This was a great book to just again remind me how important intercession is. We should never stop praying for our children, other loved ones and community. Prayer is powerful and change lives.

Though my dad is a pastor now (we were all grown and out of the house), none of that was my reality while growing up. I don't ever recall anyone praying for me or over me and my own personal prayer life didn't exist.

Several years ago I began to understand the power of prayer and the significance of praying for others especially our children, but honestly I just didn't know how or what I should be praying for. I'd hear these mighty women of God speak about how they prayed for their kid's teachers and the beginning of the school year, or how they prayed for their kids spouses before the kids were even old enough to date! I wanted to learn how to do that. Raise Them Up has enabled me to worry less about my kids by praying and getting out of the way of God's will.

If you're concerned about your children's WHOLE lives not just their physical and emotional health. But their mental and spiritual health AND the people they encounter and interact with daily... other students, teachers, coaches, strangers and their impact on your child's wellbeing, read this book. When we hear prayer changes, most times we're thinking of our circumstances, when in reality the person most changed by our prayers is us. This is such a powerful book, I can't recommend it enough.

Even if you're not a biological parent, use the book to pray over the children in your life and watch it bless you also.

I really love reading books that inspire me to be a better parent and gives me the spiritual nudge I sometimes need. This book had many great points and I enjoyed reading it overall. However, compared to other books I’ve read on the same subject, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

This book is a prayer guide. Parents can read through the chapters and be directed on how to pray Scripture for their children. Many stories are also shared from those who have been involved with "Moms in Prayer" groups through the years. The stories add to the authenticity and demonstrate how God answers prayer. Although I read it as an e-book, I would recommend a paper copy. Praying about specific areas of need might easier in that format. The book is an extremely practical guide on prayer. Praying Scriptures for our children is definitely a recommended practice!
Only one drawback - previous titles written by these authors were referenced frequently. That did cause the text to stutter at times but not enough to lower the rating.
I did read a copy of this book through #netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Raise them Up is written by Sally Burke and Cyndi Claypool de Neve. It is a nonfiction practical living book on prayer. The book takes parents topic by topic to approach prayer for their children. We are encouraged to be consistent as we pray for our children. It is very useful and helpful book for any Christian parent. Thank you to the author and publisher , netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. It is a rich resource. I am not obligated to write a positive review.

Are you looking for a practical and effective way to help your children? It doesn’t matter if they are still in the womb or have walked the earth many years. Praying, especially praying God’s word, is the greatest tool we have in our tool belts.

Sally Burke and Cyndie Claypool de Neve have written a wonderful book to help you do this with ease. The book starts with a basic layout and explanation of effective prayer. The rest of it is broken into chapters about specific issues or topics that will come up in parenting. These chapters are filled with testimonies of GOD’s goodness and provision from other praying moms, specific prayers, and verses one can use in praying for their children with each topic.

I read the book straight through with ease. However, I like the organization of it by topic as it makes it easy for parents to reference as needed. This was well thought out.

My only complaint with the book was more a technical issue as it was not formatted well for an e-reader. It made some pages difficult to read.

I was given access to this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and Harvest House Publishers for the free copy of Raise Them Up: Praying God’s Word Over Your Kids in exchange for my honest review.

(Synopsis) With Raise Them Up you will learn effective strategies to lift your children up in prayer. You will discover the joy of interceding for your children as you pray specific scripture prayers. Through inspirational stories and thoughtful guidance, you’ll be motivated to pray bold prayers to help your children in every situation experience the impact of powerful prayers to fulfill God’s purposes, trust God more when you speak His Word over your children, and live out your purpose as you seek God’s will for your family. When you pray Scripture over your children’s lives, you can trust that you are praying God’s will.

When reading through advice on praying over your children, the authors provide specific scripture to provide evidence as to why God wants us to use His word in prayer. It is important in Christian nonfiction to use scripture both correctly and frequently and the authors of this work do well to include the most relevant and accurate scriptures for whatever they are sharing. All of the advice provided was practical and useful for any parent wanting to learn more about how, why, and when to pray over their children. It is refreshing to see how scripture can transform your prayer life and the life of your child. The authors even include “fill in the blank” type ways to pray over your children in certain circumstances.

While the content is strong and rooted in truth, the authors could have added more explanation and examples to make the ideas flesh out deeper. They both include personal stories to demonstrate how they use their own techniques, but a few more sprinkled throughout the story would also add strength to their words.

Overall, I would recommend this book to the new parents in our small group and rate the novel a ⅘ stars for strong content that does not avoid the truth.

This book is set to be published on August 6, 2019.

A definite must-read for Christian mothers (of all ages!) Sally Burke and Cindy Claypool have provided us with an amazing resource that I plan to pass along to many of my friends. I loved the handful of Scripture-based examples of prayer at the end of each section. This book was highly motivating and would enrich anyone's prayer life (whether a newer Christian or someone that has been walking a bit longer.) I am challenged by all of the ways we can pray for our children (specifically remembering to pray for their lifelong education and mentors in their lives.) Well done!

If you're a mother who's looking to pray more specifically and strategically for your children, then Sally Burke and Cindy Claypool de Neve have the perfect book--Raise Them Up. As seasoned prayer warrior moms, they provide excellent ideas for how to pray Scriptures over your children for a variety of topics. This is an amazing resource, for sure, giving Scripture prayers, but also leading the reader to learn how to form her own prayers from Scripture passages. This is a definite must-have for moms who want to make praying over their children a priority. What better way to pray that to pray God's Word and His will over your children!
