I expected this book to be a decent resource, but I was pleasantly surprised by the personal stories used to bring the spiritual teachings to life. The rituals are primarily meant for a group setting, but if you are determined to incorporate these teachings into your solitary practice, they are very flexible and easily applicable.

This material is outside of my culture, but as an outsider, I appreciated the beauty and the teachings of the trees. I'm sure if you have Celtic ancestry, you'll appreciate this book even more.

With easy to follow instructions, Celtic Tree Rituals shows us the healing and spiritual teachings from the trees. Sharlyn Hidalgo presents multi-faceted ceremonies for all thirteen moon months—and the final day of the Celtic year

Well-written and easy to follow this is a great book.

Those feeling connected to trees and called by their "Celtic roots" will enjoy this book. The layout is perfect and the quantity of information provided is just right.

Look at the beautiful cover, this beauty is through out the book. The illustrations are almost better then the information in the book, and that is pretty great.

This book does focus a bit more on meditation then rituals and to do most of the rituals correcctlyt you would need more than one person participating, but could be adapted for a single person. But the information is well explained and fascinating.

I really liked that there are lists of the Sabbats during the time covered by each tree. There is a step-by-step instructions for each of the rituals, as well as group activities, song and dance suggestions, chants, and a guided meditation. This book is written amazingly well.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.

Though this book wasn't really for me I still I really loved it. It's easy to read, informative and it has some beautiful illustrations. The book may be less useful for solitary practitioners and for those who don't enjoy meditation. Overall though I'd say that this book would be a great addition and resource for those looking for this type of material. I definitely learned a lot from reading this title.

This was interesting. I never knew tree rituals existed. I'm familiar with tree lore and know oak is venerated, but had no idea there were rituals. Eye opening and informative book for groups I'm guessing. As a solo practitioner I'll pass, but still enjoyed the reading.

This author clearly has expertise with the subject matter and cares deeply about it. The rituals that I read looked interesting and could be adapted for a solitary practice, but were mainly geared toward group participation. I liked the layout of the book, with keyword associations, connections, and lore in addition to lists of sabbats that occur during the time covered by that particular tree.

Unfortunately I didn't connect with the book as strongly as I'd hoped. The writing style just didn't catch me. I felt like it could have been a little more down to earth and straightforward. Also, and this will have absolutely no relevance to anyone not reading an ARC, the format was very difficult for me to read. I understand the need to protect against piracy, but removing 80% of all instances of the letter "f" and 20% of all instances of any letter following the letter "f" seems...like not the best way to do it?

The finished, physical book looks like a beautiful piece of work, and I'm sure would make a useful addition to any Celtic-based pagan's collection.

Celtic Tree Rituals focuses on bringing together the Celtic Tree calendar and ways to celebrate such among like minded individuals. I found that the author applied a basic group ritual format and modified it such that it would honor the traits of each tree that was represented during that month. I personally do not participate in group rituals at this time, and so I was not very interested in reading each detail of all the rituals that were presented. However, I think that the author presented the information in a way that would make each ritual easy to implement and adaptable to change if needed. This books seems more conducive to being referenced for use as each calendar month occurs, and I think that this book would be particularly useful to group ritual facilitators that are interested in incorporating Celtic Tree knowledge into their practice.

I really loved this book. It's easy to read, informative and it has some beautiful illustrations. The book may be less useful for solitary practitioners and people living in the southern hemisphere and it's also more on the meditiation rather than rituals.

From a drawing of them, to the preparations, callings, start and end. The Celtic Tree Rituals book is such a gift for those who want to learn a bit more of the rituals and how to do then, for what!
With easy writing that you can easily keep up and understand! Totally a book you need!

Sorry for my possible English mistakes!
In this book detailed view about trees from more "magical" perspective is presented. For every tree we have interesting infos about particular tree lore, mystical meaning, purpose and how to aply in practical way those teachings...Book is written in form of "calendar" book which means that one can follow text together with actual month, for ex. teachings for Oak tree are for early Spring, but I believe that you can use it any other time also. Old rule in magic is that "need dictates" right time. You can use methods in solo work or it can be aplied for group work. Great book for study about Celtic tradition also. Thanks Llewellyn and NetGalley.

Each moon has its own chapter and a chapter about the sabbat placed accordingly. You get some information of how to create a tree ceremony and the tree ogham. You get a good variety of information for each tree. Nice ideas on how to celebrate each tree month. Very nice book to add if Celtic tree year interests you.

This book came available at a perfect time for me as I was just beginning to get interested in the Celtic Tree Months. This book was a great guide for me to learn more. Organized clearly and told in an easy voice. I wish the rituals had some guidance for solitary practitioners or long distance covens, though.

I’ve been taken by surprise by how much I Love this book. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it, and was slightly weary. But right out of the gate it’s a keeper and one I expect to reference often (need to buy a paper copy that I can sufficiently mark up once it’s released in July :).

The passage on ‘How to hold a tree ceremony’ ritual, including meditation and chanting is very helpful as well as the blessing of the four directions. I am also fired up about the references to Tarot and just learned this author created a tree oracle deck I’m now keen to check out. Additionally the correspondence of the Celtic Trees and ceremonies for the Wheel of the Year has not only deepened my knowledge but also further ignited the connection to my Celtic roots.

This book beautifully weaves together bits and pieces of ceremony that I’ve heard referenced hear and there and solidifies the meaning with well penned explanations that are easy to understand and absorb. I deeply appreciate the outline of keywords, guides, totems, guidance and activities for earth tree month. The author includes a lot of personal experiences, lessons and synchronicities which I find humanize this magical book. All told, I was delighted by how much this book spoke to me. And I find it entirely appropriate to have read this book at the time of the Oak Tree. We once invested in 10 acres of land, and my husband jokes that he got me to agree to it because of the ancient, giant oak tree on the property. Likely true. I kept one of the leaves when we sold the land.

I am in total agreement with Sharlyn Hidalgo‘s musing that: “The spirit of the trees and plants, and their totems, guides, and deities are real, and ready to offer their service as we invite them to do so.”

Sharlyn Hildago draws on Celtic Druidary to present spiritual teachings from tress set against the months of the calendar. I found this to be more guided meditations rather than ritual practice and useful only in the Northern hemisphere where these tree species abound. Perhaps less useful for solitary practitioners but full of ideas for those working in circle or offering large group workshops. The musical listings at the end of the book is pretty cool and would be beneficial to those organising group ritual or Red Tent facilitators ect.
