Interesting memoir of hypnosis, Recommended to anyone who may be interested in this topic or the subject of spirituality and health. The author’s journey is amazing and well worth the read.
This was one of those books that has a simple concept of how to be ‘a better person’ but really clicks when you read it. Should be reviewed every few months.
I was so looking forward to this book, the description sounded like something that is very close to my heart. I debated between two and three stars for this book that it took me months to finish. I bet I read 20 books in between. Every time I put it down, I would find any excuse not to pick it back up. The writing is long, drawn out, confusing, and redundant.
There is a lot of good information on LBL hypnotherapy and what happens between lives, the council of elders and those that guide us in life. I will probably read some of his source material that he recites from, those may be a little easier to digest.
This book is beautifully written. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get through it though. I’m too emotional right now and this book brought up things I wasn’t ready to face within at this point in my life. Nonetheless a good book to be in a library collection.
I wasn't overly fond of this book. About 80 percent of this book was just an advertised for something called A Course of Miracles. So that took away from the enjoyment I had. I was mored interested in the hypnosis part but didn't really get much of a scientific look other than the history of hypnosis in general. I enjoy learning about spiritual journies and this is an interesting blend of a variety of spiritual and religious beliefs. It wasn't very helpful for my religious journey; though I'm glad he's happy.
I was really looking forward to reading this book.! I agree love is everything and couldn’t wait to read more about his experience, as I love reading about other people’s spiritual journey.
The first few chapters were interesting talking about A Course in Miracles I made it to chapter 8 and gave up. There is a lot of superfluous prose. I gave up trying to weed through this to get to the meat of what he was talking about.
The author also refers to his guides as The Council/Elders. This language refers to the Mormon church. I do not know enough about this and the language was confusing at times.
I wish this book had been edited better, as it has really great potential.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read Be Love in exchange for an honest review.
I very much wanted to love this book since I have previously studied and read other works on the impact of past and other lives. I have enjoyed and benefitted from those other experiences. Unfortunately, Be Love did not enhance these ideas for me. Its themes are true and timeless. However, the writing is somewhat preachy and redundant, hitting the reader with the same ideas repeatedly. The ideas are certainly valuable, but perhaps some good editing could help present them more smoothly.
I typically find books about people's individual spiritual quests to be fascinating, and this book was no exception. In this book, the author weaves in both his understanding of A Course of Miracles and his insights gained through life-between-lives hypnotherapy. He states that a voice who called itself Phaedron and its Council of Elders passed on insights from the spiritual realm to him. The first section of the book goes into more detail about the hypnotherapy aspect as well as A Course in Miracles. The longer second section details the wisdom that the author believes he has gained from both of these, mostly about an all-encompassing love for humanity and oneness. This is not a quick or easy read, but it does provide interesting food for thought if you're on your own spiritual journey.
I loved the information and concept shared in this book, as well as the author's experiences. You can sense how passionate and committed the author is to his message and it reaching his audience. For that I'm grateful. I found the overall tone a little preachy though and did not agree with some of the assumptions the author made in general. Nevertheless, I enjoyed his research and experiences and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in this field of inquiry.
I chose this book because of its subject matter. The author mentions authors which I've read. I was eager to read more about how our spirit, once we die, goes to the spirit world to be further trained before our next reincarnation.
This book really bogged down the subject matter. I wanted to hear more about the author's experiences while being hypnotized, not hear about the Course. I felt he was selling it to me. He also repeated ad nauseum the what he had learned through the years-- a repeat of the same lesson during different sessions.
I didn't finish reading it. My suggestion to the author is to simplify his goal for the book. Don't be redundant, or possibly organize it in a more engaging way.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing this ebook for purposes of review.
I've read a lot of books with a bit of this or a bit of that on this subject, but Pete Brigham has brought it all to the buffet for the reader. Very strong message, with all of the explanations and beliefs that support our growth to loving beings.
Thanks for the opportunity to read and review this work!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.
I know that many people who have read this book will love it but I just couldn't find it relatable or hold my attention. It just didn't seem to keep me stimulated. The jargon was very off the wall and I was confused about so much. It frustrates me when I have to have a dictionary in one hand while reading the book in another.
The pages seem to ramble on and on. I read the book fully but I don't think that I am fully understanding what the topic is about.
Great and fascinating subject, however there is a lot of repetition; it could have been a much shorter and therefore more powerful read. There are also lot of unnecessarily fancy/flowery sentences that don't serve the overall flow or purpose. Those are my only two criticisms; otherwise love the content and very much appreciate the author making the effort to share his experiences with the world.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. I had read about out of body experience before but had never heard of LBL sessions. Am I an automatic believer, no, but it has made me think about what he is saying. I always find it fascinating to read what others think and it was interesting to read about his life. Parts of his story, I could see me and maybe there is more for me to learn. I find myself thinking about the things he wrote and going back to reread parts of it. This is a book that makes me question things and want to learn more about it. To start with a book I wasn't sure I would even finish reading it and now I am still thinking about it is a wonderful book. I never would have thought this book would have such an impact on me.
Book Review: Can Love and LBL Hypnotherapy bring you to a closer understanding of Heaven?
Be Love
Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy and it’s lessons for Our Soul’s True Purpose
by Pete Brigham
In the introduction, Brigham states, “A Course in Miracles has been my inspiration for the past 13 years, and I encourage people to acquaint themselves with the Course and its teachings.” He quotes a lot from the Course and relates it to what he has learned from the LBL Hypnotherapy. The book is divided into 3 sections. The Path is section one. (Chapter 1: Signs Along the Way, Chapter 2: Between Two Lives , Chapter 3: Reincarnation and Other Lessons Chapter, 4: The Life Between Lives Experience)
In this first section Brigham shares his experiences as he studied A Course in Miracles and how it changed his life. He also talks about regular hypnosis and the discoveries he made while utilizing this therapy.
“Sameness occurs to us when we start to sense the Unity between all people—and demonstrate that understanding by treating everyone the same. Sameness-accustomed eyes see no differences between us”
He explained that LBL sessions follow the usual hypnosis stages of progression through Beta consciousness (which is the waking conscious state) to Alpha (a lighter trance state required for Past Life Regression) and then Theta (the deepest state required for LBL)
Moving into the second section of the book, Part Two: The Lessons (Chapter 5: The Path to love, Chapter 6: Something About You, Chapter 7: Opening Our Senses to love Chapter, 8: Oneness Is Absolute, Chapter 9: Forgiveness Is Letting Go)
He explains that Love is universal for every conscience. But this should not be confused with the passionate love as we all know and search for. It is the higher love beyond a physical/chemical connection. It is what our planet and every thing on it as a whole should be striving for. “In the True World, all are perfectly worthy of being loved, and all are loved—perfectly.”
In chapter 9, Brigham explains about forgiveness, and not just about petty grievances. His explanation that forgiveness is really a learning tool to better ourselves and not from an ego standpoint but from the soulful experience resonated with me. “Thus, the first step of forgiveness is to examine the blaming mechanism we hold within ourselves, in order to see that the ego is behind this—not only in our wanting to judge this person, but also in our seeing the offense in the first place.”
And finally the third section, Part Three: Deciding for Being (Chapter 10: You Are a Vision of Light, Chapter 11: “Why Are You Why?”, Chapter 12: Thoughts Are Things, Chapter 13: All Love Is Self-Love)
In this section he discusses life as a “learning game”. Quoted From chapter 10, “But are we trying hard enough to learn? At this point, we could ask ourselves: “Do I sincerely question the way I think about other people—or am I skating through life with no effort? Am I handing away my judgments and anger...or am I holding on to them?”... Whatever we may think about our “lot in life,” we should live and love as urgently and intently...A life is a precious thing...We can choose to have kinder, more universal perceptions of other people. By consistently choosing a loving inclusiveness over our ego’s angry divisiveness...We have been put here only to learn to change our mind; to forgive and love other people without distinction or prejudice; to see unity and shared interests everywhere we look; and to overlook all our petty setbacks—and wordlessly, gratefully, offer humble blessings to a world that seems to have no heart.”
“...it is not through endless philosophical abstractions that one becomes nearer to the Source of love: it is through loving everyone equally.”
Overall Brigham has interesting points that he makes as he compares the teachings from The Course in Miracles to his LBL sessions. He says he was called to be a teacher to share his experiences; essentially to help others evolve higher to Love. If you believe in reincarnation, and near death experiences, in universal love and in bettering humankind this book has many insights to help you along your journey. It does not, however, explain a “how-to” of the deeper LBL hypnotherapy. It is not a textbook in order to learn how. Rather it is a memoir of Brigham’s sessions and his perspective of how those experiences relate to The Course in Miracles.

Interesting, not what I expected, and not what most people would be able to put into practice. Not something I would recommend to others.
An interesting book, especially if past life regression and hypnotherapy interests you as a reader. I've read multiple books on the subject, but also gained some new sources from this book for future reading. Pete Brigham's life was changed when he read A Course in Miracles, and this book set him on the path he is on now, searching for order and higher-power connection, along with the passionate belief that all souls are connected in a grid, so-to-speak, of angels, spirits, and God, regardless of the names we use within our religious teachings. The truth, according to this book, is love; that love is the only true reality. All other incidents in life are outward/outside sources, and we must look within to discover truth.
This is a book to be digested slowly, and it may require further reading. The subject is deep, and there are many layers to be peeled during exploration. The author sites sources he explored or read deeply and refers quite thoroughly to the book/course A Course in Miracles. He also speaks of other influences; Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, Michael Newton's research on past life regression, and Linda Stewart's near death experience which made her aware of the grid of souls and interconnection of all beings.
I am glad to have been given a chance to read and review this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review. I am not sure it is a book for all readers, but I found it intriguing and full of food-for-thought.
I liked this a lot. I've read enough of these kinds of books (that discuss how life on earth is setup for humans and what is going on all around us and in our soul) to have most of this before. Each author brings their own flavor, and I like the various perspectives to help provide more pieces to the puzzle of the human experience. If you're new to this kind of info, prepare to be challenged and maybe have your mind blown a little, but please approach with an open mind! Anyway, I've heard enough similar info to believe the author's experiences and perspectives to be credible and valuable, and I really appreciate him putting them on paper. Great messages/ideas, good references to A Course in Miracles, and good exercises. Recommended.
I really appreciate the ARC for review!!
I could not finish this book I read much of the first surd of the book. I found it rather Light reading compared to my normal level and depths of reading. I study advaita vedanta and blog on it. Although the book is Well written it lacks depth and therefore it just doesn't keep me interested. Someone with a lower level of understanding of realization and Enlightenment might find this work somewhat intriguing. People are different some people see councils of Elders, some people see Jesus or Muhammad or God himself. It all depends on what your beliefs are and therefore what you would relate to in the afterlife. I don't believe one needs to know the purpose by doing lbl. If one simply surrenders completely to God, or the absolute, or whatever you call that which is, that is all that is required. The lesson is embedded in your life whether you realize it or not. Complete surrender simply opens up the path that is here without having o do lbl sessions.
