This is a great book for anyone who's interested in working with dragons in a magickal way. The book is very detailed, explains and covers just about every aspect of working with them.
The author gives you background information, warnings about working with dragons and what approach to take to ensure the most success. The book provides you with meditations, clans, spells, candle and crystal use and more. This is a great starting point for newbies and gives them an amazing gateway to more advances uses in the future.
I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I love the use of dragons in magick. They bring such wonder and enlightenment. There is just something about dragons that draws me in. This books is broken up in to eleven chapters that take you through the steps of summoning and bonding with dragons for magickal purposes. It tells you facts and misconceptions about dragons. It is a great resource to use and I will be going back to time and time again.
As a long-time fan of the author, I was disappointed to learn she had passed away. I don't know if this is her last book or not, but I'm glad I was granted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
To some, this book may come across as a broad approach to dragon magic. Others may see this volume as a pile of crap. I think it is a good introductory piece and the artistically and spiritually inclined can all learn something from it. There is a lot of information to take in, and how one uses it is up to the individual obviously. While I'm not sure that I can use any of this information in my spiritual practices, I believe in being knowledgable about more than what we practise.
If the reader keeps an open mind, they might find that they learn something from this book. And no matter what we believe, knowledge never hurt anyone.
You can always count on a great and informative book from D.J. Conway. This book is about how to work with the Dragons and the Dragon Clans for their strengths and magic. I have never worked with them but I know a very powerful witch who does. This book is for beginners and the experienced as well. Until I read this book, I had no idea of how to use Dragons for magic. I'm glad that it started from the basics and goes into the deeper meanings. It's a beautiful, well written book that is for anyone who will open their minds to accept it. It's a great resource book, one that should be on every practitioners shelf. I loved it and will recommend it to all my friends. So excited to have been able to read it. I received this book from Net Galley and Llewellyn Publishing for a honest review. I voluntarily read this great book.
A very informative and extensive book om everything to do with dragons. It would be an excellent resource for writers, and for anyone interested in magic and fantasy. The addition of some artwork will make all the difference as the cover is wonderful. Thank you
Llewellyn did it it again. This is a beautiful book packed with information about dragons, dragon types and clans, meditations, spells and rituals.
A great addition to anyone's magical library!
The ebook version had quite a few typos in it. It might need a last edit before publication.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of Dragon Magick.
Sorry for possible English mistakes in review.
This book is very interesting to read. It is kinda of "best of" material from authors two previous books but great new material is added as well!!! New material is about new groups (clans) of dragons which can be contacted through provided basic rituals. With intention author witholds some information about this new clans and now after author passed away (Deanna "D. J." Conway (1939 - February 1, 2019)) it seems that that exploration would be solely on practitioners, to explore and work with these new clanes. Nice addition are the planetary rituals with dragons involved which can boost your workings. Yet don't take instructions from the author to rigidly, chants and spells from the book can be used in many creative ways! And I am sure that it was true intention from D. J. Conway, may she R.I.P.
