this a hard one to pass up. All four stories are action-packed, intriguing and grab the reader’s attention from start to finish. Complex characters and interesting plots make each a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read. I’ll definitely be looking out for more of this author’s work.
